It's freaking cold here in TX (I know it's way colder up north), but 12 degrees is cold for here and I don't like it. I want to go back to FL!
Also, as of now the plan is to do the amnio at my MFM appt tomorrow unless she won't let me go back to work after (I have a desk job). If so I will schedule it another time because I can't miss more work. Especially during tax season. I am more scared of getting a bad result than the procedure itself...though the procedure scares me.
@charlestonchew ugh that SUCKS! Hope they can get it fixed for you soon.
Im gonna end up divorced by the end of this pregnancy. Haven’t heard from DH for New Years or anything. Last I heard he was headed to some party last night. I’m so so tired y’all.
@sparklingdiamond good luck tomorrow! @Poppy0419 umm, not okay. I am so sorry you are having to deal with his bullshit. @charlestonchew hope they can fix is wuickly but also am concerned how quickly they can fix it in below freezing temps.
@JNCPro3130 We were able to get a few gallons of water from the store so we'll continue to use that and maybe call the city tomorrow. We'll probably shower with it for now and use the toilet for sure. It doesn't seem to be affecting the hot water as much as the cold. We won't be drinking or cooking with it until we know for sure though.
@charlestonchew when you do have clear water again make sure to boil it before consuming it. They shut the water off in our area all the freaking time and we have to boil it for like three days in that time. Currently on a well that we can’t drink from anyway, so we have bottled water for any consumption, but it’s still a thing for everyone else we know.
@sparklingdiamond I had an amnio with my last pregnancy and they strongly suggested I go home and put my feet up for 24 hours. They also recommended taking the day after off as the first 24 hours is when the risk of miscarriage is the highest. My job is generally a desk job as well and I decided to heed their advice and take the time off.
Good luck tomorrow! Waiting for the results is the worst but the piece of mind is nice. I don't know about where you would get yours done but they had rapid results for me in 2 days with full results in about 2 weeks. Hope this info helps you.
@Poppy0419 my dog is loving this cold weather and does not want to come in the house. I'm afraid someone is going to accuse us of animal abuse. Also, I'm so sorry for all the shitty things you've been through during such a delicate time. I think you are a very strong woman. @ivyvines6 thank you for bringing up the Montessori subject. I had heard of it before but I didn't really know about their philosophy until now. It's very interesting and I do want to incorporate some of their methods. @gildah you have every right to be upset, I would be furious if my husband did that. So many feelings disregarded. @sparklingdiamond thinking of you
Ok so I’m going to be whiney for a minute... I’ve been having anxiety attacks lately which effing suck. The last one was when I went to Aldi to try to save some money on our groceries, but the layout and the crowdedness made me not able to breathe for a few minutes in the parking lot. It’s also starting to manifest itself in severe ocd about having a clean house. I could not bring myself to go to bed last night knowing there were clothes on the floor in the bathroom and dishes in the sink, so even though we got home from my parents around eleven, I stayed up and took care of that. I did make it to bed around midnight, but I wasn’t asleep until around one. Woke up around three to use the bathroom, and went right back to sleep. Now it’s a little after six and I can’t go back to sleep. Six is mad early for us... My pelvis hurts every time I adjust in bed, and if I lay on my right aide I feel like I’m going to throw up. J has had a runny nose the past couple days, now mh has had a sinus headache all day yesterday, and my head feels like it’s full of mucus. So grumpy. So tired. Not in a good place to be getting sick (even if it’s mild and no big deal)

@ivyvines6 I'm sorry for all the trouble you're having.
And thank you for the suggestion about the water. I'm going to call the city today to get some more info. I'm irritated because I feel we should have been provided information in some way even on a holiday to make sure people were safe.
@ivyvines6 anxiety is the WORST and I know it’s awful when it starts to take over. Especially the waking up and not being able to go back to sleep part...I suffer from that too and tired, pregnant mama is NOT happy. I had to stay on Zoloft this pregnancy. I also like to diffuse oils during the day. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t. I hope you find something that helps settle it a little.
Thank yall for commiserating with me about asshole. He does it every time I get pregnant. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing or what but we had a come to Jesus meeting last night so we’ll see.
I didn’t really know about the whole Montessori thing until y’all mentioned it but looking into it I’m completely fascinated.
@Poppy0419, you need to use your TB sass with DH! I'd karate chop him in the throat at this point.
Warning, negative Nancy moment.
I have a cold now! I think I got it from the ER on Saturday and this sucks!!!! My brother and his family are in town to celebrate Christmas. They are set to come over tomorrow night for dinner and games and then Christmas at my mom's Friday. I definitely don't want them to get this cold, but man, it'll suck not to be able to see them much or have the twins play with their cousins.
I was going to say I hope everyone is having a good holiday season, and a good New Year, but it doesn't seem like too many people are. Ugh. @sparklingdiamond I'm definitely thinking of you today, and hope everything goes well for you. @charlestonchew What a terrible thing to be dealing with right now. Water is definitely one of those things that is so easy to take for granted until you can't use it. I hope it clears up soon and you get some answers from the city! @poppy0419 I can't believe YH. I would be livid. I hope your Come To Jesus Meeting gets through to him. You've been through so much this pregnancy, you don't need the added stress. I hope it gets better for you. @suchaglencoco I hope you feel better soon, and get to see your family! Hopefully a cold isn't enough to keep them away! @ivyvines6 I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Whine away, that's why we're here. I hope everything gets better for everyone! I've been gone from my computer during my Winter Break, and the first time I tried to use my laptop at home it was horribly slow and the pop up ads were out of control. But I've been thinking of everyone and I'm trying to get caught up now that I'm back at work (YUCK!), so hopefully I didn't forget anyone. I've missed you guys!

