  • I despise Cadbury Cream Eggs. Mil always gets DH and I a shared basket and puts a ton of them in it. She knows I hate them.
  • My favorite candy season of the year is Easter, because Cadbury Cream Eggs are my jam.
    This, but substitute STALE peeps.
“My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage." - Aunt Frances”
  • @episcowitch STALE peeps?  Not a peep fan at all, but can’t image them stale. Toasted, I could maybe have a peep smore.

  • Peep smores are insanely delicious.

Maybe it's because I only get them after the children have abandoned them a few days after Easter, but I like what I like!

  • I hate the men/woman set that woman’s says eating for two, but the man’s says drinking for three. The woman’s isn’t so bad, but my baby is not going to be drinking for many many years therefore you aren’t not drinking for three. Drinking for two maybe...
  • I think sardines are delicious.
  • Not trying to rock the boat too much, but I think that money definitely matters when trying to decide if/when to have a baby. Even if you go super simple with baby stuff, kids are expensive. Newborns are/can be stressful (especially with sleep deprivation), and when finances are tight, things can get miserable really quick. This is NOT to say that I don't think people who aren't financially stable shouldn't have kids, more so that they may have more difficult situations to face.

Please feel free to ask me questions about this if this is rude AF to you, I could probably clarify and not seem so witchy.
  • Oh, the conception part???  Hell's no.  So gross. And to top it off, as an azoo wife, the ones that reference daddy's super-swimmers just make my heart hurt. :(

@SkilledSailor. I could see how stuff like that can be cute!  I will want one for daddy's little helper with hand tools, since he's a Contractor... I will not be needing one that says something about the one that slipped through the goalie.   :s
  • @veslick Apparently you're still pregnant from the first time! 317 weeks and 5 days must be some kind of world record!

@BusinessWife @SkilledSailor I agree that those shirts are just gross. I don't think the following ones fall under that category. At least I hope not! From Chapters/Indigo if anyone is interested.
    - started from the belly now I'm here (Drake reference)
    - after party my crib 2 AM
    - they see me strollin'
    - I'm told I like hockey (we might need to get this one)
    - I'll have a bottle of the house white (with a baby bottle on it)
    - the snuggle is real (I bought this one some time ago)

    There's other ones I'm sure.

  • @starla @nlc8424 I love those! I guess for me, the onesie wording distinction is whether it's offensive or feeding a stereotype. I kinda want some of the ones y'all just listed though..

I don’t like all the threads being specifically designated each week. Sure, have some weekly things but every. single. thread? It makes it so boring. We didn’t have threads like this last time I was pregnant. Nothing blew up and it was more fun. I expect I’ll get flamed for this. No fucks given.
Last time around we didn't have so many scheduled check in threads, just like one thing a day. So I'm a little overwhelmed by all the scheduled threads but maybe it will calm down or I will get used to it.
  • UO: I don’t care about Tom Brady. People seem to either love or hate him. I factually understand that he is an excellent athlete but am ambivalent about him in general.
    Tom who?

Lol, I'm right there with you.
  • I also just want to put out there regarding some of the milk drunk/boob man onesies that you might change your mind if you end up breastfeeding. I struggled with breastfeeding a lot with DS at first, but I was so proud of being able to provide him nourishment from my own body, it was really empowering. I never did buy or receive any shirts like that, but I wouldn't avoid having him wear it if I did have one. Just some food for thought.
  • @starla hubby bought the "I'll have a bottle of the house white," onsie for our first baby. I thought it was cute. He also got one that said, "As seen on Facebook," which made me laugh cause we post a lot of pictures of our kiddo on Facebook. Then he got a ton more with I don't know what all on them and I was all, "dude. Please stop."
  • @spottedginger @stothi I actually don't care about sports or anything related. However, I do find it hysterical how up-in-arms people get about Brady and the Pats in general so I like to fan the fires. And, I think my family might actually disown me if I didn't at least pretend to support Pats nation (they know I don't care but I and the kids sport the gear when requested)
  • @episcowitch my bff! Stale peeps 4 life! Fresh peeps are all sorts of disgusting, but 3 day old peeps - perfection.
  • @veslick - I'd prefer monthly threads for some topics because i definitely cant tell which week it is. I also wish all weekly threads started on the same date -e.g. monday excepy for the daily Twatwaffle tuesdays, UO thursdays, etc. Because i cant remember which day the freaking stm+ is supposed to start or the weekly check in, so its all sorts of confusion over here.
I have to keep checking the list in the stickied organization thread. I can't remember to save my life!

    Yay!!!!!

Yasssss! Can it always please be "w/o *sunday's date*" ???!!!
Also, I'm not liking how many threads have the bulleted response thingy. I click on the thread because I'm interested in the general topic and then I never post because I find answering the random bullets tedious and feel it restricts discussion. I get including his far along you are and if you're FTM/STM or other relevant things for context. But if I'm looking to discuss breastfeeding versus formula, I really do not care what your favorite drink at Starbucks is or what the best part of your day was today.

I'm honestly not a fan of the bullet points or the gtky type questions in the threads. I love a good get to know you, but I'd rather just have a separate gtky/random fun question thread that everyone can participate in instead of one in every different thread that not everyone checks on.
I was planning to start next week's AMA thread if no one gets there first. I'll try it with a more open format/open ended question with no extra gtky. I'm cool to play around a bit and see if that format is more to this groups liking.

  • Totally agree about the random weekly check-ins - Some have like a Thursday date? Wtf? Also in general I think I'd prefer if there was just 1 check in thread each week, and you posted in it when it was your "day" to switch over to a new week. Otherwise there are going to be 16 new threads every months that are just check-ins, which seems a bit excessive.

Maybe I'm missing it - but is there like a general "random" threads? Is that supposed to go in the daily thread, i.e. "UO Thursday"? Because I always feel like if I don't have a UO that's not where I should post...

I want to love this board but I'm still finding it confusing and I am NOT a newbie to forums.

  • @yogapants247 Yes, there's a weekly randoms thread and a weekend randoms thread.

I like a lot of the weekly check-ins but I'm coming from TTGP where I'm use to daily check-ins. I think some would do well as monthly, like the Symptoms thread.
  • @yogapants247 I've been putting a weekday + date (example: WTF Wednesday 1/31) because there would eventually just be a bunch of threads labeled "WTF Wednesday" and it wouldn't be as straightforward to figure out which one is the most recent. People sometimes post in the old ones and then similarly titled threads are near each other. The date helps distinguish.

I'm sorry if that wasn't the best way to go about it!
  • This is probably a huge UO but I miss the days of ticker change days. I find it hard to keep up with the EDD by week checkins because of how long the threads get, and then I feel like I’m just posting and ghosting. Once a thread gets 20-30 posts deep I just give up and stop checking it. If we did ticker changes at least the whole group would be divided by 7 and not 4. But that’s just me.
  • @Wishilivedinflorida I agree, I am not crazy about the due date weeks, but I'd learn to live with it if that's what we continue with. The ticker changer got me so excited about making it to the next week, like a mini graduation.
  • In general, I think there are too many check ins and too many rules about what should go where and at what time. It halts conversation, so it feels like many of us are just talking at each other instead of connecting.

I’ve been more active on the reddit BM sub, but I haaaate their format for sorting posts so it pains me.
