Hey guys. I wanted to give a quick update. I still don't know if we are going to transfer. The outside lab that took my blood didn't properly label it so they refused to test it. I went back today and they said they can't guarantee results for three days. I left and went to a different lab. My nurse is going to ask the doctor if I can still transfer since the thyroid levels fluctuated like this before and they didn't seem at all concerned. @adirat I didn't know about levoxyl so thank you! I still haven't heard back and would say I'm at about 50/50 for doing a transfer thursday. I'm heartbroken and in so much pain from this head cold. Even the PIO hurt today. I can't imagine starting all of this again. It's insanely frustrating. I was hysterically crying and came on here and saw all the wonderful messages and well wishes from you guys I'm so thankful for all of you reaching out and telling me you were thinking of me. I feel like I have an army behind me and I only hope I can be there for you guys as well.
@safire3 Congrats!!! so excited for you. Sounds like your numbers are great. The google machine can be a great but also awful thing! @adirat I am so hopeful for you! Good luck. I have everything crossed for you!! @2MomsHoping Sounds like you have already been through so much. You could write a book! I'm glad you are happier now with a new RE @Artemis618 AMAZING BETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay. That is so amazing. So so happy for you.

@safire3 Basically what @adirat and @sunnyrain2 said about vaginal progesterone vs PIO or progesterone from your corpus luteum. The last time I had it tested to confirm ovulation CD21 prior to my starting luteal lupron for IVF #3 it was 18.3. So when I heard 9 the day before transfer, I did a double take. They told me their minimum was 6 for transfer. I asked them to test it again along with my second beta yesterday (11dp5dt) and it came back at 7 - but they didn’t tell me to do anything differently (Estrace 3x and the Endometrin 4x/day). Guess I just have to trust them.
@Irisheyes81 Really? A labeling thing? That is so incredibly frustrating. Fingers still crossed and hope the cold lets up soon.

@Irisheyes81 I am so frustrated for you that you did not get an answer today! Really hoping you start to feel better soon and still get to transfer. Hugs to you friend.
@irisheyes81. LET ME HUG YOU!!! OMG my heart is breaking for you too, but all is not lost... I will be leaning so hard into that 50 that says you get to transfer Thursday!!!! I need my transfer buddy! ❤❤❤❤❤
@safire3. Gorgeous!!!! So happy for you and looking forward to more good news Saturday!! I found out if we get our bfp, we will do a repeat beta two days later (11/29) and first u/s December 5th!

So DH is in class tonight. He should be home by 9 to give me my injection, (normal time is 8pm, but within an hour is okay), but I'm thinking about trying it myself just so I know I can do it... :#
@BusinessWife do it! There are a ton of YouTube videos with tutorials on doing it yourself. I will likely need to do my own injections so I’ve watched a few.

Guys!!! Help!!! I'm having the most horrible stomach cramps. An hour ago I was just washing the dishes and singing, then gradually cramps came. I'm in the couch, still could walk. I don't know if I have to call the ambulance. How long do your cramps last? Now, it's 30 mins already.
Oh no! @tinjp78 I get bad tummy/gas cramps lime that sometimes but they usually pass pretty quickly. Can you call your clinics doctor/nurse line and see what they advise? If you think you need to go to the emergency room, then just GO! Hope everything is ok
@tinjp78 I would just go to the ER. Better safe than sorry. So many things can go wrong in this process so don’t take any chances. If your clinic is open or has an emergency line you can call and ask them as well. I hope it is nothing serious. Let us know what happens.
Thanks for your reply @BusinessWife, the pain had subsided. 45 mins ago, the pain was like level 10 (time to call the ambulance lvl). Now it's level 4, and the cramps moved to my vag area. It was scary because I had the same cramps last year (May) which lasted the whole night. DH wanted to call the ambulance but I thought it was just nothing so I refused, the next day, the painful cramps never left me so I was confined in the hospital that day w/c lasted for a week. The cause of that was unknown. However, because of that incident, I learned I had chocolate cyst on my right ovary.
@adirat good luck at your beta tomorrow. I know how you feel sometimes you just want to hold out hope a little longer. I hope you get a nice surprise tomorrow.
@irisheyes81 I am FURIOUS for you. I work in a lab. A thyroid test takes max 45 minutes to run. Its a very common test and there is no way in hell it should take that long. If I were you I would be the squeaky wheel and calling that lab tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon to nicely remind them of your plight (or you could be like me and start out nice and end up demanding and on the phone with a supervisor). There are so many reasons that are legitimate for why a transfer is canceled. A lazy lab holding on to a thyroid result isn’t one of them.
@tinjp78 does you clinic have a nurse line you can call? I’ve never had cramping like that happen to me. Sounds like you should call in.

