@AvrilMai. It went great! Thanks! :) as much as I already kno about what to expect, it was so nice to talk to a real live person and ask questions in real time. One thing I learned was about avoiding the centre of the buttocks bc thats where the sciatic nerve is. Owchie!!!
@kiwi2628that trip
sounds exciting- just in time to escape the cold days coming!
@beachbunnyxo123 I mean, yeah sometimes peoples cycles can
be weird coming off BC, but that doesn’t always mean everyone would ovulate
later than normal, right? The month I
went off BC I ovulated (based on OPK) on my normal cycle day.
@KristoKekerooni hey, seltzer water is cool! Lol. I love it with lime. They do have a spiked seltzer water that is
really good. Kinda like a Limearita, but
no sugar.
Diagnosis (If you've
been): Possible MFI, still testing
Cycle/CD: 14/12
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing
this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Nurse called about my CD3 and husband’s bloodwork
results from last week. The only think
she said was a was a little low of Vitamin D, so the option was 1000 unit pill/day
or 50000 unit pill/week. I guess/hope
that means everything else is normal.
Still waiting on SA results. Oh,
also the culture showed ureaplasma (I think that is what she said), so we get
to take doxycycline 2x day for 14 days and use protection for the next 2 weeks. Cool,
just in time for FW.
How are things going? Just waiting, waiting, waiting….
Any questions? Nope. Well, actually I do have like one million
questions, but most would probably be getting the cart before the horse…
GTKY: If we asked your
SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and
why?" what would they say?
A Tequila shot because I am f’n crazy…okay, not really, but
I feel like it sometimes.
@margorita30 that is wonderful news and what a relief! I guess that makes sense with the genetic testing then and I know how guys are so I understand your frustration. Maybe you can give him a list of ‘suggested’ questions to ask lol.
@zwink1 super excited for you. I hope the shots go well tonight. GL!
@adirat, I'm pretty good right now, thanks for asking friend! Feeling a little bit like an idiot because I stopped bc pills Mon...then all morning I was like, why the f do I feel like I'm having cramps? It wasn't until I got to the RE's office that it finally clicked. I'm glad no one else around can read my mind because I definitely felt a little stupid. Otherwise I've had nothing more than a low grade headache for the last couple days, which has been totally bearable. I've been warned that the bloat is coming though, lol.
@zwink1 I hope the headache goes away! Most of the ladies on the Sept thread only had it 2-3 days. And yeah, the bloat is real... @magnolia131 and I were on the same timeline and commisserated hard. By my egg retrieval barely any of my clothes fit and I was waddling around (also because my ovaries were so sore...). Hopefully you'll have plenty of mature eggs under that bloat though!
@purplg8r Great news! So glad the levels are so increased. 21.7 is so high.
@adirat is it? I have no idea what my levels should be now that I'm on the pills, only that last month they told me anything under 10 is concerning. Do you know more about the medicated levels?
@zwink1 Yes, the bloat is so real. (I've never been so happy to have really lose gauchos to wear at home.) Just take it easy on yourself during that time and don't strain yourself. Trust me, your ovaries will let you know if you are doing too much!

@kiwi2628 Thank you for the timeline! I just scheduled with the RE and I'm on a waiting list . I will not be able to do a consultation until the middle of January. That is so long away.
Try not to stress out too much. In my experience (which is a totally different field but may be applicable), the interview is one of the less important parts of grad school entrance. Basically, they want to make sure you aren't a total whack-job and that you are sufficiently articulate to join the field after graduation in a way that makes the institution look good. Dress professionally, use a firm handshake, make eye contact, and speak like the smart and confident adult you are.
I don't know about your field, but in mine and related fields, you should have answers ready to the following questions: 1. What attracted you to this field? (If it's really different from what you do now, they may ask why you're switching out of your current field, too.) 2. What attracted you to this school? 3. What is your long-term career goal? (In industry, further education, in academia?)
@adirat Thank YOU!!! I need to look up other mock questions to help prepare. Yours got me thinking!

@KristoKekerooni as @adirat said, the interviews are not usually a key factor in determining admission or success. (Unless you are going into a music program or something.) I was really nervous before my interview, but it was incredibly chill. I think it was mostly for them to give me information about the program so I knew what to expect rather than them "testing" me in any way. Obviously you'll want to be polite and be able to explain why you applied in the first place. They also asked me about my interests and if had any passions that might translate into a research project. This helps them get an idea of faculty mentors, depending on the line of work.
Me: 35 DH: 28 TTC since June 2016 Azoospermia diagnosis (zero count) Dec 2016 AZFc chromosome microdeletion discovery March 2017 Unsuccessful TESE for DH in August 2017 October 2017 IVF with donor sperm

