How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Good. Aside from the bump app not working for me now. So I apologize in advance if I'm absent again. Finally got it to work on my computer as it usually logs me in under my old screen name which I don't want to use. Anyways, I'm feeling good. Had a momentary panic yesterday when I realized I hadn't felt any kicks all day. But I poked my belly around a bit until LO started kicking away.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? Mine's kind of a Finding Nemo reference "Just keep swimming" except it's "Just keep trying". After having 2 back to back losses, I just needed to remind myself to just keep trying and hopefully it would happen for us. I'm so grateful we already have a beautiful DS, but I want him to be a big brother so badly!! And it's been such a letdown to keep telling him he's going to be, and then take it away. And the older he gets, the more he understands.
Any appointments coming up? Today’s Makena shot... going a day early because we are heading to Barcelona today )))))
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I miss Mars. I can’t stop thinking about him, and I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 2 years because I kind of have. We are incredibly hopeful to have Nova on her way. I’ve never named a child this early before and we’ve been calling her Nova and referring to life with Nova, DH talks about Mars and Nova... On one hand I am worried something might happen... but on the other hand had I known that most of the time we had with Mars would have been in my belly I would have enjoyed that pregnancy more... And although I would have forefeit all the life lessons we gained from losing our son just to have him back alive in our arms again... I owe it to his legacy to live life honoring everything he’s taught us. We just cannot wait to meet our Nova Marsela❤️ but know she needs her time in me. I just try to channel all my love to her for now.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? Mars led us to a shotgun weddding...DH and I had zero plans of having kids or remarrying... but when he surprised us... I wanted to change my name... I kept my ex husbands last name to remain a “tribe” with my sons but wanted to be a tribe with them all... so I married “the Spaniard” and moved my older son’s last name to my middle name and took DHs paternal last names and suddenly I was this Señora with and enormous double Spanish last name... 76 is when I was born. PS In Spain they dont ever change last names in marriage so my Spanish national last name was pulled from my birth certificate and is two totally different last names: my dad’s last name (maiden name) followed by my mom’s maiden name...so if/when we move to spain none this silly name change stuff even counts haha
@justkeeptrying I always have secretly sung your screen name to myself like Dory lol just keep trying just keep trying to the tune of just keep swiming LOL

Any appointments coming up? quite a few... glucose test next Thursday, and a follow up US to check on my placenta placement next Thursday. They are also retaking photos of our little girls heart as they didn't get all the angles they needed last time. Next OB isn't for another 3 weeks though.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
pretty good. Lots and LOTS of kicking going on in there over the last 48hrs. i can also see my stomach move now when she gives a big kick - which is pretty cool. up until now, DH has said he can feel her... but barely. Yesterday he got some big kicks and really truly undeniably felt her - so he found that pretty exciting.
We finally have 100% settled on a name. We thought we had one - "Stella" but we've changed it now and are so in love we won't be changing it again as this new name has special meaning to us. So - baby girl is officially "Lily Jane E".
We've been working on the nursery a lot this week and are now installing the floors. DH asked me where he should put something the other day and I just instinctively responded "in Lily's room. It was the first time I had used her name when talking about her and it felt so right.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean?
it's just a play on my married name... nothing overly special.
@senora76 enjoy your trip! well deserved and needed and I know how much you've been looking forward to it. have an amazing time!
Any appointments coming up? I had a check-up and my GD test yesterday (negative - woo!), and now I have a fetal echocardiogram scheduled for next week. We've been able to get good looks at baby girl's heart, and all seems well - this is just a precaution because my husband's father has a congenital heart condition. I'm not too concerned - like I said, everything has looked good, and her heart has been strong her whole life (we first saw it at 5 weeks, 5 days, which I know is pretty early). Trying to just think of it as an extra sneak peek at our girl!
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm doing well baby-wise, I'm just dang burned out. I am a teacher, and I love it - but every day, I'm forced to realize how much of my personal life I sacrifice to teach well. I'm not willing to do that anymore: my daughter and family come first from here on out. It sucks feeling like I can't be a kick-butt teacher and mom at the same time. It doesn't help that, in light of putting a number to my INSANE weight gain this past month, I'm adding a lot more exercise to my routine - when exactly are we supposed to do everything we've gotta do?! I'm sure you STM+s know that feeling all too well.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? This is the obscure screen name I use when I want to be me without having anyone I know find me. This will sound horrible, but when I was a little kid, I didn't know what Ash Wednesday was (can you tell I'm not a Catholic?), and so I just assumed it was a holiday for Ashley's like me! Ash Tuesday is my funny nod to that - Ashley being my name, and Tuesday being the day I was born with my own weird perspective. It was also my screen name on the dating site I met my husband on, so it felt apropos to bring it with me to TB.
@bb3vj3n - What a beautiful name! My husband and I use our daughter's name all the time, but we're keeping it a secret from everyone else until she's born - it's coming so natural to us now, we're terrified of slipping up and saying it in public!
@senora76, I think it's wonderful that you have already named Nova and are able to connect with her on that level. I have to stop myself sometimes from saying "I can't wait to meet this baby". After having "met" our last baby at 15 weeks gestation, I know deep down that I WANT to wait until March to meet this baby.
We know the sex of our baby and aren't telling anyone and it's killing me! We haven't picked a name yet, and I really want to. I feel it will help me to connect.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
I’m doing good. I’m definitely getting tired more easily lately and need to sit down to rest my back and breathe haha. I have started kick counts even though it’s a week early. I can’t not. It’s like I just automatically start counting... anxiety. Never ends..
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? After 3 back to back losses I feel like I’ve been chasing “our rainbow” ROY-G-BIV.. praying to catch it.
