50Wife@KristoKekeroonindz2018 i can imagine how stressful it is if you dont have "enough" of one sex to factor in implantation failure of some sort... i would worry so much about transferring that one! But also cool... You can start really dreaming about him/her (which yes i know makes it hard if it doesnt work). Ive been trying to remind myself that doubting or being negative will just mean the time i have either in the TWW or pg (for as long as i am) will just make that time more miserable. Might as well start loving up on those embies! In my case, no PGS so no idea what ive got on ice! Im too old and have too few embies to risk testing. I think I'll be putting back 2 this FET.
@Augusta108 Congrats on your weight loss and getting your IVF scheduled! @jrm_14 I'm so sorry you had a tough appointment! It sounds like your RE was supportive in reaching out, though! I hope your talk goes well. @madspunk Thanks for the suggestions! I'll reach out to another pharmacy today, but I like that backup plan of trying another trigger. As for you, sorry for the BFN! I'm only on IUI #1, but we already scheduled the IVF consult for after 3 tries because my RE had said research doesn't support success after 3-4 tries of IUI. She said typically if it's gonna work, it'll work in 3-4 tries.

@madspunk , somehow I missed your post. Anyway, as far as moving to IVF, ugh. To be honest, my decision to move forward was heavily based on finances, and then a bit on science. Does your insurance cover either IUI or IVF? If it covers IUI and not IVF, sure, the extra few cycles might be worth it. But TBH, my insurance covered IUI, and I did one and decided, eff this. IVF is expensive. but we made it work. And I am SO glad we did. No, I don't have a positive. No, a positive might not happen. But if a positive happens on my very first FET, I won't for an instant think "man, I wish I did more IUIs, I might have saved money." Hell to the no. I will think HELL YEAH I'M FREAKING PREGNANT. And if it doesn't work, well then clearly IUI wouldn't have worked and I would have skipped over months of roller-coaster and heartache. As far as the science, there are TONS of studies, and they all come down to the same thing. IUI can work. But IVF is more likely to work. And I don't say that to sway you toward IVF. Because only you can make that choice, and whatever choice you make will be the right one. There are some studies that say you should do up to nine rounds. Some say three is more than enough, other six. The point I took away is that there are people that will get pregnant even at round twenty of IUI. But how many rounds are you willing to undergo? And at what point is enough enough? If TTC was a side thing, where I wasn't completely invested in getting KU, I would just do IUI. It doesn't take as much thinking or as many appointment. If there wasn't emotional baggage, I could do IUI forever. But IUI is rarely just an "ehhh" thing. You still throw your whole heart into it. And if that's the case, I'd want to throw my entire heart into something more substantial.
Just my two pennies worth.
@dragonette505 , Yeah, I see your point. At least I can care for the little ones I have, even if they don't last forever. It's just rough. how many embryos do you have? I think I missed that.
@lurvleybunchococonuts , Haha, I'll share your doom and gloom rain cloud, I get it, girl. But yeah, it's totally unfair we lose all naivety and optimism. Ugh. I hate that I am stressing and worrying about embryos that are literally five days old. Like. in a normal situation, we wouldn't even know these things existed yet!

Tldr: even in the worst case scenario, finding out the gender is worth it in my opinion.
I feel like we pretty much lived out our worst case scenario with finding out gender and it still doesn't change my mind about it being the right decision. Once we knew the gender, I felt so much more connected to our babe. I found out the gender when we got the gut wrenching call that we only had one normal embryo and it still felt like good news because he was a boy! And that felt so crazy and real and wonderful. I am staunchly pro choice , life doesn't begin at conception, blah blah but man, that clump of cells was my son.
When we lost him it was such a bittersweet thing knowing the gender. We were grieving a son while the rest of the world was grieving a blip on an ultrasound. But it was still so worth it. He had a name, he was important, he was ours.

