Re: Weekly Symptoms | 12.11

  • @rainafire77 @mamaof5already DD is 21 months old and I've already forgotten so much stuff. I can't imagine the brain drain of teenagers!
At least DD is awesome. She is so helpful arpund the house and while she gets into moody teen mode at times, she's still a great kid. She's looking forward to the baby getting here so she can help take care of him.

  • Moms who see chiropractors, did you get a special recommendation for a perinatal chiropractor, or is it one you have seen for awhile. Am dying to get this pain above my right hip gone, but am also worried of going to a less reputable provider.
  • @nightnurse92 My chiropractor is new to me during this pregnancy.  He is specially trained for pregnancy care and came highly recommended. It's been amazing.

I had a different chiropractor during my last 2 pregnancies that had minimal training for pregnancy care. Felt better after seeing him, but never great. I had been with him from an auto accident, and I think that was more of what he was trained for.
  • @nightnurse92 mine is also new to me in pregnancy. I had actually never seen a chiropractor before getting pregnant. One of my co-workers who is also pregnant recommended her and then my midwives gave me the same recommendation (it helps that she's local and I live in a small town). She's not exclusively a perinatal chiropractor.
  • I've started feeling hungry when I wake up for my trip to the bathroom. I'm getting plenty of calories... Maybe I need to change up my dinners with more protein? I feel like fighting it on principle but I'm probably going to end up with my face in the fridge one of these nights.  :(

@nightnurse92 mine is new to me during pregnancy but I had been seeing a chiropractor often before. I was in the market for a new one because I wasn’t  really clicking with the other one so when I found out I was pregnant I did some research to find one in town that had prenatal experience

  • Heart palpitations at night, esp when I lay down. I asked The Dr today and she said it’s normal, but it feels unsettling. Anyone else experience these?
Yup, mine happen in the afternoon. I can feel my heartbeat in my chest and it's fast.

@rainafire77 I've felt more wooshing movements lately than strong kicks, like he's turning somersaults in there. Probably as long as baby's moving it's not a cause for concern what he's doing, but ask your doc since you're there anyway!

  • Stupid protein in the urine. Thank goodness BP was alright. No lab work as of this week.

This is about when these same issues started with DD. If the BP starts trending up, I could go as early as 37 weeks....putting delivery on/around Jan 30th.
  • So about that peeing thing, lol... I get up every 2-3 hours each night to hit the bathroom. Is that normal or a lot? I wonder because I have GD so not sure if that's pregnancy or diabetes "normal". Does it get more frequent the closer to due date? I'm 33 weeks today, which is crazy!

Praying your BP holds steady long enough to avoid a nicu stay!

I think it's normal. I'm up several times a night to use the bathroom too. I'm pretty sure my LO is using my bladder as a pillow.

I'm up 1-2 times per night right now depending on how well hydrated I am. That's from about 10p to 530 am assuming I am able to go back to sleep after. So I think that's probably normal. I'm also having to drink water before going back to bed each time or I risk waking up dehydrated

I love the wooshing movements. They're so wierd. Although a little distracting when my belly is rolling around in a meeting.

Only every 2-3 hours?? Lucky! ;) That's completely normal. I once got up 3 times in an hour. But that's what I get for drinking Miralax before bed (the water I drink for it, that is, not the need to poop). I also wake up a lot during the night because I'm a light sleeper and my dog is noisy, and every time I wake up and move I get the urge to pee so I'm up a ton. It's the baby tap dancing on your bladder!

  • Lol phew I was like, I wonder if this is too much right now. I do drink plenty of water, but less and less space in there! When I'm awake sometimes it's way more and then he'll reposition and I gotta go again lol.
  • My hormones are off the charts. I haven’t been sleeping well at all through the night and I was having some cramps in my lower abdomen last night.
  • @clc515 I'm inclined to think that the peeing 2-3 times a night is more pregnancy related than GD related. I passed my 1 hour (granted only by about 3 points) and didn't have to go on to the 3 hour or have a GD diagnosis and I get up at least twice a night to pee. If I time it correctly then I'll go after I brush my teeth before getting into bed, once around 1-2am and then again around 5-6am. I think part of my problem is that I'm drinking a lot of water with the cold/dryness we're experiencing. I'm also sick and the fluids really help with that. If the frequent bathroom trips are a pain, maybe try not drinking anything starting1 hour before you are ready for bed. I've heard that can help with overnight bathroom trips. On the plus side, waking up 2-3 times a night will prepare you to do it when the baby comes!
  • @clc515 I'm not getting up to pee at all,  but i know I'm not getting enough fluids in and think I'm starting to get dehydrated with headaches.

