Dh and i have combined finances we have for a few years before we got married and this spring we took the Dave Ramsey financial peace class as well. We each also have a private savings that we put a little cash in each month as well, I'm not sure what dh doors with his, but i know mine gets spent on presents at holidays.
If we are bugging out about dh's I've got one. We are having a new high tensile fence put in and had the fence line all planned out, yesterday dh told the fence guy he could move it 16 ft. To the left, not thinking about how much land 16 ft to the left times the length of the alfalfa field turns out to be. Needless to say the fence line needs to be taken down and put where it was planned at our cost. Goodbye $1500 extra because he didn't call to confirm with me that it was okay to do this first.

DH and I have combined finances, for the last 6 years we really haven’t worried much about money due to my job and all the extra I made while traveling. I essentially doubled my base salary those years, and basically anything we wanted to do (within reason) was pretty doable. Like he casually informed me he was heading out to spend $400 on a Nintendo Switch on my last work trip and it was no big deal. Now that I’m home full time and not making that extra money, plus adding in daycare and diapers it’s gonna be a whole new reality lol. We’ve talked about it but I’m not sure either of us is really prepared for it haha.
So I didn’t feel Rory move all day. ALL FREAKING DAY. I went to my friends wedding. Tried to not mentally freak out but did of course. Then I got home with the tired toddler, put him to bed, got aloe’d up, pulled out the Doppler, put it on my belly and there goes my kid kicking me. I found her heartbeat too a second after she started kicking but of course she’s like “haha fooled you Mom.” So. The plus side is now I have a nice and soft belly.
@supercoolstephy I had a day like that last weekend! I was so anxious all day about it and was freaking out thinking I would call my OB the next day but she was back to moving all around the next morning. It was a more active day for me so I don't know if that lulled her to sleep or whatever but man I didn't like it.
@gusgus14@supercoolstephy Whenever that happens to me I lay on my side and drink something cold or I sit in a warm bath with my belly still sticking out of the water. She usually moves under those circumstances. lol. Also since I've been icing/heating my back and side due to back spasms, she's been moving a lot in response to that too.
I’m trying so damn hard to not go to Target and/or shop online for the Hearth and Home collection. I really don’t need anything but I want all the things.
The wedding turned out to be really fun. I will say though, that I've never wanted to throat punch DH so bad as when he fell asleep on the way home. Lol. This photo booth was my very favorite part. And the chocolate cake.
@ryannenikole I left the wedding we were at at 7 and they were about to cut the cake. DH walked around for hours with a piece of cake. Set it down and the caterers threw it away. That’s the story he and his friends told me. Bah. Also, I would have throat punched DH if he’d fallen asleep in the car too.
I think I'm nesting. I wanted to clean ALL the things this morning. I got as far as unloading and loading the dishwasher, switching out laundry, emptying the trash, and sweeping the kitchen floor before my bump and lower back got sore and crampy. Ugh. This is making it really hard to keep the house clean and make any progress on the nursery.
@supercoolstephy likely story. Lol. It's the wedding version of "the dog ate my homework". Lol. But yeah. Here I was at 1am driving us home and he's out in the backseat with the dog. I was so mad!

@supercoolstephy I went at 8 am (guilty). I’ve never participated in the grand opening or reveal of anything but since we were up at 5 am due to the time change-I went for it. All I wanted was a ‘Merry Christmas’ pillow and the wrapping paper. The pillows were gone right away, so I walked out with wrapping paper and a cool green vase.
@supercoolstephy yeah we went to the Target we were closest to and the one thing I wanted they weren't actually carrying. I tried to order it online but it was already sold out.
@missblaze yeah the drink and lay on my side thing didn't work for me and sadly I don't have the capability to take a bath in our house! She's been super active since then though.
ETA: fake out. Just went to our Target and they had one left of the thing I wanted (Letters to Santa mailbox) so I got it. Had to keep myself from buying a bunch of other stuff but made it out relatively cheap.
@jakobaby I didn’t do AS bad as I would have had I gone when they opened. I picked up a morning beautiful mug (cause I need more coffee mugs in my life haha), salt and pepper cup thingies (I’ve been wanting something like this for our table), and the glass house deal. I don’t know. There were more things that I wanted but I’m not a big galvanized metal person so I stayed within my style. Haha.
