Re: Random thoughts thread?

  • Hi friends  <3 we created a general U/O and on the chit chat board.  We miss our old friends and looking to make new ones.  Today we kicked it off with a U/O thread.  Hope you'll join us.  All are welcome.

  • @prpl11butterfly I ditto PP. for the first time ever, I think I felt an O cramp this cycle, about a week ago. Body seems to be acting like my D&C was my period. We’ll see, but I am kind of expecting AF now next week. Also noticed a lot of hair loss after the MC.

so i I went on the Sept-18 BMB which I’d been a part of and am stalking occasionally. Clicked on some post, scrolled through, and the app saved an old response is typed but hadn’t submitted just before learning about my MMC. Typed in the doc’s waiting room when we were called back, hence the not having been submitted. Totally forgot about that post, and it was surprising to say the least to stumble on that today. Feels like a different person wrote that at this point. Ugh.

  • Ouch @Kabazaba that must have been a real gut punch :(  I made a post on my BMB before my appointment about being excited to see the heartbeat, (which I went back and read for some reason). It really does feel like that was a different person, and in a lot of ways it was.

  • How is it only Tuesday?!  I mean, I know yesterday was Monday, but ugh!  I'm so happy that it's a four day weekend coming up.

@kabazaba Oof, that's tough.  I can't bring myself to go back to my BM boards even though I'm curious to see how people are doing.

  • It's going to be a long week. Lucky you get a long weekend @bakerstreetboys!

I've popped in on occasion after my last update on surgery. I wanted to make sure no one else joined us over here. I also wanted to celebrate (those who participated early) in the 2nd tri gif party. But I stay out otherwise.
  • @bakerstreetboys I’m with you.  Yesterday was such a long day for me that it feels like it should be Wednesday.  I’m jealous of the short work weeks.  I don’t have one

No one else gets the Easter long weekend?!

I just died a little inside when I looked at the clock and saw that it's only 11:04.  Le sigh.

  • @bakerstreetboys not I.  And yes it’s still early another long day ahead

Its going to be a long week. Dh gets off Friday for Easter, Monday its back to work for both of us. Thats awesome a 4 day weekend!
  • Nope, DH has a long weekend though. If they are selling cars, I need to be at work *sigh*. My day has actually gone by quickly so far. Fx it continues.

Took another HPT today. Nada. Friday's was a real squinter. Sooo should I be prepared for AF to come soon? Any thoughts on if I'll O now or go straight to AF? I know now one knows but thoughts are appreciated.

@prpl11butterfly I've been peeing on all the sticks too. My HPTs went negative over the weekend. No signs of AF nor do I expect it for another couple weeks but we'll see. I've been doing the OPKs and getting low-level positives the past 2 days. I'm taking those with a grain of salt - the hormones are all over the place at this point though I've been told it is possible to ovulate 2-3 weeks after a D&C, everyone is different.

ETA: @bakerstreetboys We don't "get" a long weekend but we took one - we're actually doing a long weekend in a cabin with my husband's group of friends. I'm really looking forward to it.
  • @bethica83I should probably start using OPKs then, good thing I sprung for the 50pk I guess. If O, I at least want a chance at it. Doc said it was unlikely that we'd conceive before AF came though.
  • @prpl11butterfly Doing something feels better than just waiting around. At least for me, even just trying to understand what's going on with my body and what my cycle is doing post-D&C feels like action.

I am also taking BBT but it's been tough with a cat that wakes us up every 1-2 hours needing to eat and be supervised. I am not sure how good the temps I am getting really are.

I didn't O after my D&C, I just got AF.  It's definitely possible though!  I've started using OPKs earlier and more often now too; I want to catch that egg and have no idea when it's coming!
  • I'm fully prepared not to (I mean, I think I am prepared...) O so if I don't I don't. But a girl can hope right?

@bethica83 I've been temping since a few days after the procedure. My temps are more stable then ever which is strange. They say you need 3 solid hours of sleep for temp to be accurate.
  •  3 hours of sleep? Oh god that NEVER happens. They are stable but definitely higher than when I DO get at least an hour of sleep. Unfortunately he asks for food more frequently the closer to morning we get.

