All these anatomy scans...and more boys, lol. So exciting!
@sparklingdiamond I am soooo sooo happy for you. Doing my happy dance for you lol.
@itsrandiyo I don't know anything about how umbilical cords are supposed to be, but I hope everything keeps going smoothly for you and your baby boy grows healthy. Will they be doing more sonos to keep track? Keep us updated!
I had my cervix check again yesterday and the length from the previous week wasn't a fluke . It was still 2.8cm, which is somewhat good since it didn't get any shorter. The shape was good too, no funneling, but they will do weekly appointments for the next 4 weeks to keep tracking it. I was a little disappointed yesterday 1) hoping that last week's measurement wasn't right or 2) it had gained some length back (4.5cm a couple of weeks prior). Goal for this week is to stay off my feet as much as possible, drink the hell out of some water and pray it lengthens some. I'm not too short to where they worry (typically around 2.5cm) or make me go on progesterone, but borderline.
Yay the A/S went very well! We had an awesome tech who explained everything she was measuring and looking for. She even let me get up once to hop a bit to make the kiddo roll over to get a good look at her face. Confirmed I have myself a girlie, too. Fun appointment all around, and I feel so relieved!
We had a great anatomy scan this morning—our moms got to go with us and both cried! It was such a relief to see everything and to be reassured that little guy is developing perfectly—he weighs exactly 14 oz Thanks for all the positive vibes—still sending them out for the rest of you waiting on appointments and follow ups.
@ngolimento awesome news! Glad everything was good and there was no obvious cause for your spotting (I've had a little myself, but only after doing the deed which my OB says is cool)!
@mcg920 wonderful news!! Glad to hear all is well with your LO!!
Had our A/S this morning. Still a boy! Apparently he was being VERY uncooperative and the tech wasn’t able to get all of the pictures she wanted—luckily the doctor didn’t think we needed a return visit.
Anatomy scan went very well! Little girl was a bit uncooperative and laying in a position that made it hard to get the “cute” shots but we confirmed that I have indeed been getting a foot to the cervix the past few days. (She even did it during the ultrasound). Never had this with my other pregnancies! Anterior placenta confirmed, but I’m starting to feel low kicks where her feet are. Such a relief! Also I can’t believe how long she is already! Her head was hiding behind my ribs!!
Thanks ya'll. I'm not too worried or stressed about it, but I am paranoid trying to decipher bw what's normal and what could be a bad sign. I just went back into the doctor because I am a lot more "wet" than normal today and feared I was leaking amniotic fluid. I wasn't, but you get what I mean...paranoia, but I convince myself I'd rather be safe than sorry. Ugh, this is going to be a long second half.
We had our anatomy scan today!! Our girl is still a girl! She looks great—heartbeat of 149, she is 11 oz and 8 inches long! Tiny little peanut!
I Have two vessels In The umbilical cord instead of three. The doctor doesn’t seem too concerned. He said that there’s a chance of lower birthweight, but more often than not he sees 8 lb babies. Just in case, I have a growth ultrasound in 12 weeks to measure the baby’s progress.
Had my anatomy scan yesterday. Everything looked good but baby wasn’t cooperating and was staying pretty curled up so they didn’t get a good picture of the feet. We have to go back next week to make sure there’s no clubbed feet or anything. I’m not too concerned but obviously would have certainly preferred to have gotten the all clear.
@riversdoctor I had the same experience with still thinking of LO as being tiny and when the tech found his head just below my right ribs, and his feet down by my left ovary I was like WHOA! Congratulations on the good news!
@mikkimikey glad to hear all the good news and FX that the cord vessels are a non-issue.
@julzy glad to hear everything discernable was the way it should be, keep my FX for the follow up!!
had my 20 week anatomy ultrasound weirdly at 19weeks 2 weeks ago. baby great.... except i have complete placenta previa. not so great. was pretty upset about having to go on pelvic rest and give up sex and orgasms and exercise and basically the only fun things i had left! this week, though no official appt, I ended up in the hospital overnight with bleeding. got to go home, but now on modified bedrest.. had to cancel xmas plans and pretty worried about keeping this baby inside as long as possible! also have to have to come to terms with a likely early c-section. so pretty down this week but thankful to be home and stable for
@mmmmkay ugh I’m sorry to hear that. Did your OB mention any hope of the placenta moving? I have no experience with complete placenta previa, but my BFF showed partial at her anatomy scan and it moved out of the way completely by her due date. Could that be something to focus on?
it's possible but highly unlikely. it often moves with partial previa but complete is rare. i'm still hoping a bit but trying not to set my heart on it.
@mmmmkay I'm so sorry to hear you are going through that and bedrest during the holidays too. Glad baby is doing well though and hoping baby stays in there as long as possible.
@mmmmkay so sorry to hear about your bed rest situation! Glad baby was looking good! Keeping my FX that things improve for you and baby stays in there where they belong!
@mmmmkay I'm sorry that sucks! I was on and off pelvic rest for basically the past 9 months between 3 IVFs and bleeding issues. Admittedly I never had to go more than a month at a time, but I can still sympathize
For everyone talking about baby asprin, I was on it at the beginning of y pregnancy with my fertility doctor. Reiterating that it helps with placenta and BP and is totally normal!
AFM I had my anatomy scan this week as well. Confirmed that we are having boy/girl twins and they are looking great!!! Fortunately, the tech talked me through everything as she was doing it. She couldn't tell me numbers or what thinhs meant, but pointed everything out as she was taking pictures. Then, the doctor looked through everything, came in and took some extra pictures of her own "cause it's fun" and told us that our babies are doing great and everything looked perfect! I probably got the extra time and interaction cause we were at MFM with the twins, but it was great to know everything right then!
Prayers and love to everyone still in suspense, and of course the rest of us as well!
@mmmmkay I was on bedrest with my son for pre-e for almost two months. It suuuuucks. No joke.
Buuuut, get some trashy magazines, visit the library (or send DH). And i know it sounds stupid, but those adult coloring books are quite relaxing! I loved them!
@mmmKayy I was in bed rest for a month when pregnant with DS. Netflix, my laptop and a cooler full of snacks and pitcher of water by my bed we’re my best friends. I also worked remotely during that time so it helped to keep me busy. Good luck and rest up, Mama!
@mmmmkay - I’m sorry you have to be on bedrest. Honestly it’s a fear of mine Prayers you find things to keep entertained and that baby stays put a few more months!
We had our 20 week ultrasound today. Baby girl is about a week ahead. We did find out she has a 2 vessel cord. I thought I had seen others with this too but keep searching and haven't had luck coming up w the thread I remember seeing. I'm trying not to be too concerned about it as our mfm was not. We will go back in 4 weeks to get a better view of her heart when she is a little bigger. I will also have extra growth ultrasounds but that was already planned because of various other risk factors I have.

@ngolimento Glad to see all was well at your scan today. No signs of what caused spotting?
