@ilky that's exciting! It sounds like I'm still on the same schedule as you. Along with @ChristenMA83

I started estrogen pills Saturday night and increase dosage tomorrow, then go back for monitoring early next week. I'm loving not having to go so often as in retrieval cycle. We got our PGS results back yesterday and 5 out of 6 embryos came back chromosomally normal. 3 are male and 2 are female. Hooray! I feel so relieved and glad we did the screening. Today my doctor is supposed to call us about our "transfer plan" and to talk about the grade of the blastocysts. Anyone have any thoughts on grades once you've gone through PGS? I know there is a lot of mixed info out there on PGS and grades and we are talking a few cells for analysis.

DH really wants a boy first and while I typically take gender desires with a grain of salt, his father- no long living- molested his sisters. I'm confident he will be a wonderful parent to both genders but I know he would be more comfortable with a boy first because he is more confident in that role. He errs on the side of caution and was shocked when I said he might shower with little kids of both genders and that was normal in my family. My mom still walks around naked to change clothes when I'm around and yells, if you don't want to see it don't look!

Sometimes he thinks things aren't okay when they really are to me because it's your child. I think having a boy first would give him time to realize little kids aren't sexual creatures and that nothing is wrong with him before feeling confident to have a girl. We both want ti implant a boy first since the lemonade of this whole infertility and PGS thing is choosing gender.

Thanks for any thoughts people have on choosing healthy embryos!

@greenhillgirl Congrats on your little one's! I was always told that grades don't matter as much once PGS tested since grades normally only look at the outside of it all and PGS looks at what's really going on in the inside where the baby is formed.

@greenhillgirl It's been nice this week. Yesterday was around 70 and today in the 60s. Just chilly at night. I saw you guys were getting a snow storm...I can't even imagine!!

@greenhillgirl congrats! 5 is a great number! And, yay! we are almost on the same schedule. I started my estrogen Sunday night. Although mine is a shot! My poor bum will be sad once i add PIO shots. I will continue this dose until next Tuesday. Hopefully we'll have a nice and beautiful lining. As for the grading, my doctor does not grade PGS tested embryos and told us grades dont matter as long as PGS is normal. We have 2 boys and 1 girl. We actually haven't decided what gender we'll select first. I wanted to start with a boy because I want my daughter to grow up like a tomboy haha. My husband said he only wants one kid and that it should be a girl as he thinks I'll be happier if I have a daughter (you know doing girls stuff with etc). We could start with one and see if we want a second one, but that changes the first gender selection (maybe we should do rock paper scissor lol). I definitely want more than one kid, God willing. So, I guess we need to come to a conclusion on that decision first. And, we only have about 2 weeks to decide!!! Ugh!

@greenhillgirl yaaaaaay for 5 normals! I thought only my family did the whole walk around with no clothes on thing. People are only comfortable with what they are accustomed too so I can see how your DH maybe not used to it. I believe he will be a great father to your kids and because of what was done to his sisters that will make him even more protective of his own kids.
In my opinion grades nor pgs seems to matter because you had women have multiple failed cycles with all pgs normals and then others with success from non tested. It’s the same with the grading so just have faith in your embryos,your uterus and leave the rest up to the man above.

@greenhillgirl great results!! I totally agree with others. People like my husband in situations like that become amazing parents that are super protective and involved and will see things diff with his own kids. We also don’t wear clothes at home but I always keep underwear on because I always wonder if today will be the day my boys will ask why I’m different lol

Question for - will his father be in the kids lives? I think that is he trickier situation.

@Ilky We'll see! I got my 1st period 5 days after retrieval, so they said the 2nd one could be wonky. Luckily, none of my other girlfriends that are transferring at the same time have theirs yet, so trying not to stress too much yet

@mrsa2017 Glad you are still hanging out with us! I lurked on the PAIF board earlier...was good to see everyone there doing well. Enjoy the moment and don't worry too much about any "what ifs"! FX this is a good pregnancy for you!!

Hi everyone.

I've spent the past few days thinking non-stop about this potential pregnancy, wondering if I'd get a BFP or not, just your typical TWW I suppose.

On Monday morning I tested with a FRER and got a very faint positive. I figured there was a chance it was just leftover HCG from the trigger so I decided to wait 2 days before testing again to see if it got lighter or darker.

This morning I tried another FRER and got a proper BFP!

