Anyone starting September FET?

Re: Anyone starting September FET?

  • @sarcasticowl I'm in your boat. Tested this morning. BFN. I know it's early, my husband has reminded me a thousand times this morning but I can't help but feel disappointed.
  • Loading the player...
  • @sarcasticowl yeah, I have heard friends who did.  But I think it's too soon.  7dp5dt is more like 12dpo, 9dp5dt is like 14dpo, so better to wait!!!! You're not out yet!
  • @sarcasticowl I am 9 days past transfer now. I almost had a moment of weakness yesterday but held out. Testing early just stresses me out more because of the chance of a false reading.  Last time I got so happy over a positive, only for it to go negative 2 days before my betas. Hoping you will go positive though since 5 days is too early in most cases!

    Hellooooo ladies!
I went to my 2nd beta and my 1st ultrasound. Unfortunately, only one embryo stuck, but we  are still very happy with what we have. The little one looks healthy and handsome, just like my husband. My beta is 2690 (crazy number heh?) on 15dp5dt.
On Friday I have noticed that my DH used too much cologne. And that our neighbor is cooking a very smelly breakfast. And everyone SMELLS! Yes, now I am sensitive to smells, it seems like I can smell EVERYTHING. My first pregnancy symptom!

How is everyone doing? I see there are some good news on this board

@JaeJayStark are you feeling ok now? Don't worry about the fever, I have asked at least 5 different doctors and they say it does not affect the baby, unless you take some specific antibiotics or its higher then 102.
Congrats on your great Beta! Looks amazing!

@amynico My injection sites are not only bruised, lumpy and red but also itchy. I guess I might be allergic or something, but it looks like hives or a big mosquito bite. Like I walk around scratching my booty.

@Magallyta Congrats on your transfer! how are you feeling? Cramping is a good sign!

@HottLemonade2886 Lol! You know what my husband told me last night? He read about Tauruses and how mellow and slow they are and he wants me to "hold" the baby, for it to be a Gemini looool. Im due May 20 and May 21 is already a Gemini. Fun Fact: both me and my DH are Gemini

@Medicallyblonde Congrats! woooohooo nice beta!!! keep it going

@FuzzyDust yey for the green light!

    @Hopeful_mom What great news! seeeee??

@sarcasticowl @amynico my cheapie was negative up until 10dp5dt. 5 day pt is still very very early.

@Crystal321 good job! I personally hate that I tested "early" and stressed myself out. Test the day of - thats the best way.

Before we started IVF I said I wanted an Aries baby but now I'll take what I can get. All have their good and bad points and you ever know if you will get a kid that's completely different. • Hi ladies!  I am so excited for those of you that have gotten your BFPs!!  There is so much success so far.

I just updated the google doc with my information.  I received my official BFN on Friday.  As many of you know, this was our 5th FET, and it was our first with our new protocol.  I am waiting to hear back from my doctor about moving forward for FET #6.  We still have two frozen embryos so I am still hopeful.

Good luck to everyone that is still waiting to hear.

Can your RE tell you why it didn't work out? Just curious if there is ever an explanation. Sorry hope I am not digging in just getting informed. This board has helped me tremendously.
  • @Magallyta Good luck with your transfer.  I hope it sticks!  I am feeling fine physically, but starting to feel pretty hopeless after 5 failed transfers.  They never really have any information to give me.  I'm hopeful that I can get some sort of information tomorrow.

  • Hey all, I had hormone and thyroid blood work done this morning and it looks like my thyroid is elevated (3.17). My RE apparently likes to "treat" anyone above a 2.5 so I have a new script for synthroid. Has anyone been on this before? How many pills can one person take in one day orally and vaginally? I don't know but I'm apparently going to find out LOL.
  • Well I am catching a nasty cold it looks like :( I called my RE office for a list of things I can take, but now I am super worried. I probably will crack now and get a HPT. I don't think getting a cold 10 days into the tww would cause problems though? I hate everything right now
  • @Christianner I'm so very sorry to hear your cycle was a BFN.  Looks like you have been through so much, this world of infertility can be so cruel.  Hoping you have a good support system to get you through these tough times.
@HottLemonade2886 great news that lining is all set for next Monday!
@sarcasticowl I have been on thyroid medicine since my 2nd ivf cycle.  My thyroid levels were considered out of range based on RE standards.  From what I understand they like to keep levels a bit lower than the general population.  Just try to take on an empty stomach so it absorbed and don't eat for a half hour or so.
@Crystal321 that sucks that you're feeling so crappy.  I don't think it should impact the cycle.  As a matter of fact haven't two of our Sept BFP's been suffering from colds since they found out?!  Maybe your immune is low for a great reason.  Hang in there.
  • @Crystal321 I have definitely heard a LOT of people get "implantation flu" so don't worry. It sucks but it's a good sign!