  • Ugh, those lovey little butt heads. Mine will slam her ceramic bowl around when she's hungry.
  • hahaha we have to make sure there is NOTHING he can knock over in the ENTIRE HOUSE and close off our office every night before bed or we wake up to something hitting the floor rather than whiskers and paws in our faces.

We have two other kitties - one female who is a little active at night but doesn't knock things down and mostly just waits for us to move before vocally demanding food in the morning. The young male we have is completely passed out cold in bed with us most of the night and very annoyed when we get up to feed the old man kitty.

The one we feed all night is an old sweetheart and he's got chronic kidney issues so when he wants to be fed by all means we feed him.

Back to the topic at hand... I just feel like the more information I have, the better informed I can be. And yeah I bought the giant pack of OPKs back when we first started TTC.
  • @bethica83 I don’t sleep a lot at night either and I have found that if I basically take temp around the same time each day it’s pretty consistent.  If I try to take after my longest sleep they are all over the place.  So now I take at 5am and it’s been basically the same all week
  • @bethica83 I'm on my second giant pack :disappointed: FX I won't have to use many.
  • @Mack2342 thank you that helps to know I'm on the right track. I have been trying to do that and definitely see it at least stabilized. I have been temping right on or around what was my cover-line pre-pregnancy the past week. I started temping pretty much right after the procedure and that first week was all over the place. I am sure between the hormones, the procedure, and the cat crisis my body was like WTF.

    @prpl11butterfly FX for you!
  • I sent an e-mail at work today asking when a policy was going to be implanted instead of implemented.  Eeek!  Thankfully, it was to a friend and no one else was cc'd.  She wrote me back, with "lol reread your e-mail"!  Apparently ttc has taken over all aspects of my brain!
  • @bakerstreetboys LOL.  My phone autocorrects things to crazy TTC words pretty frequently but that is soooo funny.
  • @bakerstreetboys Do you work for the gov't? I only ask because I work for the province and I know our benefits package inside and out re: fertility coverage so I could share what I know if you're in the OPS.

  • @tosh24 Thanks :)  I used to work for the province, but now I work for the Feds.  I should really look into what's covered; I figure I'll do it once we've had our consult.  I did look up some of the meds on Sun Life, and they seem to be covered, so that's at least a start.   Is there anything other than the meds that I should be thinking about?  Thank you!
  • Sitting in car avoiding going into work.  I just Don’t want to go in lol
  • @Mack2342 There's still time to turn around and go back home!
  • Lol @bakerstreetboys I have a court hearing today so can’t go back home
  • Mack2342 Once you've gotten up and dressed and made the effort, AND driven to work, there's no point in going back home. Save that for a day you can just roll over and go back to bed! :)

  • @dpjennifer you are right! I just hate it sometimes lol
  • We've been without power at home for almost 13hrs. All my fridge stuff is ruined. I don't even know how much it's going to cost to replace. I'm low on funds because of missing work last month for appointments and surgery. I was JUST getting caught up to *slowly* replenish my savings. I can't focus on work because my brain is all over the damn place.
  • prpl11butterfly Oh man that sucks!!!! Nothing is salvageable? Ugh... hate it when life adds extra pain on top of an already bad situation, especially when you were just coming back up!

  • @dpjennifer I mean, the huge box of Russell Stovers chocolates is salvageble but not much else :joy: Lunch meat, cheese, milk, yogurt. All things that can cause sickness so prefer to just restock. I think the freezer will be okay since it was registering around 15° when I left for work at 1030. 2 more hours shouldn't have put it above freezing.
  • prpl11butterfly Yeah, better safe than sorry. But still, that's a real bummer! Totally sucks. I'm sorry.

  • That sucks @prpl11butterfly.  Did your power ever come back?
  • @Mack2342 it did. Not long after my rant about it actually. They were estimating 6pm but it was done by 1 so that was a relief. At least I can cook frozen chicken nuggets for dinner when I get home.
  • Wow, boards are slow this week....
  • Positive thoughts for my fur baby please.  He’s only two and had a seizure last night.  We will be bringing him to the vet tomorrow.  The emergency line said we didn’t need to bring him in unless he had another one.  I can’t even explain how scary it was to see coming out of nowhere in the middle of the night.  :(  It’s always something.
