Sooooo I haven't gained any weight in the last couple of weeks. When I look at my Fitbit log it's been the same since about Oct 25th give or take (minus one weekend where I didn't poop for 3 days which has since resolved and gone back to normal). This late in the game, is that concerning? I know I should call the doc, but I'm getting ready to go out of town and wouldn't be able to come in for an exam, so I figured I'd ask here first. Baby is still moving and grooving (mostly at night when I try to sleep).
@elcd458 I haven't gained in about 6 weeks (I actually lost about 1 lb between 32/34 weeks, too). However, I was overweight to start with, so my Dr is good with me gaining as little as possible. In my experience, as long as LO is measuring on track and you're getting normal movement from them, I wouldn't stress. You could always call into the nurses line to check with them to make sure there isn't anything you should be keeping an eye out for, but I feel like at this point there's not much they would do at an exam unless it was to check on LO via ultrasound.
I'm trying to decide if this baby has dropped... last midwife appointment she was head down but still well above my pubic bone... no lightning crotch... today... holy shit I wouldn't be surprised if she punched my water right through my cervix... omg it's like buckling me in discomfort! I'm hoping that means she's lowered down! I also don't feel like she's digging into my ribs as much. I try and feel around and I have no idea haha

I went 4-6 weeks without gaining and at my last appt had gained a pound, I think. My OB just said, "you can gain some more weight!" at the appts where it was holding steady. I'm not worried about it. Baby feels like he/she is getting bigger to me, and I was already a little overweight to start with, so I think I'm doing fine.
Married May 2014 DD born August 2016 Baby #2 due December 2017
@collectiveliving I'm in the same boat as you right now. Was just pointed to the spinning babies site by the wonderful ladies on this site. Good Luck to you! Lets get these babies flipped! My Dr. is giving her 2 more weeks to flip on her own. And then they were going to talk to me about options. (I'm 34 weeks right now)
Just wanted to update in case anyone else was worried about the same thing. I got a callback from the nurse at my OB and she said that as long as I am getting my daily kick counts and overall feeling well, not to worry about the weight stagnation and that we'd discuss it further at my visit in a few days. Like most of you guys have mentioned, I too was a bit overweight pre-pregnancy so that probably has a lot to do with why it hasn't changed as much (that and I really don't have any cravings ergo my diet is pretty much identical to before).
So if my belly feels super tight and like it’s going to explode, could that be Braxton Hicks even if I don’t notice when exactly it tightens or when it loosens? Earlier my belly felt SO tight and I stopped thinking about it and just realized it isn’t anymore. That’s pretty much how it always goes. Or are BH more noticeable so I should know exactly when they start/stop?
@MJDsquared I've been laying here for 30 minutes also having stomach tightening. It's pretty irregular and now I think the baby is using the anabolic fluid as a punching bag.
My guess it's BH if you're not completely noticing them. I've always been induced with my 3 other kids. My 3rd one I went in at 39 weeks to get induced and the nurse goes you know you're having contractions right? I had no I dea. My body is slow when I go into labor, it takes my water breaking to get me going.
@MJDsquared i have been having the same thing going on the last few days. Mine goes for a long time that i just forget about it and then i notice it went away so im chalking it to BH since its not super painful and coming at random times.
@MJDsquared that definitely sounds like Braxton Hicks to me. Mine vary in intensity and are definitely getting worse the farther along I get, so a lot of the time now I feel when they start/stop but others I don’t.
@dkizz82 you could try prunes, prune juice or senokot or colace
i couldnt tell last night if i was having massive braxton Hicks contractions or if the baby was pressing out on my belly. Man it hurt and my muscles maybe? Around my belly button we’re sore. I was so uncomfortable last night.
@dilbert890 That has been my life for the past week and a half. It's gotten to where even the muscles in my back are strained from the pressure of BH and baby leaning. Hope you get some relief soon!
@dkizz82 I've been taking benefiber like crazy lately and it's helped some. I can't wait to get this kid off of my colon...
@Marley629 yup. Epsom salt baths, hot pads, and exercise balls have become by new best friends. Plus, my maternity pants are all getting super uncomfortable....
