October FET

Re: October FET

  • @prudence9-2 I had one august, sept, and the third will be this month. Basically we just start monitoring on day 1 of my cycle, weekly blood draws and ultrasounds, start meds when instructed, do the FET, wait 14 days for betas, then stopped meds when I had a negative.

  • @bethann1022 I'm glad that you find encouragement in my posts, I'm seldom negative on things. I was brought up knowing that miracles work and not just by words I really saw them in action as I was growing up. Although I  gulped a bit nervously when I was reading your post. I'm also worried that all these optimism I have would be washed away if ever I get a negative result from my first FET. However, as I start this journey, I realized that I can choose how this will change me. My faith in God is stronger than ever and I became more tolerable to people's attitudes, thinking that they might be undergoing IVF as well  I don't know if I'm saying these things because I have just started IVF recently and I haven't experienced the frustration that some of the ladies here have gone through but I'll try to be uplifting as possible when I'm around.

I pray that your FET would be a good day and that your heart will be happy.
  • @prudence9-2 Your FET is so close! Yay!

@mjpbarretto Dr. said I should continue my nasal spray until she tells me to stop. This is my second day for it.
  • @tinjp78 yeah 1.5-2 weeks away ;) does the nasal spray give you any side effects?

  • Last month, during stims, that nasal spray gave me headaches, a roller coaster emotional state (crying everyday), piercing pain on both ovaries from time to time. Although, I think everything went on very mild, nothing was really serious.

How are you preparing for your FET @prudence9-2
  • @tinjp78 hope you won’t feel too bad from it this time around.

Im not doing anything special to prep... are you planning any special preparations?

@prudence9-2 As for my FET prep, my DH required me to do at least 2 sets of basic squats daily, increased calcium intake, sleep before 11pm and heating my body esp my hands and feet (I take some Chinese herbs).

  • Good luck with your transfers today
  • @Crystal321 That is really hard, especially if you're willing to keep going and YH is not.  I don't know how much you've already gone through, but if it comes to it, I hope you're able to sit down together and work through to a decision that is best for both of you.  But really I hope that it doesn't come to that at all because you get KU with one of your remaining frosties--preferably this one!  Always feel free to vent because we all understand what you're going through, and we all want success for you.

@tinjp78 I can't believe our month is already upon us!

@mjpbarretto I'm so glad the patches are helping with your headaches.  That must be a relief.

@prudence9-2 Yay for lining check in just a few days!

@rainbows2018 I'm sorry to hear only 2 made it to blast.  We only had 3 make it to blast, so I know how disappointing that is when it seems everything is starting out well.  Really hoping that you get good PGS results soon!

@coco305 Welcome!  I suspect I'll have my FET around 10/27; nice to see another end of the monther!

@BusinessWife That's interesting to know about PIO having potentially better outcomes.  I should ask my RE about that since they have me on suppositories again this cycle and I've already expressed concern about my progesterone crashing during the fresh transfer cycle....

@bethann1022 and @20T Good luck with your transfers today!  @bethann1022 I think yours is already done, right?  So congratulations on being PUPO!!
  • ****lurking****

@bethann1022 and @20T best of luck ladies excited for you both!!!  As you should both be PUPO!!

Bababatty I wanted to add that you should ask your RE about it.  For my fresh transfer which was nov 2016 I too was only on suppositories, however this FET before my fire vag I was on BOTH, PIO was every 3rd day and then became everyday with all my issues and stopping the crinone.  what @BusinessWife told you is correct my RE told me the same thing...Its a new study that just came out why I was using both.

    Unexplained Infertility - but I am 40...Low AMH .30
    7 - IUI (50mg-150mg Clomid) Feb - August 2016 all BFN
IVF#1 August 2016 (Antagonist protocol 4/5 eggs) Cancelled cycle :( RE thought I would get at least 10.
IVF#2 Sept 2016 (microdose luporn pro - disappearing follies, ONLY ONE, convert to IUI) BFN
    IVF#3 November 2016 (4 ER, 3 F,  3DT)-BFP  with TWINS // MC both at almost 10wks  :'(
    IVF#4 March 2017 //EPP  (10 ER (1 wonky so 9 ER) 7F, 3B (5AB, (2)5BB) PGS tested- ALL abnormal  :'(
    IVF#5 April 2017 // EPP (7 ER, 7F yes! 6B) 2/5 day 4/6 day - 2 PGS normal! yes!! :)
    IVF#6 May 2017 // Antagonist didn't have time for Estrogen Priming...(4 ER, 3 F, 3B) (5AB, (2) 5BB) 2 PGS normal, yes!! :)
IVF#7 June 2017 // EPP praying this is it and then on to an FET!

  • I had my day 9 stims u/bw today. Estradiol went up from 400 on Friday to 1236. LH and progesterone are normal. Follies size is about 9. Does that sound ok?
  • @bethann1022 congrats on being PUPO!!! Glad it went well. I also plan to drink slower next time. Last time I drank fast and had to pee before transfer (after it was delayed)

@20T hope your transfer went well!!

@Bababatty  yes, lining on Wed! What about you? Have you started with the meds?

@maggier79 I think the number depends on the number of follies you have. The more follies  you have, the larger that number would be. So I don’t think there is really good or bad. Anyway, it’s been almost a year since I’ve done IVF.

  • @prudence9-2 and @mjpbarretto I'm doing well, just waiting for my cycle to wrap up. I'm not doing any Lupron or BCPs, so when I get AF next week, I'll go in for the baseline and we'll start with the estrogen, I guess. I'm so excited for your appointments this week! It's all really getting started.

  • Late to the post - hello everyone! I hope everyone is getting excited about all the possibilities this month :) After a failed FET in July and another in August, we are finally  - mentally, fiscally - ready to try again. Tentative FET on Oct 19th.

    Original TTC length: 4-1/2 years

    Eventual diagnosis: PCOS, anovulatory

Attempted IUI#1: Jan 2015 (had to stop because of unexpected results when "washing" was complete)

Retrieval: August 2015; unable to do fresh transfer under concern for hyperstimulation

    Hysteroscopy: October 2015, June 2017
FET #1: 10/13/2015 - 1 embryo (unsure of grade/quality), continued with a normal, healthy pregnancy with a birth of baby girl on 7/1/2016
    FET #2: 07/03/2017 - 1 embryo (unsure of grade/quality), blood test negative.
    FET #3: 08/23/2017 - 1 embryo (4AA), blood test negative.

  • Welcome @MamaK225! I'm sorry about your last two FETs but hoping for success this round!
  • Thanks, @Bababatty! We were pretty bummed (especially after a success with our first FET), but are hoping this round will be successful. We didn't do PGS since our Retrieval was so successful, and now that they've all been frozen for a couple of years, just feel it's too risky to do it now ... so just hoping for a positive this time!

What is everyone else's prospective FET dates?

  • Happy to have you here, and hoping for the best for you with this transfer, @MamaK225. We are aiming for a transfer on 10/14 but will know more on Friday (second lining check) on whether we will be able to choose our transfer date. Fingers crossed, because next week at work is going to be insane and I can't miss any days except MAYBE Friday if I have to. :(