@tinjp78 I agree on calling the nurse service.... they may be able to tell you whether it’s nothing to worry about or if you should go to emergency.... there are some bizarre pains that can happen. I only had one incident like that but it was further along in the process
@2MomsHoping thank you for chiming in and Welcome to the board. Calling my dr seems like a good idea. I'll do that. Actually, I'll have to ask DH to make the call b/c I'm in Japan and I'm not that fluent in Japanese yet. I'm just waiting for DH to become available. Atm, cramps are almost gone. I'm still on the couch.
@Irisheyes81 I'm really sorry for what you're going through right now. I really hope there won't be any delays.
@adirat TDay buddy! I'd have to confess, I did POAS from Sat, the second lines seem to be like shadows (I don't wanna say bfn yet). I hear the other ladies here when they say, IT IS still early to test. I'm hoping for a good beta for you tomorrow. Mine is 11/17.
@safire3 CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy for you!
@Irisheyes81 OMG I want to throttle someone on your behalf. So the lab messed up the labeling and that same lab turned around and won’t rush a test for you? WTF? They DEFINITELY owe you at least that! I’m with @BusinessWife, hoping and praying so hard that you end up in the good 50%. Lots and lots of creepy internet hugs!!
@safire3 Well done with the beta! Congratulations!!

AFM - Last day before Transfer Eve! Tomorrow morning will be getting up and leaving early for my final lining check / be (maybe see if DH can come along this time,) and then one final sleep before we get KU... eep! The anticipation is fun I guess, but I definitely woke up with a little, "oh man, is today only wednesday? Is tomorrow only thursday???" Lol. Hope everyone has a great day!
@irisheyes81. Please keep us updated, too!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@tinjp78 I know you've already reached out, but pain like that does not sound normal. Also praying that shadow of a line gets darker!
@Irisheyes81 positive thoughts! Fwiw, the only times I have had success on my transfers have been when the lead up to it was a total disaster. Praying that your luck turns around soon!
@BusinessWife It’s really happening! Your post made me think of the Muppet Christmas Carol song where they sing “After all it’s only one more sleep til Christmas.” So for you I now have “After all it’s only one more sleep til transfer” in my head. (Well, 2 more, but whatever.)
The high thyroid was a bad blood draw and the RE that is
doing the transfer isn’t concerned because thyroid doesn’t affect implantation
or pregnancy rates. The OB will increase
thyroid once I’m pregnant.
@tinjp78 so sorry about your pain! That is scary and
painful and awful. I’m so glad it went away and there was no bleeding
associated. What is a chocolate cyst?
How are you feeling today?
@2momshoping I burst in to tears at the lab. They were all blaming each other and saying
there was a chain of custody issue.
Then, the nurse called and yelled.
They felt bad but said there was nothing they could do. It’s such a common test! I was mad because
people seemed to minimize what a canceled transfer entails. I was yelling, nobody gets it, nobody takes
shots every single day and pills and patches and stress for months and a LAB is
the delay. It was a bad couple days leading up to transfer unfortunately.
@businesswife How was your lining?? how are you feeling, transfer
buddy?! We are so close!! I love that you got all your dates. Those are exciting updates for the calendar!!
Home stretch. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I was looking at the PIO
this morning thinking how difficult it would be to get the right spot for the
injection. I think all the women who can
do that are amazing! Apparently you can inject your upper thigh but it hurts.
@artemis618 I did Lupron protocol too so that means we
don’t have corpus luteum, right? So
without that, progesterone would be lower?? I don’t know. Sounds like
everything is better than perfect for you.
Most pregnant woman don’t even get progesterone tested.
@bababatty thanks for the encouragement! How are you
feeling?
@crystal321 I’m so glad you said the lead up to success
was a mess because that’s how I feel! I even bit my tongue really hard. I can’t wait to hear your beta numbers! I bet

