I've been suffering from the worst itchy skin on my belly.. Where my new stretch marks have appeared.. I don't want to scratch the skin. I have been using all sorts of creams and oils to try soothe it (I'm not allergic to any) but it's still so itchy!
Has anybody got a good oil/cream/lotion anything that works to soothe itchy skin?
TIA x

  • When I started to itch and scratch I put mama bee by burts bees wax on. I love it and it stopped the itch!

  • Baby oil gel has been working for me. I got the cocoa butter version. It does make me very "slick" so I put I on while I'm damp from the shower, give it a minute to soak in, then wipe down with a hand towel. My skin has never been so moisturized & the itchy is definitely down.

  • I really like the Palmer's Cocoa Butter stretch mark cream (the really rich, thick one). I've been using it every night after my shower and I haven't been itchy at all (plus no stretch marks -- yet).

  • I swear by Caudalie Divine body oil. I got a sample of it at Sephora in the spring and then I quickly became obsessed. I went to buy it after my sample was gone and it was $49 for a 3.4oz bottle. I hesitated, but it was the best $49 I've spent. No itching and it's a dry oil so no greasy feeling. And it lasts all day.

  • Maybe try a more gentle soap, I switch to a sulfate free soap when I'm dry.

Usually I just go with coconut oil while I'm still damp. When it's really bad I follow up with a Shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil butter that I made.

  • I've used Palmers cocoa butter since week 15ish. I haven't experienced any itching or stretch marks (yet!) on my belly. I haven't used it anywhere else and I have noticed some stretch marks on my thighs and hips, so I've started using it there as well. Seems to be working great for me!
  • hannie hannie hannie this is not for the good. to fix this try to buy an onion. when cutting of the onion put in 2 cup water and heat up. after 1 hour you put in catsup and put in fridge. when not hot now eat all. this is to make the itchy of the belly go away. try to stand up always if to lay down the itchy of the belly will be too much and the baby will itch on the head from the inside. baby rumparoo must not do this what? ok you have my welcomes.
  • lotion lotion lotion.  I use Palmer's but I know Gold Bond has anti-itch lotion too
you have strong name. you have much success in life and many happy days. all the womans try to learn from her this is strong name. try to name the baby rachel.
  • Mustela works well for me. Not cheap, but it absorbs quickly & lasts a long time.

  • You may want to switch to a different body wash/soap with good moisturizers in it.  I also use coconut oil after my shower.  Love the stuff.

  • Cetaphil works for me !
  • I've been using Mommy Care - and it's pretty good. https://www.amazon.com/Maternity-Pregnancy-Prevention-Cellulite-Treatment/dp/B0049CEVRI/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1CRIQ5VCN7LAE&coliid=I2YKVWS8QA7TYP

I've noticed when I go through a growth spurt though, it almost doesn't matter what I put on my skin, my skin can't seem to keep up with the growth and so I will inevitably peel or flake around my tummy. I haven't gotten any stretch marks though!!

I'm also a fan of Gold Bond Ultimate with CQ10. I have Cetaphil and I don't think it's as moisturizing. I also HATE the smell and feel of Palmers. It's way too greasy for me. I think right now it's key to stay hydrated too.

  • I have some of the Palmers cocoa butter tummy butter, and that helps. I also have their stretch mark cream. One warning with the tummy butter, it is a bit greasy, so let it soak for a few mins then get dressed.

  • I have been using palmers cocoa butter and bio oil. They both have been working great.
