Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread | 11.27

  • Well.... I created a list of 40 things to do around the house, organized my kitchen cabinets including spice collection, went wholesale shopping for nonperishables and organized all of that, and washed all of our curtains. And I cried at the doctor's today for no good reason.

This is totally normal, right?  :/

  • I woke up twice last night, but slept so soundly in between (finally!)  It was nice to have some energy to get things done around the house and still take my 3 year old out for some fun.

LO has been super active lately.  I am once again ravenous and back to having cravings. Last night was brussel sprouts with breakfast sausage links... today is French dip.

Laughing because I also organized my spices today. I switched the pantry shelves that I keep spices and baking flours/sugars/grains on.
  • Nesting is kicking in here too and I went to town on my kitchen today. Set the oven to clean for the first time in who knows how long and now the house smells all smoky...ugh.. Thankfully we're having unseasonably warm weather so I could open the windows. But I have a huge cleaning list in my head and just want to get the house totally scrubbed. But my hips hurt and my sciatic nerve made me take a break so not getting anymore done for a little bit.

  • @atalante We did some nonperishable stocking up this weekend, too, including spices, lol! Should be good with tissues/TP/paper towels/trash bags for MONTHS.

The side sleeping is getting harder - turns out that REALLY triggers my RLP (or maybe lighting crotch?) Either way, when I wake up my nether region is not happy at all.
  • My sense of smell is over the top. Someone stinks in my classroom badly. I smell the tiniest bit of urine like it’s the only thing in the room when my son has an accident. It’s absurd.
  • How am I feeling? Constipated AF. I swear I drink so much water, but it never helps. I’m so afraid I won’t leave the hospital because I won’t have a BM for a week after baby comes.

    Overall okay! 27 weeks today
    baby is moving a lot
croth pain-I get sore after doing to many things-the waddle has set in-RLP-constipated
  • All of a sudden everything is hitting me!
So unbelievably tired! Can barely breathe these days! My pelvis is so sore ALL THE TIME! I have had a cold that I cannot seem to shake! My back is sore and our 2 year old is acting out like crazy! Christmas holidays can't come soon enough!
  • Guys I carried my 12lb dog down a flight of stairs and I couldn’t breathe. I needed a break.

Also my belly is starting to get tight and it’s uncomfortable!!! 30 weeks and when he turns so his back is facing out and his face is looking at my spine it is so uncomfortable. I’m also starting to push his little feet away from the top of my belly. Like come on kid how much room do you need! If he doesn’t fit now how are we going to deal for 8 more weeks...
  • Uncomfortable and out of breath. I feel like I move soooooo slowly. By Days end I think I have 50 pounds in just my belly. And it’s soooo tight . Can’t imagine the next 11 weeks.

  • I started to have random tingling under my right boob today. I completely forgot about this being an issue and hope it doesn't happen to many more times. Also if the kicks/jabs to my ribs could not be so painful that would be amazeballs!
  • @jenniferjoy37 My doc said Miralax is ok to take for constipation, so check with your doc about it. It works like gangbusters for me, sometimes too well so I have to plan accordingly....The Colace doesn't work at all for me, sadly.

I swear my bump triples in size by the end of the day and is tight and sore. And I've had heartburn at night the past few nights.

  • I have the evening time bump growth, too. I like to think of it as pre-stretching for what's to come!
  • +1 for belly expansion too.... I almost* don’t even look pregnant first thing in the morning!
  • I'm thinking about taking off ring...some days fingers are swollen other days not so much.
  • @eggplantface No joke, miralax does nothing for me even when I’m not pregnant. The Colace actually helps me... I don’t want to put too much stuff in my system, but man, I want to feel “normal” again.

@Chawk17 I hear you on the swollen fingers! Mine do that too! I got DH and I some silicone rings to wear when we work out. That’s been a lifesaver. I think we got the Qalo ones, but there’s so many out there!
  • @jenniferjoy37 You've probably already tried this but are you taking fiber supplements? I take gummy fiber supplements daily and that's been helping everything keep going.

