Selfishly created because I’m waiting for a nurse or on call doctor to call me back. I had some cramping last night but not bad or for long so didn’t think much of them. This morning my discharge was tinted like a yellow/orange color, mostly watery and smelled like iron. I mostly feel ok other than that. Baby is moving at least. Hope all i ok.
Last week I could feel the baby move more, which is exciting because I have an anterior placenta. But now I don’t feel much movement. I am sure she is moving around in a way that I can’t feel but I am stressing a little.
@wildtot thinking of you - I had to call the nurse yesterday because I spent 4+ hours on Sunday night on the couch with my feet up chugging water to stop cervical pain/cramping that met the "call if you feel this" preterm checklist. My last sent me to L&D a few times for checks, hoping to be a less frequent flyer this time.
Thanks ladies! Things a looking ok. Everything is negative right now and baby is moving. They sounded a bit concerned with the amount of contractions so they might do a cervical length check. They are waiting for doctor to give the orders.
@wildtot hoping everything checks out with the cervical check!
I was feeling sooo much movement, and then yesterday and today, not much. Still feeling him occasionally but not as much. Trying not to stress, I know it's still too early for kick counts.
@zande2016 I was in that same boat - totally understand the piece of mind factor (*TW* totally felt that way about my MS ending so early with this pregnancy vs last - it was nice not to be pukey but end of MS was how both of my CP's ended). I had some OJ yesterday and he perked right up...and took it out on my cervix >_< find a new punching bag, kiddo.

Cervix is in good length around 3.4 so i got discharged. They said to keep an eye on my contractions. If they begin to change and become more intense and frequent to go to my doc. I might have to take meds again. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so hopefully i won’t be too stubborn if they get worse. Anyways i milk it and ask for the day off lol
@wildtot so glad everything is ok. Enjoy the day off!
I am in the same boat with movement and also with the anterior placenta but the baby is for sure moving way more often now and I've recorded videos because you can see it from the outside! I have to say I absolutely love it - I'm sure as he gets bigger it may also get painful or annoying but now it's so fun!
With that said it's still all pretty irregular. He has his times though and is usually always active after dinner. Let's all try to breathe easy definitely sharing the occasional anxiety though.
I think they're still small enough at this point that a change in position can result in feeling either more or less movement. I was feeling big kicks higher up and able to see my stomach move from the outside. Now I only feel occasional kicks in my cervix/bladder area, much more faint. I am not at the point of calling the midwife, since I am still feeling movement. It can definitely be nerve wracking though.
@wildtot Glad everything checked out okay! Just curious, for the contractions you are having, are they like the tightening and hardening feeling? I've been getting that more frequently in between appointments, but my doc was saying it's just my uterus doing what any other muscle does and he wasn't concerned, and they aren't 'contractions'. Is a contraction or Braxton-Hicks different in some way from the tightening/hardening feeling? I feel like I know nothing about pregnancy.
@julybabybear yes it’s a tight/hardening feeling but i have to breath through some and it will stop me in my tracks. I was hooked up and they can see the intensity. I got quite a few in just the 20/30 mins i was monitored. They never went over 30 (how ever it’s measured) but considered a small contraction. I had them with DS too but they would go up to 50. So they are real contractions. It could just be what my body does with pregnancies but I’m hoping to not be on watch of preterm again. Maybe my doc will monitor my cervical length if they continue or worsen. We’ll see what she says on my next appointment.
eta BHs are not painful and are more likely to tighten part of your uterus vs all of it. I can tell the difference due to its intensity and how i have to react to it.
@wildtot Thank you! I feel like I always ask a million questions at the doctors and always feel like I'm bugging them, that is so helpful. I will cross my fingers that you don't have to go on preterm watch!
@julybabybear YW! Keep asking them your questions! Pregnancy is so different and confusing sometimes. My doctor at first hasn’t made a big deal about contractions but weird how L&D did question it a bit. So I’m gonna keep bringing it up.
@wildtot so glad you and baby are doing okay! I was wondering about the BH feeling as well. Now I know what to be on the lookout for if they happen.
I'm getting tightness/pullling in my lower abdomen, as though a muscle is stretching. It's been like this for going on 2 days now. I am thinking of buying a maternity band because I literally lifted my tummy and the pain eased. Fx this is not for the rest of the pregnancy. Also, insomnia is still a big P.I.T.A. On top of all this, I'm fighting some sort of congestion, sore throat, yuckiness.
Im feeling lo roll and kick a lot one day, then barely any the next. Thought I felt her kicking me under my boobs yesterday, however I haven't felt anything since.
I have had pain in my pubic bone that's started causing back pain. Babe isn't big enough to be causing it by pressure so he's gotta be laying on some nerve. Or maybe it's my beach walk today!
@wildtot what exactly does preterm watch consist of? I can guarantee I'm going to be on it this time because i'm high risk for it. They already started talking about going to bi-weekly instead of monthly check-ups and internal checks at 22 weeks rather than 36, but is there more than that? non stress-tests? partial pelvic rest?
@gingerbride26 for me it consists of complete bedrest at 28 wks, non stress tests twice a week, extra ultrasounds to check fluid and cervical length, pelvic exams (about every two weeks) to check for dilatation, medication to easy contractions and a week appointment with doc. All this till 37 wks when there was no longer a concern. I had to get the steroid shots around 32 wks for baby’s lungs just in case. I made it to 39 wks for my scheduled c section.