@tinjp78 I’m glad you are feeling better I hope you still
had you DH follow up with the clinic though just in case another episode comes
along.
@businesswife there is something about ER, Transfer day, and
the 2WW where time absolutely S.T.A.N.D.S
S.T.I.L.L. Your so close
though! Good luck!
@adirat there is no way to keep sanity and wait patiently
for a beta test. Hope to see a good
update from you soon!
@irisheyes81 I am over the moon happy that this worked out
and still ticked off at that lab. They
are feeding you a bunch of B.S. there is no chain of custody on a blood
sample. Those are used for criminal
cases only. That lab obviously does not
have their sh*t together and is not linking patient clinical care with the
specimens they are testing and playing the excuse game. Disgraceful.
Granted as a person who runs a lab (ahem a good lab) I can get a little
on my soapbox about this. I get that
mistakes happen but the fact that they didn’t own it and bend over backwards
making it right for you is crazy. I’m
glad your nurse was able to set them straight and I hope that your event is
escalated to a safety event team.
Certified labs (by CAP or CLIA) are required to have a method for
investigating events and making documented improvements to prevent reoccurrence. I’m sure the lab had no idea what you are
going through. I am shocked that the
medical community in general knows so little about the crazy that is
infertility treatments. I hope you are
able to set that nightmare aside and relax a little bit before you big day
tomorrow. Good luck tomorrow!

@tinjp78 Sorry for the discomfort - definitely better to be safe than sorry and get checked out. Fx those faint lines get darker!
@Crystal321 Your beta’s going to be ridiculous(ly good!)
@Irisheyes81 What a roller coaster! You were totally justified in crying and yelling. They don’t normally test progesterone, but I’m paranoid so requested it (also I hit my insurance OOP max many months ago so it cost me nothing OOP). I didn’t do lupron to prep for transfer, but the Estrace kept me from ovulating (like the estrogen in birth control pills does). We only get a corpus luteum if we ovulate because the follicle from which we ovulate turns into it. So we get fun shots and suppositories till the placenta picks up the slack. My understanding is that vaginal progesterone doesn’t show up in the blood stream the same way, so it’s not comparing apples to apples.
I am trying to just enjoy each day, but I’m not gonna lie, PGAL brain makes it a little bit harder.
Yes @Irisheyes81. Thank goodness for some good news!

I'm so, so sorry. I was thinking about you the other day, after your HPT. Like: "She did everything right. She's so young. She did the PGS testing. It must be the HPT. It must have been too weak." It's not fair, and I'm so sorry. I wish I could make it better for you, or that I had a magic wand and could restore some kind of justice to this, because there really is none.
Oh @adirat, I am so, so sorry! That is absolutely devastating.
*TW* I’m afraid I don’t have good news either. My beta came back at 28.9 today, which is decidedly in the wrong direction. I have to go back on Friday but I no longer have any hope. We’ll see.
@adirat I’m so, so sorry. Not that it crossed your mind, but you really didn’t do anything wrong. PGS is imperfect and unfortunately guarantees nothing (you did it for PGD, right?). My girlfriend lost a PGS normal with her first transfer last summer when it didn’t implant. She went through a second transfer and delivered that rainbow baby this past July (at age 42!). I know this is devastating, but I have faith that this will work out for you and you will get the babies that you’re meant to. >>>Hugs<<<

Dr did tell me to call her if I get some bleeding or severe stomach pain. Praying this is just gas or my uterus expanding or just something normal.

@safire3 Well done with the beta! Congratulations!!
@tinjp78 that’s scary! I’m glad you’re feeling better now but I agree with all the others to call the line just to be safe. Let us know how you’re doing!

