@JamieH2000 I can't believe you will have waited almost a week to talk to your RE!! That seems crazy. You deserve some good news in the near future!
@laurad75 I don't mind your siggy at all. It makes me happy and gives me hope.

@prudence9-2 I'm so glad you're able to get back on track and have a plan. I always feel better when I have a plan.
AFM, all was good yesterday on my lining check and I am ON for transfer 2/28. I am pretty nervous about the transfer (not about the actual transfer but about the outcome).

@JamieH2000 yes, I’m thinking to transfer 2 next time (if I have 2 PGS normal).

@radmom27 having a plan does help. But at the same time I wonder am I wasting my time giving my eggs one more chance... Glad your lining was good and totally understand why you’re being afraid of the transfer!

AFM STILL WAITING ON AF.. no sign anywhere! Plus, this Lupron is killing me! Haha my least favorite medication thus far! I’m feeling very discouraged with this whole process today. But all we can do is keep chugging along!

@rachelh0912 yeah, Lupron is the worst. Will you be adding estrogen in pills or patches at some point? Usually once I start using the patches, the Lupron headaches go away. (But other symptoms like being bloated and rush at the injection site remain)

@prudence9-2 I’ll be adding patches on cycle day 3 (if that ever comes! Haha) I REALLY hope that helps the headaches for me too! I’m glad you told me that, it helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel! I also had a TMI question for all of you ladies who used Lupron, did it cause changes in CM? I know that’s a weird question but that’s been one of the biggest pains the entire time I’ve been taking it! Besides the headaches and bloating of course! Haha

@rachelh0912 you’re welcome. Unfortunately I know a little too well the pains of Lupron. I used it for close to 6 months! (1 cancelled FET cycle, 4 FET cycles and 1 ERA cycle)

i usually count the days for when when I start the patches. You should feel relief after 1-3 days of patches.

Im not sure if I had changes to CM...

Biopsy is benign! Thank God. Going in for baseline blood and u/s tomorrow and hopefully can get back on track.

radmom27 - Glad everything is looking good! That's always such news to hear that our lining is cooperating.

JamieH2000 - Can you get any good info out of Dr. Rodger's nurses since you can't talk to her? Or have they already told you everything they know about your situation?

@rachelh0912- thanks chica! I really hope AF shows ASAP! Lupron is not fun, but I have found for me at least, it gets easier the longer and more times I am on it. Also staying hydrated helped!

@chitown16- OMG YAY! I am SO glad the biopsy is benign! What a relief. Sometimes I feel during this process that my health luck couldn't be worse and I hate my body, but this is a reminder that in general, at least have most of our health! Unfortunately the nurses aren't able to help, its really a conversation with Dr. Rodgers about the pros and cons of repeating the test or moving to a transfer. Hopefully less than 8 hours and I will have a plan!

@chitown16 Congrats on the great biopsy news! I know that had to have been a huge cloud just hanging over this whole cycle... sending good vibes that your conversation today yields good information and a plan!

@prudence9-2 I completely relate to your situation with your doctors saying 'you can do it' and the DE option. My DH and I struggled with the same thing with our RE for the last 2 cycles. Our team was beyond confident that we could GP with my eggs... I responded unbelievably well to treatment and always produced high quality embryos through day 3. ALL looked amazing, grew at the right rates and would get my team and my DH and I completely convinced that THIS was the cycle. By day 5 there were1/3 to half of them left (normal... I get that) and then PGS would show no normals.I did the math after our failed 4th IVF and 2nd transfer - retrieved over 70 eggs in 4 cycles - 1 normal. UGH. Our last recap meeting with the RE he actually said "we think you should try one last time", to which I replied 'we also want to explore DE' and he replied ' ok, in all honesty, 75% of the team recommended DE, but based on your results agreed to allow you to try one last time if you wanted to.' WHAT? We are 100% OOP... bit of a gamble with a ton of $$ doc... ok, I know having a 43 yo lady popping out all these eggs helps you skew the bell curve UP in results, and it probably would be a huge kudos to your clinic, but cmon. COME ON. We agreed to take some time over the holidays to decide next steps, and called at the beginning of Feb to say we wanted to go DE. Now we are starting pre-testing and looking into agencies since our clinic does not handle in house. I can't believe how much confidence I have regained in this process just making a decision that was not based on the doctor's 'speech'. We feel this is how we will succeed and are excited to move on. Groups like this make me realize that courage to make decisions outside the 'norm' is often what leads to the most amazing results, and keep me at peace (and excited) about our choice.

