@2momshoping that'll be nice for your mom to come out and have some flexibility! My parents will most likely fly out after DH goes back to work (he's aiming to take at least 1 week off and then either work 4 days/week or some half days mixed in for another 1-2 weeks) and my dad will stay for a few days and my mom most likely two weeks. Which will be nice b/c I know when my sister had her son, my mom did a lot of the cooking, cleaning, etc. and was pretty good about letting her and her hubby learn how to care for a newborn and only offered advice when asked. She's a pretty smart lady lol!
@hottietoddy I asked the store manager if our local BRU was closing and we got told no....now I'm thinking that might be incorrect! Might have to change stuff on our registry there! Ugh, what a pain! I was just sent to the MFM for a short time period (two appts) until they cleared me from the amniotic band. If it had continued to be an issue, I would have continued to see her and my OB as far as I was told. I'm so sorry you had to deal with a crappy doctor - is there another high risk doctor in the practice that you could request to be scheduled with? Hopefully your appointments with him are few and far inbetween! I hear ya on the inlaw drama. My MIL is so passive aggressive. DH is "helping" plan the baby shower with two of my friends just to get addresses and we didn't want friends to have to pay for the entire thing, so he's more of the money man. He told his mom about the date and she made some underhanded comment about how "back in her day" parents to be were totally hands off and showers were very low key at someones house, but what does she know anymore. Just gets under my skin. Maybe she should have offered to throw a shower then - we live in a major metro city and about 95% of our friends still live in small condos/apartments so it would not be feasible for anyone to throw a shower. We rented a small room at a restaurant and invited about 30 ppl....not overboard or anything. Thankfully my inlaws live far enough away (40 min) that we don't see them too often so I haven't seen them since we told them we were expecting. I can't wait for the comments at the shower. UGH.
I'm jealous of you team greenies! I didn't want to find out but DH REALLY wanted to so I caved.
@hottietoddy oh man, I'm so sorry you're dealing with all that. What does your ob have to saying regarding what the perinatal practitioner said? Go & do something nice for you if you can in laws, don't even get me started. Mine moved last June & it's made our relationship a little better with them but I'm sure once this baby comes they're going to drive me insane again.
Happy hump day! Laying in bed dealing with some sciatica issues. Here’s my bump from the other day. Has anyone not had any growth in their boobs? Literally mine are so small especially as this bump keeps growing lol. 27 weeks today.

Hi everyone. This board has been super active! I love it!! Everyone’s bump looks great! I am on mobile so I can’t really post but wanted to jump on and say my anatomy scan at the high risk doctor went great! She’s measuring exactly on time and everything looked perfect. I also have that pregnancy pillow and have a love hate relationship with it. Actually, I have a love hate relationship with sleep in general. Hope everyone is doing well!

@hottietoddy as far as I know once you are referred to a perinatologist/MFM you see them throughout the pregnancy unless the factor that makes you high risk is resolves before the end of the pregnancy. I was referred due to my age (35) and a chronic illness (sickle cell anemia). So far they have done all my scans and they did my NIPT blood work. I do still see my OB monthly right now but so far they really haven’t done much - they listen to the heart beat with the Doppler and check my urine at each appointment and they have done basic lab work but that’s it. MFMs generally do not go to the hospital or deliver babies however so that will be the OB’s job when the time comes. I also noticed my MFM has a message when you call reminding patients that they should always go through their OB first for any new issues or complaints.
That being said I have noticed some people on this board have a different experience, like someone was seeing a MFM but not a regular OB which was not an option for me. It may also just depend on where you live. There is no shortage of doctors here so if referred you are generally expected to see them both throughout the pregnancy.
I’m sorry you had to deal with that doctor though. I hope if you have to keep going there you can only see your regular doctor.
@hottietoddy yes it’s a perinatalologist but I just wrote MFM b/c it was easier and I think they’re the same? I was referred for the Mat21 testing I think. I’m 39 so... also my OB told me to be prepared for an inconclusive result and possible amnio due to heparin. It sounded like my OB doesn’t do the Mat21 at all. I will let you know what happens from here after my appt on Friday. It’s so nuts because after 5 yrs and tons of research I feel like I’m an expert in all things fertility but I’m just bouncing around blind with all the pregnancy stuff still trying to get my bearings. Love the bumps!!
Oh and I also am having serious problems finding appropriate maternity attire for court appearances I ordered a couple of things from gap today and just hoping I can make them work. Suggestions appreciated! I feel like so much of the maternity stuff is casual and I officially don’t fit in all but 1 suit/dress that I own.

