@btm013 Oh my gosh and you didn't even know?! See that's why I asked about BH in the questions thread yesterday because I'm not convinced I would even know they are happening!

@btm013 i had the same thing happen at my a/s. The tech told me i was having a contraction (which may or may not have been caused from peeing right before apparently). I didn't feel a thing. I only worry about the ones that really hurt. Those mean I'm seriously dehydrated.

@beach_mama I had just emptied my bladder too!!! Must be a thing.

@JJMNO1616 this happened a lot at the end of my first pregnancy. I had to go for non-stress tests for blood pressure that was slowly creeping up. The contractions would show on the monitor but I couldn’t feel a thing. Totally normal. Braxton Hicks for me is just a tightening of your uterus. Usually with a full bladder or after I pee. Sometimes, if I’m doing a lot of house work I’ll get them. Believe me, you will know when real contractions begin. I always feared I would be the woman delivering on the side of the highway bc I didn’t know I was in labor. At the end, things begin to happen. You may lose your mucus plug, have the “bloody show”, have a day of diarrhea or even have some contractions that sort of Taper off and don’t form a pattern.  You’ll Be hyper aware of things. Plus you we will be at your doctor weekly (possibly twice a week if you are having any issues).

@psuxray07  My Mfm wanted me to take baby aspirin too. (I took it last pregnancy as well). He said it wasn't to help with blood pressure but to help with blood flow to the placenta.  I have seen a drop in my bp after taking it in this pregnancy.

    That’s great news @sparklingdiamond

I have my a/s on Thursday! It must be a popular day to have it! LOL

My MIL is coming along with us for this one. It’s our chance to make sure the baby is a girl! We got an elective u/s at 17 weeks, and that’s what they said then!

I cant wait to see the baby again and to make sure everything is ok!

    @sparklingdiamond yay!! Happy tears!!

@psuxray07 I'm also on baby aspirin until 36w. Mfm said it can lower your risk of pre-e by like 33% or something. My bp is always low and actually was my entire pregnancy w dd1. Until i went to the hospital at 38w thinking i had horrific heartburn. Then it was high.

@mcb2016 @beach_mama She did say something about helping prevent pre-e.   I just thought it was weird bc I haven't seen the actual doctor in a while and everything has been fine.  And this is a regular ob, when my previous was an mfm and they never had me take it.  I've had high bp and been on meds since elementary school. I mean, I'll take preventative measures just to be safe!  Just caught me off guard.

I didn't have the 2 arteries, but we did have uncoiled cord and they were worried about DS being small. He was 8lb 14oz @itsrandiyo

  • Options
@itsrandiyo Do you mean a single umbilical artery instead of 2?  I currently have that and they said a lot of times it means nothing.  Hopefully the heart is just fine!
  • Options
@sparklingdiamond YES! I was trying not to google it because most of the time I find awful stuff haha But I just googled and I misspoke. It is the 1 artery, 2 vessels instead of 3. And I'm glad I'm not the only one! When I googled it also said the heart thing may be attached to it and why it is a marker, all of this stuff is so new and confusing.
  • Options
@itsrandiyo I think when there is a single umbilical artery, it can sometimes indicate other genetic issues, so they look more closely for them.  I had that and the CDH.  But you can have it and have no other genetic issues as well.

@sparklingdiamond I see! Thank you for the information!

@sparklingdiamond awesome news! Keeping my FX  you get even more good news in FL!

@itsrandiyo sorry to hear about your cord issues but hopefully it'll just be a reason to monitor you more closely but won't have any true effect on baby!

EDTA: Thinking of all you ladies with scans in the next few days. Wishing you all the best!

@psuxray07 I take baby aspirin, too. They had me start it at 16 weeks. OB and MFM said their reasoning is more to help prevent blood clots? I’m on BP med because I’m diabetic and it’s supposed to help the development of pre-e, although I really don’t have BP issues. I guess in my case the BP med is more prophylactic.
