Re: January 2018 IVF

  • Looks like great progress all round ladies!!
    @marfi236 congrats on 12 eggs - that's a great number
    And hang in there everyone waiting on results - don't fret yet xx  For me last time - although things did not work out in the end - I did have a successful implantation, and I can say that I did not feel a single thing - absolutely no spotting or cramping. I know everyone is different - but please don't assume that because you can't feel anything that nothing is happening. Best of luck to everyone having betas in the next couple of days, I'll be thinking of you all xxx

    AFM - where is my frickin AF?! I'm sorry - I know it's a minor thing to be waiting on compared to ye all, but I'm just so frustrated. 9 days late today and barely any spotting. My clinic doesn't do BCP before starting - so it is just a case of waiting it out. I've been waiting to get started since last November and I'm just making myself upset now. I'm actually going to hover between the Feb group and this one - I'm not abandoning ye all!! - it's just for my own peace of mind xx
    (actually @northbeach3 - do you mind if I clone your spreadsheet and share it with the Feb ladies? I see someone has already expressed interest in having one and it's such a great way to keep track of everything happening)

    @hoffmanr7 so very sorry!  :(
  • hi ladies, @roisis inquired about copying the google sheet for the feb board ladies. i hope you don't mind, but i just added a "february tab" to the worksheet and updated the title of the google doc to "The Bump 2018 cycles."  I did this because I geek out about data (i teach statistics). My plan was to do a "summary" at the end of the january cycle to illustrate the range in numbers retrieved vs. fertilized (and share it of course). But... I know many of you are on the cusp of february transfers, so this will allow us to continue to track your progress into the coming months.

    both sheets are accessible from the original link, but if you want a direct link:

    Our January worksheet
    February worksheet

    If you're on other boards (e.g., FET, IUI)... I'm welcome for people to add tabs and manage their own worksheets within the document. I think we all appreciate hearing about each others cycles because the data is a point of reference for us and can help illustrate the range of responses.

  • @kristim80 dont worry too much- I would say half of people going through IVF (from what I have seen) have their follistim/gonal/menopur/whatever increased or decreased during the cycle. It just means they want to either slow down the growth a bit (so you dont overstim or grow too fast) or help them grow more/faster. Totally normal.

    @kristimh80 I agree with @kiwi2628. I was super bummed that things were slow to start and they doubled my dose. I thought I was doomed but then it worked out fine and they retrieved 11 eggs. Close monitoring and dosage adjustments is why we pay them the big bucks!

  • @halfanewt I am so happy for you.  I'm glad that at least one of us got a positive.  Both DH and I took the rest of the day off yesterday after we got the news.  Nick has always been pretty upbeat and stoic through this whole process but he took the news hard.  This was the first time I've seen him cry during our whole infertility journey.  I think we both feel a lot differently about this negative than the rest.  This feels more like an actual loss....because it is.

    @halfanewt yay that’s great!! Hoping for a great number tomorrow

    @hoffmanr7 I’m sorry to hear that your husband is taking it hard but I’m glad to hear that he feels comfortable to express his emotions. I feel like there must be so many times when our SOs might feel a little disconnected since we are the ones physically going through the treatment. Hugs to you.

    @northbeach3 woohoo that’s great! Hoping for a good number on Monday!!

    @ed2018 my trigger shots weren’t intramuscular they were in the stomach so they weren’t bad. Have you ever done an IM injection before?

    @kiwi2628 I am getting antsy for you!!! I can only imagine how you feel!!!

    @marfi236  great report!! Looking forward to your update!

    edit- bump ate my post
  • So sorry to hear about your lost @hoffmanr7.  I found that in this life  all the bad things that happened made me stronger, I hope this will be your case too.
      Congrats to all new  mothers !!! Probably is the most beautiful  feeling in the word.
       I hope everything goes well for All, as for me I have my day 10 scan tomorrow and I'm  hoping that my follicles  are growing; depending on this they will tell me if I will have ER  Monday or wednesday.  Good luck all and sweet dreems

  • @halfanewt This is amazing! So happy for you!
    @northbeach3 Fantastic news, try to stay calm during the weekend, although I know how hard that is!
  • @shortstack930 Do you have any idea  how much AFC can vary from month to month and what can influence it? I had a check in December and they counted close to 30. In January I had only 9 on my initial scan and then the number went up to 18 on day 5. I had about 12-13 mature follicles by trigger day but ended up with only 8 eggs and the rest was empty follicles. So I'm thinking I probably need to pick a better month for IVF#3 if need be.
