  • AFM, anyone else have funny stories of where you’ve triggered? I had a game night to attend last night and got a call to do my trigger at 9pm so I knew I’d have to do a traveling shot in a friends bathroom.

Dunno if you’ve seen the show Friends from college on Netflix but Colbie Smothers character is undergoing IVF and there’s a whole episode about her dropping her vial and losing all the meds and running over kingdom come to try to get a replacement so she can trigger that same night.

On on my drive over to game night, I kept having flashbacks and worrying that I’d drop the syringe and be SOL. Haha

on another IUI cycle, I took my trigger in the bathroom of a restaurant where we were playing trivia.

In in any event, I’m willing my eggies to undergo meiosis so they’re mature for tomorrow. I’m totally ready. It has become pretty uncomfortable to pee, and every 15 minutes at that.

  • @J1006 great news!!!!

@efavell02 yay that’s awesome!! Funny story about the anesthesia that’s one of my biggest fears is speaking nonsense from anesthesia

@kiwi2628 don’t be scared! They don’t want you to O early your boobs are probably hurting from all the meds! And your OPK is negative so no surge yet. Your trigger will be right on time!!!
  • @kiwi2628 I had the same exact fear when I triggered and all the way up to the retrieval. My boobs started hurting almost the minute I did the trigger shot. Everythng turned out fine, the eggs were right where they were supposed to be and I’m sure yours will be too!

  • @kiwi2628 I was worried about the same. My boobs started KILLING me once I got close to trigger. Like couldn't sleep they hurt so bad.  And I only get sore boobs after O sometimes. Anyway,  it's just from all the meds and your high estrogen so try not to worry!

Anyone that’s done a retrieval: how did you feel after? When I got home I was feeling pretty good, not knowing how much I was still under the influence of the anesthesia. Now that it wore off I feel soooo sore, like it hurts to walk, and my stomach is super upset. Waiting to see how I feel tomorrow.

@efavell02 I was really really sore the day of and took 2 extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours like the nurses told me to so that I could stay ahead of the pain. I took Tylenol once the second day but was still sore and was very careful and slow with my movements. Three days after ER was my first day off the couch and by 6 days post ER I was back to normal. I have no idea how ppl go back to work the next day!

ETA: Nausea is not uncommon because of the anesthesia. I was told clear fluids/soup until nausea goes away and then your regular diet after that.

  • @laurengon82 I guess we are pretty close in cycle. I started ganarelix on Wednesday afternoon.
@efavell02 Fingerscrossed everything went great with your ER
@kiwi2628 good luck with your trigger tonight!
@sidilly so cool our daughters are the same age!  Funny enough their younger siblings will be the same age too
@northbeach3 FX for your ER tomorrow!!!

Today I got my 8 stim day results & my lining is 8.3mm. I have, 20 follies on my right & 6 on my left. Measurements are:

    RO: 9, 10, 10, 11, 11, 11, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 13, 13, 13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14 and 2< 10

    LO: 9, 10, 10, 13, 14, 14 and 8< 10

    Estrogen 2,361
CRAZY! So, they lowered both my night shots by half.  gondal f 75 & menapure 1 powder. There is a chance I’ll  OHSS & possibly have to freeze all Embryos to transfer next month, for my safety & better chance of pregnancy. But the Dr said “I’m pleased as puch with your numbers.”

@J1006 hurray! What a great number!
@efavell02 Congrats on your 11! I felt pretty good after mine....they did give me a script for Oxycodone in case I needed it. I took it that night and was good until about noon the next day when I started getting sore again. But after that I've been good...just some slight twinges. Until I poop that is. Good Lord that still hurts.

AFM, got a 3 day report. 3 of our 4 embies are looking good. The last is, in the words of the embryologist, "a bit slow" but not to the point where it doesn't count as viable.  And all the things I read about becoming attached to your embryos became very true to me. After the call I had a very strong, very sudden loving attachment to our little embies.

Also, I am starting to seriously consider just tattoing my injection sites for my progesterone on my hips. I swear we are remarking them every single day.

  • @efavell02. Yesterday I slept pretty much the whole day after my retrieval. They gave me Tylenol plus whatever pain killer was in my IV.  They wouldn’t discharge me if my pain was higher than a 2 on a 0-10 scale. I was very careful with my movements yesterday. This morning I was still a little sore but not bad. I took it easy today and tonight we went to dinner and a movie with friends and I felt fine. If I had to I probably would have gone to work today, but I’m glad I didn’t have to :) I didn’t feel nauceous but the anesthesiologist gave me anti-nausea meds and apparently I’m a light weight and didn’t need much anesthesia anyway.

@chillvazz congrats on all those follies!

@northbeach3 GL on your retrieval tomorrow!
  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Gonna try to get to bed early tonight.

Appreciate all the reassurances on sore boobs and not ovulating too early. I also noticed particularly sore nipples post trigger.

