@emmasemm it might also be to do with the ganirelix?? I didn’t add it this cycle till stim day 6.... I’m a slow grower though (also usually a bit over suppressed from estrogen). But they are using it to keep me from getting a lead follie instead of ganirelix. 6 is great! There’s no way with that count I’d be throwing in the towel! I know you will get some this time! I know how hard it is to have a long stim cycle (hell, I didn’t even start stimming till CD 8 this time!!!) but it’s all worth it!
Well, just got done with my monitoring appointment. I have 10 follies on the left and 8 on the right! Which is awesome cause on Friday the right only had 1.
afm.... I have about 15 measurable and a bunch of littles that likely wont catch up... My largest is already 17, so I'm getting along!! SO so hoping to trigger Friday!!
AFM: This weekend I went to that Resolve Infertility Conference. I really enjoyed it but did kind of feel like I was in a different place than a lot of the other women. Most who were attending the DE sessions were just learning the basics and trying to get comfortable with the idea of DE. I did connect with some really great people who I think I will keep in touch with and one woman told me I may have helped her accept what a great option DE is. That meant a lot to me. Oh! And I met Nancy Kerrigan. She is not a great speaker but she's adorable (photo in spoiler)
As of Friday I am off bcp and waiting for my period to come to start estrogen. The pms is a little more significant than I recall from the past - maybe because I haven't had a period since the summer. Also my boobs are huge as you may have seen from my photo. Happy Monday.

@laurad75 That's so awesome... I was really curious about the conference when you posted about it before! That's so amazing you were able to help that lady... all of you on the DE thread are helping all of us at least begin to explore the option, so you may not know it, but you've BEEN helping us ladies!!
@steph8986 Awesome follies! Love the pic! @emmasemm Great AFC! Here's to hoping those follicles wake up from their slumber and you get some good news on Friday @baseballhoney Great count! @dragonette505 Awesome numbers! FX for Friday! @laurad75 PMS sucks but I have to say, I don't mind PMS boobs because I need all the help I can get lol I remember watching DWTS where Nancy Kerrigan talked about her story and her 6 (or 8?) miscarriages. I know she mentioned that she went through IVF to build her family. Did she also use DE?

@tosh24 I don't think she used DE but she really didn't share much about her story which made it hard to care what she had to say. She didn't even specify that she used IVF to conceive her younger children. She actually seemed really nervous and uncomfortable which I am sensitive too but it was almost as if she didn't have much prepared.

@baseballhoney yay thats great!! @dragonette505 15?!? Thats amazing! FX @laurad75 I am glad you liked the conference! Its wonderful that you were able to help other people out along in their journey.
I am transferring. They are hoping for day 5 unless the embryos look like they would be better not waiting. It sounded like the day 5 transfer was better odds.
@laurad75 Glad the conference went well! Hope AF comes soon so you can get started! @dragonette505 Glad you are getting close to trigger too! @baseballhoney WHOO for retrieval day and lots of follies
AFM just got back from ANOTHER monitoring appt. Somehow there's 18 follicles now, but a couple are a little small yet. Leads are over 22mm and a big crop of 17-18mm's. We'll trigger tonight with Retrieval on Wed. Just waiting for the call with times for everything. We booked our hotel room for tomorrow night and will be driving after work. (the main clinic is 2 hours from us) Hoping the snow stops soon so the drive isn't so stressful. We got close to 20 inches over the weekend! ALMOST THERE!