@tamalahoops Thank you for sharing. And I am so so sorry you know basically my "worst case scenario" so well. All of what you said is why I wanted to know. That's my baby..."only" frozen cells and all. I didn't cry when she said we only had one, I cried when she told me what it was. At that point it was like game on, you're my baby and I'm doing what I can to bring you home with me. That call was bittersweet bc I could officially picture what our family could be, but I also know that ok, you're our only chance for that happening.
@tamalahoops , That. All that. That just made me feel SO much better. Because I realize the only reason I hate that I know is because I am terrified to lose him/her/whichever now. I mean, I always was, but the sex makes it real. But you are SO right. Because at the end of the day, it's my job to deal with the fear, deal with the potential loss, and deal with doing whatever it takes. And if it means knowing exactly what I am losing, more than just a dot on the US, then that's what I am going to do. Exactly like @50Wife said. That's my son. That's my daughter. These are my babies, clump of cells or not, they are MY clump of cells that make up MY daughter and MY sons. And now I am literally crying at my desk. My sons. My daughter. Oh my gosh. Good Lord, please let them be here for the long haul."You're my baby and I'm doing what I can to bring you home with me."

Thank you @madspunk for answering that for me. Does it lower your chances of the medicated cycle working if P is a bit on the low side? I sent an email to my doctor about it and waiting to hear back. I just want to make sure we are doing everything that we can to have the best chance.
@50Wife Wow, that is amazing. I did not know they could give you that information.

tamalahoops so true...im almost without words. I never knew in advance, but (tw) for two of my 4 mc's i was able to find out the sex (both boys) and i wanted to know. I guess ultimately i wanted to know everything i could about them since the few weeks in my body was the extent of their existence.
My lining check showed my lining at 14.2, and they don't like it over 15, so instead of waiting till next Friday, we moved it up. My transfer is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I have acu at 9:30 and then transfer after, so around 10:30-11:00 am.
I'm transferring on Tuesday.
Is this real life?
H is having issues, he is scheduled to work Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. So he's working his hardest on switching things around before we change the flight. I'm hoping he gets it figured out. It's gonna be outrageously expensive to change... like, 2K. but we will do what we have to.

@KristoKekerooni i have no advice but I’ve wondered about how I’ll ever have sex on the progesterone suppository. That stuff leaks out of me the whole rest of the day. Yay for 3 embabies!!!!! And TUESDAY!!!!!
@lurvleybunchococonuts peeing on all the things is so addicting! (That sounds bad when I go back and re-read it)
@Avrilmai ugh. I’m sorry your body messed up your timing.
@ndz2018 I took prometrium because of my progesterone levels and I still have one day of light spotting first. And yay for being off the bench!
@emmasemm I hope your body cooperates and AF stays away
@darkstar42 FX that you O early (or late) and don’t miss your fw
@50Wife so is a mock trial everything except the actual transfer of eggs? Meds and all?
@dragonette505 I’m glad your surgery went well and I hope you catch an egg in your head wild!!
@hlb8179 gl with your IUI! I didn’t know there was an Ovidrel shortage. That’s what they had me take for my TI and what I assume they’ll use for my IUI this cycle.
@linzrunz I’m glad you’re back in the game and that hope is coming back! Also, if you’re thinking of doing shakeology again, you might check with your dr. My RE had me stop taking it because she said that there was too much vitamin A when paired with my pre-natal.
@suzycupcake I had low P (8) so they put me on meds. The next cycle (while using the prometrium), it was 23. Maybe something to ask your doctor.
@Augusta108 I’m so glad you have a plan! What’s a SIS test?
@madspunk I’m so sorry about the bfn and that you feel you’re out. We’re not there yet so haven’t gotten into an in-depth conversation yet, but I know my RE only likes to do 3 IUIs before moving in to IVF.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): did this one on our own
How are things going?: our trip was freaking amazing! I didn’t want to come home!
Any questions?: so my body cooperated and AF hasn’t come yet. I need to call my dr to see what happens but if AF shows up on Friday after 1pm (when they close), how do they do cd1-3 testing since they’d be closed for me to call?