@businesswife You are so close!
AFM -- had my beta drawn this morning, now just have to find a way to wait patiently for six hours...
@Irisheyes81 positive thoughts! Fwiw, the only times I have had success on my transfers have been when the lead up to it was a total disaster. Praying that your luck turns around soon!
@adirat best of luck on the betas
@BusinessWife best of luck on your transfer!
AFM, still waiting patiently for Friday's beta. Why oh why does my clinic do a full 14 days
@tinjp78 How are you feeling?
@Crystal321 You’re almost there!
@BusinessWife It’s really happening! Your post made me think of the Muppet Christmas Carol song where they sing “After all it’s only one more sleep til Christmas.” So for you I now have “After all it’s only one more sleep til transfer” in my head. (Well, 2 more, but whatever.)
@adirat Ive got everything including my hair, crossed for you!!
Guess who gets to transfer tomorrow? ME!!
The high thyroid was a bad blood draw and the RE that is doing the transfer isn’t concerned because thyroid doesn’t affect implantation or pregnancy rates. The OB will increase thyroid once I’m pregnant.
@tinjp78 so sorry about your pain! That is scary and painful and awful. I’m so glad it went away and there was no bleeding associated. What is a chocolate cyst? How are you feeling today?
@adirat good luck today! Thinking of you
@2momshoping I burst in to tears at the lab. They were all blaming each other and saying there was a chain of custody issue. Then, the nurse called and yelled. They felt bad but said there was nothing they could do. It’s such a common test! I was mad because people seemed to minimize what a canceled transfer entails. I was yelling, nobody gets it, nobody takes shots every single day and pills and patches and stress for months and a LAB is the delay. It was a bad couple days leading up to transfer unfortunately.
@businesswife How was your lining?? how are you feeling, transfer buddy?! We are so close!! I love that you got all your dates. Those are exciting updates for the calendar!! Home stretch. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I was looking at the PIO this morning thinking how difficult it would be to get the right spot for the injection. I think all the women who can do that are amazing! Apparently you can inject your upper thigh but it hurts.
@artemis618 I did Lupron protocol too so that means we don’t have corpus luteum, right? So without that, progesterone would be lower?? I don’t know. Sounds like everything is better than perfect for you. Most pregnant woman don’t even get progesterone tested.
@safire3 Can’t wait for more good news!!
@bababatty thanks for the encouragement! How are you feeling?
@crystal321 I’m so glad you said the lead up to success was a mess because that’s how I feel! I even bit my tongue really hard. I can’t wait to hear your beta numbers! I bet they are awesome! Friday is right around the corner

@tinjp78 I’m glad you are feeling better I hope you still had you DH follow up with the clinic though just in case another episode comes along.
@businesswife there is something about ER, Transfer day, and the 2WW where time absolutely S.T.A.N.D.S S.T.I.L.L. Your so close though! Good luck!
@adirat there is no way to keep sanity and wait patiently for a beta test. Hope to see a good update from you soon!
@irisheyes81 I am over the moon happy that this worked out and still ticked off at that lab. They are feeding you a bunch of B.S. there is no chain of custody on a blood sample. Those are used for criminal cases only. That lab obviously does not have their sh*t together and is not linking patient clinical care with the specimens they are testing and playing the excuse game. Disgraceful. Granted as a person who runs a lab (ahem a good lab) I can get a little on my soapbox about this. I get that mistakes happen but the fact that they didn’t own it and bend over backwards making it right for you is crazy. I’m glad your nurse was able to set them straight and I hope that your event is escalated to a safety event team. Certified labs (by CAP or CLIA) are required to have a method for investigating events and making documented improvements to prevent reoccurrence. I’m sure the lab had no idea what you are going through. I am shocked that the medical community in general knows so little about the crazy that is infertility treatments. I hope you are able to set that nightmare aside and relax a little bit before you big day tomorrow.

So excited for your transfers @Irisheyes81 and @BusinessWife!!

Sending you lots of big hugs.
*TW*
I’m afraid I don’t have good news either.
>>>Hugs<<<

@Irisheyes81 I’m glad everything worked out and your clinic is still letting you transfer tomorrow! Sending all the sticky vibes your way.
I kept looking to see if I could find anything, like an image or something that might express how you might be feeling. It's heartbreaking - I keep thinking about heartbreak, and how heartbreak feels. Like just that pain that makes you wonder if you'll die from it.
This was the best I could do, even though it's not quite right:
I'm sorry; really hoping you get better news on Friday.
