CD 4 here today. I will have an office hysteroscopy sometime between Wednesday and next Tuesday (just waiting for them to call me back to schedule a time) and an endometrial biopsy to make sure I don't have a uterine infection. I should hear back at some point this week about whether or not I got one of those early funded IVF spots that opened up. My fingers are crossed because at this point, I think that's the only way I'll ever be able to have a successful pregnancy.

@tosh24 so the only difference is I’ve now been taking the coq10 and DHEA for 2 months. That’s the time I read it takes to get in your system. Nothing else was different. Now I’m wishing I had started taking that stuff from day 1.

@Mack2342 Wow, that's super promising! I really hope those supplements have worked their magic and November is your month. Ugh, I beat myself up for why it's taken me so long to get to this point as well - like, why they hell did I not do this stuff 5 years ago?? But, we do what we think is right for ourselves and what we're comfortable with at the time. Can't beat ourselves up for that (even though hindsight is 20/20...).

@honeybeebub YAY! Off the bench!!!! My hysteroscopy is because of some pelvic pain and cramping I've had the last few months. I was scheduled for a lap in December but last week my RE said that she thinks we should just go right into IVF because time is of the essence (if I get a spot) but that we could do a scope and biopsy to rule out any infection or leftovers from my miscarriages/D&C/IUI procedures, since that requires little to no recovery time and I could go right into IVF the following cycle. In a very weird way, I'm kind of hoping I can see the screen when they do the scope, because how cool would it be to see the inside of your ute on camera!?!?

CD 20 here for me and still WTO... temps are holding steady, and no positive OPKs in sight. This morning’s might have been a touch darker, but still no where near a positive. I feel like this is a never ending waiting game, and just wish that I could control it somehow.

so I'm guessing I shouldn't have stopped the Ubiquinol huh? My doctor has me on like a gazillion supplements right now and said I didn't need that one. Oh well what's one more pill right? Do you think that could be the reason my prog is much higher than 8 months ago?

@mack2342 - have you noticed any difference with your fertile week? This cycle I had 2 days in a row of positive OPK which never happens with me and I had a lot more EWCM. I think I'll still take it.

@tosh24 Things are moving so fast! You were looking at over a year before IVF, now they might have a spot for you in December! All my fingers are crossed for you!!!

@honeybeebub So glad you’re back in the game. I was thinking about you earlier and how long you were benched. You are made of tough stuff, lady! I think 6 months on the bench I would’ve lost my ish!

@vlagrl29 It’s so interesting how much you’re finding out from your new doc. Hopefully she’ll help get some stuff addressed and you’ll get that BFP soon!

@pumpkinpancake Sorry your cycles are being wacky! I get what you mean about not feeling in control. If anything will break me of my type-A tendencies, it will be TTC. I have to accept that there is not really a thing that I can do to ensure I get KU and I hate that!

@tosh24 When they went in and did my septum removal I was kind of bummed that I didn't get pictures of my ute before and after haha, so I completely understand. Everything crossed for good results and that you get that spot!
@pumpkinpancake Do you normally ovulate late? Or is this just a weird cycle? I completely understand the control part. I think it's what makes me crazy about all of this.

@honeybeebub I started doing research when I hit my 3rd IUI. I asked RE about the Coq10 and DHEA and was told they regularly recommend to patients however I had not been told that. He gave me the amounts I should take which is what I read in my research. However, RE made it sound like it was immediate results. Research told me it took about two months before it made a difference and that fits time line. I’ve been taking for two months and now have 4 follicles when I’ve only had two with all my previous cycles. So that’s all I can attribute it to

@honeybeebub in the two cycles since my loss, I’ve been ovulating later (CD29 and 26), so I think my body is just still regulating itself. I’m hoping it slowly starts getting a little earlier until it’s normal again.

@Mack2342 Would you mind sharing the recommended dose and how it is calculated? Also, is it something that should be monitored (i.e. if you are pregnant you should stop immediately)? I'll do my own research as well.
@pumpkinpancake Ugh, hopefully things regulate soon. I agree with Tosh, Oing late must be so incredibly frustrating.

I got mine at Costco online for $28 and it's 200mg a day. I take 2. I read about it in the book "it starts with the egg". Said it can take 3 months to affect your eggs. I have DH take 1 a day. It's for sperm health too.

@honeybeebub coq10 is 400 mg ubiquinol form. DH takes 200 mg too. So I buy it in 200 mg as I take two pills and DH takes one. It’s just a supplement. The DHEA is micronized and I take 25mg 3 times a day if I remember. That one is a hormone so I wanted to ask RE before I took it which he said yes to take it. I’m not being monitored for that. This was the same dosage I read about in research.

@honeybeebub Both DH and I take 400 mg of CoQ10 (in the Ubiquinol form - that is the active form). My naturopath said the fertility dosage is usually 600 mg/day, but it gets super expensive when you have 2 ppl taking that much, so she said 400 mg/day would be effective too. I have DH take as much as me because his motility and morphology are a bit on the low side.

