@jrm_14 I always sneak and check out what other women are looking at on their phones in the waiting room to see if anyone is on TB. So far - no one in my dr office is on here but they're all on FB!
@50Wife Omg we are like cycles twins! CD1 came in slow yesterday and in full effect today!
@dragonette505 NOOOOOOOOO UGH i literally feels like there’s a little man in there with a straight razor carving away since last night..i just took 4 more Motrin lol. My nurse mentioned nothing about a saline sono and pretty much told me to enjoy this month .. nada , no testing or probing or pills for me! Aside from supplements obvi... I feel So free!! I hope AF gets here as soon as you stop.. well sorta, not the pain part but you know what I mean.
@ndz2018lol... i'll take the pain just to get to the cycle! It may be that your surgeon cleared you through... My surgeon told me before my surgery that she would let my RE decide if she (the surgeon) should do the sono or if my RE wanted to do it herself... turns out my lady wants to use/trust her own eyeballs. Did they do any kind of sono when they released you? yes, it will be soooo nice to be off hormones for a month!
Good morning, everyone! Looks like it's been a busy weekend. @jrm_14 Glad you got the talk with your boss over with! My boss is a slightly younger man, and it was pretty awkward but it feels better being honest and getting support. @RVAmom315 Nice work on getting absorbed with your health goals! You're an inspiration! And those recipes sound great. @rallykat14 FX for you! @KristoKekerooni, I completely empathize with your mixed emotions. It's such a roller coaster! Hang in there! @Avrilmai The travel sucks! We have several out of town special events coming up that could coincide with our cycles, and I'm worried about how that may play out. Hopefully it works out for you soon! @darkstar42 So sorry this has been a long road for you. Hopefully you come to a happy ending soon! @emmasemm Good luck finishing your thesis! I just graduated with my doctorate in December while going through all of this, so I empathize with how difficult it is! I think you're right that you'll feel so much better once the thesis is out of the way! Keep up the hard work! @50Wife good luck with the mock cycle! sending you positive vibes!
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Treatment - just finished round of clomid (luckily no side effects - yet?!?!), going for US and ovidrel Sunday, then hopefully IUI Monday
How are things going?: This is our first IUI, so we are hopeful that the main issue has been getting the timing right and this will work. At the same time, I'm "seasoned" enough to be cautious in my optimism. ;-)
Any questions?: Has anyone had issues getting ovidrel? They had to order it through a specialty pharmacy, which was out of it, so they're still trying to get it. It's been 10 days, and I need it by Saturday to take it with me to dr on Sunday. Seems like a weird process, but I guess this is part of it.
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Gina Rodriguez - we don't look that much alike (even though I tried to get my hair cut and colored like her), but I really relate to her IRL and her character in Jane the Virgin. Hopefully my IUI goes as easily as Jane's! ;-)

@dragonette505 I got lots of pictures of the surgery and I suppose From the pics when he was done cutting every thing looks good. I trust him, this is the only thing he does for RMANJ, just surgeries. He is the kindest, nicest person too! LOVE HIM!
@50Wife I'm so sorry that it didn't turn out like you had hoped, but I am glad that your doctor is doing everything he/she can to give you the best chance! Keeping that little embaby in prayers. @KristoKekerooni Your TMI/humor never ceases to amaze me. Vagina smurf. Ded.
I feel like we might be back in the game as far as being able to get pregnant so... I'm back. For the thousandth time.
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS IR
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): No idea... H's SA was scheduled right after I went on a mini vacay by myself and right at the end of my FW. But I apparently don't ovulate on my own so.... who knows? Not me...
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Started Metformin on Sunday for the IR. Holy nausea. But considering the side effects I've read about.... I'll take the nausea. Most likely will start temping/OPKs again next cycle.
How are things going?: They're going. Feeling like maybe a little bit of hope is coming back? H has always been against medical intervention, so I'm pretty surprised that we've made it this far. RE recommends a medicated IUI, but IUI is a hard no for H. His SA looked good, so I'm hoping we can start a medicated cycle (Femara) in March or April. However, I'm leaning toward putting it off to the summer to see if the Metformin helps me enough.
Any questions?: Any PCOS IR advice - especially diet/losing weight/not eating carbs even though carbs are everything. I will take it all.
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Me. Because no one else could do it better.

