Monday BF (3/12)

Every Monday sucks, but the Monday after daylights savings sucks the worst.

Re: Monday BF (3/12)

  • Yes! I felt like I didn't even sleep last night. It was like I just closed my eyes for a minute and it was suddenly morning.

  • My coteacher is out today so I have to take all her classes...yay for 50 kids at a time, with no plans. She has no interest in co planning so her students and my students aren’t doing the same thing.
  • I’m at the doctors office (non-baby related) and he’s running super behind, and this lady next to me is letting her toddler run wild in this tiny waiting room.
  • My upstairs neighbors obviously have a leak because my ceiling is dripping right onto my kitchen table. And the leasing office doesn’t open until 10. Also I’m so bloated I don’t know how I’ll wear my work pants today!

@cdepperschmidt ugh...so sorry. knowing that a day like that could have been prevented with proper planning makes it even worse. :(

    my boss is crabby today.

edited to delete the boring story of my crabby boss and to share that I ran across the street to mcdonald's and got her a diet coke (her "guilty pleasure") and she will now be a very happy boss. :)

I woke up at 4:30 this morning for no reason.  And with DLS my body thinks that I woke up at 3:30.  I also have a terrible headache. The upside is the toddler was a delight this morning.  I thanked her a 1,000 times for us having an easy morning.

  • I slept like crap and work has been piling up lately. I have not been as diligent about getting my more project based work done and all of the "one-off" stuff is coming in fast and furious.
  • @KFrob - exact same situation here. Woke up at 4 am to pee, of course. I had an ultrasound this morning and was too nervous to get back to sleep (it went well). Now I'm too tired to even pretend to work.

  • Monday. Bloat. Cold.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I'm DYING over the Trying to Conceive thread. Literally laughing out loud even.
  • Had to check the thread in July BMB, and if this is the pregnant ladies’ version of trolling, I have to say I find it adorable (note the sarcasm).

Also- I didn’t detect either snark or bitchiness.  I wonder if my radar is broken, or maybe miscalibrated?

@knottieamusements I agree. I felt the responses were very straight-forward and necessary. But I don't (always) equate truthfulness with snarkiness haha.

    Edited because words are hard.

Huh- will have to check that one too...
  • I had gone over to July BMB to look at their "I'm Just hear for the Sex" thread (trying to get ideas for revealing the sex to my family). Someone had posted a thread looking for "Gender Reveal" ideas and she immediately got blasted for not using the right thread. I get wanting to keep things organized, but you don't have to be rude about it.

@knottieamusements I don't think they were too snarky or bitchy and agree it was more just straight forward, but I did enjoy some of the directness and some of the later responses

Totes agree. And from what I've seen, people usually are nice about it. Most of the responses have been "Hey cool story, here's some info, butttt you may wanna check out this thread that we've dedicated to this exact question." And I'd be totally fine with receiving this response if I were the OP.
  • @chopchop25 thank you! I definitely got a kick out of both those threads.

IMO, that July BMB has been a hot mess since it opened. I enjoy occasionally lurking the craziness.
  • Okay- the TTGP thread is awesome.  I’m glad my snark meter isn’t broken.

@chopchop25 - thanks for the validation on the other thread.  I totally get both the OP and the responses, so I was confused- which is easy to do to me right now.  :)
  • @knottieamusements while I could see OP being uncomfortable, I don't think it was appropriate to define herself as the 'sane, no-nonsense mother-to-be.' There are better ways to handle discomfort than isolating people who are excited to be pregnant.

I can kind of get some of where the OP was coming from...but she came off very "know it all". Which makes me think, if you clearly know what you want - why are you venting online? Am I thrilled about being pregnant every day? nope. Am I excited about it overall? hell yea. Am I tried of people offering me their advice on my MS? Yup. Am I rude about it? Nope. "Oh I'll have to look into that." and it's done.

*off to read the other thread*

ETA: the "trying to conceive" thread was better than I could have imagined. All the snark.
  • @chopchop25 The trying to conceive thread was the laugh I needed today! Thanks for that gold!  :D

  • @chopchop25 - I agree, but a lot of people don’t realize that their language is as rude as it comes off to be.  For a lot of people (me included), it is a learned skill to be able to say “This is my experience, other people may have different experiences.”

That said, it is entirely possible that the OP is a troll who wanted to kick up some mud on the board rather than simply rant about her bad day. Regardless, coming into a group you haven’t contributed to in order to rant to a group of total strangers is poor form.
  • @knottieamusements I agree. Sometimes we get posts and I just kinda roll my eyes. "Who are you? And what do you want from us?"
  • @chopchop Yes! I noticed the ones on TTGP last night. I wanted to comment lol.
  • Wow that not excited thread was a doozy. Glad that's not my board cause I might not have had a nice response.

  • Ugh eating is a chore right now. I can't bring myself to eat anything healthy, only what doesn't make me feel sick. So like, french fries.

Also the TTGP thread made my dayyy lmao
  • DH is officially on 12 hour shifts until further notice because the midnight operator just stopped coming to work... The money will be nice as we prep for baby, but it's hard on us both. Especially with me needing his help around the house. The only upside is that he goes in at 4pm and still gets off at 4pm, so it won't affect our parenting time with SS. When he has to cover afternoons it is a double whammy.
  • Just got done with the July board. That women (if she’s a real person) is going to have a RUDE awakening with her child arrives.

    Now to TTGP....
  • I feel so dense but i can't find the forum you folks are talking about in ttgp... Anyone wanna take pity and link it?

Nothing sounds good to me except candy. So I've eaten jelly beans and chocolate for 3/4 meals today.
  • Parent lets the kid come to school with mono. School lets the kid (with mono!!) stay at school because the kid “just doesn’t feel like going home”...
  • So- my dog had surgery last Thursday in a place that makes using one of his hind legs difficult.  I get it. I really do.  However, over the weekend, he decided that he doesn’t want to go up and down the steps to do his doggie business.  Nope.  It is much preferable to poop directly in front of my back door, which is my primary entrance to my house.

    *grumble*grumble*grumble*
  • Oh no! Hopefully he starts feeling better soon!
  • Still fuming about something that happened at the end of my work day YESTERDAY this morning.

    Gonna be a long day.
  • 6-12 inches of snow today. Work doesn’t cancel. Sitting here with nothing to do, and they still haven’t made a decision on closing early.

And we lost power at my house. Fun.
  • DH works in manufacturing and even though he has 15 vacation days, he has to put in for weekends off too since they aren't guaranteed. This leaves his vacation very slim, especially at the beginning of the year. He has been trading shifts with the afternoon guy to go to dr appointments with me. As of today, thanks to the midnight guy quitting, they have taken them away. So now we are trying to figure out if he'll be able to take vacation to go to one of my two appointments this month so he can either see the ultrasound or hear the heartbeat. Add that onto his 12 hours shifts...
  • It's not Monday anymore, but this guy (who I adore) came into the office insanely sick. He thinks he has pneumonia. There are daggers in my eyes.