@cmiller73 thanks for your post. I also wonder why he recommended I do another IVF cycle. In my case I did get many (four) PGS normal embryos. But I ended up with nothing. And since all the doctors keep telling me it was probably a genetic defect with the embryos, why bother with another cycle?

but since he was so convinced I still have a chance with my own eggs, I’m gonna try one last time. And I’m even thinking that if one FET fails I will not try another FET (assuming I will have few normals) but switch to DE at that point.

I’ll be 42.5 soon. So I feel like I don’t have much time to waste. Ahhh.

@cmiller73 and @prudence9-2 It's hard to decide what to do. I'm 41.75

and decided to go for a donor when I was 41. I had so many great looking cycles and had everyone one of my clinics and REs assure me that eventually it would work and I would get a take-home baby. I did not have any PGS testing but I suspect that I produced plenty of nice looking eggs that were chromosomally abnormal. Both of you ladies have so much more information than I did with PGS testing. I have to say that once I decided to move onto donor eggs (with much consternation and doubt), I've not looked back. When I decided to move onto a donor, three different clinics were telling me to keep trying with my own eggs. I think it's a personal decision and there truly is no right or wrong answer.
@JamieH2000 Any word from your RE?
@ChiTown16 YAY for benign biopsy!! I'm glad you're back in the game!!!
@rachel0912 Lupron is my least favorite IVF medication (and I think by this time, I may have tried many if not all of them

@cmiller73- I totally related to what you said.. it was similar for us in that it was definitely our choice to go to DE and our RE was willing to try again. But at some point, I was just ready to be a mom and not waste another day without my future child. Sometimes I still wonder, not doubt really, but wonder. I think that is normal until we hold that baby in our arms. So glad we have this amazing group of girls to go through all of this with...

Well i FINALLY got to talk to my RE and my ERA reco was 24 hours LESS of progesterone and a biopsy to retest (meaning they aren't 100% confident in the timing). We agreed it was best to repeat the ERA since my RE has never see anyone need that little of progesterone (but I could be a first she said- gosh I am so special in so many ways i tell you ladies!). Annoyed at a 4-5 week delay, but if it will work, I am ok with it. She said she has been having so much success with the ERA lately and lots of twins, since most have multiple failures and are usually transferring two. Once they get the right timing, they end up with twins! Anyways... I hope I am the only left on here by April... and then joining you all on the other side

@radmom27 to be honest, I went to the WTF appt ready to start with DE. It was his confidence that made me try one more time.

@JamieH2000 wow. 24 hours less! I hope that doing another ERA will confirm that it is receptive 24 hours earlier.

@cmiller73 @prudence9-2 Can totally understand how you feel. A part of you wants to try your own resources and the other part is just yearning to have a baby so badly. We are waiting to try another IVF using OE, but at the same time we have just selected a donor. That gives me a lot of hope and happiness. In case my OE doesn’t work, at least we are moving in the right direction to achieve what we really want.

@adc0417 Did you select a frozen DE? If so, from what bank? I started looking at frozen donor eggs myself... This weekend though, I need to select a new sperm donor. After so many failures with the same donor, I decided to try out another donor... When will you be doing IVF?

@prudence9-2 No we are looking at fresh/live donors from an agency. Frozen egg from a bank is much more economical way to do it, specially if you aren’t picky about donor and ok with getting 6-8 eggs. Not sure when I’ll be starting my next IVF cycle. I have irregular periods now so waiting for ovulation and then if my hormones cooperate, will start then. Ugh so many hurdles to cross

. Good luck selecting a sperm donor. Is it as complicated as picking a egg donor?

@prudence9-2 So true! It is just a matter of 5-10 minutes for men, meanwhile so long and complicated cycles for us women. I’m sure it’s a lot cheaper too than getting a DE. Lots of luck to you!!

@JamieH2000 Thank you! Yes, we have paid the agency to reserve. Next step will be for her to go thru the pre screening. As far as my own cycle, I think I should ask them to induce my period, specially if my blood work this week still shows up no ovulation. Is it possible for my estrogen to be very similar for 2 weeks!?!

