@lisa2589 thanks for heads up on April... For the win lol. Not only the drive by that loaded like her life's pictures but the one they bumped from September.... Omg I'm dead lol
Ok anybody watched tonight's episode of This is Us? I'm a complete wreck over here. It doesn't look like I'll be able to compose myself for the next episode either.
I don't know how I'm going to handle next wks this is us. I just don't.
this damn show hits me close to home in so many ways. Miscarriages. Close people with addictions. Someone passing in a house fire. We lost my gram that way almost 8 yrs ago. It happened on a Sunday. Right after a steeler (go figure) game. And I made chili that day (I remember bringing a bowl to my dad cause he came to the fire right from work). And I haven't been able to make chili since.

I have been a bit MIA lately - sorry ladies. This flu has hit our house hard. I think we are starting to come out of it though!
I am going to spend a few minutes catching up on what y’all have been chatting about while consuming my celebratory 20 week Ben and Jerry. I cant believe we are already at the point where we are all starting to hit half way!
I guess I should catch up on This Is Us now. I haven't watched since the "Kevin" episode because of what the previews showed happening to Kate. I wanted to wait until a little later because it was a bit too emotional for me at that point. But now I think I'll be okay... I mean I still cry in every episode but that's inevitable lol
@catlady1215 Ugh, This Is Us...I hear ya about the connections (((Hugs))) I don't relate in as many ways as you but I lost my dad when I was 22 and I can't handle a lot of the Kate/Jack stuff because it feels so personal.
I haven't watched last night yet but between what I've read here and on my facebook feed, I can tell I'm in for a doozy
@catlady1215 Wow that hits really close to home - way too close for comfort when even the small details have some resemblance. Sorry to hear about your gram A house fire is one of my deepest fears.
I pressed post too early.
@elsie42 The next episode isn't until after the superbowl so now would be a good time to catch up! In private with a box of tissues!
@katelynrae86 I'm sorry about your dad. It's the main storyline so I can see how hard it is for you to watch on an ongoing basis. If you do watch again, make sure there's kleenex!
I definitely need to watch last nights episode of This is Us. Last week I told DH that this show really does a great job of making it relatable to so many different people on so many different levels. It has all the things in it. Sounds like I should for sure have a box of tissues on hand for this week’s episode. And the following one.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it here or not - but has anyone heard of BirthTUBE? It’s a private group on FB where ladies live stream their births! Hospital, birth center, home, all of it.
@BurlapandLace lol I love watching birth videos on youtube, but mostly because I know how they're going to turn out before I start watching. I think a livestream might make me nervous because what if something goes wrong lol.
I think it’s a great way for people to see birth, in an unedited form. And be able to learn about different types of birth and all that! Birth videos are great, but they are edited to look beautiful with music overlays and such. I think in the current times, most people have never seen a birth other than their own. So I kind of like the real ness of live stream in that it can’t be edited and people can see what birth is really like. Some are hours long. The first one I watched on there was like 29 minutes long. Some women are really loud in labor. Some are completely silent. It is cool to see the differences and for people to see how birth can be.
In the last birtb birth I watched on there (I’ve only seen two so far) it was a home birth Mom and she actually opted to transfer to the hospital because she felt something was different. It was cool to see how her support team handled that (I thought they would try to discourage her and they didn’t). She went on to have a completely healthy baby with no complications in the hospital. But it showed a Momma following her gut.
I dont know that that I would DO it - as in stream my own birth. But I kind of like watching and learning from other Mommas in an unedited way
@twelvetwosomeonenew I finally was able to see your announcement (my laptop wasn't loading pictures yesterday and my phone was pretty much dead)!! SO CUTE!

@BurlapandLace got me thinking so I did some digging and if you are looking for like a BirthTube Lite, you should check out their instagram. They have beautiful birth story photos and also some helpful tidbits. I just learned what AROM is; artificial rupture of membranes which I read about in Expecting Better but I didn't know the acronym.

@MissKittyDanger Right? I think I'd come to terms with myself about never learning how/why (trying to avoid direct spoilers here) because they took so long to get to it, but now I'm so invested in their lives and I was quite content with them never actually airing these few episodes!
So I'm doing my 30 day free trial of Amazon Fresh, and so far I don't love it, but each order they accidentally replace one of my items with a different item. Like, the first time they replaced my red onion with a mango accidentally. This time they replaced my bag of red potatoes with a bag of roma tomatoes accidentally. Each time I complain to Amazon, which is relatively painless because they have a chat feature, and each time they refund me the item plus give me a $9.99 credit for something that was probably about $1. It's bizarre...
@ffw0617 what the actual heck?! Sounds like he’s a little too obsessed with his bottom line. I worked for a small company once run by a guy who was very similar. I switched to a larger employee owned company with an actual HR department and never looked back.
@doxiemoxie212 That's funny. I did my Amazon Fresh trial a couple months ago and we ordered once from it. About a day after our delivery came I got an email saying sorry, Amazon Fresh will no longer be delivering your area. I didn't think my order was that bad! For what it was worth though, I thought it was a pretty decent service except for the meat - not a concern for you but it was something I'd much rather go to Sam's Club for since the price vs. quality/quantity was sub par.
@becca_123 I'm mostly doing it because I'm extremely lazy, and it's free. I live in NYC, so I literally live above a grocery store, across the street from another, down the block from a third, and there's a Whole Foods a 15 min walk away lol. Plus my Whole Foods does delivery for $5 soooooo. My main issue with Amazon Fresh is that they often screw up my order, they tend to be out of stuff a lot, and you have to order like two days in advance, so it's not a last minute solution. But again, the girl too lazy to literally take the elevator downstairs really shouldn't be complaining too much about this
So I had my follow up to my AS today. My doc said she was happy with my weight gain and told me to keep up the good work. I texted DH 2 min later and made him get me a Mcds caramel sundae to celebrate lol
@doxiemoxie212 I've flirted w the idea of doing Amazon fresh, but wasn't sure what to expect. Anything that lets me avoid having to do groceries with a toddler is a win for me. I would be really annoyed if they constantly messed up my order though. I do grocery pickup at Kroger, so I just drive up, call, and they put them in my car. It's $5 charge but totally worth the convenience.
I just woke up to pee, laid back down, and my stomach is making the most ungodly noises I’ve ever heard. Like hungry growling x5, but I don’t feel particularly hungry? I’m so wierded out.
Update: I just got up and ate a cup of applesauce and the stomach growling resolved. Not sure how I could have been so starving at 0430. I usually don’t even eat breakfast until about 0900...

I've never been a breakfast person, but since getting pregnant I cannot wait until I get to work at 9am to eat like I normally did! In first trimester, I typically had snacks because I just needed something
@doxiemoxie212 We did Amazon Fresh for almost a year, I think after DS was born. Almost every week I was sending angry messages to them because of their idiotic substitutions, rotten food or just not delivering something I ordered. While I liked the convenience, I ended up going to the grocery store every week anyway. I do miss it now because I hate going to the store.