@RVAmom315 , the best thing in the IF world is forgetting, even for a little while. It's so freeing. I'm glad you've gotten to experience it.
@rallykat14 , I am crossing all my fingers and toes for your donor!!! Everything looks beautiful for now. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that some more catch up! FYI, I had two catch up!
@lurvleybunchococonuts & @ndz2018@jrm_14@dragonette505@50Wife , @linzrunz I'm glad ya'll find my blue vagina (as opposed to blue waffle, which this is NOT) funny. because Ughhhhh. It's so grosssss. Especially because I have EWCM GALORE, and it's like, green eggs and ham, but blue and no ham. I have suppositories wice a day, so it's pretty consistently gross. @linzrunz The metformin nausea gets better, I promise. It took me a good few weeks to get used to it though and for the nausea to go away. It's definitely NOT fun. Some days are worse than others and the whole low carb thing helps it upset my stomach more. I usually took it with a protein drink to help fill my stomach and ease the nausea As far as low carb, I did that for a while as well (And I'm getting back to it) - lots of eggs, chicken, cheese to make things taste more delicious, cauliflower rice, lettuce wraps, greek yogurt instead of sour cream etc... Literally just cut actual carbs out of my diet where I could (I'm Italian and I love all the fucking carbs so it sucked). You can do it!! I used my fitness pal to keep my protein at 40% of my diet and literally just kept the carbs as low as possible. They're in everything!!! My office recommends checking labels on any food and making sure protein > carbs. Powerful yogurt and protein drinks were helpful for me! I saved tons of recipes on my pinterest for low-carbing it so if you want any ideas let me know! Oh and based on my nutrition consult, stick with veggies that grow above ground (except corn) to keep low carb as well. Anything under grown has lots of carbs. Like I added carrots to a salad once and watched my carb % shoot up and I was like dafuq?? They're carrots...
linzrunz hey! I dont have IR or PCOS, but I do have two autoimmune conditions and loads of inflammation (IR is related to autoimmunity and inflammation...) My functional med doc has me on a modified Paleo-Autoimmune diet... reduces inflammation and honey... few carbs. Its kind of tough to do if you are vegan, and even harder if you dont like to cook. But it is amazing for resetting the body. Ive seen a lot of ppl with IR, Diabetes, borderline hypoglycemia and etc do this diet. Personally i started it by myself then decided to work with a functional med doc who then ran all my bloods and did a slew of testing to make sure it was good for me. Lots of ppl do it alone, but having the doctor and health coach gives me reassurance
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI after Femara and ovidrel
How are things going?: Meh. On day 8. Nothing to report.
Any questions?: Had P test yesterday. Waiting on results. Do any of you PCOS ladies have low P in tww? I’m hoping this will be the answer. My cycles are being regulated with fertility meds so what else could it be if nothing else has been found aside from PCOS? Temp charts from 3 years ago show pre O temp dips in tww so maybe it is low P. I had to demand this test.
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? I’m not sure

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We just had our IVF consult and are now officially planning on doing IVF in April. I’m so excited to finally have a timeline! In my March cycle he wants to do an SIS test to make sure there’s nothing going on with my uterus that could keep embryos from implanting. He liked the list of supplements I’ve been taking and wasn’t concerned about my weight, which was a nice surprise. (I managed to work in “I’ve lost 10 pounds since January” anyway, though, because I’m really proud of that!) I was relieved that he said he won’t put me on birth control for very long before we start, because I’d read that can be bad for low AMHers and was anxious I was going to have to argue with him about it. Overall I thought the doctor did a good job of balancing being honest about the challenges we’re facing with keeping hope alive, so I’m hoping he’ll be good to work with. We shall see!
How are things going?: Good, it’s nice to have a plan even if IVF is still really intimidating to think about.
Any questions?: Nope!
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?: Well, if I can’t have Katharine Hepburn, I’m going to say Cate Blanchett.

@augusta108 I’m so pleased you had a positive appointment and are looking forward to IVF! It does feel so good to have a plan and to do something doesn’t it? Maybe I’ll be cycling with you!