@Christianner I wish you all the strength in the world. This is such a hard journey and Its so upsetting that we get hopeful every time. This month did not work, but there is YOUR month somewhere out there, waiting for you. I wish you all the best and I'll pray for you.

@Hopeful_mom Good luck to you today! sending you the stickiest vibes ever! let us know how it goes!

@HottLemonade2886 I agree with you. I wanted a Sagittarius baby, but when it comes to infertility ill take whoever lol

@sarcasticowl This is what happened to me last cycle. My REs standard is 2.4. I started taking one synthroid pill once a day every morning on an empty stomach. I had to take it before and 3 months into the pregnancy. Its nothing major, but needs to be fixed as hypothetically it can cause a MC. But don't worry! these pills fix it and they don't harm the baby. Im still taking them

@Crystal321 you will be surprised but it is a good sign! This is exactly what happened to me, because of pregnancy your immune system goes down. You will be allowed to take Tylenol, you have to control the flu, so it does not get worse. Let us know your results!!!!

  • Hi ladies! To my transfer ladies, anyone hace headaches after transfer. I am now 5 days in & have this headache. Might be catching a head cold.
  • So of course my estradiol levels are at 223 and they want them over 250. They want to push my transfer off a whole week. That means my transfer would be Oct 2nd and fall on one of the worse days for me work wise. This always happens to me with my cycles. They want me to start taking 6 2mg estrogen pills a day. I'm going to see if I can get rechecked on Friday and then maybe transfer Sept. 29th. What are your thoughts? Do you think I'll need a whole week to get over 250?

  • @Cinnamonn - yay for awesome Beta, and sorry that only one bean stuck. On the other hand - it should be a strong one, with such beta!
I'm a Gemini, and with my transfer being on 9/20, I guess if all goes well, I'll have a Gemini baby too :)

    I have a question - how far apart are the Betas (#1, #2, #3)?

AFM, I'm getting very excited for the transfer on Wednesday. All the meds are making me nauseous, and upset my stomach, but it's all worth it. Progesterone suppositories are not a problem at all so far (in terms of application ease), but I do start feeling the "tired and sleepy" effect now.

  • @sarcasticowl ahhh tell me about it. I'm taking so many meds and I have asthma on top of that so I have to use my inhaler once in a while. Imagine how frustrated I was taking meds for my fever?

@HottLemonade2886 listen, last cycle my transfer was pushed by a week due to  my hyroid levels,  and in the end it was canceled because I had a polyp that need to be removed.  I remember how frustrated I was,  but now I'm so thankful that they have prepared the perfect environment for my baby.  I think you should listen to your doctors, they know better and there is no rush in this process.  Like my husband said "we've been waiting for two years, what's another few weeks"

    @FuzzyDust yey for geminis!!
It all depends on the doctor, usually your first beta is on 9-11 day post 5 day transfer.  Then they check you 2 days later and then another two days. My Re for some reason scheduled my 2nd beta 4 days later,  when my third one was supposed to take place

  • @Crystal321 I truly think the cold is a good sign -- I got a sore throat the day I got my BFP and have had mild URI symptoms ever since, I'm just turning the corner today. Pregnancy lowers your viral immunity so a lot of people catch a cold when they first get pregnant and it's no big deal.

Beta #2 was 1156! Feeling good about it. Ultrasound #1 in a week.

    1st cycle of IVF started July 2017. ER- 21R, 14M, 12F, 7 blasts. 5 PGS normal frozen.

    FET scheduled for 9/6/17

  • @Cinnamonn So I'm going back in Friday to be rechecked. They said since I was almost there and did go in a day early to be checked they were fine with me checking again on Friday. Of course if we still aren't there I'll need to recheck again on Monday so we shall see what Friday brings. I have only been taking the estrogen pills orally and have seen a lot of your ladies say vaginally is better so I asked if I should do that at all and they said no. I will be doubling my dose though so now it will be 6 2mg pills a day. Seems like a lot but hopefully will do the trick.