@purplg8r, the SIS test is putting saline solution into the uterus before an ultrasound to help them check out the lining and look for polyps. He mentioned being concerned that my hormonal migraines might be a symptom of endometriosis, so I guess that’s part of why he wants this done. (I was pretty surprised since I’ve been telling doctors about my hormonal migraines for over 15 years! No one ever mentioned a possible endometriosis link before now...Yikes.)
@purplg8r oh yeah good reminder. I’ve drank Shakeo off and on since I’ve been TTC and that’s what I had heard too. On the days I drank it, I’d skip in my prenatal and just take my folic acid. I doubt I’ll go back to drinking Shakeo (even though I have like 7 bags of that stuff in my cupboard still....). I’m glad you had a good vacation though! Where did you go??
ETA: @Augusta108 endo link to hormonal migraines?? I’ve always wondered the same thing with mine. I had surgery last year expecting an endometriosis diagnosis but my doc couldn’t find any. Just a sh*t ton of scar tissue. I’ve read that untreated endo can cause scar tissue and I thought maybe my RE would pursue that more but I ended up with a PCOS diagnosis instead. Maybe it’s just that for me. I was at the point of trying Botox for my migraines, but we ended up TTC and I’ve put it off. I’ll be curious to hear what the results of your SIS test say.

I hope it’s okay I’m posting this here, but I don’t want any of my IF ladies to be blindsided like I was tonight. I got a free ticket to see Game Night and I was really excited because it looked hilarious. Unfortunately it has a major, awful MFI/IF storyline running all the way through and it completely ruined the movie for me. Just be aware if you were planning to see it.
I’m thinking of all of you

@purplg8r yuuuuuup. Everything but the transfer and + a biopsy of my lining to check progesterone levels to make sure that if they would have transferred on that day, would it have been the perfect timing? I'm happy your body cooperated!! You could do CD4 testing, I dont think it'd be a problem. From what my doc said, they're really just making sure your numbers leveled out so I don't think one day would make a huge difference since it'll still be early in your cycle. Also - I wish my work closed at 1pm on Fridays! Jealous.
AlohaKumu THANK YOU! OMG... this stuff is popping up everywhere now!! I was trying to watch a stupid syfy channel movie a couple weeks ago and not 5 minutes in there was a failed embryo transfer....like, how syfy??? HOW??
Ladies....let's talk estradiol/estrace. Were you sick on it? Headaches? Tired? I threw up this morning before leaving the house and my stomach just feels uneasy now. I haven't taken it yet today (I'm taking it in the AM and PM). I was up on and off all last night with a dull headache Lately, any weirdness I just blame on whatever meds I'm on at the moment...is this one of those situations where I can blame it? Or am I legit just sick with a headache? lol

Its hard to say... when I first took estrace (orally) it made me fell super sh!tty. Nausea for sure and exhausted. Now it doesn't seem to bother me as much. I get my headaches from the progesterone though. The worst symptoms (for me) usually calm down after 2 or 3 days.
@dragonette505 Thanks! I'm taking 2, 2mg pills twice a day. I'm hoping after another couple of days I feel better. I just feel like garbage this morning and was hoping it was "normal" for this medicine. That sucks that you get headaches from the progesterone.
@50Wife , I don't notice it when I take it in the morning, but I set my alarm for three hours before I wake up so I can stick it in so it's mostly absorbed by the time I wake up. but at night, it normally goes in as soon as I climb into bed, which leaves me with a few hours to feel it. and YES. I'm not 100% it's the estrace, but I always start feeling nauseated about 20 minutes after I take all my meds, including that one (I take estrace vaginally). I hadn't notice or attributed it to the meds, but I have had a headache everyday for about the last week, too.

