I can’t get full today. I had an egg and two pieces of bacon for breakfast. I didn’t eat lunch until 12:30. I have had lasagna, popcorn, and applesauces in the past hour and still need food! Funny because I haven’t been this hungry since 1st trimester
@djd0404 if you're worried, talk to your Dr for sure, but I didn't drop with DD until like 3 days before my water broke. A lot of women don't until day of, so I wouldn't stress too much!
@dkizz82 yup, all the sudden I just want to eat everything. Which will be awesome if I go into labor, since it'll probably allllll come out on the delivery table.
I went in for my 36 week check up today- baby boy is head down and measuring 5lb14oz, and my OB told me when to head to the hospital when I go into labor. SHIT IS GETTING REAL, guys!
@djd0404 I kinda feel the same way. I am still feeling movements all over and have no clue how I'd even know how she's oriented in there. A good friend of mine was told for weeks her baby was head down, went through the hell of induction and labor, only for them to finally be like "oh sike, she's breech" and I just reeeeeally don't want to have to deal with a situation lIke that.
@djd0404 I'm in the same boat. Only occasional pelvic pressure and I've had lightning crotch like 5 times this whole pregnancy. I feel way more movement at the top of my bump (feet) and sometimes around my hips (arms and hands I guess?). Ob confirmed today baby is head down.
I bet your ob will check position at your appointment Friday; if it doesn't seem like he is going to I'm sure he would if you asked!

TMI: Best remedies for hemroids? I woke up with a massive one this morning. OB told me witch hazel on cotton balls and to leave there but I'm not getting much relief from that. Holy hell. It hurts so bad! Is there some secret to instant relief?
@Marley629 Preparation H gives pretty fast relief. I find Tucks pads are more comfortable than cotton balls (you can roll them up or lay them flat on a panty liner), and fiber/stool softeners will help you poop without so much pain.
Thank you @Skcobb. I think I have some tucks. Will have to pick up the prep H fomorrow.
Eta: I was in so much pain I went to the 24 hour cvs and got the Prep H - the strongest version costs almost $35 for a 1oz tube but it helps so much that I prob would have paid double that
Anyone else's mind going off the deep end with playing out worst case scenarios? I can't help but think about 'what would be the absolute worst situation for me to go into labor in?' over and over... Yesterday it was 'omg what if DS gets so sick he is hospitalized and I go into labor and can't be there with him?'... WTF BRAIN?!
I’m finding the stretch around my belly button to be painful.. im not sure if I’ve been having Braxton-Hicks contractions or if baby has been pressing out against my stomach. But it is so uncomfortable
+1 for baby feeling like he’s going to fall out. Not the most fun sensation when I’m walking around trying to get things done, but we persevere - I know damn well he’s obviously not going to come flying out!
@failuretofly I definitely play worst case scenarios in my head (most of them involve having to come home from the hospital with my ILs staying in my house ).
@failuretofly I haven’t really thought of delivery worst case scenarios, but I’m WAY more fearful of stuff like getting in a car accident, falling down the stairs, or even getting kidnapped and murdered than I usually am.
@MJDsquared seconding a fear of falling down stairs. For some reason they seem like an unnecessary risk now when I have access to elevators [thinking emoji]. Weird the things that get stuck in our heads.
So since ~20 weeks I notice that sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with my abs contracting, feeling like my body is trying to do a crunch in my sleep. The other night it was so strong it was difficult to get my midsection to calm down and relax . I thought that maybe what was happening was I was stretching out too much (like arching my back in my sleep), and my abs were contracting forcefully in response because they're already so tight and stretched. But then I realized today maybe these are BH? I asked the ob about it and she seems to think they could be BH. Weird that I *never* have any sensation like this during the day though. Anyone else have anything like this?

