Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? Not really. Sometimes we will get out the Christmas decorations that day.

How do you typically celebrate Thanksgiving (with family, friends, etc.)? Lately, my husband's parents and my parents get together for a big dinner. My sister in law and her husband are usually there, as well as my brother. The first time, everyone was a little nervous, now everyone just drinks heartily and gets along great.
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? Stuffing.
What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food? I love all of it, though this year I could see myself being suspicious of green beans.
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? Yes! We have a pie competition. My husband always makes the same pie, it's literally the recipe off the can of cherries for cherry pie. And it almost wins every time. My husband is an art nut so he calls it his On Kawara pie....

Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? We have a big sleepover at one person's house and spend the whole day letting the kiddos play and cook together. Usually the adults imbibe in adult beverages the night of the sleepover and we play cards. Its tons of fun... but always more boring the years I'm pregnant
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping? I will not be shopping this year! We'll be on the road. If we were traveling I'd probably try to hit up Target and Best Buy in the afternoon on Friday after all the die-hards are gone from the stores.

We celebrate with my family. Usually my grandmother hosts but she is recovering from a broken wrist so my mom is hosting this year. Luckily my MIL gets along with all my family so she comes to our celebration. My bro in law and his family live in another state and usually just travel to us for Christmas, not Thanksgiving.
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Its a tie---the pumpkin pie cheesecake my MIL bakes and stuffing--except we call it "dressing" in my family

We usually have a big card game after dinner while we enjoy dessert

We have gone in years past (its always a sh*t show but I admit I kind of love the chaos) but this year I think we will stay home unless there is a crazy good deal on strollers or something at Buy Buy Baby
With family. We alternate families every year. But when you’re we will go with my family and then the neck we will go if my husband and family. Generally if it is the year that we spend it with my in-laws, my family will have our own little Thanksgiving celebration that weekend.

Rolls. My sausage stuffing. Sweet potatoes - no marshmallows or sugar though, ew.

cranberries. Gravy.

Not particularly. My Sil will always make some type of extra booze sangria that her and I will drink. That will change this year.

I will never ever go Thanksgiving night or super early the next day. Once in a blue moon I will go Friday afternoon and hit a couple stores.

We don't live by family and it's too far to travel. Many years we just do our own thing or go out? We've made turkey subs before and went for a hike. Some years we are invited with friends. This year I'm leaning toward just making a small dinner at home for the 4 of us.

we do like to do some Black Friday shopping. Last year I took my 12 yr old to the mall on thanksgiving night. We had a really fun time together but didn't buy a ton. I much prefer online shopping.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
My mom is a very healthy eater and vegetarian so growing up I kind of hated Thanksgiving food; she never tried the turkey (obviously, as a vegetarian) and it was always dry to the point of being inedible. As an adult, I like "normal" food cooked for thanksgiving - LOVE mashed potatoes - but don't have much of a taste for traditional Thanksgiving food. Except wine. When I'm not pregnant, I very much enjoy opening a nice bottle.
What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food?
As mentioned previously... um, lots of it. This is probably a FFFC but I have no interest in stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, etc. I grew up either not eating it at all or eating a version devoid of butter and/or flavor, so nope.
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions?
My mom has us all go around the table and say something we're thankful for. In the past, it was a snark fest for me and my siblings but as adults, it's easy: I am truly thankful for so much.
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping?
Oh hells no. I despise shopping (in stores) in the best of conditions, and Black Friday shopping does not approach optimal conditions. Online shopping all the way for me!!
My daughter and I always wake up early enough to watch the Macy's parade and make cinnamon buns. We eat them with orange juice while sitting in our bathrobes. And the Christmas tree absolutely MUST go up the weekend after Thanksgiving.
I've always avoided Black Friday shopping in years past, but might indulge this year. We are going with friends to the National Harbor to see Mariah Carey's Christmas concert on Black Friday, so might hit up the outlets next door beforehand.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? I love brussels sprouts so that's usually my favorite dish. I'm also a big fan of stuffing if it has sausage and craisins.
What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food? Sweet potato casserole. It's too sweet fo rme.
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? Not really, but we always go out and cut down our Christmas Tree the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping? Yes, but it's mainly an excuse to go out to breakfast with my mom.
We usually switch off between mine and DHs family... we'll do one for thanksgiving, the other for Christmas, then switch the next year. We are going with his parents this year with his sisters/their SOs but my mom and stepdad live a street over from his parents so we'll probably stop by there later on as well.

Mashed potatoes! I load my thanksgiving ones up with butter, heavy cream, garlic, etc. No rules for holiday food, except my poor H who gets his own little portion of gluten/dairy/garlic/onion-free everything (look up the low-FODMAP diet, it's the saddest thing you'll ever see)

nothing on Thanksgiving in particular but H and I usually get our Christmas tree that weekend. Might wait this year since the last 2 in a row we've forgotten to water it for like a day or something and it was dry AF by mid-December and we had to take it down before Christmas because I was terrified it was going to burst into flames!! lol

HELL NO. After working retail (sales and management) for years in my 20s and having to deal with Black Friday every year I will NEVER step foot in a store on Black Friday. All about the Cyber Monday shopping.

