This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

Re: IF testing and treatment- week of 1/29
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Testing - I have my ultrasound coming up next week and then bloodwork with the next cycle.
How are things going?: Ok - I hate the waiting. And this cycle is already being wonky - the month I finally decide to give up temping to relieve some stress of course my body does weird things! I still haven't gotten a positive OPK and usually do starting on day 16 or 17 - I am on day 19 now and they are still pretty white (and mine usually darken up for a few days before getting positive). My O has 3 more days to happen or I lose my chance at bloodwork for the next cycle as I will be away on a work trip for 2 weeks and I would be leaving before day 3. And I just want answers!
Any questions?: Not this week!
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? So far probably Disneyland! But I have a feeling after my upcoming work trip that answer may change as I will be going to Vienna, London, and Edinburgh and they all look amazing!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI w/ injectables 1/23/18. Betas 2/2/18 & 2/5/18
How are things going?: All the feeings have hit me. I’ve been in an especially awful mood the past 48hours. I also didn’t realize I’d have weekly appointments with the RE until 10weeks, once/if ART is successful. I legitimately have no time off work left for weekly appointments. I’m in the headspace “this isn’t going to work, and here is what is to blame.” Clearly, unhealthy cognitive patterns. These 10 days between IUI & beta have been unexpectedly tougher than I anticipated.
Any questions?: Other than ways to apologize to M.H. for being a jerk, nope.
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? Probably Scotland Highlands. When I went, it was so beautiful & green, even though it was winter. Everything about Scotland was great for my soul.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I started Estradriol on 1/22 twice a day to help build my lining back up after the surgery, progestrone will start on 2/13 twice a day. Still taking all my vitamins and everything. I think I’m going to start making smoothies in the morning again with my green vibrance. I want Body to be in the best shape for the March FET.
How are things going?: Going ok. I’m pretty sure the estadriol is making me emotional and cranky. I was Talking to my niece about The Land Before Time and about Little foots mommy and I just Started HYSTERICALLY CRYING and then started laughing because I was crying. Oh boy! I’m a total train wreck lol
Any questions?:
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed?
One of the most peaceful, beautiful places that comes to mind when I think of my favorite hmmmm I’m going to go with Lake Tahoe, CA..also Antigua (any carribean island for that matter) ... love Europe too!! Just too many enchanting places in this world to call 1 my favorite!
@jrm_14 Beta is close! Are you going to test beforehand? GL!
@ndz2018 I hear you about getting your body ready, mine is no where near ready!
AFM...
Diagnosis (if you've been): Secondary infertility due to mild MFI, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO/WF IUI #3
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI #3.
How are things going?: OK. Started Clomid Saturday/CD 3 and have had brutal headaches since then. I think it's partly the weather too. Waiting on the pharmacy to call with my payment for the injectibles...always a good time. Also waiting on my AMH results - retested Friday, first time since last February. Hoping they're still decent.
Any questions?:
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? St. Thomas! Our honeymoon 6 years ago - all inclusive, not a care in the world. We've been trying to figure out a way to get back there since then. Probably not going to happen anytime soon

@jrm_14 I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Trying to schedule appointments around work/life can be hard and on top of everything else you're going through it must be frustrating.
@ndz2018 glad the surgery went well! Sorry you're dealing with the side effects of estrogen.
Diagnosis (if you've been): secondary IF due to endometriosis
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): stimming!! ER hopefully next week with fresh transfer after.
How are things going?: Not too bad. I've gotten red itchy bumps where I inject the Gonal-F each time but they seem to go away within 24 hours. I had some bloodwork done this morning so they'll call me later to let me know what dose to start the Menopur at tonight. Then my first monitoring ultrasound Wednesday morning!
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? Well our favorite place to vacation is Disney World, but DH and I took a really nice trip to California for our one year wedding anniversary. We flew to San Francisco, spent a few days there, then rented a Mustang convertible and drove down the coast to Los Angeles, where we spent another few days.

