afm, I have my next OB apt on wed. last time she said we'd schedule the csection at this appt. I hope that means like actually schedule it.. in writing, on the actual OR schedule. not just an 'ehh this day' as she documents it in my chart like she's been doing. I want an actual day set to get some stuff planned for DS for those days away from us.

I think the test depends on the place. I got mine done and she said I could move around, but keep it minimal {ie; no walking unless necessary but don't have to be a statue} Even after I felt awful, they said the same thing. And to let them know if you have to pee - even though they could see it. I think the peeing they have to mark down in case it changes anything.
Yeah, GD is not related to type 1 or type 2 diabetes, so that seems weird that your OB was so sure you wouldn't have it @doxiemoxie212. There really aren't "indicators" which is why everyone takes the test in the first place.

Good luck to all with there GD testing! I took the O'Sullivan screening and didn't have to fast, nor stay still! In fact they gave me the drink at an OB appt, said drink this an hour before you go to the lab so I didn't have to even wait in the lab!
@catlady1215 I really hope you can get an actual date too! That way you can plan for that date and get life organized! That is so fun, keep us up to date if something actually hits the books:)
I haven't gotten a call yet from the doctor, but I just logged into my online portal and saw that I passed the 1-hour GD test. Yay!

Agree with others that the different rules for the glucose test is super weird. Mine didn't care about movement, but had me fast an hour before the test.
AFM, I had another US this morning. Babies are looking good. A is 2lbs 3 oz and B is 2lbs 7oz. It is getting really hard to lay on my back for the whole US, now, though. Not looking forward to the next time in a couple of weeks.
@LaceyBee522 - Love titing your post for the babies looking good, not for it being hard to lay on your back for the ultrasound.

OB appt tomorrow. Already talked to my H, but might see if it's possible to get her to put me off work as of beginning of May. Original plan was to work until a week before due date.
I know things could be a lot worse, but I'm finding it personally hard to do things already and I know it'll just get worse. Could be just my back making things more complicated, idk.
@doxiemoxie212 that's crazy that your ob said that to you...before DD I was 125 lb, ran marathons, ate well and worked out almost every day with no family history. I continued my routine during my pregnancy and failed my 1 hour GTT by a landslide. I was in shock bc I had no symptoms and had only gained about 12 lb to that point. Didn't do as awful on the 3 hour but was still bad enough to be diagnosed with GD. I continued to work out and eat like I had previously just checking my sugars, had her at full term weighing 8 lb, so not a huge baby. They did my labs post baby and absolutely no signs of diabetes. Literally there are times where it doesn't matter what you do, your hormones suck and you get it. I've had friends who have gained 60 lbs and had 10+ lb babies with no GD, so you can't stereotype like that. That all being said, it is weird how different all the offices are with their standards. My office gave it to me to drink at home and told me just to stop in about 45 min later and tell them the time I finished drinking it so they could draw blood...clearly they didn't care that that would entail gator wrestling a 2 year old to get her socks, shoes and coat on so we could get there on time...

Finally got DS's records transferred and an appointment with a new pediatrician today. The one I was using with him was just too lax or lazy or something. Never gave me growth percentages, never talked about development, or gave me any feedback whatsoever. They also didn't mention doing any eye exams or anything at his 1 year appointment or the one after. I'm sure someone else would prefer that type of pediatrician but it's been a source of frustration for me. There's a long, involved story that explains how we ended up with this doctor in the first place because they weren't my first pick, but I'll spare you. Maybe a tale for another day. Anyway, I'm excited to get him in somewhere new and hopefully more competent before I'm having to bring two there regularly. It's a bit more of a drive than the other one, but going to be worth it, I'm hoping, in the quality of care.
Congrats to @aharv77 for the pass and GL to everyone else testing this week! My 1- hour is this Thursday and, given I'm a June 29 DD, I'm thinking we must be nearing the end of the glucose testing (another one down).
@krashke I'm giving MH a pass for this appointment, though to be honest I've stopped caring whether he comes to the non-US visits. My doctor's office runs chronically behind and knowing they're messing up a second person's workday just stresses me out more.
I passed my 3 hour glucose...after a lot of back and forth with my OB office, they finally got my results. Apparently my fasting and 2 hour draw were missing, and they had my one hour and 3 hour....WTH. But it was finally found. I was like.....yea, so NOT taking that again if you lost it!
Have an appointment this afternoon to interview a pediatrician. My super anal, smart coworker recommended him, so hopefully it'll be a one and done interview type of situation. His website is warm and fuzzy, as well as practical. And his office hours are reasonable.
had my apt today, dr came in asking if I had some sugar for breakfast. guess it showed up in my urine test. told her I had my special k cereal.. like I do every morning. she wasn't concerned. but I've never been told that before and really hoping everyones decision not to recheck me for GD wasn't a bad choice. if it happens in 2 weeks, think i'll ask. Telling myself the multiple days of lasagna and Italian bread for dinner leading up to this apt is what did it. all I had for a snack last night was trail mix (consisted of peanuts, raisins, few m&ms)
oh and no csection scheduling today, boo! she said a month before, so april. i'll just ask again in 2 weeks cause it'll be april... even if it is 6 wks before, not technically a month

Baby looked good today, couldn't keep his hands off of his feet. Measuring 88th%. AFM, BP was great and I haven't gained weight since my last visit, PTL. Signed my VBAC and (just in case) tubal consent forms. I go back Friday for my Rhogam and hopefully, I'll have the results from today's 1-hr. glucose screen.
Regular OB check today. Super quick visit but baby's heartbeat sounded strong and steady (previous ultrasound and doppler showed decelerations). Very relieved about that Next week the real "fun" begins with weekly NSTs and ultrasounds to make sure nothing wonky is going on.
@stephcat421 we go 4/11. I'm really hoping she's good, thorough, and that the practice is what I'm looking for. It's a Children's practice so hopefully their standards will be higher.
Normal appointment today, heartbeat sounded good. Drank the fruit punch stuff and now I'm sitting and waiting to get my blood drawn for the glucose screen & anemia check. Immunizations is already closed for the day but doctor said I can stop in at any time for my TDAP.
@katelynrae86 - I think I missed why you'll need weekly NST's.

@krashke woot!!! I "barely" passed mine Wednesday too... the cut off for my office is 139.... my level was 130... and I had been fasting for 12 hours too....
@katelynrae86 - I think I missed why you'll need weekly NST's.
At a 22 week ultrasound (follow up to check her spine they couldn't see during anatomy scan), the tech noticed her heartrate decelerated and then speed back up. During OB appointments since then, my Dr noticed she might have an arrhythmia and once it seemed slow but speed back up.
They also measured the amniotic fluid as low (but according to my OB, Google, and Expecting Better ultrasound isn't that reliable in measuring fluid level, especially that early in pregnancy). But a follow up ultrasound showed it at a normal level.
Sorry, my responses always turn into novels. TL;DR: We're not really sure what's going on (hopefully nothing), but the dr just wants to monitor her a little more closely.

My medical provider drama may be over finally. I finally feel confident on where I am delivering this baby. I was unsure for several weeks.
