Free baby stuff

Re: Free baby stuff

  • Picked up our Baby Box this evening. It was worth a laugh, at least. I do plan on using the box for sleeping so I'm glad we got it. The samples, though. A few nursing pads and milk storage bags, a Seventh Generation laundry detergent sample, and the rest were from Dove. One sample of baby wash, one sample of regular (adult) body wash, and then three Dove Men Care samples. At least DH got to feel included!

@BrittanyCupcakes my baby box was exactly the same!!
  • @BrittanyCupcakes yup mine too! But when I had DD it had more plus diapers. It completely depends on what the state wants to put in there. The box is the only part thats worth it haha.
  • I got my Amazon box, Target bag, Noobie box and Buy Buy Baby bag. I know some people were disappointed with the Noobie box but mine came with a mam bottle, lactation cookies, nuk pacifier, wipes and milk storage bags (and a few other lotions and things) so I was happy! I went to Buy Buy Baby to look at furniture and ended up registering when I was there but didn't know I was getting a goodie bag after I registered there, so I was pleasantly surprised. Yay free stuff haha

  • @BrittanyCupcakes I laughed at the baby box too. So many men's samples. I guess we're set on travel toiletries for husband for a while, so I guess that's worth the $3 shipping?
  • The Amazon box was awesome! The others I'm not super impressed with. I've done Noobie, Baby Box, and Walmart also. Still going to get the Target one, but after that one I think that's all I'll do.

Hello!  I asked about that one a bit earlier in this thread.  For the most part, everyone was pretty unimpressed- apparently it is mostly coupons and junk mail.  You can read the responses here:

Oh okay sorry I didn't see that from before. Thanks for the info☺
  • @j_joy - No worries- nobody expects you to read the thousands of posts we’ve made at this point.  I just didn’t want the other ladies to feel like they needed to repeat themselves.   :D
  • Did anyone ever get their Wal-Mart box? I know it was a much longer shipping window but I feel like I'm beyond that right now?
  • I got one, it didn't take me long at all to get...
  • @chopchop25 I still haven't gotten mine :/
  • zwink1zwink1 member
@chopchop25, still waiting on that one. I feel like I'm well over their window, but oh well.

I never got my wal mart box either.

So not free but definitely a deal!
I don't know if it's all hospitals but we have family that work in the ones near us and they can put in orders for diapers for a lot cheaper. I think it was $5 a box and a box has four or fix packs of diapers you would find at the store so you're essentially paying for one pack and getting 3 or 4 free!
  • I finally made my Amazon registry and I got my welcome box. I was definitely pleased! I'm working on target now (while I'm at work and have a million things to do - so much for being motivated haha). Also I didn't know there was a Walmart box...I'm forever behind! Haha
  • Not a freebie, but Target has 20% off baby stuff right now. We're scoring big because they matched the City Mini GT system pricing w/ Amazon and are allowing the 20% off to add on (+5% if you have the card.) Hoping others can get a good deal this week on something bigger they needed, too!
  • ooh your amazon one is really nice!
  • that Amazon box is amazing! a little bit jealous!
  • Not a freebie: but Kate Spade is having a 75% off secret sale. I’ve heard a lot of Mommas rave about Kate Spade baby bags and I figured I’d treat myself for Mother’s Day. I wanted to share with you ladies in case any of you were eyeing one of the bags. I paid $100 for a $330 bag so pretty good deal

  • If your company has signed up for Lifecare (never seen it widely advertised internally, but I feel like all of my companies have always been members) - they have a free prenatal kit you can call to request (and no windy spiel on the phone - just give em your address and your done!) Think there's some educational materials + a few freebies in it.
  • I registered at Target in store and got the box after registration.   It was my first package. It is sinking in I'm going to be a mother of 3 soon.  Getting excited!
I registered on Amazon.  I ordered an item from the registry BUT apparently you have to click that it is a gift from the registry.  I returned the item bra was way to big.  Ordered wipes come on we can never have enough of those .  Especially if you are nursing. Does anyone remember the immediate diarrhea?
  • For those of you in areas with Publix Supermarkets (Southeastern US) my midwife told me today that they have a Baby Club you can sign up for free and they will send you a copy of "Your Baby's First Year" from the American Academy of Pediatrics along with coupons, freebies, and other newsletters/articles until your baby is 3. I had no idea and she said the book was pretty helpful so thought I would share!
  • @jellybelly114 I signed up with DD and it was great! They send coupons according to how old your LO is. So in the beginning lots of coupons for diapers, wipes and formula (which didn't help me much since I BF'd and cloth diapered, but I gave them to a friend of mine!). But once they start on solids they send you really good ones like a free produce or free meat item!
  • @SawyerRichardson That's awesome!! Good to know it's valuable. I'll probably be in the same boat early on since we plan to CD and BF (fingers crossed that goes well) but I have another friend due around the same time who may be able to use them. :) Thanks!
  • Finally got my Target bag. Pretty good. I like that between these boxes and bags I have a few bottles to try out.
  • So jealous of everyone getting the onesies! They’re so cute!

Just got my Target box today - stopped in to get something with my mother and asked on a whim. They were out the last time, but tonight they had them! I also ordered my Walmart box today.
  • I went to the Motherhood store today and picked up my goodie bag and $3 subscription to Parents (which includes Family Circle and another). It came with a bunch of gift cards that look like there's no minimum purchase required so you just pay shipping I think. The goodie bag had a bottle and coupons too.
  • I got these gift cards at Motherhood today. I won't use these ones. They all pretty much cover at least one item. You do have to pay shipping, which seems to be about $15. If you want any, let me know which and I'll send you the code.

They have to be used by next Friday. They expire after one week.

Ugh finished my amazon gift registry, what a pain in the ass, why do I  NEED to add all their checklist items? I    just added whatever and ordered my $12 scarf.

  • I’m late to the party, but saw somebody post coupons for a bunch of stuff above.  I got multiple sets of those kinds of coupons last time and didn’t get any of them. My cousin got the hot sling and said it was pretty much useless.  I did check out the car seat canopies and while they are free, shipping is $15.  I just checked Amazon and saw the same style canopies (I was looking at the jersey style since a friend said they are great for winter babies) and they not only looked longer, but some of them were only $10.

I also wanted to mention that last time I got a bunch of free formula samples.  You can contact formula companies and let them know you are expecting. I feel like even if you are breastfeeding (or maybe especially if you are) it’s a good idea to get some of the samples to have on hand, especially if you get any of the premixed samples.  If you end up not using it, you can donate it to other moms, but if you do need it, you won’t have to make a run to the store at midnight with a screaming baby, or stay home with the screaming baby while somebody else runs out to get it.  Our pediatrician also gave us tons of free formula samples when we went in. They told us to ask for them every visit (not sure if that was because of twins or not, but it doesn’t hurt to ask when you’re there).  The funny thing about that is I was breastfeeding and they sent me home with samples anyway - I ended up having to supplement when I went back to work so it worked out great!

  • Yeah I realized those coupons were kinda crappy. I did buy a few things, but most weren't worth it.

I did get my baby list box yesterday and it was great.