Am A little worried about post ER soreness based on your stories. I have Monday off but start back to teaching on Tuesday bright and early... I’m hoping I’ll at least be of sound mind sun and Monday so I can finish prepping my classes while sitting in bed.  :/

@kiwi2628 yeah for the traveling trigger! Hope the party helped take your mind out of IVF land for a bit.

@chillvazz holy cow! You are a follicle producing machine! Do you have PCOS? What was your starting dosage of gonal f?  My right ovary was also the mass producer. Haha best of luck at your next appt.

  • @kiwi2628 we are on the exact same schedule. I just took my trigger shot 5 min ago and will be doing ER on Monday morning!
  • My phone didn’t update the app when I made my last post so that’s why it looked out of order.
@northbeach3 my starting dose was 150 gondal f and 2 powders of menapure. It stayed the same until tonight stim day 9 we halfed it. I don’t have symptoms of PCOS. I’ve Always been a good responder to fertility drugs.

  • @northbeach3 I went back to work the day after. I was pretty tired by the end of the day, but it wasn’t so bad (also a teacher). I definitely made it a mostly independent work day, though. I didn’t need to fill the painkiller scrip, and was done with the Tylenol by the middle of the 2nd day. I still feel the occasional twinge, especially if I step down hard, but comfy shoes are helpful! The hot packs the 1st and 2nd day felt wonderful, too. Good luck today!

@hoffmanr7 awesome day 3 update! Fx #4 catches up!
  • Omg thanks guys! I am glad to know other people had the huge/heavy/painful boobs. Thats usually my post-O sign and I was like 'whyyyyyyyyy'! Anyway, trigger shot stung, but it always does for me and now in 22 hours I will be going in for my ER! I am starting to panic a bit. Needles and shots and all that have never been easy for me- the irony, right?

@chillvazz dayummmm! I hope that you dont become an OHSS risk!
@hoffmanr7 yay for those 4! FX they keep growing!

  • @chillvazz yes sounds like we are about on the same schedule!  So glad to hear you have so many follicles!  The doctor did my scan yesterday morning, but again didn’t give me much info.  He just said I’m not ready yet, but plan for ER sometime between Wednesday and Friday.  I’m nervous about being in pain afterward.  Unless I get lucky and ER lands on Friday I’ll have to return to work the following day.  Have the meds made you feel extra tired?  I feel like I am always completely exhausted.

@northbeach3 good luck on your ER.  Hope all goes well.

  • @northbeach3 congrats! Hope you’re recovering well :)

@hoffmanr7 I am! Getting super nervous, too. We get our day 5 update at the same time, apparently. Out of curiousity, are you having H in the room during? I can’t decide if it would be more or less awkward for me.
Fx to both of us tomorrow!
  • @hoffmanr7 & @halfanewt Best of luck tomorrow ladies!!! FX for you guys! <3 #stickbabiesstick

  • @laurengon82 I’m sorry you’re so exhausted our bodies & brains are going through a lot! I’ve not been able to sleep a whole night through for 4 days but weirdly I haven’t been that tired.  I think it’s because my estrogen level is so high.

@kiwi2628 congratulations on that trigger shot, and good luck for your ER!!! And yes, I’m at risk for HOSS. My nurse reminded me today that we might need to freeze any Embryos and hold off until next month to give my body time to heal.  It’s not  definite yet, but I’m not worried to much.

@northbeach3 9 is really good! I’m sure you’ll get some good strong Embryos, so exciting!!!!
  • @kiwi2628 best of luck with ER tomorrow. Peeing is kind of a bitch afterwards. If you have as much trouble as I did, I recommend making a make shift “squatty potty” using a shoebox or something you can rest your feet on. It helped ease the pressure and use of muscles. Also GL with PIO shot. Surprisingly didn’t hurt and DH was a champ. Got the rec to warm oil in warm water bath and lay on heating pad to relax muscles.

@efavell02  how you holding up on day 2? I practically slept all day but was able to get up around 6pm and even do some work on my classes. Thankful I should be able to finish prepping tomorrow. Also my clinic is open so should get fert report tmw too. Pins and needles.

@hoffmanr7 and @halfanewt best of luck tomorrow. You’re our trailblazers. Let’s get implanted embabies!!!

  • @northbeach3 we actually are not doing PIO. We have suppositories (thank god)

ok. On my way to the doctors now and I'm FREAKING OUT. Medical stuff makes me so scared- the irony of being a doctor myself.
  • @halfanewt Yes, he will be. He was in the room for all of my IUI's and most of my ultrasound this time around so there is no awkwardness in this process for us anymore. Lol. He's even gotten really good at my shots...didnt even feel it this morning.

GL today! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well for you and for a sticky emby!

  • @kiwi2628 the unknown is definitely scary. I started crying in the hospital room waiting to be taken back. It passed but those feelings are totally normal. Fx

@hoping4lilbit  I think your ER is also today. Best of luck and keep us posted.