Thank you guys for sharing the perinatal / mfm experiences. My ob said today I do have to go back but from now on I'm saying no to any other doctors than my regular one at the practice. I'll just wait for mine to return. He said may be temporary, may not just have to see how it goes. I really appreciate you all sharing that you are going to similar specialist. Makes me feel less like the only one who is 'high risk'. It's almost a derogatory term how they toss it around. Feeling better after nutritionist Appointment today. 15 weeks and still haven't gained any weight, so that's a big win. She thinks at this point I've actually lost weight because also have a baby, fluid, more blood, big boobs etc. Also she looked back and confirmed for me that I have never had blood sugar high enough to be considered diabetic or even pre-diabetic. This was one of the things old man scary doctor tried to tell me I am. Idiot, I have pcos. Technically I don't even have gestational diabetes yet. They are just being so damn careful with my blood sugar and making me take insulin to keep it at GD level which is well below a normal person.
@lablover78 thanks for posting the babies r us link. I didn't mean to scare anyone that registered there. Hope those locations needed remain because registry is hard work!
Thank you for the inlaw stories also. Although I don't wish the stress on all of you, glad to hear I'm not the only one. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just going crazy haha. It is a common challenge though I keep telling myself.
I really appreciate the support on a rough day. I hope I can do the same for others on here.
@lablover78 I got a couple of pairs of dress slacks from motherhood maternity and paired that with normal cardigans over maternity tank tops. You can also use a normal jacket and keep it unbuttoned over maternity dresses and skirts.
Gals all your bumps are so cute! Still no bump for me…my boobs however have grown. My normal bras were a
no-go like within the first 8weeks though I don’t think they have really
changed much since then (TMI - my nipples have also gotten significantly larger and I don't like it one bit).
@hottietoddy I would say if you have enough risk factors to
warrant a high risk doctor it’s probably for the best. It sounds like a lot of appointments to
handle and hopefully when you talk to both doctors you can get a clearer
message about what the role each of them is!
As for the in-laws skip the party sounds like you don’t need any more
stress on your plate. A little self-care
is ok. I’m skipping a birthday party too
this weekend. Not even to avoid negative
situations but just because we have had too many social events and I just want
to have a night to relax at home in my pjs so yeah don’t feel guilty to take
care of you and do what you need to keep yourself together.
@mtpbadger I was close to caving myself. I may let DW find out the about a month
before the due date, she has promised not to tell me but I don’t quite trust
her making a slip. But I thought it
would be nice for her to have something special that her and only the baby
know/share for a little while. I got to
hear the heart beat first, feel the baby first, it would be nice for her to get
a first all her own too.
@lablover78 I normally wear suits to work and it seems like
maternity suits don’t exist. I ordered
some dresses from pinkblush.com and plan to just use unbuttoned blazers to
dress them up.

@hottietoddy I hate drs that make u fee worse when they are really there to make you feel reassured and great!!! My high risk dr literally told me to chill out last night as everything looks as it should. (TW previous loss mentioned) I MC twins last year so for me I wanted to see a high risk dr to make sure I wasn't missing anything as my previous loss is still unknown as all was ok! (TW over) So basically I see my OB and my MFM every 2 weeks which really helps me feel better knowing the baby is doing ok. I couldn't go a full 4 wks only seeing this kid once. You should not feel bad but a sense of relief being watched over....by a normal dr that is!!! It's also my age that sends me to MFM as well!
@2momshoping (tmi my nips are huge too even though they were quite big already...let's hope that means this kid won't have trouble finding them!! )
@TravelingCouple ugh sorry ur still so out of it! Does a hot shower help?
@lablover78 I have to say that I really feel the same way. Infertility I feel like after 7iuis and 8 ivf cycles I'm a pro or at least know a hell of a lot!! But actual pregnancy is just a whole different ball game!! I feel like there's still so much I don't know and it scares me! It helps when I have a good tech that explains everything they are checking when doing the sono I find that helps!! So many tests it can get overwhelming for sure. Even feeling the baby move, it's the best feeling in the word but am I feeling the baby move enough?? There's always a question that needs answering!!