@Augusta108 yay! you finally had your consult!! I'm excited for you to have a plan and one that you're comfortable with. And GREAT job losing 10lbs! @lurvleybunchococonuts nothing too exciting. I'll be out of town for a professional conference. @emmasemm glad to hear your professor was so supportive. You take care of you. we'll be here if/when you need us. @darkstar42 I know the difficulty of passing the year mark. I as for doing another IUI, I don't know that anyone can tell you what the "right" choice is. You just need to consider what is best for you right now. I think I remember you saying that you were enjoying the break from all of if? maybe use the testing as the "reason" for trying on your own and then make the decision about another IUI after the testing? Again, just a suggestion, you need to do what works for you at this moment. Hugs. @rallykat14 Yay!!! FX the continue to get good news. @linzrunz welcome back. glad you have a plan shaping up. @50Wife I happy that you're feeling more at peace with the plan. I think it is great that your RE wants to do all he can to make sure you have your best chance.

We had the IVF consult & IUI today. The doctor told me that doing an U/S pre-IUI wouldn’t change anything in terms of if they did it or not. My husband was on board with not doing it, too. We were initially told it would ran through insurance. So, I still had it done bc more data=more information. 3 follicles from the 4 Friday ended up maturing. Lining was at 11 (or slightly over). I felt that for peace of mind as well as information, that’s what was best.
Then, afterwards they said they couldn’t bill insurance bc it was “advised against and not medically necessary.” I was fine paying for it- they just caught us off guard telling us it was billable to insurance and then It wasn’t.
I cried from after the IVF consult through the u/s & IUI until halfway home. I lost all my feels. I was pissed MH didn’t seem to register one of the most important parts of the doctor’s visit. I about lost it when the RE said something about my rapid disease progression.
The NP did the u/s & IUI. It was a bit more uncomfortable then when the doctor did it. That could have been many factors other than the person.
Now that the different IVF options are laid out on the table, I’m not sure if we will do it right away, as planned. If this isn’t our cycle, we may end up putting me back on some rheumatoid meds for a while before proceeding with the more expensive option.
IF sucks, ya’ll.
TL;DR: I was a mess. My RE emailed me afterwards & said it was passed along that I didn’t have a positive experience and wants to chat. I don’t know if we will end up doing IVF right away afterall now. IUI went okay.
ETA: I also always wonder if the nurses from the clinics read sites & pickout who are their patients

@jrm_14, I’m sorry your day was so emotional and upsetting! I thought about you as we were walking out of our RE’s and was really hoping you had also had a good consult. I hope the follow up chat with your RE goes well and that the RE listens to what you have to say. And I’m really hoping the IUI ends up being all you need! *hugs*
@50Wife uh excuse me CARROTS?? That’s so mean. I love carrots! Good tip about the veggies that grow above ground though. I’ve been talking to @KristoKekerooni about keto too. I’ve yet to find a protein shake I can stomach. Shakeology was the only one but I had to mix it with milk and a banana. That’s not going to work. But if giving up carbs will help me feel better (and increase my chance of ovulating thus getting pregnant) then I guess I can do it!
@dragonette505 Oo thanks for the tip! I wonder how close to keto that is. I’ll have to google.
@jrm_14 I’m sorry today was so difficult. There are so many emotions involved with going into the RE’s office. I can’t imagine having a consult for the next step before you’ve even finished what you’re doing. So many feels. Hang in there. You got through today. You’re doing awesome.

@jrm_14 Just read your spoiler. Huge hugs to you. I hate when they bring up the other medical condition. So what? That’s supposed to justify your lack of monitoring? Pffff! It’s crazy that insurance wouldn’t cover that. Part of treatment is monitoring. Why would anyone pay for IUI if their follicles didn’t mature? I’m so sorry.