@steph8986 great news on getting to trigger! But oh wow I would be super stressed with a 2 hour drive to the clinic in 20 inches of snow! I think you're very wise to stay overnight before rather than risk anything on the day!
@baseballhoney oooh you're so close! And you will be our first transfer of the month :-)
@laurad75 great picture! Sometimes meeting famous people is a good reminder they're also just human... and although it might have been disappointing to not get much new out of it, I think it's truly awesome that you helped others who are earlier in their journeys. Big gold star for you
@dragonette505 sounds like your follies have really woken up now! Fx for Friday trigger so you get your Sunday ER. I don't know about you but it's going to be a long week until Friday to see what's going on in there...
Thanks everyone for your words of support! I'm hoping acupuncture might help them on their way before a Friday.
And to get my follies in the groove we're watching and dancing around the living room to Dirty Dancing this evening :-)

LOL! OMG! I'd be dead!!! You have to do something like this every day now! Next you will have to have your DH serenade your eggs
@dragonette505 Sounds like you're having another productive cycle and stimming a little faster than expected maybe? How large does your RE let your biggest follicle get before triggering? My last clinic always triggered when the largest was 17 or greater
@emmasemm hopefully things start moving a little quicker for your next monitoring. Slow and steady may be better, especially if you have 6 this cycle that could possibly progress. Good luck at your appt in a few days, fingers crossed they grow together!
AFM, finally got insurance approval straightened out for this cycle, and have last BCP tonight and suppression testing tomorrow. My previous clinic had me come in 2-3 days after stopping BCP (or on CD 2 whichever was first) and if low E2 and no follicles would start stims that night. I am already starting to see some big changes here and am excited since the last one didn't bring me success. I go into tomorrow for E2 and lining check and if suppressed, then plan is to start stims on Saturday, which they would technically consider CD5. I also go 4 days on a relatively high dose (150 of gonal and 150 of menopur) and then will have first monitoring appt Wednesday morning. if everything goes according to calendar (but when does it), my expected ER is the day before Thanksgiving, 11/22. However, I am expecting that since he is starting me on higher stims, I may not actually stim 10 days and hopefully will have ER on Monday or Tuesday (a couple days to recover before the holiday), or maybe he will decrease doses and I can hold off until the day after Thanksgiving. Although I would obviously be uncomfortable on Thanksgiving if it's the day before ER, it would at least give me three days to rest. However, I already know that this cannot be planned and whatever is going to happen this cycle will happen. I am just so excited to be getting started!
So excited for those of you who are already well into the process!
Looks like I’ll be joining you ladies - my last IUI didn’t work out. Only on CD2 now and going for my baseline tomorrow. Hope everything is looking good to start stims. I’ll be more active on here now that it’s really happening!
Hi, looks like I'm starting this board quite late! I am on day 3 today and just took my first BC pill. This is my second round of IVF. The first one was with my husband's sperm (retrieved with a microtese surgery) and then we did some IUIs with donor sperm. Now we're back to IVF with the donor. I'm feeling a bit nervous which I think is a mixture of all the residual hormones and the fact that, of course, this is kind of a big thing.
Nice to see you all! Looking forward to having some cycle buddies

That’s always so crazy... the latest I’ve gotten is 11, and I was so afraid we’d fall asleep and forget to do the shot! We set an alarm for 10 minutes before to set it up (of course we were about 10 minutes late doing the shot!)

@steph8986 hope you managed to stay awake! All our ERs are between 8am and 11am so even if they have you high risk and want only 34 hours then they have you first on the list and you only need to do the trigger at 10pm.. 1230 would mean me going to sleep, setting and alarm and waking up for it - no way I'm still awake at that time at the moment lol

@laurad75 Yay for ballroom! International tango is a bit less dangerous than Argentine (because of all of the torqueing in the waist.... You can still dance, but its hard if people don't know you have huge ovaries! Its hard to tell people no ganchos or boleos when youre out at a salon I'm just working with my maestro (and not social dancing) because its easy to get injured on a regular day! I just needed to be back doing it because it makes me haaaappyyyyy
Trigger done!. haha. I set an alarm, but also tried to stay awake, fell asleep about an hour before which made getting up brutal, but the deed is done and these eggies are maturing! T-27 hours to ER!

