  • *TW beta results
So I just couldn’t wait and I took 2 HPT over the weekend that were positive.  I was just expecting the call for confirmation.  The doctor said it’s not good.  He said I had a very early miscarriage.
  • @laurengon82 I’m so so sorry! That happened to me my first IVF cycle. It is so crushing for it to go down like that. I got my daughter from my 2nd fresh IVF, I hope that gives you some hope.
  • @marfi236 fx for better results on Friday!  It's probably just a little too early!  :)

@laurengon82 My heart goes out to you, I'm sorry that's how it's turned out.

@shortstack930 fx for a great fert report tomorrow! 17 eggs is awesome!
  • @marfi236 my first beta at 6dp5dt was 20, which is technically still below the hcg threshold for most HPT... if you consider that your d3 embie hadn't even "hatched" yet... i'd say that could take you to day 6 for floating around then hatching, then maybe another day or two floating before implantation (i think i computed my implantation at 7-8dpo/fert).  i think it's at least 2, if not 3 days, before hcg shows up in blood.  obviously, good to be cautious... but not completely out yet either.

@laurengon82 i'm so sorry to hear that. i can only imagine the ups and downs of expecting confirmation and then getting that news.  was it that your hcg levels were now undetectable? i'm curious how s/he came to that conclusion without a second beta.

@marfi236 As others have said - try not to get upset prematurely. HPT are not reliable, so try not to despair yet. Best of luck getting through the week - can you try to find something to binge watch or a mammoth book to read - anything to keep your mind busy <3

  • Thank you for all the kind words.  I am feeling really down today.  I stood home from work to try to get some rest.  Hopefully I’ll feel better once I get some sleep.

@northbeach3 and @tosh24 what the doctor said was that my hcg was 8 and at this point it should be at least 100.  With that he said I had a very early miscarriage.
  • @shortstack930 Great report!! fx for another great update :)

@mage14 I'm with you on the waiting - our transfer was Sunday.  It's been a long two days so far...

  • @shortstack930 That's a really good fertiliziation report. Congrats.
    @laurengon82 I am so sorry :(

AFM, I moved my beta to tomorrow since I got my period today despite still being on the progesterone suppositories and the estrogen pills. I've been getting negative HPTs since 5d pt 5d transfer so no big surpirse here. I am feeling really down because this my second failed IVF now and I went into this this with really high expectations and no other diagnostic issues other than MFI. I have the feeling there is something in my protocol that doesn't work well for me so I will be looking for a second opinion with CCRM who luckily recently opened a new office in Northern Virginia. I will also wait to see what my current doctor will suggest as a next step and may decide to switch doctor within Shady Grove since I am in their shared risk program which includes 6 IVFs. And then I hate to miss a month at 38 so if they make me miss one before my next try I will probably just do ICI at home or an IUI with a midwife.
  • Hey you guys, I'm new to this but I came across this. I've been TTC for a while now. I'll respond to who I can
@laurengon82I'm sorry to hear, but keep fighting! I'll be praying!
@shortstack930 OOH congrats!!!! Wishing plenty of baby dust!
@marfi236 Try your best to not be too preoccupied with the worst scenario. Stay strong!

    XOXO!

  • @laurengon82 oh man, that sucks... i assume you had to have had a higher hcg than 8 to get the positive pee strips, so a level of 8 does sound like it would have dropped. :( i'm not sure what you're past history has been like, but one way to think about it is that implantation happened, but it may have been an abnormality that resulted in mc. i hope that you're able to get new answers about the possible causes of infertility so that you can tackle your next transfer with more information.

@sidilly i'm so sorry to hear that this cycle wasn't successful. you sounds like you are still able to maintain your strength and are prepared to explore your next steps. i hope you and your RE are able to determine what changes are necessary moving forward.

When I first found this board I didn’t know how much information to share.  I really wanted to make sure that I was being sensitive to everyone’s situation.  When I was 19 I had an unplanned pregnancy with my high school bf that ended in a miscarriage that required a d/c.  In doing the d/c it was found that I had a uterine septum.  Being so young, I didn’t know what to do with that information.  That relationship did not last.  Fast forward 10 years and my husband and I were married and decided we wanted to start a family.  We tried for 2 and a half years on our own with no success.  We then got with my current fertility specialist.  I did all the routine testing and found out that I also had PCOS.  The first step was surgery to remove some of the uterine septum.  After that I did 4 failed rounds of clomid with timed intercourse.  Then we went to IUI with stims.  That round was successful and I got my 2 and 1/2 year old DS.  In May we decided that we wanted to start trying for #2.  I am 35 so we figured if we were going to try for another it had to be soon.  I then did 3 failed rounds of IUI with stims before moving on to this first cycle of IVF.  Next step is a FET.
  • @marfi236 I am sorry you are feeling discouraged. This process can be tiring mentally and physically. I hope on Friday you have better news.

  • @laurengon82 wow, thanks for sharing your story. it sounds like a long journey but that there's still hope with future FET! fx for you and your fam.

  • @northbeach3 don’t know if you wanted the rest of my info for the spreadsheet but we retrieved 17 eggs, 13 fertilized, 10 made it to blastocyst so we did a fresh transfer for one and froze the other 9. Beta is 2/19.

Hope everyone else else is doing well!!

  • @shortstack930 fx for you so hard!!!

AFM I had my cervical dilation and hysteroscopy yesterday they removed a polyp on my cervix and some excess that was causing some blockage. Good to go moving forward for transfer everything is nice and open now thank God!!! How’s everyone else doing? I know we had a bunch of graduates anyone still awaiting transfers?
  • @beachbunnyxo123 Great news!! I'm awaiting transfer still. As soon as March AF shows, then can start meds for it. Looks like I'll be the end of March if everything goes as planned.

AFM They just called, we have 2 PGS normals...all girls. Eeek! It's finally feeling real somewhat!