It's still not as dark as the control line but it's much darker than Monday so I feel confident that at this moment at least I'm pregnant.
I'm not going to get my hopes up until my beta results but I'm thrilled to know we're still in with a chance

@greenhillgirl Congrats on your PGS results - that's fantastic! I'm sure your DH will make a wonderful dad

Trauma like that in a family is very hard to deal with, and it's not surprising it has left a scar with him (indeed it would be stranger if it hadn't). I'm sure as you say, once he has his own children he'll recognise how natural it is for him to just love his kids

@kristimh80 You have been so amazingly supportive to everyone here - even though you were first to get going!!! I really hope your AF comes asap and you get your show on the road again

I'm kind of hoping AF waits til the end of the week. I did a due date calculator and that would land mine right at my grandmother's birthday. We are close, so made me excited. At this point, I try to hang on to little pieces of hope

roisis all went good. Retrieved 36 eggs yesterday so working from home today debating when to go lay down. I now have to see a doc for hypertension on friday since bp never dropped when I was put under yesterday. Other then that all is well. My advice to all who haven't done their ER yet - take your pills the night before surgery one with dinner and one with something else a few hours early so you can avoid being sick both ways all night like me.

Alright day 2? is it day 2 or one..not really sure but out of my 36 eggs only 21 fertilized so now I guess we wait to see each day how they dwindle.

@mcgeeva 21 is great! When I had 33 retrieved in September, only 24 were mature and only 18 fertilized (we did half IVF half ICSI). But we got 4 normals from that cycle a couple of weeks before I turned 40...

Retrieval day is day 0 so today would be day 1

Also, I can’t remember if I mentioned - I ended up sending 4 blasts for testing from last week’s retrieval. But like I said, we’re getting back to transferring regardless of whether we get anything useful from this last cycle because we (and our wallets!) are tired.

I don't blame you, I wish my clinic would have been on with transferring one's that they don't find acceptable. I always believe anything can happen, so would have e went for it anyways.

@kristimh80 We had five PGS normals from previous cycles. We’ve only transferred one so far, but after *TW* miscarrying that one (5AA) we tried with these February cycles to see if we could make more since that scared us. So we still have four PGS normals (and a mosaic) left - those are what we’ll go back to transferring regardless of if we get any more normals.

roisis so totally confused today just asked my doctor just told me day two report is:
4 at 2 cell
5 at 4 cell
7 at 5 cell
4 at 6 cell
1 at 7 cell and im pretty sure he was saying the ones at 6 and 7 cell can indicate lower quality. So I guess I will have to wait and see.

@mcgeeva congrats on 21. I honestly don't even know why they give us the cell counts because in the end I don't think it matters. I would have just rather known x number are still going because I over analyzed the cell counts.

ChristenMA83 I agree with you. I just want to know how many good embryos I have to work with. So I feel like instead of stressing over a dwindling number each day I should wait till sunday and even then what will it mean? Either way I have to wait until they ship the cells they take off the embryos for PGS which could be another week. Lord help me..if my stomach deflates to normal this weekend I am having myself a stiff drink!

AFM..... DH for sale! The man asks every morning if I POAS! Sigh.... I thought it was us that go pee crazy. My husband is more paranoid than I am. Sooo I had to go buy more cheapies... They ain't so cheap when you buy a bunch LOL

AFM starting Femara tonight for 5 days in addition to the estrace. Pre-transfer monitoring appointment is scheduled for Monday morning so hopefully all goes well there and we get to hold our 3/20 transfer date.

@mcgeeva Yup - definitely don't stress over the cell-count! I think my clinic just gave me vague info up to Day 5 like "x-many are still going strong". It's literally cells dividing day by day - so it's impossible to make judgments at this stage. Stay strong. And go get that drink - hopefully it will be your last for a while!!
Myself and DH are going out for sushi and wine next weekend - cos there'll be no more of that once this little snowbaby gets transferred!!! (I should have some soft cheese and an espresso martini while I'm at it

)

We took a weekend away from everything and saw a show and ate good food and did touristy things - it was an excellent idea - and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is in the middle of this

Hi ladies, we found out this afternoon that two of our four blasts were normal. We
have two more girls! We don’t seem to make very good boys for some reason - in total we have 5 PGS normal girls and 1 PGS normal boy (plus the mosaic boy) left (and the one we *TW* lost in November was a girl too). Like I said, we were going to go back to transferring them anyway, but it’s nice not to have had a 5th fruitless cycle (we’ve had two with no blasts, and two - if you count the frozen egg insemination - with all abnormal). IVF is such a roller coaster.

Doing a natural cycle FET this time - AF arrived today, so I wait to ovulate (peeing on LH sticks before), then we’ll transfer a week after I surge (did this exercise in January for a natural cycle ERA). My best guess is around the 28th or the 29th, but we’ll see what my body does.