@ndz2018 Your emotions sound pretty on point! I made the mistake of catching up on This Is Us while doped up on fertility drugs. Dumbest.Move.Ever.
@RVAmom315 ah sorry about the headache!!! I hope it goes away soon, that sucks! FX your labs look good!
Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI - Low Count
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ER TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! I'm nervous as all hell! Have to be there at 10:45 and ER is at 11:15.
How are things going?: Good. I'm glad to be over the stim process. It went quickly and wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I'm totally bloated and feel the extra stuff on my insides with every step I take...but my jeans still fit so I'm considering that a win! lol
And at my scan yesterday, the doctor actually did it and said I was like responding perfectly to the meds and even said it was textbook and exactly what they'd want to see. So I'm glad! I feel like I'll be an anxious mess for at least the next week until we know what we're working with!
Any questions?: Just tell me I'll survive the ER tomorrow. I don't know why I'm freaked out, but I am FREAKED OUT! I think it's my type A and wanting to be in control and now tomorrow I'll be out with my legs up in the air. Sounds fun, right?? Ugh!
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? I loved Jamaica and Aruba. We did Aruba for our Honeymoon and said we'd try and go back for our 10 year anniversary (which will be next year, holy shit how did that happen?!). I also absolutely loved seeing the Grand Canyon as part of our Vegas trip for my 21st birthday.
@50Wife So excited for you tomorrow! You'll do great, promise
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Just waiting, not sure where in my cycle I am... pretty sure I didn't O, but on CD 50+
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Testing/waiting on test restults
How are things going?: I'm so impatient. Waiting on a call back to see what we're doing next. I've decided that if I don't hear back by the time I'm done with work I'll call. I just don't want to be the pest. Also have a message in to my insurance, instead of calling again I sent a message so that I can have a paper trail for my own sanity/documentation not based on verbal information/memory.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? Mississippi to meet H's bio-family. It was surprisingly a great time!

@ndz2018 I don't know, The Land Before Time is pretty sad seems like a normal reaction to me! Glad the surgery went well and you're on the road to recovery.
@jrm_14 I'm sure you know all of the thought stopping tricks. I hope you find a way to find some peace during this wait.
@elothair the waiting really is the hardest part, we have no control. I hope things work out for your testing. Your work trip sounds amazing.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO/Benched
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): waiting for repeat u/s /follow up from ruptured cyst. US is next week, until then, I wait. I did do some blood work/genetic screening (thanks for all of the feedback on that last week) so at least I feel like I did something this cycle.
How are things going?: just kind of going. feels like a really long wait for this u/s and if we do get the clear we have missed this cycle, so just mentally preparing for IUI next cycle.
Any questions?:

@ndz2018 The daily things, like healthy choices, make it feel like you’re doing something instead of waiting. Keep up the good work!
@RVAmom315 I don’t plan to test ahead of beta. I’m not 100% convinced that I won’t, though. Whatbpharmacy are you using? I was told Mandell’s would call me for payment & I ended up calling them an hour before get closed because I got nervous.
@shortstack930 Glad the bumps go away quickly. FX your u/s goes well later this week.
@50wife GL for ER! What great news to hear about your response.
@lurvleybunchococonuts I swear M.H. doesn’t take “hormone shots and progesterone” as an excuse for me not being perfect. <——(probably my hormones talking
@Avrilmai The waiting sucks, you’re right. I’m glad that you feel like this cycle had some benefits with the labs. When is your u/s next week?
@ndz2018 Gotta love crazy emotions - hopefully that's a side effect that does't last forever!
@RVAmom315 FX for good AMH results! And I hope the headaches clear up soon - they are so debilitating!
@shortstack930 Woohoo for stimming! Progress!
@50Wife That is so exciting!!! Everything crossed that tomorrow goes smoothly for you!
@lurvleybunchococonuts Waiting totally sucks. I think being a pest is the way to get things done!
@Avrilmai It sucks how many of us are in the waiting limbo.
@50Wife You’re gonna be absolutely 100% fine!!! Your literally under anesthesia for like 10 min. Can’t wait to hear your retrieval results! So exciting!!
@elothair The wheels of infertility are SLOW! Hang in there hopefully you’ll get answers soon.
@lurvleybunchococonuts I am so impatient too, CALL! Which results are you waiting on again?
@Avrilmai Did they say how long the genetic tests take to come back? I think ours took 3 weeks. I’m REALLY REALLY hoping that cyst is gone! Anyway you can call and see if you can get the U/S sooner? Or Did they schedule it next week bc they want to give it as much time to go away?
@shortstack930 GL with the first monitoring app! Hope you’ve got lots of follies in there!!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Waiting for IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I'll have my final ultrasound/bloodwork on Friday before my FET next Wednesday.
How are things going?: Pretty good. I think I have my PIO situation figured out. (My neighbor has been really quiet since I asked her about it, but one of my coworkers and a friend who is a medic are both willing to help out.) I asked my best friend to come with me for the FET, since my husband can't be there. She said she would, so I'm relieved that I won't have to be there alone.
Any questions?:
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? It was technically a work trip, but New Zealand was amazing. I loved everything about it and would go back in a heartbeat.