Family! Sadly, all of my husband's immediate family has passed away, so it's only my family that we celebrate holidays with. They live exactly 10 mins from our house though, so it's pretty easy!
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Oh man, so much. Top of the list is stuffing FROM A BOX, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce from a can. So, so good.

I'm with @klburke88, it sounds weird but turkey is my least favorite food. I'd be happier with a ham.

Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping All my noes. I go to work and pay the extra price for items happily, as I consider it a "avoiding crazy people and crowds" tax. Being stuck cheek to jaw with strangers who may or may not want to shank me over a stupid retail item is NOT happening.
We alternate every year between my husband's grandmother's and this year my grandmother's.

On my side dinner is always at grammas. In the afternoon the ladies check the ads for any deals they might be interested in while the men sleep through the game.

Yaaasss, give me all the deals. Plus the craziness can be amusing to watch. My sisters, bil, and mom all go out and we have a good time of it then go out for a late breakfast at Perkins.

With family. The past few years have been a bit weird on my side as my brother, uncle, and grandma started going to other places. So we usually go to my parent's early and just do heavy apps then to H's aunt and uncle's for dinner. I am still toying with the idea of hosting this year, but I need to decide asap.

Everyone on my mom's side gets together at my grandparents' farm. It's the BEST. Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday growing up because it was the only time I got to see certain family members.

Every year we bake pies the day before (Wednesday) and then after church we all get together and eat pie that night and just hang out. Any pie that doesn't get eaten that night we eat at our Thanksgiving meal. @stalkinghorse I love the idea of a pie competition. I may have to talk my family into giving that a try this year.

Probably not. The only time we ever do is if there's something specific we want (like a couple years ago we got our TV).

nothing special. My brother-in-law - who is the most hilarious inappropriate person I know - gives grace and then we dig in.

If we go out it’s not until later in the day. But it’s been years since I’ve ventured to the stores on that high holy day.
We don’t live near family, and we have a lot of friends who also don’t have family nearby. For several years we hosted Friendsgiving, but after DS was born, my friends have taken on hosting duties too. This year we’re hosting again.

What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food? Almost all of it. I love the family aspect of Thanksgiving, but strongly dislike all the standard Thanksgiving dinner food.
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? We try to get home early enough on Sunday to set up some of the Christmas decorations. Other than that the weekend is just spent traveling between the families.
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping? I may do some shopping online if there is downtime (I generally order our Christmas cards on Black Friday featuring some photos taken the day before), but no way will I be dealing with the pushy in person crowds!

We live across the country from both of our families, so we’ve been alternating christmas and thanksgiving since we’ve been married. This year we are with the in-laws. It’s usually just their immediate family which is so different from mine with my entire extended family. I actually hope this will be the last year of traveling. Mostly because *unpopular opinion* I HATE being a guest at my in laws during Christmas.

Always with family and for the past few years, I've been the host. NOT doing that this year. I don't get to enjoy anything and I can't relax. This year instead of spending it with immediate family, I'm thinking of DH and I driving up to my aunt's a couple hours away and doing something new.

What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food? stuffing, or 90% of what my MIL makes. I used to get sick every time we ate there, and am now better at figuring out what to avoid, but it is still not my favorite.
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? We do dinner at my grandma's, and also celebrate my brother's birthday (it's the 29th). The asparagus soup is the most important tradition though!
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping? I'm planning on buying our cribs online and probably some other big baby items. I also might go to joanns if I decide I want to make baby quilts.
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? HOMEMADE stuffing! Preferably my Mom's (although mine is pretty good now too). But I love homemade cranberry sauce and my sweet potatoes - with dried cranberries, sage, ginger and a buttery glaze with orange juice and not too much brown sugar. Also, I used to be a hater when it came to green bean casserole and now I love it!
What's your least favorite Thanksgiving food? The turkey. I just don't care about it very much, and it's usually too much meat for me to want to eat. Plus, there's soooo much other better stuff too eat!
Do you have any Thanksgiving family traditions? Getting drunk? Drinking 5 gallons of wine (yes, we did that one year)? Gorging on appetizers before we even get to dinner? Sour cream and onion dip? Turkey sandwiches for lunch the next day (my other favorite Thanksgiving food)?
On the not gluttony side of things: we always say what we're thankful for. As a kid growing up, we had a tradition of watching To Kill A Mockingbird every year around Halloween/Thanksgiving. I love that.
Do you plan to go Black Friday shopping? Hell no! I've got Thanksgiving number three to make that day! I never have, and never will, give into the crass consumerism of going out on Black Friday, but I may do some Cyber Monday baby shopping this year (need to build that cloth diaper stash!)