I had my OB follow-up on Tuesday, and then we had our 2nd anatomy scan right afterwards. Baby was so active that the sonographer asked if I had caffeine or juice. LOL I said no and my husband immediately replied that this is expected (DH has ADHD so we’re never surprised if the baby moves so much). Sonographer was able to get the rest of the needed images and all is well! We ended up not getting any genetic testing besides the NT scan so I always worry and wonder if I should have. Next OB appointment is in 4 weeks.
@hottietoddy I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope talking it with your therapist will help and that your OB can clarify the situation. My OB is with the MFM office. When I switched OB practices (as soon as my RE released me), the intake nurse had me assigned to MFM because of my BMI, AMA, thyroid, etc... My first MFM OB with the new practice mentioned I could move to a regular OB but I decided to stay with MFM for the extra care, though I did move to a different office location due to its better/free parking facilities. On Tuesday, she had me get another blood test to make sure my thyroid was all good. Let us know how it works out with your OB and perinatal dr. Also, I think your plan to avoid your in-laws is okay, and that's great that your husband is onboard with that idea. You don't want to stress yourself and the baby out! My husband joked how his parents can stay with us for as long as they wanted to (because he'd end up being at work the whole time) and I reminded him that he doesn't even like to visit them longer than 1 week! Just take it easy and share this with your therapist too! (I see a new therapist next Tuesday!)
@hottietoddy@hopeful_mom@2momshoping@cseley321 I've added all the things that I've put on the Babies R Us registry to either Amazon or Target now. I think it'd be too stressful to start a new registry at Buy Buy Baby. We bought a few things at Babies R Us last week and honestly, there's not much left in that store that I want to buy, and if the rumors are true that gift cards and rewards won't be valid after 30 days, then I need to stop sharing it as one of my registries.
@2momshoping@mtpbadger I agree with @laurad75 that you don't need to be flexible. The instructor at the one class I went to was super friendly and she'll help you modify any positions to make you feel comfortable. I would say it's more about meditation and relaxation than stretching. If you can do it, definitely take a class!
@hopeful_mom LOL it is a party in there. I was sitting in a restaurant, waiting to get take-out for a very late lunch and the baby was quite active. I was like, don't worry, we'll eat soon! If a prenatal massage doesn't feel relaxing, have you thought about a facial? Or honestly, you have to find the best thing to help you relax and still feel comfortable. And I can't believe you'll be in your 3rd trimester soon - so exciting!
@safire As for pillows, I think I'm in the minority to have a U-shaped pillow. I love it! I was afraid that with a snoogle pillow, that I'd need to shift it because I sleep on both sides. I asked for the U-shaped pillow for Christmas and my sister got it for me.
@aera11 That's awesome you were able to go through baby clothes! I didn't realize how much room I'd need for baby stuff, like clothes. I don't know why I didn't think of that. How are you organizing the clothes? In drawers, closets, etc?
glad they were able to get the rest of the images they needed @jr102217! it's always so fun to see LO in there bouncing around. I organized everything but it it all back into rubbermaid bins, just labeled by size/gender now. We just bought the paint for the nursery so once that is done in the next week or two, I will start to organize the closet. I need to find some kind of organizer/system for it and I think we're going to get a dresser to use with the changing pad so it's just a matter of getting all of that stuff in the room and assembled. The list feels never ending
wow you guys are so awesome thank you so much! I'm sorry to take up so much of the board this week but I really appreciate it. I went to therapist today and feeling much better. I have to say I feel so much better hearing similar stories about perinatal doctor and reasons for going. I had a talk with my OB nurse today. They called to mention that there was a note about keeping my weight down in my perinatal chart and asked if I wanted to go to another dietician or something for more support. Well I just lost it on the nurse and told her hell no! I told her I haven't gained and pound and my diet and blood sugar are perfect and went off. I told her details of what old man scary doctor said to me and she couldn't believe it. She said she didn't mean to harrass me and they were just checking in on me with the weight thing again as they hadn't talked to me in a while. haha she really flew into the hornets nest on that....anyway she reviewed the chart the perinatal sent over (when I calmed down) and actually all of the notes are from my regular doctor. She is ignoring anything from old man scary doctor. The plan actually sounds reasonable and I do like their fancy sonography machine and whatnot. It is really just extra care and extra tests and I can live with that. That guy really just put me off. From now on I am saying a firm 'no' to any new doctors at all, I will wait for mine to come back. If there is an emergency, like I'm having the kid, then maybe a new one is ok, but all non-emergency issues- hell no!
Therapist and I did come up with a second plan for the birthday party. It's so nice to hear others are taking it easy too and not going to social events right now. I sometimes feel so lazy or crazy, but I'm not, I'm just taking care of myself. So I am thinking now I might just go to the quick lunch at the restaurant near our house (I insisted they come close to us for lunch). Then I am thinking of just skipping the party at my sister in laws after for presents and cake. The restaurant will be lound and I just won't sit by my mother in law and play with my nieces. I am going to drive myself home after and take no pressure from them to stay! I am also going to spring it on them after lunch so I don't have to hear any pressure or comments during lunch. Beat my mother in law at her own game! This way I get free lunch and made an appearance. If I feel more tired by saturday I might skip all together as well, but figure this is a good compromise plan.
@lablover78 I feel the same way about pregnancy as well! I feel like I'm in uncharted territory.... the key for me is to stay positive and try and think about my affirmations. My body knows exactly what it is doing to grow my healthy, happy baby... I chose peace for me and my baby within and around me.... I trust my body....I deserve this pregnancy and healthy baby. I was just thinking today that if we do have a second one, how nice it will be to have been through it before. Although it might be different at least you know how you might feel, the challenges, what to watch out for, etc.
oh wow- so BRU is closing then! Yeah, by the state of their website and inventory it sure looks like it. I think it is probably for the best to switch over registries anyway from there, just because it is already challenging buying from them as is. I am definately going to make time to get out the larger items we purchased there this weekend and check for parts/damage ect. Sounds like their returns may be obsolete soon too!
I have bought a couple things on motherhood maternity and seems like they have good options and low prices. So far I have gotten just underwear, bras and under shirts. I had just luckily bought some skinny jeans with elastic waist and they are working out well! Just got a couple maternity shirts this week too...I am just trying to stick with my roomier shirts for now and then the undershirt below. I do dress pretty casually for work though and can wear jeans so I am of a different sort than those that need to wear suits. I do wear my jackets and cardigans just open though, and seems like a suit jacket might work well that way as well. Pretty soon I plan to head right into my summer roomy dress and cardigan combo. So hoping not to have to spend much more on clothes while pregnant and save for more baby stuff!
@jr102217 it's great that ur Lil is so active a Lil stinker already!! Just means u got to him for that much longer. I can't believe I'm finally heading into the final trimester, thanks!! Hoping I'll start to feel more relaxed now but hasn't happened yet... why I still didn't start a registry, amazing how behind I am from everyone...funny that doesn't panic me! I have a bunch of things coming from some friends whose kids just turned one so maybe that's why. I'm thrilled as it's all gender neutral!!