I think it might be normal.... Maybe because ive been pretty much on the stuff off and on for so many cycles my nausea doesn't last for more than a couple days, but the progesterone is what makes us feel like crap during PMS and I'm pretty much a beast at the height of my PMS lol
@dragonette505 oh last week while I was on progesterone, I hated my husband and everything about him. He said something so plain as day and not a big deal at all (on a normal day)...but I rolled my eyes so hard. I didn't think he was looking at me but apparently he was. Oh... my hubs hates progesterone more than me!! lol... He told a joke last night and I made him: 1. Apologize 2. Tell me why he was apologizing 3. Sit down and explain why pissing me off was a bad idea 4. Remind him that he dare not have an attitude about my attitude. So awful, but even when I hint at giving up he says: more cycles, more surgery... so he is invested in this process and has to deal with it!
Re: IF Testing & Treatment Week of Feb 19
@jrm_14 I'm so sorry you had a tough appointment! It sounds like your RE was supportive in reaching out, though! I hope your talk goes well.
@madspunk Thanks for the suggestions! I'll reach out to another pharmacy today, but I like that backup plan of trying another trigger. As for you, sorry for the BFN! I'm only on IUI #1, but we already scheduled the IVF consult for after 3 tries because my RE had said research doesn't support success after 3-4 tries of IUI. She said typically if it's gonna work, it'll work in 3-4 tries.
DD #1: 8.16.2015
#2 EDD: 1.13.2019
Like. in a normal situation, we wouldn't even know these things existed yet!

tw loss mentioned in spoiler.
Tldr: even in the worst case scenario, finding out the gender is worth it in my opinion.
When we lost him it was such a bittersweet thing knowing the gender. We were grieving a son while the rest of the world was grieving a blip on an ultrasound. But it was still so worth it. He had a name, he was important, he was ours.

@RVAmom315 sometimes it’s nice to be distracted. What’s your favorite thing that you’ve made recently?
@rallykat14 yes! Way to go 4 little ones!
@Augusta108 I’m so glad you have a plan! What’s a SIS test?
@madspunk I’m so sorry about the bfn and that you feel you’re out. We’re not there yet so haven’t gotten into an in-depth conversation yet, but I know my RE only likes to do 3 IUIs before moving in to IVF.
@beachbunnyxo123 you’re so close!
@tamalahoops wow! Thank you for sharing. That brought tears to my eyes.
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, ovulation dysfunction
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): did this one on our own
How are things going?: our trip was freaking amazing! I didn’t want to come home!
Any questions?: so my body cooperated and AF hasn’t come yet. I need to call my dr to see what happens but if AF shows up on Friday after 1pm (when they close), how do they do cd1-3 testing since they’d be closed for me to call?

I'm happy your body cooperated!! You could do CD4 testing, I dont think it'd be a problem. From what my doc said, they're really just making sure your numbers leveled out so I don't think one day would make a huge difference since it'll still be early in your cycle. Also - I wish my work closed at 1pm on Fridays! Jealous.
@KristoKekerooni SO excited for you!!!!!
Were you sick on it? Headaches? Tired? I threw up this morning before leaving the house and my stomach just feels uneasy now. I haven't taken it yet today (I'm taking it in the AM and PM). I was up on and off all last night with a dull headache
Lately, any weirdness I just blame on whatever meds I'm on at the moment...is this one of those situations where I can blame it? Or am I legit just sick with a headache? lol
Its hard to say... when I first took estrace (orally) it made me fell super sh!tty. Nausea for sure and exhausted. Now it doesn't seem to bother me as much. I get my headaches from the progesterone though. The worst symptoms (for me) usually calm down after 2 or 3 days.
Diagnoses: RPL, Endometriosis, MFI (count, morph, DNI, DNAS, multiple bilateral subclinical varicoceles), low progesterone

I think it might be normal.... Maybe because ive been pretty much on the stuff off and on for so many cycles my nausea doesn't last for more than a couple days, but the progesterone is what makes us feel like crap during PMS and I'm pretty much a beast at the height of my PMS lol
ETA: he's used to my meds and knew exactly what it was for, but just wanted to let me know that I was caught haha
I am so busy at work, can't keep it together have no one to talk to and I am a mess.

Fuck. I've got nothing but a bunch of F bombs. I am so, so sorry.
Oh... my hubs hates progesterone more than me!!
