Is anyone else not really hungry? I pretty much remember to eat when heartburn kicks up. I've been feeling super crappy by the end of the day and someone said it's probably my blood sugar. I did a better job eating yesterday and didn't feel AS bad last night. I just have no appetite.
Moms who see chiropractors, did you get a special recommendation for a perinatal chiropractor, or is it one you have seen for awhile. Am dying to get this pain above my right hip gone, but am also worried of going to a less reputable provider.
I am seeing a regular chiro. She was comfortable adjusting me through pregnancy, but I don't know that all of them are, or are trained/experienced with that? I think it's worth asking them if they have any experience/training. I would hope that if they weren't comfortable, they would say so. I'm sure they don't want to risk doing any harm! ETA: I was not getting adjusted pre-pregnancy, but my husband was and asked her about it. For what it's worth, I have a history of back pain and am a preschool teacher who is on and off of the floor and in and out of 12" tall chairs all day, every day, and I have had back pain only occasionally (sometimes, a little achy, but generally very manageable).
So about that peeing thing, lol... I get up every 2-3 hours each night to hit the bathroom. Is that normal or a lot? I wonder because I have GD so not sure if that's pregnancy or diabetes "normal". Does it get more frequent the closer to due date? I'm 33 weeks today, which is crazy!
I would say that I'm up every night 1-2 times. I often get up and go right before I fall asleep (like, after I'm done scrolling facebook or instagram on my phone and whatever) and then at least 1 more time.

I’m having this issue. I also find when I do eat I can’t eat much or I feel like I’ll be sick. I have been forcing a morning protein shake and then mid morning fruit. After that it’s all downhill if I eat it’s crap. Babies are just invading our stomachs.

and also. I can’t poop to save my life.
I keep forgetting meals and then remember a couple hours late and over eat which makes the heartburn and indigestion flare.
As for pooping, @smorzandoj Try a cup of decaf coffee then a 10 minute walk the combo does wonders
My appetite is also totally gone. I have to remind myself to eat and I'm trying to pick nutrient - dense but not heavy food (almonds, fruits , hummus- stuff that doesn't take too much room in my stomach but has plenty of vitamins, etc) Question- as the baby moves down more, will it alleviate some of the pressure/squishing of the stomach?

It might help some, but you kind of trade one thing for another. When baby goes lower you get to that "I need a bathroom NOW" phase or your hips will hurts worse etc.

Yep to this. Had an US yesterday and he is head down. Sometimes I feel like I have to pee walking out of the bathroom and my hips are so sore by the end of the day.

When the baby drops (also called lightening) it gets easier to breath again, but tummy and bladder are still squished. Cervical sensations and pee urgency get unpleasant due to the extra pressure.
I've had the same issue the entire pregnancy. I can only eat very little before I feel uncomfortably stuffes and start burping to the point of throwing up. I can only tolerate one meal a day and it's usually lunch. For dinner I force an apple and cup of yogurt down. I struggled with weight gain but baby measures well. And the heartburn makes me miserable. If DH didn't make me eat I'd probably only eat lunch. Not much of an appetite and not hungry really
Maybe TMI lol! Dried stuff on my nipples and so I thought colostrum and sure enough when I tried, it hand expressed easily. I’m super excited because I’m hoping this means another easy breastfeeding experience (I struggled bad with DS1, DD was much better). Anyone else seeing this already?
@Starynightsky24 Yep. Colostrum is in over here, too. Usually in by 6-7 months into pregnancy and I have successfully breastfed all 3 so far (3rd by EPing for 16 months.)
@Starynightsky24 Kind of the opposite here, mine came in really early with DS (like 26 weeks) and it leaked a lot throughout the rest of the pregnancy. I had crazy oversupply issues for the first few months with him but overall a successful breastfeeding experience. This time nothing at all is going on and I hope that doesn’t mean something for breastfeeding this go round! I’m wondering if it has anything to do with having weaned DS at the beginning of this pregnancy? No clue. I just hope it doesn’t mean anything!

@winnie1122 My sister weaned during pregnancy and she didn't leak either. Maybe because the kids were close enough together that her body didn't have to reset all over again? I just remember I called her my first pregnancy complaining that she didn't warn me and she just laughed. She never had issues BFing either
Great to know! I know it supposedly comes in early, but I’ve never been able to see it so clearly. I just remember it taking 5 days for milk to come in with DS. I’m thinking it’s because I was a FTM (Its not like that for all FTMs).
@winnie1122 I got pregnant with DD weeks after DS was fully weaned. My milk was almost fully in after only 24hrs in the hospital. The lactation consultant said it was likely because of when DS weaned. I was more worried this time though because I didn’t get pregnant as soon after DD.
What I'm getting is clear and just a tiny bit, is that colostrum?