Fav Quote: The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return
@jrm_14 Sorry you had such a bad experience at the RE. You don't want to be thinking about paying for the U/S and making choices right before the IUI! How frustrating.
@RVAmom315 I'm glad you are happily distracted from even thinking about how you're in the TWW! That's the best.
@rallykat14 Thrilled to see your update on your 4 embryos!! I hope the other 2 make it, but if not, 4 is great!!
@kristokekerooni I often have those mixed feelings too lately. And I go between the feelings quickly. I can be excited to go hang out around families, and then when I'm there I'll get waves of jealousy. Three normal embryos!!! Yay!!
@lurvleybunchococonuts Are you doing U/S and B/W, or are you detecting ovulation w/ an OPK?
@darkstar42 Hugs for passing the 1 year mark. It's hard.
@50Wife I would have been upset to have to wait longer for that FET too. But those odds of success with the PGS testing and mock transfer look really good, and I have my fingers crossed that your patience will pay off. Hang in there.
@hlb8179 I haven't had issues getting Ovidrel, but I have had issues getting Letrozole recently. If they can't figure something out soon for you, you might want to go to a different pharmacy. That's what I did with the Letrozole. A different pharmacy might have it. Or you might ask the RE if you get get another HCG trigger.
@suzycupcake I have had low P during some cycles, but not all of them. I take progesterone suppositories after O. It seems like the recommended minimum P level varies a little depending on who you ask, but I've most often heard above 15 for a medicated cycle is good, so 14 is a bit on the low side. That said, you might not necessarily have another issue besides PCOS. Even with lots of monitored, medicated cycles, sometimes they just don't work. I'm in that same boat.
Diagnosis (if you've been): NIR PCOS
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI #3 w/ injectables
How are things going?: 12 DPO, a BFN this morning, and spotting. I know I'm not out until I'm out, but I'm feeling pretty out. I've started to go crazy with internet research to try to decide if I should move on to IVF.
Any questions?: Does anyone have any research they've done on IUI success rates after 3 failed IUI attempts? Or any good information your RE has given you on making the decision when to move onto IVF? Or any awesome methods you used to decide?
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Maybe Anna Kendrick. I cringe a little at the thought of someone trying to play me. @lurvleybunchococonuts I would also give Zooey Deschanel a shot at the role!
@madspunk I am hoping your feelings are all wrong and the cycle turns around. Dr. g was always really good with letting me find my way. I never did any iui's because I was beyond that and didn't think I could handle the Injections for such a low % of success (for me). I came to terms that if I was doing it I was just going to go for it. Knowing that I never had a chance I'm glad I didn't waste time with iui's but obviously I didn't know that then and just went with my gut.

@madspunk I'm sorry it seems like you're out. Do you have a beta scheduled or do you only have to go in if you get a positive? Also regarding IUIs, the nurse at my office said that they see the most live births after 3-4 rounds of clomid. Not sure if that helps any. I did 4 IUIs, but only the last two were with clomid and as we were going into that 4th one I asked if there was even a point of doing another and that's what she told me. And outside of the obvious (money, needles, retrieval, etc...), what is holding you back from wanting to move forward with IVF? I mean, it's a huge decision so I'm not saying oh just do it...but just curious what you're researching and what your concerns are?
@madspunk they're doing an U/S later this week to make sure things are looking good but relying on opks/temp to confirm O. If I don't have a confirmed O by CD20 I'm suppose to follow up with them for additional testing presumably. Eta: I'm so sorry for the bfn and feeling that you're out. I hope you aren't *hugs*

@50Wife I’m glad that your doc has a good plan going into your FET and I’m glad to head you’re doing a little bit better!
@madspunk Im so sorry for the bfn. I don’t have any stats or research but my doctor did say that chances decline after 3 unsuccessful attempts although it doesn’t mean that it will not work for someone after 3 attempts. Let us know what you decide!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): on estradiol for FET prep with transfer scheduled for 3/7
How are things going?: good went for monitoring today lining is at a 6.5 which is good and on track for my FET date. I so hate taking medicine so this year+ of fertility treatments has not been easy. Praying that everything continues to go smoothly and that I can be closer to being done with meds!
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Great question but I’m not sure! Having a battle between who I like and who would portray a good me and I’m stumped.
@KristoKekerooni yay for those embies!!! madspunk I never did an IUI but i keep seeing many girls do 3 and done. I feel like after 3 i would move on (unless it was a clinic rule or something) @beachbunnyxo123 OMG! Your transfer is coming so soon! Are you doing one or two??? I am going to be transferring in April (unless my doc is not satisfied with my ute which she will check with my next AF).
AFM I am feeling soooooo tired today! Adding that provera in is kicking my butt.... The progesterone suppositories never affected me as much as the pills ive had to take for this surgery... blah...
@dragonette505 high five for another April transfer! I hope you're feeling back to yourself soon!! Each time I get a few day break off of meds I notice such a difference in how I'm feeling. It's amazing how quickly this crap can kick your ass.
@dragonette505 I’ve been so exhausted and low energy myself and I’m not sure why! I’m on estrace 3x a day and I’ve been on way more meds before but for some reason it’s really kickin my ass this time around. We have one PGS normal embaby we will be transferring! I’m super excited! How many will you be transferring? Did you do PGS testing?
@beachbunnyxo123 , @dragonette505 , yeah, I'm not sure which transfer med has me down and out, but I've been in bed by seven pm the last three nights. Something is kicking my butt!
@beachbunnyxo123 , we are both so close! I am so thrilled you have a normal embaby! Did you find out the sex? I sorta wish I hadn't. It makes me way too connected to the little thing.

