  • Feeling better today, but the pelvic/low abdomen pain was in full effect this weekend. Skipped taking DD to a festival because walking was so painful. After a couple days wearing my support belt and sitting cross-legged (and having DH help pick up DD more), I'm feeling back to normal. No fun.

  • Part symptom but mostly confession: lately when I wear my maternity v-necks I find myself poking my boobs a lot. Lol. I'm just not used to actually having boobs, and in a tight, v-neck shirt, they're so prominent.

Also I make lots of fun sound effects when sitting down/getting up. (Don't worry, both of these are things I only do at home, I refrain from fondling myself and grunting like an ogre at work.)
Hehe. This cracked me up. Dd has started grunting with me. It’s so funny.

  • I’m just sooo tired. Like my body is tired, not even sleepy. Are y’all? I mean I work full time, have a 2 year old, and run a household but this is ridiculous. They’ve upped my BP meds and I thought I was adjusting but maybe not. Or maybe it’s just that I’m 2 years older this time with a toddler.

  • @dkizz82 I'm super tired too. I didn't really have much fatigue in the first tri so I guess it's catching up to me. It's usually just my body being tired like you mentioned, but today I have sleepiness along with it. And I don't have a toddler to wrangle!

  • @dkizz82 I’ve noticed being more tired now... but at last appt they said I’m borderline anemic so that may be my issue... or maybe just cause I’m preggo and still taking dance class and teaching. I was tired yesterday and accomplished nothing. Trying not to beat myself up for wasting a weekend day.
  • @failuretofly haha Thanks for making me feel better about being unproductive!
  • @dkizz82 I'm feeling the same tiredness. It was so hard to get out of bed this morning. Today was the first day I said that I can't wait to be done with work and not have to go there Anymore for awhile.  Even my assistant manager was shocked to hear me say that.  Im just so tired.

@cait5413 I'm glad you are feeling better. I experienced that a few days last week too.  Laying in bed and actually taking it easy helped so much but with a toddler there's only so much we can do of that!  I hope yours continues to feel better.

  • @dkizz82 I'm tired and sleepy. I'm anemic as well so I'm sure that's part of it, but I could sleep all day and not have a problem with it.
  • I've also been tired and sleeping a lot. Not as tired/ill feeling as trimester 1, but getting there.
  • +1 to making noises anytime I move, DH totally keeps pointing it out.

AFM, I was just put on iron supplements and now I'm constipated. And when I'm lucky enough to go #2, it is SO HARD that it has clogged the toilet twice in the last week. Is it normal and can I do anything to soften things up? Fiber always makes things (all the gas) worse for me.
  • @ashtynmo totally normal
My go to to get and keep things regular is a daily smoothie. I put fruit, avocado, flax meal and spinach in mine!

  • @ashtynmo I've been taking iron supplements too, and prunes (2-3 per day) have helped a lot!
  • @ashtynmo +1 to totally normal. I've been taking them for 1.5 yrs and I definitely know when I've been skimping on fruits and veggies.  @failuretofly's smoothie suggestion is a great one. I found greek yogurt + fruit was a great way to get things moving.  Staying hydrated is important too, as it just makes all GI things worse when you're dehydrated. :(

  • I was soooo tired too until I had blood work done a few weeks ago and it turned out that I was anemic.  This happened when I was pregnant before, but I totally forgot about it.  I've been on prescription iron medication for two weeks now and my fatigue is gone.  Now I'm just dealing with the uncomfortable side effect of the iron pills, terrible constipation and hard stools.  Increased fiber and water is helping a bit with that though.

I also just started having bad pelvic pains,  especially after a long day of standing and walking.  I forgot about those pains from my first pregnancy too! I wore my support belly band today though and didn't have any pelvic pains or weird twinges.

It's just crazy how I've forgotten most of the uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms from when I was pregnant with my DS.  I mean, it has only been a year and a half, but somehow pregnancy amnesia is in full effect for me! Hopefully that is how labor goes too.
  • This baby is going to be born with a full head of hair if my never ending heartburn is any sign. So tired of popping Tums.
  • @oldersis I had horrible heartburn with my DS and he was born with a decent amount of hair.  However, he proceeded to lose it all within a week and just had his first hair cut at 2!  And to be honest he didn't even really need a hair cut yet, but we decided to just do it anyways.  Hoping
  • Ugh, it feels like such a silly complaint, but my nails have become super brittle and are breaking like crazy. I'm trying to keep them short, but I just broke another one by unscrewing the cap of my water bottle (wtf?). My nails were so strong and beautiful in my first tri, I was foolishly hoping it would last all the way through. I guess this little guy is stealing all the calcium.