AFM, I'm here now. Good old CD1. Nothing like an embarassing clothing-changing arrival of AF to shove a failed cycle in my face. Is this day over yet? Thankfully my obvious disaster was politely ignored by the majority of my co-workers, and I happen to have a backpack of extra clothing in my car from our recent out of town trip.

whew I went to the grocery store and now all the xmas candy and decor is out. Gosh I just have mixed emotions as my year anniversary comes closer. I remember buying little santa booties to surprise DH with and I have no idea where they are at not that it matters. The EDD didn't bother me but I for sure know the year since loss is going to affect me. I think the hardest part for me is not knowing if we will ever conceive again. It's like if I at least knew I could come to terms a lot quicker and just move on.

@vlagrl29 I feel the same way. Because I'm dealing with SIF, I don't even know if I'll ever be able to conceive again, let alone have a successful pregnancy and get a baby out of all this struggle at the end. It's a tough spot to be in - causes a lot of anxiety. I'll be thinking of you as the holidays creep closer. BTW, did your doctor ever check your AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) level? It's not a "crystal ball" per se, but it can give you a lot of useful information because it measures your ovarian reserve. If the number is high, you have lots of eggs left in your ovaries and, barring any other issues, you may be more likely to conceive naturally. If the number is low, your ovarian reserve is diminished which means you have fewer eggs left and are more likely to need assistance to become pregnant. They usually look at your AMH level along with your CD 3 blood FSH level and your AFC (antral follicle count) from a CD 3 ultrasound (shows you how many resting follicles you have on each ovary). If your AMH is low, your FSH is high, and your AFC is low, the course of action is usually straight to medical assistance (IUI or IVF). Diminished ovarian reserve does not necessarily mean you also have poor egg quality, but they can go hand-in-hand sometimes. I know you have said you will not be going the ART route at all, but still having the AMH test done might give you a more realistic picture about your chances of conceiving naturally so that you can decide if you're going to keep TTC naturally and for how long or if you just want to move on.

@tosh24 I had cd3 blood work in December last year and everything was in normal range so I'm assuming that's good. We just don't have money or coverage for iui and Ivf so like I've said before clomid/femara is pretty much it for us.

@vlagrl29 AMH tests are not part of the standard CD 3 work up that an OB would do. It is part of the standard testing an RE would do, though, and doesn't have to be done on CD 3 (it can be done at any time). It just gives you an idea of how many eggs you have left and how likely you are to conceive on your own. Anyway, I just brought it up because you had mentioned about wishing you knew if you were going to conceive again or if you should move on, and AMH can be a good indicator of your likelihood of conceiving (having a low AMH doesn't mean you can't go on to have a baby, but you'd probably need intervention to do so, so if that's not in your plan, knowing your ovarian reserve might help you make decisions about continuing your TTC journey). If you see an RE in the new year, they'll definitely check your AMH level. I have a borderline low AMH level - even though I'm 34, my levels show that my ovaries are functioning more in the 38-40 year range.

Oh ok @tosh24 - yeah if we see an RE next year I'll get that test. I'm a planner so I'm guessing in Jan we would consult with one and then maybe get started in February with clomid.

@vlagrl29 @tosh24 SIF has its own set of hard days. Sometimes I don't want to keep going, because I'm scared of what another loss will do to me emotionally, but then other days I'm eager to keep trying, because I'm hopeful that it will happen again for me. So for now I'll just keep myself strapped in and keep riding the rollercoaster. I think everyone has different points as to when they've just had enough... I just hope for all of us, whatever the outcome, we can find peace in knowing that we exhausted all possibilities to make it happen and be able to move on or have a beautiful rainbow in our arms (obviously rooting for everyone to have this option). It's so incredibly comforting to have a board of ladies that are going through this, but at the same time it is heartbreaking to know that anyone else has to walk this crappy path with me.

AFM - I'm still brown spotting CD8 which is so rare for me. Thinking the lingering AF may be from the surgery last month, maybe more to take care of and repair in this remodeled ute... but hopefully it doesn't throw off my O day (CD17 usually, but was CD20 after surgery last month). When do you all start taking OPKs, your predicted fertile week or after AF ends for progression?

Officially CD1 now. AF came this morning and cramps prevented me from getting enough sleep.

there are def days I feel 1 kid is enough and there are days where I'm totally content with the present life so I'd know I'd be ok stopping. Actually the rest of this year we are not stressing. Have BD on my fertile cm days. I'm over it. We will see how well this works lol.

@honeybeebub Yeah, SIF is a whole other animal. One one hand we know that we are SO lucky to have what we have, but it still doesn't stop the longing for more children or the heartache we feel because our lives may not turn out the way we had pictured it. And then there's the whole sibling guilt on top of that. I truly hope all of us get to take home a healthy rainbow baby. I usually start using OPKs on CD 8. It's rare, but I have O'd on CD 10 before and all the way up to CD 17 (also rare) so I try to start early enough that I will catch a + if I happen to have an early O. I usually O between CD 13-15 when I'm not on meds, so starting on CD 8 gives me a good progression. I only use one OPK a day until they start getting darker on CD 10 or 11 and then I will use two a day.
