@marcus7676 That seemed to be our experience. DD was kind of a nightmare between 3 and 5 years old with tantrums. She still gets moody now at age 6 but she's much more receptive to having a calm talk about why she's feeling the way she is and vocalizing her emotions.
That being said, this morning I dropped her off at MIL's house who is watching her today because she is on spring break from school and she lost her sh*t when I was about to leave, begging me not to go and crying uncontrollably. This is a variance from her normal routine but she goes to MIL's house often so it's not like she's unfamiliar. Cue MIL pulling DD off of me while I try to make my way to the door and then me crying the whole way to work because I feel so bad. I'm still blown away and scratching my head wondering WHY?!
@starla487 Nope. DD just revved it up at 3.5, but it kinda works out better for me sometimes, due to her flawed 3 year-old logic. Her favorite responses when I either say no to something, or not right now, are either "Fine! I'll never (whatever it is) again in my life!" or "You just don't want me to have any fun!"
@kfren that is so frustrating. I just find it interesting how different everyone’s practices are. I took my glucose test and within an hour I had an email saying I had a new test result. It showed what my result was and what the standard was. Then this morning my midwife updated the result with her notes.

@krashke Seriously! I get that they don't do it in house and it takes a little longer, but I know they have the results! I get that I am not their only patient and that this is only a big deal to me, but geez.
@starla487 Based on my experience, food-related tantrums seem to start back up right around the age of pregnancy. (Says the lady who teared up over the bakery being out of the donut she wanted this morning.)

@LaceyBee522 Thanks! I called DH in tears after I left and he called his mom to make sure everything was okay there and she was already smiling and working on a project with MIL. We all have rough mornings here and there, I suppose
@kfren you 3.5 year old dd and mine might be the same dramatic kid...
Also, dd is way too smart for her own good. When we went to an Easter egg hunt last weekend we took pictures with the Easter bunny and she hated him. She kept asking me "who's in that costume!?" We just told her it was the real easter bunny and she kept being like "no mom, who's in that costume?" We've never said anything to her about the bunny not being real, ect....
@kfren solidarity on waiting for glucose labs! My test was Wednesday afternoon so I figured it was a long shot that I would get the results before the weekend but I was still holding out hope. Still nothing on my portal. Guess this means I'm eating all the Easter candy this weekend
@elsie42 had my one hour test on yesterday/Friday. I really hope these results are a pass or i just endured the worst pregnancy day EVER for a fail.
I was gonna post in FFCF but it never got started. Got to OBs office super early (8:30am) told to leave urine sample per usual. In preparation for the test I’d been drinking water since i woke up (i had like 4 cups by the time I arrived). Pull pants down. As soon as i lean over the toilet my hard plastic cup (empty) drops and start clicking and clacking away from me on the floor. I bend over to pick up the cup (about 2 steps away from the toilet at this point- its a large bathroom) and I immediately started peeing on the floor. Unable to stop i try to shuffle (pants are still down) to the toilet but by then its too late. I an adult woman for the first time since i can remember pee’d on the floor. I didn’t get my urine sample done so i had to do it again after the 1 hour test. It was so hard cleaning the floor with tissue (mostly bc i wanted to flush it) and paper towels. I was soooooooo embarrassed. The bathroom is connected to both the waiting room & inside the office (doors on both sides) so everyone could hear. Several ppl asked if i was ok when I walked out. And I didn’t leave a sample in the window so the MA knew something weird had happened in there. She said “I didn’t see a sample in the window” i lied and replied I couldn’t go, even though I went all over the floor.
This appointment also broke up my work day i had to go in at 7am go to my appointment and then come back. So i ended up working 7-7 on a Friday. So these results better be good or I’ll be devastated.
@ffw0617 dang girl, though I can't say I've had that happen I know the feeling of not being able to stop peeing once you've started! Fx for good results!
@ffw0617 I have to admit I laughed a little at the image of the cup rolling away as you tried to chase it. At least you were able to leave a sample after! Hopefully you get good results!
Staffing (sending nurses home due to low patient census) is making me want to poke my eyeballs out this afternoon. Of course everyone would love to go early since it’s a holiday.... so rather than going by the rules that have been written to determine who’s turn it is to leave early, they’re all bitching about why it should actually be their turn.
The real kicker is, it’s actually my turn to go home but since I’m charge nurse and no one else here today can be charge nurse, I don’t get to go home. Please, continue to bitch, the rest of you..