  • @TigerCakes that happened with my son too! Dd was also born with a ton of hair, but hers just kept growing. I should have bought stock in Tums my first pregnancy!
  • @oldersis My DH didn’t have his first hair cut til he was 4, but I had a ton of hair right from the start. I have horrible heart burn this time too, but this baby is a girl so I’m really hoping she gets my hair!
  • Well totally random. Wasn't expecting this at all today or any time soon. Dr just called to schedule a c-section just in case she stays breech. Talk about being proactive on thier end. My goodness. They said she still has time to flip and I can try exercises, chiropractor, acupuncture, cold bag of peas on her head etc. to see what happens in the next few weeks till my next scan on the 27th. She was like how's Nov 28. I said well I'm not doing anything else that day. Oh geez. Lol
  • @shytonia Whoa, that's crazy! Good that they're being proactive in scheduling just in case, but fingers crossed she flips before then!
  • @ShyTonia Wow, that's definitely proactive. I'm sure having that maybe-date on the calendar will make the time fly even faster!

  • @ShyTonia wow! That is very proactive. I already know I’m a rcs and he won’t schedule me tup November. Sigh.... I wish he’d get with it.

It seems like my fatigue should be tied to anemia but bloodwork
    was fine last week.

So dd and I were traveling today and she was fussy. I stopped to pee and let her stretch her legs. I started breathing so hard and couldn’t catch my breath. I got light headed and disoriented. I managed to get her back in her car seat and was about to cal 911 when it passed. I don’t know what it was but it freaked me out. I’m not going anywhere alone again for a long time.

  • just slight anemia over here too, which might be why i feel so exhausted, or maybe that's just the way it is for everyone.

i started on a supplement a few days ago, so we will see.

  • @dkizz82 That's so scary! I'm glad it passed. That sounds similar to my experience in the OB's office last week.

My bloodwork also didn't find that I'm anemic. I kind of wish it did in the hopes that an iron supplement would help (but also, having to take extra measures against constipation would be a pain).

  • @MJDsquared I thought about you. I was just laying flat and got very short of breath again. It’s so scary. I have a terrible head cold and don’t know if it’s part of it. I have an appointment in the morning so hoping for some answers then.

  • @dkizz82 That sounds so scary. Glad you're ok- hope you get to feeling better!
  • @MJDsquared I'm in the same boat. I've been so tired all pregnancy, I could have sworn I was anemic. I got my lab results back after my GD test last week, and everything looks fine. Guess I'll just continue having the energy of a slug throughout the rest of my pregnancy. Ugh.
  • @hellothere47 I’m in the same boat.

  • I think I’ve started experiencing acid reflux. Ive never had heartburn or anything before. I’ve noticed after drinking my morning OJ I’ve had some weird burning feeling in my chest/throat. Nothing bad enough to even take a tums... but I wonder if this will just continue to get worse.
  • @balletnerd orange juice, because it's very acidic, is likely going to cause your acid reflux to be worse.  I would avoid OJ if it's bothersome--for people with acid reflux, it's on the 'do not drink' list.

  • @beary67 thanks. So far OJ is the only thing that has caused it (hence my guess that it might be acid reflux since it’s so acidic) The only reason I’ve been drinking it is my dr wants me to get Vitamin C with my iron so it absorbs better since I’m borderline anemic. Oh well- might have to use a supplement instead.
  • @ShyTonia Goodness! At least you can get prepared, I guess!

@djd0404  I'm in the same boat on the nails front.  My finger AND toenails are constantly chipping/breaking and growing at below a snail's pace.  It's pitiful.

@dkizz82 I can understand how lying flat would cause those symptoms but I'm not sure why it happened from being in the car!  That's scary!  How's your BP been?

AFM, still hanging in there, still snissing, waiting for my belly button to disappear completely.
  • I am not sure if what I am dealing with is acid reflux or heartburn. It's mainly just at night and is manageable if I put the head of my bed on an incline. I'm guessing reflux. Either way, I wish it would go away.

Another symptom I wish would chill is my nips being on high beam. Constantly.

The back and hip pain situation is awful. I read on another thread a lot of comments about massages so I'm going to research that. Someone at work suggested a 'sensory deprivation float'. Has anyone ever done one? I haven't called to ask my doctor if he ok's it yet but Dr. Google doesn't seem to have any issue with it.