@wildtot thanks for the details! There's been no mention of bedrest yet, already scheduled for a 32 week U/S at the hospital, and already started pelvic exams last checkup because of pressure/pain; I'm wondering what this will mean for the bridezilla wedding in FL at 26 weeks...
Is dropping things a pregnancy symptom? Because seriously, I keep dropping stuff and making a mess. For example, I dropped my coffee in the car, managed to save half but most of it ended up in my shoe. My precious precious coffee.
@SmashJam me too!! I seriously thought I was going to throw up from heartburn yesterday, it was the worst I've had it. I even ran to the kitchen to get my tums, realized I was probably going to throw up stomach acid and didn't have time to make it to the bathroom, and leaned over the sink. I managed to keep it down but man it was bad. It's been non stop no matter what I do or don't eat lately. Just went to cvs during lunch and found these new Tums chewables, I got all excited thinking they'd taste like starbursts. They do not. Wompppp wompppp.
@wildtot I’m happy to hear you’re doing okay and tests came back normal. @gingerbride10 I hope the best for you and that the drs can stall the checkups for as long as possible as long as you’re healthy and not at too much risk!
Anybody else have to sit on ice yet? I am having serious groin pain like I pulled a muscle on the right side, or maybe there’s some pressure on my ligaments down there or something. Whatever it is, it feels like I was free falling through the air and landed on a fence. So sore. And it’s been consistently getting worse all week. It’s gotten to the point where I’m laid up on the couch because walking, moving my right leg at all, and rolling over in my sleep is extremely painful. I have tried everything. At first I thought it was a sore muscle so I tried walking and stretching, but that seems to have irritated it more. So now I’m resting and sitting on a bag of ice. Fortunately I have a dr appointment on Tuesday, but has anyone else gone through this? I’m worried it won’t go away and it’s just something I have to deal with for another 14 weeks
@foxbaby2016 thanks for asking! Better today but also worked from home so I’m sure that helped. We’ll see how it goes going back to the office tomorrow.
@emsnedds look up SPD; does that sound like what you’re feeling? My pain started out similar, and the doc first thought it was vagina varicose veins, but I have a connective tissue disorder and it turned out it was SPD. She’s sending me to physical therapy to try and get out in front of it.
@pretzellover I had never heard of SPD before, but it does sound like I have all the same symptoms. The pain is more towards the back of my groin though, so maybe that’s not the same thing. I wish I knew more about how the human body works lol. If I had to guess, and if I wasn’t pregnant, I would say it feels like I strained one of my adductor muscles between my groin and thigh, but it’s gotten so much worse that now I think SPD or some other pregnancy related reason is what’s causing the pain.
MAJOR VENT / WEIGHT RELATED SYMPTOM (FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT LIKE TO READ ABOUT WEIGHT GAIN):
Welp. I weighed myself this morning after eating extremely clean ALL week and continuing the exercise I've been doing since the beginning of time (running/walking - 30 minutes a day) and I STILL gained 1.8lbs. I have literally gained 26.8lbs since the day I found out I was pregnant. I am 26 1/2 weeks pregnant currently. I started at a normal BMI (perhaps 5lbs heavier than I would have liked to have been) at 135lbs; 5'7.
So pretty much seems like it doesn't matter what I do. I'll just keep gaining and gaining and gaining. I'm so frustrated. I give up and I'm going to eat all of the waffles and donuts now.
@foxbaby2016 try not to be too hard on yourself. I think a good part of weight gain in anyone is just your body doing what it needs to do. You’re supposed to gain weight! And that “healthy” weight gain number is different for everyone. Keep being active and eating healthily and that will benefit you and your baby no matter the gain.
@foxbaby2016 I’m 25 wks today and as of last week i gained 26 lbs. I started at 110 (give or take an lb) pre pregnancy and 5’2”. According to the charts that normal (not underweight). At 20 wks my OB said it was on the high end and just watch my diet and exercise. But when i asked at 24 wks she said it just happens sometimes with second pregnancy because your body is like “oh baby, let’s gain weight!”. The L&D nurse said i was fine and shouldn’t worry. So overall I’m not to happy about it but i hope to keep it less or the same as DS (no more than 50). I have a friend who is super fit and really watches what she eats and she still gained almost 50lbs with each of her 3 girls. Each body just responds differently. I think as long as all is checking out good and healthy the weight numbers shouldn’t be pushed so hard. As women we already have that pressure from society when not pregnant. Give yourself some grace and remember it’s all temporary.
@foxbaby2016 look up Emily Skye on IG! She got BIG and she is a fitness model and trainer.
I was actually 138 at 6weeks and at 5.6 that's my sustainable weight so I think you were perfectly fine before! Remember that you may slow down putting on weight at any point, I've put on 17 so far but I gained progressively. Now I've been the same weight for over a week even with some treats... pregnancy weight can fluctuate SO MUCH! sometimes I'm 3lbs heavier just because of poop, lol. Don't worry too much about it and keep doing what you're doing.
Your body knows that rythm of eating healthy and exercise and it will help you drop the excess weight after. It's hard for me too because I literally have never in my life been this heavy so some days are harder than others. It's not like before when I would just eat less on days when I wasn't active or on days after indulging on a treat. I have to eat for the baby!