Haha @whiska. I have the opposite fear. I'm terrified I'm going to get stuck in an elevator and go into labor and deliver the baby in an elevator. Talk about irrational
eta: def sounds like Braxton hicks. Ive been having them pretty regularly but they started off worse at night at bedtime or first thing in the morning. Try drinking a glass of water when it happens and most times it should help.
@whiska totally sounds like BH. I would describe them as a muscle cramp in your ute!
@MJDsquared omg the fear of a car accident has gone through my head so many times that I am almost not even scared of it anymore. I run through the scenarios of which hospital I'd end up at based on my gestation and their NICU capabilities... Ugh lol
+1 to the fear of parents or in-laws being at my house when I get home. We've spoken on here before about having electronic keypad entry, and I'm thinking of deleting all the current passwords so no one can get in. I do not like surprises and I do not want you in my house.
But I've been worst case scenario-ing this entire pregnancy. Mostly revolving around DH not handling his mom.
But I've been worst case scenario-ing this entire pregnancy. Mostly revolving around DH not handling his mom.
+1 to this statement. My MIL is not even crazy or inappropriate, which somehow makes it worse? Like, she'd die if she knew she did something that upset me, but she also is so sensitive that I could never actually tell her that she did something to upset me. And DH is very aware of this sensitivity and therefore tends to take a hands-off approach to dealing with her requests/demands/comments/what-have-you. I've tried to tell him that it's his job to be the bad guy with anything concerning his family, but it sure seems like he has a way of doing or wording things in a way that point back to me being the actual bad guy... sigh.
RLP is such a bitch. I hardly ever get it, so I forget about it... And then I get a blinding pain from flipping over in bed too fast. UGH. This happened this morning and a few weeks ago, so it's few and far between...but it's so painful I suppose it's definitely worth 'delicately' (I don't think I can do anything 'delicately' at this point ) repositioning.
I woke up with (really) mild menstrual-like cramps. Just that crappy uncomfortable it's gonna start in a few days sort of cramps, easily ignorable when I'm busy/focused. My usual period cramps are almost debilitating, so I would not really equate the two in any way. It's the first time I've felt crampy in months. DH got excited when I told him, but I'm like "eh" and sent us both to work. In the last week, I've dropped a few pounds, returned to pooping on a normal schedule (or even 2x per day!!), and started feeling a lot less fuzzy-headed, too, but it feels like waaaaay too early to get excited or declare baby watch a go.
@kyrwyn make sure to start moaning and rubbing your belly near your "concerned" coworker. i swear, every male in my giant office building (including the front desk guard, the building engineer, and the one-man-show cleaning crew) has only been concerned about me not going into labor in the office. the consternation started MONTHS ago. not sure what it is about being a man and thinking childbirth is the freakiest thing ever, but come on guys. odds are not likely.
anyway. TOMORROW IS YOUR LAST DAY AT WORK, @KYRWYN !!! ME TOO! HIGH FIVE!
otherwise? had my last OB appt yesterday before my RCS on tuesday. everything looked fine. i swear, people just don't understand how big babies get. the rude comments are out the wazoo about my size / only having one / har har HAH NOT and yet my OB said, and i quote "you're measuring beautifully." why thank you! BP was great, heartrate was fine, LO kept trying to karate chop the living daylights out of the doppler so we were cracking up. ready to be done with this.

@anewadventure I had a old lady at church tell me I'm bigger than her granddaughter who is having twins in January. Thanks.... I had other people tell me in October I look like I could go anytime. I haven't even gained my 30lbs and I have GD. This is going to be my biggest baby at 37 week sono yesterday he was 7lbs
@anewadventure HECK YEAH HIGH FIVE WE MADE IT, WOO!! You are so close to meeting your LO! I am excited for you. I'm glad everything looked great yesterday and that you're on track for next week. FX for a productive, happy, healthy weekend for you before your newest arrival.
We had our office Thanksgiving yesterday and the same VP handed me the world's smallest glass of wine so I could toast with everyone. It was glorious to watch the Americans give him unending shit for this (they told him ANY alcohol could start labor, what was he thinking, OMG it'll be all his fault -- and he bought it). Sadly, the tiny mircosip I took was all oak and smoke flavors and I didn't enjoy it enough to even have my 1-2 mouthfuls.
Today we'll talk to my OB about scheduling delivery-related things, if he's in the mood to discuss scheduling -- which he usually is not, but the NP in the office says it's pretty unavoidable now as the hospital slots for inductions around and right after Thanksgiving fill up quickly. So yay for maybe new news!
@kyrwyn my OB was asking back in Sept when to induced. I picked Dec 4th 2 days before my due date. She stripped me yesterday, with my 3rd that put me in labor at 39 weeks. I'm always due around a holiday.
@weaver15 The Type-A in me is so jealous of people who have hard-and-fast dates... but my OB has been pretty resolute in this playing it by ear thing, which is probably good in the long run since it means we've got more leeway as long as my numbers stay good (GD and BP).
@kyrwyn my numbers on GD have been good also. I got released from the high risk OB back in October. They said they don't want me going over 40. I decided on the 4th so that the DH will home all day Friday with me till Monday December 11th. I figured after we drop the kids off with his parents we could have one date night before a house full of 4 kids.
@weaver15 That sounds like an awesome plan, and congrats on the great numbers! Our due date is Dec 1, and DH has planned to take from baby's arrival to the end of the year as PTO to be home with us. I am so excited about this. (We've both got company shutdowns between Christmas & NY, so it's more manageable than other times of year.) This LO is our long-awaited first, so having a lot of family time when he gets here is a super special perk to me. And it will make it easier to handle the onslaught of family visitors for the holidays!
@kyrwyn I'm there with you wishing I had a real date that I knew this LO would be here by! My OB is the same way, though, and wants to avoid inductuon/c section unless absolutely necessary (which is great), but I WANNA KNOW!
@kyrwyn so jelly of that much time off. With our 3rd the DH was able to take 4 weeks. With this new job he only gets 5 days. On the plus side he doesn't bring work home like the last job. My oldest birthday is December 1st. I just want to make it to December 2nd with this LO. I miss the days of one child..
So dunno if this will get a responce here or in the new thread. So I'm writing here as well.
Morning ladies. Some help and advice would be great thank You. I am 34 weeks and experiencing really bad lower back ach where I can not walk at times and where I can sometimes go blind or vision goes blurry. Now and again You can hear it click in and out I would assume. Other wise it's a really loud clicking sound that happens. Is this normal.. Thank you in advance.