Tmi, but colostrum pic: it's a yellowish clear when it comes in. Gets more yellow closer to delivery and somewhat cloudy, then will transition lighter and lighter after birth until it''s an off-white milk.
How many weeks are you guys that you can hand express colostrum? I'm almost 31 weeks now and I haven't had anything. I don't want to have breast feeding problems like I did with DD.

@rainafire77 It comes out randomly for me, mostly on the right, not hand-expressed.

My boobs haven't grown much since I've been pregnant, and worried about when my milk will come in!
Stuck in box: I've been thinking about this too. I got my extra boobage (technical term) early on and since then haven't noticed any changes. Wasn't sure if it was because I'm a FTM, maybe it will start a little closer to EDD?

I'm 31 weeks and I've got nothing. When should I get pads in case of leaks? And boobs haven't changed in size yet.
I figured it was due to me being a FTM, so I'm going to wait til closer to EDD for something to happen. I'm sure nature will take its course. Good to hear from others on what to expect.
I’ve been leaking for 2 months already it’s crazy. Started back in October. I’m 33 weeks now. FTM. I haven’t tried hand expressing it, I mainly just wake up in the night or sometimes when sitting on the couch with big wet circles on my shirts. I’ve taken to wearing a sleep bra with nursing pads to bed as it was getting out of hand.
I’m not leaking, but I can manually express some out. I could do this the first time around and had kind of a rough time with DD. BUT I had her early, she had jaundice (pretty bad) which makes babies very lethargic and not want to work to eat, and I was a first time breastfeeder.
There are no real early indicators whether or not you will have a successful go at breastfeeding (thanks to my March 16 moms for reassuring me with this), but do know it can be very difficult. Breastfeeding is NOT easy at first. I hope I’m not scaring anyone, but I just am being honest.
Glad to hear from others that I'm not the only one without leaking. My extra boobage (thank you for the technical term @atlante!) happened early. I'm 31 weeks and haven't had any leaking. I'm definitely worried about having trouble breast feeding (a fear that was exacerbated yesterday by the arrival of my breast pump).
ETA: The box containing the breast pump is sitting on top of my printer, staring at me, with a little sticker on it that says, "Our pumps don't suck, they suckle." Not sure whether to laugh or cry...
The boob/milk/colostrum thing can be so different for everyone. There's really no one size fits all answer for some of it. Personally, my boobs never got bigger with DD they just changed shape a little bit.
Colostrum came in for me around 19 weeks last time and just started this time. @Chawk17 right now it's not enough to need breast pads. Unless you have a lot you may not need to worry about it until your milk actually comes in after baby is born. Even still, some women don't leak at all!
@jennifer_m21 your actual milk won't come in until a few days after baby is born. All they need at first is the colostrum and just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there! I know it's hard not to stress about these things though.
General FYI hand expressing is fine but if you're but not nursing/pumping already it's not really safe to use your pump to express colostrum because it can confuse your body and trigger preterm labor.
@rainafire77 I'm 31 weeks, too, but this is kid #4 for me.
@Chawk17 I only use pads while nursing, but everyone is different. When I was a FTM, I took DD to her newborn appt and I ended up leaving with streaks down my shirt from leaking (letdown because she cried). That was eye opening.
I’ve never had leaking in pregnancy, and this is my third. Breastfed my first two for 14 months and 18 months. I wouldn’t worry if it hasn’t happened for you yet!
The best nursing advice I was given was to see the lactation consultants in the hospital, as many times as they let you! And if you have access, see them at the pediatrician and anywhere else. Even if you think it’s going well... they see things I would have never caught.
Dont worry about colostrum or boob size . I didn’t mean that!

In my breast feeding class, I learned that some insurance plans cover lactation consultants coming to your home! Definitely something worth checking into!!!

My insurance has new coverage with a consultant or support. I need to call them about it, as it is new within the last two years. Thanks for the reminder!
My boobs haven't grown much since I've been pregnant, and worried about when my milk will come in!
My boobs barely grow at all during pregnancy, and do not leak before delivery. I have never had trouble with milk coming in or a supply issue. I also have never leaked to the point where i needed a nursing pad.
Everyone is different, just because you're boobs aren't huge, or you aren't producing already doesn't mean you won't have plenty of milk when the time comes. And just because you don't leak, doesn't mean you don't produce enough milk for the baby to thrive.
I'm actually looking forward to using a lactation consultant this time around because I have been assured that the LCs at my new hospital are not judgemental bee-atchws like they were at my old one. With my daughter they had me in tears. One actually told me "if you love your baby, you'll make breastfeeding work. Babies don't thrive on formula." Well, my milk never came in and I had to formula feed. Quit going to WIC too because of the same judgemental attitude. (Our county just sucks with regard to maternal support!)