@lablover that is awesome! What a great day! You have every right to cry....happy tears! @hottietoddy I think having lunch but

@lablover78 so happy your scan was wonderful. I can’t wait for mine, it seems like forever
since I’ve had an ultrasound. I’m excited
for you to open that envelop and find our your gender tomorrow!!! Do you have a gut feeling or guess for what you think the baby is?
AFM, I started my list of to do’s oh nelly is it long. Part of me still feels like I have a lot of time but the other part realizes
while I’m not super sick and super uncomfortable now is the time to try to knock
out as much as I can. I’ve decided to
start tackling my top three that have been stressing me. Advice on any of these things is welcome
Start contacting daycares. This is the one I really don’t
want to deal with both from a I don’t want my baby staying with a stranger
perspective and I’m going to miss having any money perspective.
Make a decision on what birthing/nursing/newborn care
classes we are going to take.
Put on my big girl
panties, indulge DW, and be a good sport to do our social media announcement on St. Patrick's Day.

Yay I bet you can’t wait to open the envelop tomorrow. How exciting! I cried during our anatomy scan as well. It was super neat. I also need to make a to do list. We have already contacted a day care and got on the waiting list. They are just so expensive. Argh. Wish we could all just stay home. We have less than 3 months left which seems like a long time but I’m sure it will go by fast. Yay for the announcement. I’m sure it’s going to be adorable. I just got done with a massage for the sciatica. Hopefully it will help. I wish this pain on no one. The massage was delightful though.

