I guess I go here now.. My first post in this thread. I'm still reading through everyones post but sending love to all.
Diagnosis (if you've been): low morph
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Further testing
How are things going?: This week was hard yall. We found out on Monday morning the results of my H's SA, low morph. All my tests had come back normal and never expected to hear this about my H. Hearing the words "you'll probably never conceive naturally" from my doctor killed me. My H was devastated that its an issue with him and that hes let me down. We were referred to a urologist and have an appt in a couple weeks.
Any questions?: Any other low morph couples here? Ive been doing some research but its still pretty foreign to me.
GTKY: What did you want to be when you were younger ?? I wanted to be a nurse, specially neonatal or anything to do with babies/delivery.
TTC journey in spoiler
Me: 29 | DH: 31 Married: 08/2016 TTC: 10/2017 IUI #1-3 BFN IVF 11/2018- 23 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 14 fertilized with ICSI with 7 embryos making it to freeze FET #1 02/2019 BFN FET #2 4/19 BFP!!!!! EDD 1/4/20
@kobrien827 We have MFI.. Low count and low morph. One of the main reason we went straight to ivf that and I’m 37. We haven’t gone to the urologist for it but if you wanna PM feel free doll!
@Avrilmai well atleast you know what to expect now if you ever have to do it but hopefully this works and you won’t!! my nurse made me stab myself 4 times with empty syringes straight out the package to practice how to hold it and where to do it. It helped desensitize my to the fear that I’d do it wrong or not knowing what to expect.
I did the leg work & gathered all my records and test results for the second opinion RE. As a result, I don’t have to wait 2.5 months as they happened to have an opening on MONDAY. Ugh, now I need to shave my legs.
@Avrilmai GL tomorrow! I see adults cower & cry over injections by a nurse. So, no shame in having her administer the shot as long as it went well!!
@kobrien827 I’m sorry you go here now. But you won’t meet a better group of ladies. We have low morph too. I’m surprised your doctor said you’ll never conceive naturally. That’s not true. At all. Did an RE say that? Or an OBGYN? Please know an OBGYN knows very little about infertility especially MFI.
TWTW We conceived our son naturally so it can happen TWTW
That being said, it will take a bit longer as morph affects fertilization. When we first got our results it was 0%. 8 months and lots of supplements later, we are at 3%.
Im only a PM away if you have more questions or concerns. Hang in there!

This. We also have low morph (2%) and one of my REs said morph has no impact on clinical pregnancy rates if count and motility are good and another one said it could impact pregnancy rates depending on what kind of defects the sperm have. Due to having both male and female factor IF we ultimately had to do IVF and elected to do ICSI to get the best fertilization rates.
@ndz2018 today was CD1! I go in Monday morning for my official instructions regarding this cycle.
@kobrien827 I'm sorry you've found yourself here but the ladies on this thread are absolutely incredible! I hope your appt in a few weeks goes better and that you both feel a bit more confident about things.
@jrm_14 I always think about when my appt is and when I should shave. And thanks for the reminder that I need to get on it since my next appt is Monday too
@Avrilmai GL tomorrow!!! I'm so excited that you're finally doing this!
@kobrien827 Sorry that you find yourself here. Hearing those words are very very difficult. I remember when I was told that we would need help and when 'Infertility' was added to my diagnoses list. How are you feeling today and how is yh feeling? I'm sure this weekend has been difficult for you guys. I hope that you are both doing things to help ease the pain. You also might want to check out this board here https://forums.thebump.com/categories/trouble-ttc A lot of ladies there talk about morph and you'd probably meet some of them if you made a post there about it. Aside from that, there are a lot of ladies on there who have a MFI.
@jrm_14 I think I failed to read your second sentence. I'm so glad you are getting in sooner to start finding some answers. I go long periods of time to shave my legs too. I've been meaning to find a cute stool to put in the shower to make it easier. At least your legs will feel silky for a couple of days
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.