  • I'm so jealous of people that are only peeing 2-3 times a night.  My doctor told me on Tuesday that my amniotic fluid level was 16!  Apparently a low amount is 5-6 so I'm doing really well on keeping hydrated.  Probably why I pee every 5 seconds it seems like.
  • I am also up 2-3 times to pee. I try to limit water after dinner. It isn’t helping lol

I didn’t want to say it either, but I haven’t been peeing TTN much either. But like @mamaof5already I’m not drinking as much as I should. No headaches, but I know I’m not hydrated enough.
  • @babybro218 I have a heart condition that causes palpitations and am on beta blockers for it. In early pregnancy, they upped my meds as I was getting frequent heart racing episodes. But even with more meds than usual, I still get them! It's just a normal pregnancy thing. I can get a few a day and then go days without them.

  • For me it's not that my bladder is full (which is what would make you pee a lot with GD), but that my uterus is putting pressure on my bladder so I feel like I have to go, but when I do not a lot comes out. So that 8 ounces of water I drink to take Miralax comes out about 2 ounces at a time over the course of the night.

  • Sorry in advance if this is TMI, but is anyone else super gassy lately?
  • @gingermama26 Yup. To quote DH yesterday... "WOAH."

Really keeping the magic alive through this pregnancy.   :D
  • Sorry in advance if this is TMI, but is anyone else super gassy lately?
DH said one time was so bad it was grounds for divorce lol.  He was joking of course but yes super gassy
  • @gingermama26 I was just complaining to DH that my stomach hates eating. Indigestion, heartburn, and gas. Oh so pleasant... :(
  • @gingermama26 @3plus1equals4
thanks for the advice. I will do some research to find one trained to care for pregnant women
  • What can us mamas take to help cure a cold?? Cough drop? Meds? I'm desperate for relief. I have a cough. And every time I cough, my lower pelvic area aches and is sore. Also I pee almost every time I cough or sneeze.

  • How is my arm still sore 2 weeks after getting the tdap??
  • @love-mom-life - I have a cold, too! Like what @mamaof5already suggested, I'm drinking as many fluids as I can and resting. And by resting, I plan on sitting on the couch and watching Netflix as soon as I get home. Hope you feel better!

@libbodee - my TDAP shot was sore for only a few days. 2 weeks sounds like a long time!
  • @love-mom-life I recently called my OB about this because ive been struggling with a cough for about two weeks now. They told me I could take Robitussin DM (the regular stuff) for a short period of time because I’m in the 3rd trimester it’s considered safe.

I double checked with the pharmacist when I picked up the cough syrup just to make sure I had the right stuff so if you so pick up cough syrup definitely ask the pharmacist to make sure it’s the right one. I’m at the point now where I still have the cough and feel terrible and probably will need to go in to have it checked out/maybe get an antibiotic.
  • @love-mom-life This is the sheet my OB sent home:

  • @libbodee in my first pregnancy my TDAP was also sore for like 2-3 weeks.  This time barely sore for a day.  So apparently it's a crapshoot.
  • That’s interesting about the Tdap. I get mine on the 28th, glad to hear some experiences with soreness afterwards to prepare myself! My arms was sore for a couple days after the flu shot so I’m sure mine will be sore after this one too. Sigh. I’m getting tired of being poked and prodded!

  • Sorry in advance if this is TMI, but is anyone else super gassy lately?
Yup, since I got pregnant. My poor husband lmao.
  • @love-mom-life my OB okays Rubitussen DM, Sudafed, and Mucinex.  I had a cold a few weeks ago and would take Mucinex at night so that I could sleep. I also love to drink hot water mixed with lemon and honey. It makes my throat feel so much better!
  • It's a beautiful day here (75 and clear) so I decided on a whim to walk to pick up DS1 from school. Definitely not as pleasant a walk as before pregnancy. Only 2 miles total, but the RLP was not fun and now pelvic pressure and hot/slightly swollen feet.

Idk how the fit mamas on here do this regularly. I will be going back to my half mile walks.