Congratulations @lablover78! I feel you those anatomy scans are intense.... almost TMI for me! I'm so glad she could tell the gender. We could clearly see it was a boy on ours earlier this week. So impressed you can wait for husband, enjoy! Glad you had happy tears and good experience!
Yes @2MomsHoping would love to see your announcement if you are open to sharing. I'm not sure if I'll do social media at all... Still haven't decided and if I do will most likely be later in third trimester.
You ladies are all on it! @2momshoping I love announcements good luck with that!! I guess I'll have to figure one out once the baby gets here
My lil pnut is not so lil Apparently the baby is 3lbs give or take a few ounces...but everything is normal and looking good so I couldn't ask for more. I had such a great tech and she really explained everything as she went which was awesome! However for the first time the baby was really sleeping. Here this tech wouldve done a 3D pic if she couldve gotten a good shot unlike the other tech who was all "we dont do them ) I dont know why everyone can't just be nice! She tried to wake the baby up to get the rest of the measurements and you could see the baby moving their arm saying stop poking me...it was very cute!! This time the baby was head down with butt in the air, curled up like a cat. Funny part is not pregnant I sometimes sleep all curled up like that too
@holls214 sux you're in so much pain, is it as bad when you're sleeping too? Glad the massage gave u some relief!

So my midwife apt Friday was mostly pretty good; We heart the heartbeat!!!! 150, which of course is mostly what I came for. ;) but apparently at 14+5 It was a touch early for some of the next bloodwork? Right now our next apt is pushed out to April 24th (20+2) so we can be sure to get the AS and everything else they would need to do / get back on the standard schedule. But if I felt like I could swing it with work, I could probably get another appointment at 18 weeks, just not sure if I should bother with the "bonus" apt, or if it would be better to get that 16 week bw out of the way a couple weeks earlier?
I also have an order I need to schedule for the fetal echo, so if I were to book the 18 week one in addition, we'd have 18, 20, 22, and 24 week appointments, and I also kind of don't want to feel like we are back at the RE again. Kwim? Like, when do we get to a point it gets to feel like a "normal" pregnancy? Ever?? The fetal echo is an ivf thing. Did anyone here have that already?
Not so nice part: (***weight related***) <div class=" Spoiler">This was the second midwife, I hadn't met yet. She got very serious and told me I cannot gain ANY more weight throughout the rest of the pregnancy, based on my being up 15 lbs already. She laid on a huge guilt trip saying how hard we fought to get here, do I want to throw away my baby's health now??? I was kind of stunned, and the more I think about it it makes me pretty angry. She was operating under the assumption I'm just hanging out eating garbage and drinking soda all day, and didn't seem at all pleased that I had joined the Y and gotten back to more exercise since my last apt. I'll spare you too much elaboration, but anyway, no ACTUAL referral to a nutritionist, either. So like, if it's really that serious, wouldn't you do that? I'm tempted to email on the portal and ask the doctor and maybe spin it like I'm actually scared now, and I feel like I am eating healthy, but I don't want to harm my baby, so do I need to see a nutritionist so as not to become high risk? Ughh. I haven't posted any bump pics here, but like, I'm not huge. Chubby, and, "huge for me," sure maybe, bc I have been in ridiculous shape not even so long ago! But I've always run higher on the bmi scale too, and even dh was trying to tell her what extremes I had to take to lose weight before (which you would think no one wants me to go to during pregnancy, right). So while I know I may not be in my best shape ever, I'm also trying not to beat myself up because I know I also have a lot of mostly pretty healthy habits, so.... I was just a bit taken aback that she wasn't more encouraging in her approach. And it's been a few days and I'm still kind of stewing over it. :/</div><p> </p>
@businesswife I had a bunch of back to back appts between 15-20 weeks (regular OB appt, anatomy scan, fetal echo, MFM appt) that it was a little overwhelming, but nice to see the little one lots of times too. My OB did my anatomy scan just after 18 weeks since that’s when it was convenient so maybe you could move around some of them so they’re not all on top of each other?
Alright, I’m mad at your midwife for you!! That’s ridiculous that she scolded you like that and then didn’t give you any resources!! I would definitely follow up with an email asking for a referral to a nutritionist if the midwife is that concerned. Everyone gains weight differently during pregnancy, it’s not like you’ve gained 30 pounds already and if you’re eating healthy and not sitting on your tush, maybe they need to ask more questions to see if there’s something else going on!
@BusinessWife I’m so sorry you had to deal with that and it makes me angry! We are not all cardboard cutouts with a 1-size fits all approach (no pun intended!) Our body chemistry & history plays a huge role in what health weight gain is for each of us IMO. I would email the portal because The extra support may be nice- if nothing else than for peace of mind!

