Re: January 2018 IVF

  • Congrats everyone!! This gives me so much hope. I’m currently sitting here drinking water since my bladder wasn’t full enough for my trial transfer. When they mean full man they mean full!  Still waiting on my PGS.

January was definitely a lucky month!  Send me good vibes in March!
  • Congratulations to everyone!!!  I am so excited how many BFPs there have been this month!

  • @mage14 good luck with the trigger shot. I did mine last Thursday and was nervous! It all wound up to be ok, I even had an issue getting all the hcg out of the bottle. I was terrified of the retrieval but I live to tell the tale
  • Oh god, I just got a VM from my doctor and its past office hours so I cant call back. The voicemail is so ominous. 'So we got the PGS testing back on your embryos...I was glad to see a good result today and so we'll consider that in light of some of this genetic testing'. That sounds....less than ideal, which of course has me all worried now. Whyyyyy call after office hours when I can't call back.
  • @kiwi2628 that is a bizarre message! I’m sorry :/ hopefully you’ll get clarity tomorrow.

@efavell02 bump month board. Like how we are on the infertility board, they make board for each month, so we would be due in October, so there is a board made for all other October moms so you can discuss ultrasound results, blood tests, what to buy etc... while pregnant. If you search here:

    https://forums.thebump.com/categories/the-bump-month-clubs

They have them for every month, but no october yet which is weird because they normally make them a month or two in advance
thanks for letting us know about the updated board, @kiwi2628. i did pop over there, but i have to say i'm a little hesitant to jump in. i feel like i have such a strong affinity for all the infertility warriors on this thread that it feels a little weird to be among so many women on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc pregnancies. i think i remember reading that it will eventually be time to "graduate" to a new board, and i'm at least wondering if there's a "first time moms" board. clearly i haven't explored much... so please excuse my daftness if it's very obvious.

@northbeach3 @hoping4lilbit @kiwi2628 @efavell02 Wow - congratulations ladies - so delighted to hear your positive results!
@kiwi2628 - that is a really bizarre message, sometimes docs can make things sound a lot worse than they are though. Hope you get good clarification today <3
ASabelkokristimh80 best of luck in your ERs!!

Such amazing result from January already!
Sorry ladies - I must admit to have been lurking a little over the last few days. Was going frantic not having AF but she finally arrived on Sunday night so I'm going in for my baseline now and hoping I can start stims this evening.
@shortstack930 GL with the monitoring - looks like I should be right behind you!

  • @northbeach3 Girl, I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to jump over to the other boards yet! I know there's a "Success After IF" Board. I wonder if a thread could be started there for like a safe haven for us that did fertility treatments. I'm sure as time goes by, and it all sinks in, you'll be more comfortable getting onto the October board. But I do like the idea of a Mamas after IF board or something.

  • @northbeach3 I know how you feel. I’m sitting here waiting for my 2nd beta and so nervous. I think even once you’re successful after IF you tend to have different anxieties than someone who hasn’t gone through IF. If things keep progressing normally, maybe I’ll feel like a normal mama. But that’s going to take a while. I still feel like a IF patient....

  • @hoffmanr7 I wish you the best of luck on your journey
  • @ed2018 i just learned this myself... select the "paragraph" icon from the editing bar... it's the sixth box. there's a dropdown selection and the last option says "spoiler" -- it will populate a grey box and you type what you want to "hide" within the grey box.

anything outside the grey box will be visible.

AFM we have one embryo that was frozen and biopsied for PGS testing. Praying that this one stays strong and tests normal!

@hoffmanr7- sorry to see your update. The financial aspect of this is so hard. We are pursuing Donor egg, but another good option if you are open to adoption is embryo adoption/donation. It can often be much cheaper and quicker than traditional adoption and you get to carry the baby too :) sorry if I am giving unsolicited advice but just wanted to mention it since we looked in that option as well!

    @j1006 good luck with everything
  • @northbeach3 I get it. The PAIF is a bit slower for me and people are more off-pace from your own pregnancy, which is why I am jumping to the Oct board, but I get wanting to stay with IF people. If it makes you feel any better, most BMB have a weekly PAIF check in, and I know (have been talking with) 3 other people ( @pebbledam and @Sailing_Mama and @zwink1 ) who all dealt with various levels of IF and are over on the Oct board, so you would be in great company!
  • @hoffmanr7 I am so sorry that you're in this position. I hope you get whatever you need out of your WTF appointment with your RE and you are able to move on and build your family in whatever way you and YH are comfortable with. Thinking of you.

@ASabelko oh my! that is a haul! congrats and fx for lots of mature fertilization eggos!

@tosh24 don't have any BD before transfer!! i've been reading up on possibilities of multiples and saw several examples of multiples from transferred embryo + natural ovulation! QUADS!!! eek!

fx crossed for your little frostie, @beachbunnyxo123 and good PGS results.

@marfi236 yea, 2 more! the extra frosties was a surprise to me too! glad you're feeling better about the one you transferred!

@hoffmanr7 i know that's a difficult conclusion to come to, but its really hard to separate the finances from it. i'm always impressed and amazed that women have gone through multiple IVF cycles given the cost. i was curious to know more about how embryo donation worked because there's got to be plenty of women who are not going to transfer all of their embryos.  in any event, good luck as you take your next steps in the process.