We also have named baby but aren’t telling again, just like with DD. Makes for a fun surprise aaaaand... no one to tell me I should choose a different name because once baby is named, baby is named. Too bad for them! The only person that would do this though is DH’s grandma. She’s annoying about names. We already broke tradition by not using the family middle name with DD.. and we aren’t again. And I don’t care. Hahahaha
Any appointments coming up? Regular OB appointment next Wednesday with my glucose test.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) Well today was kind of scary. I had some leaking this am that resembled the amniotic fluid that I leaked with DS so after calling the nurses line, they sent me to L&D to get checked out. Everyone was so incredibly nice—baby boy was kicking away in there the whole time so that was reassuring. They triple checked and said they couldn’t find a leak and did an ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid levels—they were good. Then they told me before I left that I did the right thing by coming in, to come back if I experienced it again, and that if it’s a small prick up high, it’s very hard to catch. Completely different experience than when I had a leak with my first, but it’s a different hospital.
It was still terrifying and I think the scariest part was when the nurse on the phone asked me where I wanted to have my baby. I said “I want to have my baby in March.” Major sympathy for the moms who deliver early. I had a small taste of that terror today and it was awful.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? I grew up on a farm in MD.
@justkeeptrying I, too, sing the song from Finding Nemo whenever I see your screen name and I love it.
@senora76 I hope you guys have a wonderful trip to Spain. I know that you have all been looking forward to it and I hope it makes this month and next month a little easier. Also, I love her name.
@bb3vj3n I love the name Lily! I think having a name makes it more real as well. And baby kicks are so reassuring.
@ashtuesday honestly I think it is just a balance that every mom figures out for herself. You will still be a kick ass mom and a wonderful teacher.
@chasingroygbiv I love your screen name too. And I’ve been unofficially doing kick counts as well since he is so active and almost guaranteed to kick any time that I am sitting down. It also makes me feel better.
I have (hopefully) my last MFM appt. He just wants to do an US to make sure no cyst is there.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
Doing good. My oldest has his first select hockey game tonight. He plays house league and then on a select team he had to try out for. I love watching him do what he loves, so I'm excited. He has incredible talent in hockey for a 7yo, and I love seeing him so passionate. I had a good MW appt Tuesday. I'm measuring at 23w, which makes me a little nervous. But that is only through measuring fundal height, and baby is laying transverse right now, making fundal height measurement a little off.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? It is the first two letters of my first name. And just nonsense after haha.
Any appointments coming up? I had my appointment with my endocrinologist on Tuesday and I’m still doing awesome with my GD. Next week I have a growth scan to see how Miss Emma is doing and I’m so excited for it!!
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I’m doing well. Just so exhausted. I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time this year and I’m so tired from all of the cleaning, cooking, and still caring for DS. Like, whyyyy do dad’s still get to sleep in when mom’s have to get up with the baby?? Also, some help with housework would be GREAT.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? It’s just my name lol
Any appointments coming up? im waiting to hear back from a gestational diabetes counselor, I got my “very high” 3 hour glucose tolerance test results just before she left the office on Friday, but the person in the office I spoke to said she would call Monday and get me scheduled right away.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
I am nervous and trying so hard not to be, because I see the correlation on my blood pressure numbers (they have me taking my own 3 times a day and I have been way toI close to my “straight to the hospital” cut off this past week. I am worried about my blood pressure, my blood sugar, getting the nursery done with zero energy and a near constant migraine, Romeo’s little kidneys, and about an early delivery if he is getting too big (my OB said she doesn’t want me to go past 39 weeks, I am ok with that but I am afraid of significant earlyness.) I am a little bit of a mess at the moment, I guess, I want to skip ahead to the next ultrasound on December 11th and I want them to tell me his kidneys are looking better, and just see him in there being ok.
GTKY: What does your screen name represent/mean? It is just my first name and middle name.
@senora76 where in Spain? I lived in Grenada for about a year when I was 20 and just loved it. I think Mars and Nova are both really great names. I’m so sorry you are missing him extra hard, your love for him comes through in every word you write about him. eta: autocorrect problems
@leilaquinn that’s a tough weekend! Sending prayers for you and for your BP to calm down and Romeo’s kidneys. Here’s hoping that you have a full term baby.
@leilaquinn Love the name Romeo- hope all checks out fine with his kidneys and your bp and sugars level off... that must be a tricky balance. Hope you can keep him baking as long as you can! I had a 35 weeker and although he was 6lbs 14oz, he had a few preterm issues and couldnt come home with us, but fortunately his NICU stay was short.. I’ve actually heard stories of no NICU with 33-34 week deliveries if they give steroid shots to help develop the lungs... hopefully it won’t come to that, but it’s wonderful they are monitoring you closely. We are in barcelona mainly but currently on a little road trip north, in Girona at the moment heading into France tomorrow... I wish I spent my youth traveling like you! I think one of the other girls here lived abroad as well-I think @mdfarmchick lived in London, if I’m not mistaken... shoulda, woulda, coulda... bet your Spanish is a lot better than mine!

@senora76. Thanks, hope you are having fun, I was only in Barcelona briefly but I loved it. I was all over the place when I was young, ending up with a degree instead of an art school drop out status would have been cool but I have no regrets. My Spanish has always been terrible, despite a lot of effort, and I happed to notice yesterday that I could only remember about 5 of the days of the week in Spanish
@senora76 we did live in England for three years and I miss it most af Christmas time. I was just reminiscing about it this weekend as we decorated the tree with our ornaments from our travels. Maybe we will go back someday, who knows! Sounds like you guys are having fun!
