Re: Random Thread: 9/27

  • @hellothere47 no you don't require a referral usually, but some insurance might require one in order to cover it. DHs doesn't but mine does. Most OBs or midwives should be happy to write one. My midwife just wrote "pelvic floor physiotherapy" on a prescription pad with my name and her signature and that did it for my insurance! Lol

  • @hellothere47 I have HMO insurance so I would need a referral for sure. It likely depends on your specific insurance policy.

  • @tamaraaaa Maybe they add in catnip for preggos. Would be a good selling feature.

Fixing wedgies has become increasingly more difficult when the pants reach my boobs.

If you guys use Spotify, I highly suggest checking out "Your Time Capsule" playlist. Mine is absolutely fabulous and VERY timely to the Wednesday Ticker Check GTKY question. Jimmy Eat World, SoCo, Nelly, Saves the Day, Robyn....it's more than I could have ever asked for in a TBT playlist.

@jlemons-2 wow. Keeping that Mom and baby in my thoughts. I was reading on October today for baby announcements, but never would have thought to check January. Hope baby is okay!!

  • I haven't read it yet, but someone on January pointed out dramz in the June 2018 UO thread. (It got closed and everything!) I'm about to dive in.

  • @MJDsquared  I just read it. It was kind of dumb. Even for the social justice warriors here on Dec 17 I feel like taking the UO counter-argument to that extreme was unnecessary and wouldn't have occurred here!  But... according to that logic I guess that makes me sexist.

And then oof, OP had to go and start defending herself with really off-topic commentary.  All the facepalms.
  • @MJDsquared @elcd458 Aside from the actual topic, I thought the gif use was fantastic.
  • @elcd458 It was just very long. I didn't expect the drama to start on page one and continue to page four with very very long paragraphs of responses. It was draining. Lol. I also wouldn't have carried on the argument that long.

@babybison Oh yes, the gif game was on point!

  • Oof that thread, way too long. June 2018 seems so far away. It's pretty crazy each time a new BMB pops up.

Wow about the Jan baby... hope everything is okay. I've been getting kind of nervous lately about going into labor too early.

  • Yeah, I didn't post about the June 18 drams, since I thought it was kinda meh.  Showed some promise for the future though ;)
  • Speaking of the January baby, has anyone heard from @SierraGood lately?  Wasn't she in the hospital at one point? Or am I confused?
  • @elcd458 i haven't seen her around in a while. luckily she seemed to recover from her scare and was home from the hospital and doing fine.

is @vvitchhazel ever coming back? she moved and left us all behind with her old life? lol

@anewadventure she actually can’t get onto the bump anymore!!! Her app won’t work no matter what she does and she doesn’t/can’t get on from a computer :( I was going to see what everyone thought about inviting her to the fb group??

I don't remember where the original discussion on this was (maybe last weeks FFFC?) But the topic of leaving your baby/kid in the car briefly came up at work today and a coworker totally shamed me hard in front of a group of people for even suggesting it (I said something along the lines of "I mean you can't even leave your kid in a car to run in to an ATM these days"). And it was like the judgement in her eyes pierced my soul. Needless to say we will NOT be discussing parenting going forward.

  • Just throwing this out there, but I saw Loving Vincent last night and I wanted to recommend it. I didn't know anything about Vincent van Gogh, but 125 artists hand-painted the whole movie in his style. It was kind of like a murder mystery? Really neat.
  • Ugh... this is me at this point in the game... And I still have 6 weeks 5 days to go.

  • @kyrwyn hahaha I love it! It's so great that, that's the first thought that popped into your head :D

AFM I volunteered to work 12 hours instead of my usual 8 today so a coworker could attend thanksgiving with her family... Ugh Why? This is gonna suck haha. Especially because Sunday's are usually notoriously busy in emerg! Though it *might* be okay since tomorrow is a holiday... here's hoping!
And DH is also working today, and our dayhome is closed on weekends, so we have a babysitter coming over to stay with DS. She's watched him before, but it's been a while, and my hormonal mama bear brain just wants to call in sick to work and call it off because what if he cries and she can't comfort him?!?!
TELL ME ITS GOING TO BE OKAY!

The handoff this morning went well with no tears when I left so hopefully I'm just overreacting and he's fine. (I'm sure he will be)