@KristoKekerooni We found out the sex and I feel like I'm absolutely more connected to my little embryo and want it to stick even more (if that's even possible). Knowing makes it feel more real, for sure. I'm not sure if I regret finding out already, but when she told us we only had one and asked if we wanted to know, I couldn't bring myself to say no. If we had more, I was just going to ask how many of each we had, but not know which was going to be transferred.
@KristoKekerooni@50Wife I found out the sexes of mine too!! I’ve got 1 male 6BA and 4 female 6BB!! All PGS tested normal but she said since they are PGS normal there’s about a 5% swing from AA to CC grading which made me feel better! Our girl game is strong so we’ll be transferring the boy since he seems to be look the strongest!
@beachbunnyxo123 You’re so close!! Sorry the meds have been taking you down it’s insane how these meds screw with us! I kinda Feel like since we started this journey I’ve been exhausted lol
@50Wife Since we only have three (and one "unknown"), the unevenness unsettles me. It's strange because I 100% just want a healthy baby, period. End of story. But knowing I only have one girl, makes me so much more antsy about it. Knowing that if she doesn't stick, we will never have a daughter. That's like a gut punch. Which is so weird because if we had gotten pregnant naturally and had all boys, it wouldn't phase me for a second? I don't know. I feel weird saying it out loud, especially since I really just want a healthy baby. It just becomes SO real when you think of the sexes and what your family could be. Like. At this moment in time, I have two sons and a daughter. And I don't want to say goodbye to any of them. Now all I can picture is two sons and a daughter. I really wish I didn't know, which is a very unexpected feeling for me.

@KristoKekerooni Yup, right now I'm picturing my family a certain way, we're talking names and everything. But at the same time I'm like fuck this is going to hurt so much more if it doesn't work. So I'm scared each time the hubs texts me a name. I want to play along but at the same time I'm terrified that what we're picturing won't happen. It's almost like they're more your babies now once you know exactly what you're working with and I agree, you definitely don't want to say goodbye. Ugh.
@50Wife , Yes! Exactly. H and I are like, okay, well we need two boy names and a girl name. And we talked about it. And how they match. But then I start to hunch away when I think about it too much because if this doesn't work, I will shatter all over the place. And it is so selfish, I know, because so many people would kill to have as many embryos as I do, and here I am stressing about the possibility of losing even one. And that's so horrible. Like, come one. Beggars can't be choosers. But dammit, can I just be naive for a minute and believe for just a minute I can be both?

So far - no one in my dr office is on here but they're all on FB!
I hope AF gets here as soon as you stop.. well sorta, not the pain part but you know what I mean.
yes, it will be soooo nice to be off hormones for a month!
@jrm_14 Glad you got the talk with your boss over with! My boss is a slightly younger man, and it was pretty awkward but it feels better being honest and getting support.
@RVAmom315 Nice work on getting absorbed with your health goals! You're an inspiration! And those recipes sound great.
@rallykat14 FX for you!
Hopefully my IUI goes as easily as Jane's! ;-)
DD #1: 8.16.2015

As far as low carb, I did that for a while as well (And I'm getting back to it) - lots of eggs, chicken, cheese to make things taste more delicious, cauliflower rice, lettuce wraps, greek yogurt instead of sour cream etc...
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): tww
What are you doing this cycle?

Dear Diary.....
ETA2: words are hard.
Sending you creepy internet hugs!!

@beachbunnyxo123 OMG! Your transfer is coming so soon! Are you doing one or two??? I am going to be transferring in April (unless my doc is not satisfied with my ute which she will check with my next AF).
AFM I am feeling soooooo tired today! Adding that provera in is kicking my butt.... The progesterone suppositories never affected me as much as the pills ive had to take for this surgery... blah...
I hope you're feeling back to yourself soon!! Each time I get a few day break off of meds I notice such a difference in how I'm feeling. It's amazing how quickly this crap can kick your ass.
@beachbunnyxo123 , we are both so close! I am so thrilled you have a normal embaby! Did you find out the sex? I sorta wish I hadn't. It makes me way too connected to the little thing.
Diagnoses: RPL, Endometriosis, MFI (count, morph, DNI, DNAS, multiple bilateral subclinical varicoceles), low progesterone