@50Wife I am so, so excited for you! I was definitely a bit worried right before my ER, but it goes by really quickly once you go into sleepyland. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you!
@lurvleybunchococonuts I definitely relate to that feeling of thinking you are being a pest. At this point, I don't hesitate to contact my RE when I need to, since there have been so many times when their office has been overwhelmed and missed details that were really important, like medications or appointments. It's hard and exhausting to be your own advocate, but it's worth it.
@Avrilmai Totally with you there on the New Zealand love! I hope all goes well with your u/s and that this limbo period goes by quickly.

@ndz2018 the genetic screening should take about 2 weeks. They scheduled the u/s 4 weeks from the rupture/diagnosis, so I don't think it is possible to move it up.
@lurvleybunchococonuts paper trails are good, also most insurance companies record calls, so if you keep track of the name of the person and date/time of the call you can usually use that as tracking as well. I even ask them to spell their names sometimes just to be sure I got it right. I don't care if it is Ann I'm asking them to spell it! As for calling the doctor, I've found if I don't advocate for myself no one else will. Call if you need to.

How are things going?: Ok. My mom (who knows everything we're dealing with) called to tell me one of my cousins is ku, so that was a bit hard. How are things going?: This morning's scan had me worried AF. The US was joking about my ovaries, because I am coded as ovarian dysfunction for insurance. I laughed and said it was just for insurance, it's actually my H. She said, "well obviously there is ovarian factor too, looking at these." And then I asked about how many she was seeing, and she said,"oh, you'll probably only get one, maybe two eggs at retrieval. You aren't transferring this cycle, right? Your lining is horrible."
So of course, I get into my car and ugly cry all the way to Starbucks. I called H and he reminded me that the lady is not my doctor, and we still have time, regardless. Well the clinic normally calls around noon, maybe as late as two, But they called before I even got to work. She said I have about 12 viable follicles, all either right where they need to be, or easily within the realm of catching up, so she said that was a great number, exactly what we were aiming for. She said my lining and numbers look fine, so fresh transfer was still totally on the table. I have one more US/BW on Wednesday, by ER will be either Friday or Saturday, depending on those scans. I just called to switch flights, and they were able to get my flights switched without increasing my fare, though they said if I needed to change it again, they would have to charge me, so hopefully they don't move it up at all... which I doubt they would, right? My next monitoring is Wednesday morning, and my flight out is Thursday night. She said expect ER Friday or Saturday, so as long as that doesn't turn into Thursday... what are the chances of that? Hopefully none.
Also, Fuck Cetrotide. That shit hurts. I warmed it, tried both icing and warming my skin. nope. It's horrible. It STILL hurts and itches.
Any questions?: Any insight about trigger times, etc? like, theoretically is it possible they tell me to trigger Wednesday after monitoring and then do ER on Thursday? Please tell me know. Is there any wiggle room at all if I tell them I can't be there till Friday morning?
GTKY: what was your favorite place that you’ve vacationed? Hmm. We never vacationed as kids. We grew up too poor. And then our entire married life has been spent TTC, so we haven't spent the money. but I love the beach, I loved DL, and hopefully we will go to Paris next year?

@KristoKekerooni Ugh, I'm sorry you had to go through the stress from the tech at the US, that's awful! But I'm glad the news was way better than you were told during!
She called and said it's really high and we're putting you on this medicine starting tonight and OHSS and my mind started to race and Jesus I Googled OHSS which was a fucking mistake.

Fav Quote: The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return
@KristoKekerooni Damn I'm sorry the cetrotide was still really bad!!
@rallykat14 I laughed out loud that the ER was your favorite part! I hope I feel the same tomorrow haha The one nurse told me that she'd go back and use the twilight during her breaks if she could bc it's the best full night sleep I'll ever get in 20 minutes!
@AlohaKumu I'm so glad you found people to help with the PIO and you have someone to go to the transfer with you!
I'll try to catch up more tomorrow while I'm relaxing!I just wasted way too much time googling the crap out of OHSS and estrogen levels.
@darkstar42 I’m not sure why there are 2. I presume if #1 is BFN then I won’t have to do #2. ((Hugs)) that’s tough hearing about her pregnancy. I glad to hear first day of classes have been a distraction.
@lurvleybunchococonuts If Sharon has an issue with your call, she should call my RE’s & ask how often I pester them
@elothair The Edinburgh castle was totally worth the scenic view. However, if you only have a day, don’t get stuck there for hours & hours!
