Omg I can finally post in this thread. I have been dying for a month .
I have the anatomy scan on Thurs, and I am excited to see my girl's cute face now that she looks more human. For DD1, she showed up on the scan with big ol cheeks, and it was beyond adorable. After the scan I can also worry less that anything might be wrong with her.
A/S on Friday! This will be the first time seeing our baby boy in 10 weeks. I feel him moving around all of the time now, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it live. This will also be the first US for DH and he is just dying to see his little boy.
A/S on Thursday! I'm SO excited to see her again and to confirm everything is progressing well.
@ngolimento I said the same thing to my husband yesterday about this being the last "big" appointment. I haven't been too worried about anything lately but it will definitely give me that last bit of assurance to know the A/S comes back clear.
Just had the anatomy scan! All was well thankfully. They want me back in 8 weeks bc my cervix and placenta were a smidge too close for their liking. It’s not a major concern and I wasn’t given any restrictions so that is a relief. Also, how weird is this? They had to do an internal ultrasound to do another measurement and the woman was just standing there with the probe up my hoo-ha and I’m like “uhh everything ok there?” And she said “yep, waiting for this contraction to pass.” Uhhh what now? Apparently I was having a contraction! So weird but thankfully normal.
@btm013 Oh my gosh and you didn't even know?! See that's why I asked about BH in the questions thread yesterday because I'm not convinced I would even know they are happening!
Wahoo, finally hitting the anatomy scan this week! I am so anxious to see if everything is on track and baby girl is healthy! DH is taking a long lunch to go with me, can I just say how wonderful it is that the clinic is less than 5 minutes from both of our jobs? Just an hour and a half off of work for this big appointment. This is our first ultrasound this pregnancy and it feels like it's never going to get here! I am hoping my PGAL brain lightens up after this!
@btm013 i had the same thing happen at my a/s. The tech told me i was having a contraction (which may or may not have been caused from peeing right before apparently). I didn't feel a thing. I only worry about the ones that really hurt. Those mean I'm seriously dehydrated.
ME!!! I have my gender ultra sound on Wednesday. We are doing a surprise reveal party so we won't get to find out until Saturday but I still cannot wait to see our baby.
My anatomy scan is Wednesday morning. I am very excited and hoping that everything looks good. Also plan to find out the sex of the baby. Good luck to you ladies at your appointments this week!
I had my regular OB appt today bc they couldn't do it same day as my anatomy scan last Wed, so they went over stuff today. Everything was good with baby! The HB was 150 last week and 145 this week. It seems to keep going down by 5bpm at my appts. She is measuring in the 72nd percentile at 13oz.
The nurse practitioner said the drs want me to start taking baby aspirin everyday, I guess to help prevent bp issues? I was at a MFM before and they didn't have me take aspirin.
I was relieved to know all measurements were good and things are going well with her and my bp.
@beach_mama I had just emptied my bladder too!!! Must be a thing.
@JJMNO1616 this happened a lot at the end of my first pregnancy. I had to go for non-stress tests for blood pressure that was slowly creeping up. The contractions would show on the monitor but I couldn’t feel a thing. Totally normal. Braxton Hicks for me is just a tightening of your uterus. Usually with a full bladder or after I pee. Sometimes, if I’m doing a lot of house work I’ll get them. Believe me, you will know when real contractions begin. I always feared I would be the woman delivering on the side of the highway bc I didn’t know I was in labor. At the end, things begin to happen. You may lose your mucus plug, have the “bloody show”, have a day of diarrhea or even have some contractions that sort of Taper off and don’t form a pattern. You’ll Be hyper aware of things. Plus you we will be at your doctor weekly (possibly twice a week if you are having any issues).
I also have my anatomy scan on Thursday and am also looking forward to resting a little easier, assuming we get a good report. A clear NIPT and good A/S will help this mama chill out a bit! Good luck to all f you--please report back to us!
@psuxray07 My Mfm wanted me to take baby aspirin too. (I took it last pregnancy as well). He said it wasn't to help with blood pressure but to help with blood flow to the placenta. I have seen a drop in my bp after taking it in this pregnancy.
I have my a/s on Thursday! It must be a popular day to have it! LOL
My MIL is coming along with us for this one. It’s our chance to make sure the baby is a girl! We got an elective u/s at 17 weeks, and that’s what they said then!
I cant wait to see the baby again and to make sure everything is ok!
@psuxray07 I'm also on baby aspirin until 36w. Mfm said it can lower your risk of pre-e by like 33% or something. My bp is always low and actually was my entire pregnancy w dd1. Until i went to the hospital at 38w thinking i had horrific heartburn. Then it was high.
@mcb2016@beach_mama She did say something about helping prevent pre-e. I just thought it was weird bc I haven't seen the actual doctor in a while and everything has been fine. And this is a regular ob, when my previous was an mfm and they never had me take it. I've had high bp and been on meds since elementary school. I mean, I'll take preventative measures just to be safe! Just caught me off guard.
I had my anatomy scan yesterday, and we found out ITS A BOY yay. But, we did find out my umbilical cord only has 2 arteries instead of 3, please correct me if I'm saying that wrong. So, my baby may be smaller, so they have to track the growth throughout so I will have regular ultrasounds. Other then that, it doesn't seem like a super serious thing. Also, more kind of worrisome news is they found a marker on his heart..which could mean lots of different things or nothing at all my OB said, so I am waiting for them to schedule another ultrasound to check the heart closer. But neither I can do anything for/prevent so I can only pray for a healthy baby boy! But, anyone else had the umbilical cord thing?
@itsrandiyo Do you mean a single umbilical artery instead of 2? I currently have that and they said a lot of times it means nothing. Hopefully the heart is just fine!
@sparklingdiamond YES! I was trying not to google it because most of the time I find awful stuff haha But I just googled and I misspoke. It is the 1 artery, 2 vessels instead of 3. And I'm glad I'm not the only one! When I googled it also said the heart thing may be attached to it and why it is a marker, all of this stuff is so new and confusing.
@itsrandiyo I think when there is a single umbilical artery, it can sometimes indicate other genetic issues, so they look more closely for them. I had that and the CDH. But you can have it and have no other genetic issues as well.
@sparklingdiamond awesome news! Keeping my FX you get even more good news in FL!
@itsrandiyo sorry to hear about your cord issues but hopefully it'll just be a reason to monitor you more closely but won't have any true effect on baby!
EDTA: Thinking of all you ladies with scans in the next few days. Wishing you all the best!
@psuxray07 I take baby aspirin, too. They had me start it at 16 weeks. OB and MFM said their reasoning is more to help prevent blood clots? I’m on BP med because I’m diabetic and it’s supposed to help the development of pre-e, although I really don’t have BP issues. I guess in my case the BP med is more prophylactic.