Hello everyone. Tomorrow DH and I go in for our IVF consult. If all goes well and the doc decides to start right away on our next cycle, I would most likely be looking at a late November transfer, very early December at the latest.
I've been working on getting a list of questions together and the whole thing is starting to overwhelm me and wigg me out a bit. Any suggestions on questions I should be asking?
hi @hoffmanr7! Welcome! This is my first IVF cycle, and my consult was at the end of August. Most of my questions were about the decisions we had to make. (ICSI, or not, PGS Testing or not, Fresh transfer/frozen, 1 embryo transfer or 2, etc). My RE has worked closely with us over the last year and knows our history well, so I wanted her opinions and suggestions on all decisions we had to make, and we decided to take her advice on everything. I also wanted detailed explanations on how the entire process works, and risks. (OHSS, etc.). I got estimated dosages for my meds from her at the time also so I could estimate my costs of the entire process. Hope this helps and good luck with your consult!

@hoffmanr7 Hi! I'm not sure where youre at in the process... I just answered something like this last months thread, so I copy pasted here... just use the part that's useful for you in your consultation:
Fertility Questions: 1. What is my infertility dx (if any) 2. What is my FSH, AMH, and AFC
Protocol questions. 1. What type of cycle am i doing/What drugs are you selecting for me (i.e. antagonist, agonist, microdose Lupron, estrogen priming, testosterone priming, down regulating and etc) [this is good to know so that you can go online and google your protocol, and also so you can discuss it here if you like] 2. What are the doses you are prescribing and why (high doses or mini IVF and etc) 3. Might you change my doses during my cycle if needed?
Stimulation Phase questions.
1. How many antral follicles am I starting this cycle with? (it can be different every cycle) 2. What are my follicle sizes (to be asked each monitoring day)
3. What is my lining thickness (and later in monitoring, is it trilaminar/triple layered which is best for implantation)
Retrieval and post retrieval/transfer questions.
1. How many eggs did you retrieve 2. How many eggs were mature 3. How many mature eggs fertilized normally 4. How many embryos are developing on day 3 and embryo grades 5. How many embryos are ready for transfer/freeze on day 5 and grades 6. How many embryos do you suggest I transfer based on my stats 7. What is my lining before and on day of transfer 8. What is my progesterone ahead of transfer
I mean these are basic, but they are broken in groups so you don't have to think of all of them at the same time. When I'm stimming, I'm not worrying about embryo grades and etc. Hope this helps!
Thank you @dragonette505 and @steph8986 for some great questions. I am feeling really nervous And anxious about this process. I have done 6 iuis but this is sooo much more.
@hoffmanr7 I have my nurse consult for our first IVF cycle tomorrow.
We are out of pocket so this will most likely be our only full cycle so I am hoping and praying it works!! If all goes well, from what the nurse told me, I should start stimming in December 1. I am on BCP right now and will stop on the 26th and have baseline appointment on the 27th.
@hoffmanr7 definitely do as much research as you can before the consult so you know what they’re talking about @dragonette505 what a great list of comprehensive questions!!
My baseline went well today and they okayed me to start! Starting stims today with potential ER next fri/sat! Excited! Here we gooooo!
@mac627 ER is tomorrow 12:30. Almost there. About to go brave the Montana roads in an hour. Happy stimming so glad you are getting started! Remind me, is this your first IVF also?

Re: November IVF
How is everyone else feeling?
Happy Monday.

yay!! Are you transferring this cycle? If so, day 3 or 5?

@dragonette505, haha, hey, maybe that will be the new thing. Forget acupuncture, take up tango lessons!
@baseballhoney Good luck with your upcoming ER also!
Can't wait to hear updates on upcoming ERs!
Looks like I’ll be joining you ladies - my last IUI didn’t work out. Only on CD2 now and going for my baseline tomorrow. Hope everything is looking good to start stims. I’ll be more active on here now that it’s really happening!

@steph8986 hope you managed to stay awake! I mean these are basic, but they are broken in groups so you don't have to think of all of them at the same time. When I'm stimming, I'm not worrying about embryo grades and etc.
Hope this helps!
@hoffmanr7 definitely do as much research as you can before the consult so you know what they’re talking about
My baseline went well today and they okayed me to start! Starting stims today with potential ER next fri/sat! Excited! Here we gooooo!