@BusinessWife - I'm pissed at that MW on your behalf, not only as someone who also struggles with having to go to extremes to lose weight, but as a health care worker in general. Do you weigh yourself at home? The issue with going to the doctor's and going by the weights there is that you can look via their scale like you've gained or lost an "extreme" amount of weight, when in reality you haven't. Water weight, food, clothing, shoes - it will all change your weight, and can add up. If you have a morning appointment one week, and an afternoon appointment the next - your weight will be different, even if you're wearing the same exact outfit and shoes. Please don't take what the MW said to heart and start worrying about your weight too much. If you're eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly or being active in general - you will be fine. *hugs*
Definitely ask for the extra resources, though, if you feel that will benefit you at all! It's worth the possible extra knowledge, even if you find out your diet is perfectly healthy.
@BusinessWife sorry you are having to deal with that... my doctor let me know I’m on the higher range for gaining weight as I have already gained 25 pounds at 28 weeks almost. I had gained like 10+ at your time as well. I think the way she worded things was very wrong. We’re all different. As long as you aren’t just eating crap all day I think you are good. I also passed the GD with flying colors so they can bug off.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
@BusinessWife first I was thrilled reading your update yay for HB, best sound!! I nned to see my baby every 2 weeks for peace of mind so I did have appt at 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 etc It was between OB and high risk so technically I was still seeing each dr every 4 weeks. I did go to have an echo for the baby as well. I will say because my test thank g-d have looked good the drs really said its up to me to have it done...which of course i did! for that one I had to go to the hospital, in the snow I might end, but worth it! Now I'm infuriated with your MW it just sounds insane to me. I've gained probably about 25 lbs at this point AND you should know neither one of my drs have ever brought my weight gain up. I've been the one to mention it and they just remind me to eat a healthy diet and that i have a baby growing and Iwill gain weight. I did lose weight in the first trimester, however I swear overnight I literally gained 10lbs and STILL my dr said nothing on it. I was the one stressed out over it AND I already have extra weight to start off with ESPECIALLY after all the IVF. Please dont stress or feel bad. I'm sure things will even out at you go!! I've been gained almost 5lbs each visit and trust me I don't know why...especially this last month I haven't been able to eat that much due to just feeling full all the time. Everyone is different and some dont gain weight and fail their GC test, its just how your body deals with pregnancy. @holls214 has such a cute bump I would think she gained 10lbs, but it just doesn't work that way. Hope you're doing ok and this MW should learn some better bed side manner!!

