@sliztee I am also registering only for the free stuff! So far I think I will only make my Amazon registry and my Target registry public. Amazon because that has everything, and Target because they have the nursery bedding set that I want and so people have an actual store to go to if they want. FTM and I already know we will have 3 different showers so I want to give people a variety of things to choose from.
@sliztee I’m exhausted thinking about it too...my family lives on the other side of the state and my sister is pregnant as well so we will have a joint shower with that side. My MIL wants to do one for DH’s side with our friends since we live close, and I work with all women so they always do a large shower for people in our office. It’s going to be a busy summer
I did the free gift from Amazon today, got a teether.
For some reason, yesterday it was allowing me to see the welcome box on Amazon, just told me it was sold out. Today it's telling me I still need to be a Prime member to get it. I'm technically a prime member (I'm under my mom's account). However, I'm wondering if that won't count...
I tried for the Walmart box earlier but I haven't gotten anything yet. Anyone know how long that one takes? I tried again today and it said I already registered for one so I know I did it and didn't stop part way!
@Laumb11 I checked my tracking and I got mine today! (I also got my H&M mama clothes delivered today too) So it's like Christmas and I can't wait to get home and check out everything! I'm anxious to set up the Target registry to get the freebies but DH doesn't want me too without him, and I keep telling myself it's still really early!
I haven't even started researching what to put on a registry yet. I feel so behind that everyone has registries and is getting baby boxes already haha. I did just sign up for the Walmart one though since you don't have to create a registry to get that one.
Me: 33 DH: 31 Location: Castle Rock, CO DD: 10.13.18 baby #2 due: 7.14.20
@slitzee oh, totally and completely doing that. I don't see it as unethical, I see it as their cost of doing business... it is part of their attempt to drive traffic to their website, and they will get some conversions and some not.
@sarahzett@nmadjeski I feel like it's so early to start buying and planning, but then I also feel so unprepared already after seeing other people so on top of it! I haven't done anything yet!
#SlackerMomsUnite Ugh me too. I haven’t even started researching much at all yet. My sis is due in 7 wks so I’m holding out till she finds out how she likes everything she got. And I’m lazy.
I may be stating my birth class this week and have lots of free(ish) boxes coming but I have no clue what to register for, I don't want to talk names as I know it will become a heated discussion, I have no clue about pediatricians, I want to start researching stuff but whenever I start I get overwhelmed and I normally love researching! I am normally laid back and know stuff will work out but I want to puke or cry as there is just so much to do!!
@sammierose464 Exactly what I did too. Went through the checklist and just added the first item they suggested from each category. I still have everything from DD so I really don't need much. I just want the free box!
@SweetSweetTooth I was so stressed about picking the perfect bottle, swaddle blankets, bathtub, etc for DS. Honestly, babies don’t need much. Everything out there is 99% the same. There is no “right” or “wrong” choice. If I could do it over again, I’d get way less stuff. We found our few favorites (which are different for everyone and every baby) and didn’t use 75% of what we had. As long as they have a place to sleep, something to wear, and something to eat, the rest is icing on the cake.
@sliztee - I have four registries set up, and probably would not have created two of them if not for freebies. I’m only planning to give out information on three of the registries- and probably not all three to the same people.
I’m keeping Buy Buy Baby because it is my coworkers preferred place to shop.
I’m keeping Target because my non-baby friends can shop there if they don’t like to shop online.
I’m keeping Amazon because Amazon. I’ll definitely make use of the completion discount when the time comes.
Also- I think I may end up having four showers- one at work, one for each of two different social circles that I run in that do not overlap and never shall meet, and a sip & see for my friends and family in Oklahoma over the holidays. If I was organizing, it would be different, but this is one place I have no problem deferring to the generosity and skills of my close friends.
Edited to add: Don’t feel bad about just signing up to get the freebies. They know it happens, and they are paying you a miniscule amount for the valuable marketing information you are providing them.
@sammierose464 once your item ships you will have the option to order your box. If they have them in Stock. I only had to wait a day for them to have more.
@sarahzett I wont share the actual registry because stranger danger! But I am happy to write here what is on there:
Word of warning- I am a FTM so I got some input from a few friends (of course, many of which had different opinions), but take it for what you will

@kiwi2628 thanks so much for posting! I like seeing other people's registries because it gives me realistic ideas and expectations. I just sent a generic list to one of my friends to mark up for me on things actually needed vs not needed and her favorite products too. And I plan to get ideas from another couple people too (but not many because too many cooks...).
Ok ladies, FTM here so no clue what this is. I got my Amazon box today and just dug through it. Got a nice light fabric swaddle, a bottle (same kind I already got a sample of), wipe holder and wipes, and then lots of samples including seventh generation box of samples. I also got this. I first thought cloth diaper but it doesn't seem right. There are two snaps at the top. It really looks like a super small soft bandana for a dog.
Re: Free baby stuff
If I plan to share any though it will only be amazon, I won't share them all of course.
Just finished my Target "registry".
For some reason, yesterday it was allowing me to see the welcome box on Amazon, just told me it was sold out. Today it's telling me I still need to be a Prime member to get it. I'm technically a prime member (I'm under my mom's account). However, I'm wondering if that won't count...
@SweetSweetTooth a carters sleeper sounds cute! Figured they would all be the same?!

I just like research. It soothes me