Thanks, @mileswithmyles it was so nice. I didn't do or think about anything work related, only left my house 3 or 4 times, and just spent a ton of time with my girls and husband. It was awesome!

Ladies! What's happening with the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018?!? Sorry to hear so many of you are having a rough/crappy time. I hope things turn around soon!!
@ivyvines6 Oh my goodness I get horrible anxiety around grocery shopping and having a clean house. It’s awful! Is it at all possible for you to have your groceries delivered? We have some delivery services around here, and sometimes I bite the bullet and spend a little extra cash for my sanity’s sake. If I’m feeling anxious, it’s almost always because my magnesium levels are low. Taking a cal/mag supplement everyday helps tremendously. It also prevents constipation which is a bonus! TMI Most people experience a little Diarrhea when first starting magnesium, but your body adjusts after a while. It sounds like you have Symphisis Pubis Dysfunction. There are a ton of YouTube videos with exercises to help with that. Also, IME chiropractors are magical when it comes to SPD. You have to find one that specializes in Webster Technique. It costs money, but is so worth it. @suchaglencoco I am so sorry you’re sick:-( pregnancy colds are the absolute worst! I hope you get better soon! @Poppy0419 MH used to be distant when I was pregnant too. This is a little convoluted, but I realized that MH is an extremely stoic person and expects me to also be that way. He sees weakness as a problem and gets strangely judgemental around it. It’s almost like a primal need to have everyone in the tribe healthy so we can protect ourselves against a lion or something. He also experiences extreme shame because of his inability to be sympathetic. So, basically, he thinks I’m a huge wimp who can’t cope and protect the family, and he also feels like a jerk who can’t take care of his wife adequately. From what I’ve read, this judgement/shame cycle is extremely bad for a marriage and needs to be broken. What worked for us, was realizing that this is a primal/lizard brain thing (not that that’s an excuse). Now that we know that, it’s much easier to address and correct. I don’t know if that’s helpful at all, but it helped us! Good luck and I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this! I will say, your experience has really put my pregnancy related discomforts into perspective. I keep thinking about how tough you are and it’s really inspirational! So there you go, you’re admired by random internet strangers!
I'm sorry you're going through a tough time @ivyvines6. I hope that you can get some rest today and can avoid getting sick!
It's my last day of winter break before I go back to work tomorrow. I've really enjoyed my two weeks off. I was talking to DH last night and realized the next big break from work I'll have is when I go on Mat leave in April. So crazy, shit is starting to get real!
@ivyvines6 aldi stressed me out the first few times I went there and I have pretty mild anxiety most of the time (not diagnosed but I'm a high stress person so I wouldn't even say I have anxiety!). I don't think pregnancy ever helps anxiety. When you aren't doing baby related worrying, it just turns into stress about something else. I hope it gets better soon!
Can any of the montessori parents recommend ways to make my kid able to self regular better?! He's very independent and plays well alone (4) but the mood swings and whining...phew
we took our 2yo to the ER yesterday (everything else closed) and he probably has the flu or a bad virus, but they didn't even give him fluids after our insane wait time (since again, everything closed). He seems a little better today but a bad start to the year.
Im feeling a little sad about another boy. I shouldn't be, I know. I was ok at first, but I dunno. What if... and four kids would be a stretch (plus probably would be a boy again anyway!) so I guess the thought of being done on top of it. I also don't want my MIL to think we are besties since we will both have three boys.
Add me to the crappy “start to 2018” club, except literally. I was up all night last night with diarrhea. I thought I was going to shit my pants and now I’m super dehydrated. Of course today dh had to go back to work today so I’m left with DS and my husbands annoying dog that doesn’t want to just go out the sliding glass door to pee and expects to be walked around the apartment complex.
@ivyvines6 I'm having a very similar time to you. I wish i had any advice, I just know as soon as I have the baby I'm going back on Zoloft. Hugs, momma.
Thank you to everybody commiserating and sympathizing with me. I am feeling a smidge better, but yeah...
@gildah I started taking natural calm about a month ago. It has proven to be extremely helpful most of the time. (And yeah, tmi but the diarrhea was unreal the first few days!) I need to get back in to see me chiropractor soon, just keep putting it off because of money.
@molly1108-2 No advice on the whiney toddler front because mine is definitely a whiney butt lately... The meltdowns have become unreal! I also haven’t been diagnosed with anxiety but I know what the symptoms are. Being a “high stress” person, as you put it, sums me up in a nut shell!
Princess @Poppy0419 I do have a monq pen in my old car that usually does the trick. I should just keep it in my purse I guess... Sorry your husband is being a butt, hopefully your coming to Jesus moment with him is beneficial for you both.
Amnio is done. I was going to reschedule it since they wouldn't let me go back to work, but decided to just do it. I wanted to get it over with and didn't want to keep putting it off. It wasn't too bad, but was painful when the needle hit my uterus and caused it to contract. I am on bed rest the rest of the day.
@sparklingdiamond Rest as much as possible. I know it’s easier said than done! I’m glad it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be! When will you know the results?
@gildah The basic results in 3 days (stuff we have already pretty much ruled out with the blood test...the trisomies, sex chromosome issues, etc). The micro array takes 2 weeks.