@Skcobb@Marley629 yup. DH keeps scoffing at my Epsom salts baths (we have a HUGE tub and I mean, gotta fill it all the way to even remotely get the bump semi submerged) he thinks it's such a waste of water. I don't even care. A few more weeks and I won't have time for long leisurely soaks in the tub!
@dkizz82 I wanted to limit any type of medication during pregnancy, but that quickly flew out of the window with the nausea I've had since 10 weeks (and it's gotten worse recently). I was taking 3 Colace per day, but now that I had to add in Zofran, that stopped working for constipation. My doc told me to add Miralax once a day for a couple of days and then bump it to twice a day if that didn't work. So I'm taking both Colace and Miralax and it just worked and I feel so much better!
@clovelyone I know what you mean! I too was the same way until the nonstop throwing up started. Now its the horrible acid reflex that has me reaching for meds not to mention I'm still on unisom and b6 for the sickness. These last few nights I've only been able to sleep sitting up because even with the meds i have issues with acid coming up when i lay down or bend over.
I hope you find relief soon, and the meds continue to work for you!!!
Ugh @ridedatide that sounds horrible. Ive been experiencing heartburn the worst at times it make me feel like I could just puke. But luckily it passes or if I chug milk that always fixes it for some reason.
The past few days I’ve developed this weird blotchy rash on the top outside of my upper arms and my in inner forearms. So freaking weird. Does not itch either. And it’s worse at night. Like right now it’s barely there. Hmmmm. I’m switching back to aveeno fragrance free for the rest of the pregnancy. I’m just chalking it up to the hormones. Lol.
@ShyTonia I hope that rash gets better hopefully switching your wash will help. Its got to be hormones I had something like that happen at the beginning for my pregnancy I really noticed it when I got out of the shower. Ahhh I hate the feeling of throwing up its the worse. Hope that heartburn clears up. I have many more days till 40 weeks lol that is if I make it to that point. 5.5 weeks left for me. Hopefully your LO is on time.
@dkizz82 Not sure how strict you are about caffeine intake, but honestly the only thing that seems to save me is a cup of coffee or tea in the morning that gets things moving. That and I've been taking a stool softener every other day. It's basically impossible otherwise, no matter how much water I drink or fiber consumed.
@dkizz82 -- Like @elcd458 a cup of coffee gets things moving for me. I don't have a coffee often, but if I feel backed up, I'll have half a cup and it gets things moving right away.

@ridedatide Thanks! I hope you feel better too. Now, baby A has started stomping on a nerve towards the front that makes my groin feel numb for a bit and my sciatic nerve in the back so I'm so counting down the days. 7 as of now.
Anyone else feel like their LO is going to just fall out of their vag? Just me? That's neat...
But for real, this pelvic pressure is killing me today. That, combined with a grand total of 4 hours of sleep and walking in to find DD had stripped butt naked in her crib this morning (yayyy more laundry!), today looks like it's gonna be greattttt
@Skcobb how far along are you? I also have occasional pelvic pressure and soreness at 34 weeks now. Baby has dropped into head down position. Pelvic floor exercises and hip openers work so well. Try Jane Austen’s prenatal yoga video.
@Skcobb me! For pretty much the last week. And now I'm having BH (I'm assuming Braxton hicks Bc they don't hurt) contractions every 3 mins. Im chugging water over here and waiting for doctor to call.
@kaymariec I'm 36+2 today, and measuring a bit ahead...she's been head down since about 30 weeks, and has an affinity for headbutting my cervix.
@failuretofly I had such bad lightening crotch the other day at Target I literally yelled and had people turn around to stare at me. Don't mind the crazy pregnant lady...
@Marley629 fx they stop for you soon! I've been having a fun mix of BH and legit contractions with no pattern, so I feel your pain!
See, I don't have any pelvic pressure or lightening crotch, and I still feel a ton of movement up at the top of my uterus (could be his head or butt, I really can't tell). I only have 3 weeks left until my due date, should I be worried he's not dropping? My OB hasn't done any scans, but I'm going to ask this Friday when I go in. I feel like things should be more "progressed" by now.
Re: Symptoms, Questions, Concerns - 10/9
for real though, as long as you're keeping track of daily movements and don't feel totally off, i wouldn't worry @elcd458