@radmom27- wow so close! Wish I was transferring with you! My next ERA will be 3/21 and I am pushing my nurse to get a date in April still for the FET. Hopefully this whole thing will only cause a 4-6 week delay of my transfer. FX that you get your BFP and I am less than 2 months behind you!

@adc0417- Any chance you have a cyst? When my cycles were messed up and my BW was wonky, it was because I had a cyst. We even tried to induce my period it and it still didn't regulate for me. If you don't have a cyst, I would just push for provera so you can get going. Because once you start the donor cylce, I assume that is when you will have to pay the $10-15k or whatever the agency/donor fee is. So ideally you can get your cycle in first!

@JamieH2000 I didn’t have a cyst as per my last ultrasound in the beginning of my cycle. I specifically questioned my RE on that since my estrogen was 150, and he said no. But you’re right, I will push for provera so I can get moving with my own cycle.

AFM- well ladies, the nurse finally emailed back and we are on the transfer schedule for 4/30! its 10 weeks away and feels sooo far! But with my ERA on 3/21, its only 5.5 weeks after and thats about as much time as we need to get to a transfer. Any ideas on how to pass the time? March/April are usually not nice months in the midwest. We are going to redo our flooring, but I need some fun activities to keep me busy until 4/30!

@JamieH2000 I'm so excited that you have a date for transfer!! I know it seems like light years away but once you start meds, the time will fly. I've been reading like a fiend for the past two months while I've been waiting for transfer...sometimes it's just nice to lose yourself in someone else's story. I also took up some new spin classes that I've been enjoying. I try to do a couple of things that I'm HOPING I won't get to do after transfer if it works

I've been lurking here for a bit and it's inspiring to hear so many great DE stories. When our RE suggested we consider using DEs our first reaction was no way. I couldn't get past that the baby would be half of my husband and not half of me so we thought adoption would be a better last resort if our IVF cycles were unsuccessful. I'm still on the fence but may be opening up to the possibility...

Just spoke to my RE and he wouldn’t put me on Provera to induce my period as my estrogen is low which means my lining is thin. He can put me on birth control but is afraid it’ll suppress my ovarian response for the cycle. So, recommends repeating the blood test in 2 weeks and seeing where I’m at then. Ughhhhhh

Knottie60076601 I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with a baby conceived via DE IVF and I promise you he is very much my son. It's not an easy decision for everyone but it's a really wonderful option if you are open to it. We are a wealth of knowledge on this thread so feel free to ask questions.

Hi everyone. I am new here. I am 33 years old and have gone through 7 IVF cycles with my own eggs for the past 2 years. The first two cycles I didnt have any embryos make it to day 5. The third and fourth cycles we had one embryo each but they didnt take. The fifth IVF cycle , I finally got pregnant but had a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. The last two cycles, didnt get any embryos make it to day 5. My doctor has been suggesting donor eggs for a while but finally got to the point where we feel like we have done everything possible with my own eggs so ready to move onto donor eggs. We are going with My Egg Bank and in the process of doing an ERA cycle. Any advice any of you have would be very helpful! Going to meet with a counselor to discuss donor eggs next week as well.

@knottie7777 and knottie60076601 Welcome to our group! This group has a bunch of amazing and supportive women. I may have lost count of how many cycles I tried with my own eggs. I'm onto my second transfer of donor eggs and am hoping for good news. My transfer is this Wednesday. Eeeekkk.
@chitown16 Transfer is still on for Wednesday. I'm going au natural after transfer...all organic, no makeup, no aluminum in deoderant etc. Trying to leave no stone unturned.

@rachelh0912- Hope AF showed over the weekend! Mine did after 6.5 weeks of meds and its not been fun! But I just keep thinking 3.5 weeks to ERA and then 9 weeks from today for transfer. Hopefully this is the last transfer for all of us!!

@chitown16- hope things look good today and you can get your calendar! Its always nice to have a timeline and something to look forward too!

@JamieH2000 Still no AF but my RE wanted to see me this morning and found a large cyst on my right ovary that he suspects is causing my estrogen to stay elevated and the reason for no AF! He did blood work so I’ll know later today just how active it is and what our next step is! My guess is more Lupron. Anyway, I hope time is flying by for you! Getting close to ERA!! And then chugging right on to transfer! Yay!