@KristoKekerooni - that's awesome!!! I'll echo what @adirat said: the interview is mostly to make sure you're well-suited to the program and that you can articulate your interest and passion for the field. If it's known to be a rigorous program be sure to demonstrate you can handle the workload based on past experiences. For my field (higher education administration) they were looking for applicants who could manage a job and heavy coursework simultaneously since part of the program is hands-on learning and connecting your assignments to your job.
I worked with a student who went into a competitive program in artificial intelligence and he asked me to write a letter of recommendation for him. He was a great student so I was glad to do it. I asked him what the program was looking for and he bluntly said "They need students with social skills" that made me laugh. I made sure I wrote my letter to gently suggest he has an outstanding personality.
@KristoKekerooni I was lucky and my masters program was rolled into my undergrad as a whole five year program so I’m of no help, but for my specialization certification course I’m currently in, I had to write a summary of my strengths, weaknesses, what attracted me to it, exposure to it, experience in the field... Congrats!

AFM... had my appointment yesterday and really liked her. Other than the PCOS, our tests were all pretty good. She is recommending we start letrozole so we will do that next cycle (too late for this one). Hopefully that with the three month HSG magic will be what does the trick.
However, they don't seem to do monitoring here for just medicated cycles (because of the way our provincial healthcare works), and there doesn't seem to be an option to do it out of pocket because the fertility clinics who do the IUI/IVF monitoring only do their own clients. She said letrozole on it's own is fine, and we aren't doing injections or anything with it.
I'm open to thoughts and opinions - but at the same time, I feel like there isn't a lot of choice in the matter.
@LadyMillil I remember you saying you were Canadian... did you do any medicated/TI cycles?
Hi everyone! I've been lurking this thread for a few weeks now and have been rooting for you all on from the sidelines. I think I go here now but if my dx doesn't count please let me know! I'll likely still participate in the dailies for now but I'd also love to participate here as I feel y'all will get my frustration a bit more.
Diagnosis (If you've been): One blocked fallopian tube (possible endo), Still waiting on H's SA.
Cycle/CD: 7/5

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Waiting on H's SA results. Have a consult with the RE on 11/28 to discuss treatment options.
How are things going? It's a blow. Not really unexpected since I've had a gut feeling something was wrong.
Any questions? I've gone down the google rabbit hole. I'll probably hold off on questions until speaking with the RE about options.
GTKY: If we asked your SO, "if your SO were an alcoholic drink, which one would she be and why?" what would they say? H says I'd be a mimosa, my favorite drink. He says it's because I'm half sweet and half surprising.
Speaking of H, he just arrived with wine and pizza for proper wallowing. I'll be back for tags.
@SkilledSailor Oh hun....hugs friend...So sorry your HSG didn't show favourable results, but I'm glad you have answers now. FX for a good appt with the RE later this month. Enjoy all your wine and pizza...I'll be thinking of you!
@KristoKekerooni Congratulations again! What is the masters program in?
@adirat I love the term PASP! So excited for you! I just had the HSG today. I have had endo symptoms for years. I had a laparoscopy done a few years ago to basically confirm it because my symptoms were so textbook but the doctor didn't see anything at the time. They then assumed cysts were the source and prescribed BC. The RE today (not mine) also asked if I've had an ectopic pregnancy but to the best of my knowledge, I haven't.
I've been lurking but now that I'm going through the thread for tags it's really hitting me how many good things have happened in here this week! Love it.
Thanks for all the advice and help, friends! I had the interview this morning. Now to sit back and relax? tll they make a decision.

I did 3 IUIs with clomid @Sailing_Mama I had 1 monitoring ultrasound around CD11/12. My RE said they usually do an ultrasound on your first medicated cycle and then don't do them again unless you change meds/dose. I told the RE I was worried about multiples so she did ultrasounds for all of my cycles. I was in BC at the time and the ultrasounds were billed through the provincial health care.
Really? I'll have to ask the doctor about that then; it was the locum who originally said they don't do monitoring, and then when she didn't say anything I just assumed the locum was correct... Thank you SO much for sharing!

Our journey has come to an end.
I worked with a student who went into a competitive program in artificial intelligence and he asked me to write a letter of recommendation for him. He was a great student so I was glad to do it. I asked him what the program was looking for and he bluntly said "They need students with social skills"
Good luck!

@purplg8r Glad your numbers are up!!
AFM... had my appointment yesterday and really liked her.
Diagnosis (If you've been): One blocked fallopian tube (possible endo), Still waiting on H's SA.
Cycle/CD: 7/5
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
@sailing_mama FX the HSG does the trick for you!
@margorita30 What good news! I'm glad it gives you hope!
@juneroseruby FX you never see those dreaded BFNs again.
@safire3 Oh so exciting!
I've been lurking but now that I'm going through the thread for tags it's really hitting me how many good things have happened in here this week! Love it.
@Sailing_Mama I'm glad you guys have a plan! I don't have much advice-but hopefully others will!
@SkilledSailor so sorry about the results. Hopefully your RE will have a good plan