I got a huge tub of those from CostCo in first tri but didn't replace them when they ran out because I wasn't sure they were actually doing anything. I may have to get another tub and see if I have any change. I have days where I'm fine, then a day when I'm definitely NOT. ;)

  • Headache and heartburn are pretty much constant at this point. I’ve been taking a combo of colace and senna for constipation and it’s been working fairly well (I call it my constipation cocktail).
  • @jenniferjoy37 i add benefiber to all kinds of things,  and it helps keep things moving. I'll mix it with macand cheese, casseroles, baked goods or in drinks.

Stairs are becoming a real issue for me,  going up or down.  Sometimes I'm fine just winded,  other times intense jabbing pain that makes me want to double over.

Yes to all of this! I did get the Costco tub of gummies and it did nothing! DH likes them though... My body just likes to keep food inside for longer than most normal people. My already slow moving digestive system just got more slow thanks to baby. Ha!!
  • @Chawk17 my rings are already off. :/

Random/symptom: I bought a yoga ball today to sit on instead of my dining chairs or desk chair. I need squishy-ness for my poor crotch!
  • Man the crotch and tail bone pain! Sitting is the worst. I’ve taken to eating dinner on the couch so I can sit on a heating pad kind of on an incline to reduce the pressure. The rest of the time I lay or lounge to avoid sitting.

  • @3plus1equals4 My exercise ball came in today! I work with all men so I got the most obnoxious pink color I could find. I’m starting a pool to see how long before they pop it.
  • +1 for all of these?  My belly feels so tight.  How am I even going to get bigger!?!?  Y’all, I had twins 11 years ago.  I don’t remember feeling stretched like a drum.  And please, please, please, no cankles!  Every once in a while, I look down and my feet and ankles are slightly swollen.  It’s still at the point that it’s not really noticeable unless you’re me, but this must stop now!
  • I'm starting to develop red itchy patches on my growing stretch marks... I already have eczema so on one hand it's nothing "new" to be itchy, but on the other, ugh!
  • I'm starting to swell. Not like, scary swelling, just slightly swelling that's a pain. Back pain, can't breathe...oy. but at the same time I look through here and think, O my goodness, we are so close to meeting these babies.
  • My belly was super hard/tight all day today. Caused a lot of discomfort and freaked me out a bit because it’s something new I haven’t experienced.

+1 for the super hard/tight belly today. Uncomfortably so for much of the day. Plus hip pain (especially at night) and heartburn.

The swelling started for me today! I was kind of expecting it because I've been at a meeting with a lot of sitting, etc, but I have another day of that and then have to get on a plane. Any tips to keep the foot/ankle swelling down?
  • Add insomnia for me...

@atalante it helps me to drink a lot of water and cut back on processed or salty foods.
  • I put this on my ticker change and asked girls same weeks as me...but now I'll throw it out here.
I have 28 week appt today...so going to ask dr. As well.
28.6w...saturday was last day of noticed active movement. Now I just get a nudge here/there...but weird pressure either side of stomach and near sternum...feels numb like someone's rubbing in a circle ( or turning )...anyone else?

I had this yesterday! Not much movement at all! Then I drank some grape juice and laid on my left side, and there was some movement. I think the babe may be growing in there, so they sleep more than usual during the times of growth.

Don’t be afraid to mention this to your doctor as well! Always error on the side of caution.

I am going to ask nurse during blood pressure today...shes gone through inactive phases before...so I haven't worried...but we will see- the pressure feeling  has me off.
I've got that big question followed by how not to have breast milk come in.( what med can they give me at delivery to insure this.) SO it's going to be a long appointment  :)
  • @Chawk17 I asked my Dr Tuesday at my 28 weeks appt about kick counts and he said they don't really start doing those until 32-34 weeks. He did say if I'm feeling the baby moving consistently throughout the day, even if one day isn't as active as the next, it's ok but if I feel a significant decrease in movement to call & they'll get me in to monitor him. I remember after my car accident that the baby was kinda quiet for a couple of days (I was 22 weeks then) but then came back with a vengeance. What @BrittaniLC said is true. Babies go through growth spurts and sleep more. Could also be turned differently so you're not feeling what you usually do.

Having said that, call your doctor if you're concerned. Trust your instincts.