@BusinessWife That’s awful! I hope you’re able to talk to someone reasonable about a nutritionist. And I always had the impression that midwives were supposed to be nicer in some way! In regards to your appointments every other week, I have a flexible work schedule and with my anxiety, I wish I had spread out my appointments actually. That way I could hear the heartbeat every other week. Instead, I had an OB/MFM follow-up and ultrasound/anatomy scan at 18w and 22w. I had awful anxiety in between waiting.
@Hopeful_mom awww your not-so-little peanut!!! Sorry about the 3D u/s. Why didn’t they give you orange juice or something to try to make the baby move?
@2MomsHoping how was your announcement? Hope it went well Great list! We did the daycare circuits already and now just waiting to hear from our #1 choice. It’s not so bad but it’s time consuming and sometimes they start running together in your head! Fingers crossed — I don’t know if not hearing back from them yet is good or bad.
AFM, I dragged DH around for 3 hours Friday night looking at strollers at different stores. I didn’t realize Buy Buy Baby had such a huge selection on display! We should’ve started there, but we went to BRU first and got a few things on sale. Any time I asked DH about a theme for the baby’s room, he just looked at me weird, but then he picked out a crib set with a pretty theme at BRU and I’m excited. My mom was stressing me out on Saturday to get our baby shower invites out. She and my dad are hosting a co-ed one (a weekend after a shower that my girlfriends are hosting a ladies’ only one) but I’m taking care of the invites and activities/games. Now that they’re out though, I can’t stop looking at our registry. I’m really blessed to have such involved and caring family members, and my mom was giddy texting me this morning since I assume she heard from her siblings what they got off our registry. I was so stressed about showers and getting ready for the baby and somehow it all worked out! And finally, I slept through the night for a few consecutive nights. Of course, I mentioned that aloud on Saturday and then I slept so late Sat night and woke up so early Sun morning UGH and it took me forever to fall back asleep since the baby was punching me at 6:40 in the morning. I finally took another 2 hour nap and got out of bed after 12 noon. LOL I’m enjoying this now because in several months I know I won’t be able to stay in bed that long! Hopefully I’ll sleep better again.
Re: 2nd Trimester check-in March 12th
HDBD @ 26 weeks! Sorry if the pic is huge.
@hottietoddy oh man, I'm so sorry you're dealing with all that. What does your ob have to saying regarding what the perinatal practitioner said? Go & do something nice for you if you can
Love the bumps! I'm feeling too crappy to take mine this week.
@hottietoddy I'm so sorry for everything that's going. That's a lot.
Oh and I also am having serious problems finding appropriate maternity attire for court appearances

@lablover78 I got this top and LOOOOVED it. 3/4 sleeves, nice material, nice length.

Here is my 21 week bump just starting to poke out.
My normal bras were a no-go like within the first 8weeks though I don’t think they have really changed much since then (TMI - my nipples have also gotten significantly larger and I don't like it one bit).
@hottietoddy I would say if you have enough risk factors to warrant a high risk doctor it’s probably for the best. It sounds like a lot of appointments to handle and hopefully when you talk to both doctors you can get a clearer message about what the role each of them is! As for the in-laws skip the party sounds like you don’t need any more stress on your plate. A little self-care is ok. I’m skipping a birthday party too this weekend. Not even to avoid negative situations but just because we have had too many social events and I just want to have a night to relax at home in my pjs so yeah don’t feel guilty to take care of you and do what you need to keep yourself together.
@mtpbadger I was close to caving myself. I may let DW find out the about a month before the due date, she has promised not to tell me but I don’t quite trust her making a slip. But I thought it would be nice for her to have something special that her and only the baby know/share for a little while. I got to hear the heart beat first, feel the baby first, it would be nice for her to get a first all her own too.
@lablover78 I normally wear suits to work and it seems like maternity suits don’t exist. I ordered some dresses from pinkblush.com and plan to just use unbuttoned blazers to dress them up.

@hottietoddy I hate drs that make u fee worse when they are really there to make you feel reassured and great!!! My high risk dr literally told me to chill out last night as everything looks as it should.
(TW previous loss mentioned)
I MC twins last year so for me I wanted to see a high risk dr to make sure I wasn't missing anything as my previous loss is still unknown as all was ok! (TW over)
So basically I see my OB and my MFM every 2 weeks which really helps me feel better knowing the baby is doing ok.

@hottietoddy I'm glad you feel a bit better after talking with the therapist
why I still didn't start a registry, amazing how behind I am from everyone...funny that doesn't panic me! I have a bunch of things coming from some friends whose kids just turned one so maybe that's why. I'm thrilled as it's all gender neutral!!

@hottietoddy I think having lunch but skipping the party is a great compromise.
@lablover78 so happy your scan was wonderful. I can’t wait for mine, it seems like forever since I’ve had an ultrasound. I’m excited for you to open that envelop and find our your gender tomorrow!!! Do you have a gut feeling or guess for what you think the baby is?
AFM, I started my list of to do’s oh nelly is it long. Part of me still feels like I have a lot of time but the other part realizes while I’m not super sick and super uncomfortable now is the time to try to knock out as much as I can. I’ve decided to start tackling my top three that have been stressing me. Advice on any of these things is welcome

Not so nice part: (***weight related***)
<div class=" Spoiler">This was the second midwife, I hadn't met yet. :/</div><p>

No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion

@Holls214 how did it go?
@2MomsHoping how was your announcement? Hope it went well
AFM, I dragged DH around for 3 hours Friday night looking at strollers at different stores.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
