My arms have started falling asleep at night. It wakes me up and makes it hard to go back to sleep so I have been working on reorienting my pillow nest to reduce the occurrence. It feels more like nerve impingement than circulation, which really bothers me.
My understanding is that developing carpel tunnel syndrome is not uncommon in pregnant women (though I thought that was a later in the 2nd trimester sort of thing.)
The tongue thing would freak me out. Seriously.
All three of them together? I would definitely talk to someone sooner rather than later.
Tongue would concern me. I once had that happen by sleeping on my neck wrong - the nerve that controls your tongue is in the back of your neck. But it’s incredibly hard to do. It’s worth checking that out.
i have a generic nerve disease so I get numbness easily and yes I’ve seen it increase over the last week. And carpal tunnel bad last week.
So on the topic of tingles. A friend, who is due mid May with #2 was freaking out last week because when she laid on her right side her left arm would fall asleep. She was also having some breathing issues. She saw her doc last Monday, and her doc did blood work and gave her a referral to a cardiologist. Naturally she was panicking. The next day they called her and said she was anemic and sent in a script for iron pills. By the end of the week she was breathing better. She also saw her chiropractor who was able to adjust something and fix her arm.
Bottom line, call your doctor for sure, hopefully it’s something simple.
Thanks everyone! Def. calling the midwife tomorrow.
I tried getting what I assumed would be the nurse's line earlier tonight and instead I ended up getting passed around to two different departments who were not helpful at all (one was more for post-partum care, the other for labor/delivery). One of the women was actually super rude and sent me into a panic mode saying I needed to go to the ER because it definitely was not a normal pregnancy symptom even though I read otherwise on the internet? I feel fine now though after drinking, eating, and walking a bit on the treadmill. I definitely feel it did not warrant a trip to the ER.
Anyway, I'm thinking dehydration could've played into this like @cdepperschmidt mentioned. I drank a cup of coffee today for the first time in about 7 weeks and probably didn't drink enough water. I'll update with what I hear back tomorrow in case anyone else runs into this later on!