  • Here's a random question for you, ladies: Did any of you have blood work for hormone levels done before your beta? If so, what were your results? My boobs stopped hurting today which scares the ever-loving hell out of me, but my hormone levels were fine according to the nurse (she would have said otherwise). My thyroid is up but that's got nothing to do with the preggo boob feeling. Do I need to worry about this or is this something that comes and goes? @Cinnamonn, @Medicallyblonde, thoughts?
  • @sarcasticowl yes I had estradiol and progesterone levels checked 2 days after transfer just to make sure everything was in range. I have had no symptoms so far other than getting a cold. Historically I am not that great at picking up on subtle symptoms thought. I really wouldn't worry too much. And your beta is just a couple of days away!

    1st cycle of IVF started July 2017. ER- 21R, 14M, 12F, 7 blasts. 5 PGS normal frozen.

    FET scheduled for 9/6/17

  • @Medicallyblonde And you're a doctor?! LOL :):)
  • @sarcasticowl yes doctors are notoriously horrible about neglecting our own health!!! I'm still in residency, my chief year of surgery, and I work crazy hours so I kind of always feel lousy, sad but true : /

@Medicallyblonde I never got the traditional symptoms with any of my pregnancies, even the one that went full term. My symptoms are having a watery mouth, fatigue, crazy dreams, and a stronger sense of smell. I never got sick or cravings at all. Nevet got sore breasts, none of that really. I wouldn't worry much on the symptoms as they are different for everyone. I might add that progesterone duplicates the symptoms for me, so it's hard to know what is real and fake

@HottLemonade2886 trust me, esterase does the job. Fingers crossed for Friday! you are not laking that much in numbers, I think you'll be fine!

@sarcasticowl Im sure each one of us was tested for hormone levels prior to any procedures. Its funny you've mentioned the boob thing -Mine have been hurting and growing and then it stopped. Then I was very sensitive to smells, now it stopped too! If you ask me, I don't feel anything right now. Maybe tiered (when am I not? lol)

@Medicallyblonde yey! your Beta looks amazing! I love that we have a doctor on this board.

This rises a question - who does what? Lets get to know each other. Im an interior designer, I have just opened my own company. I left a design firm I was working for in May, due to too much stress (I had my IVF at that time)

  • I'm an administrative assistant at a university :)
  • hi ladies!! I am PUPO yay!!!  Its so exciting to type that and its for me woohoo!!!
It was an interesting day.  Of course I didn't get much sleep and was headed to the clinic bright and early for acupuncture first.  Got there and they basically tell me I'm not scheduled for my transfer till the afternoon....really thats odd AND thats not what they told me on saturday.  SOOOOO regardless we get things moving and the RE doing my transfer is awesome and tells me he'll fit me into his day and it won't be a problem.  I was thrilled all systems were a go.  OF COURSE I was already stressing but i really was just trying to stay calm and go with it.
I won't lie till I found out my lil pnut thawed ok and was ready for transfer I was nervous....OH was running late of course cause it wouldn't be him if he wasn't   And after 60ozs of water I was ready to go.  My fresh transfer I held my bladder through acupuncture and it was torture so this time it really was so much better.  Did Acupuncture right after and was exhausted by the time I got home and slept the whole afternoon....I think I slept more today then after my ER this time...not kidding.  Hopefully that lil nugget is getting all cozy and snuggly.
Just had my pineapple drink...let the symptom spotting begin...you know I already had a lil cramp and  was like yes lets keep it coming and then nothing...

Why I'm acting like I've never been through this before I guess I just have to hope I'll have similiar symptoms since it did work prior and thats what worries me...I'll try not to drive myself too crazy... or you   haaaaaaa.

sarcasticowl when did your thyroid get checked that they noticed it?  Last they checked mine it was normal but it does run in my family.  Wonder if thats something i should ask about hmmmmmm Like @Cinnamonn said u just have to take it in the am and not have dairy for an hr and fasting...something like that.

FuzzyDust you'll be PUPO in no time woohoo!!  Usually Betas are every 2 days BUT each clinic is different, some just do 2 and then an US.

@HottLemonade2886 hmmmm I'm really surprised they're not letting you start?  Mine wanted mine over 200.  Remember my freak out last week?  my E2 went from 178 to 142 to 300 yay!!!  (that was after the vag estrace) What do they have against the estrace vaginally?  My body responded to it better that way in just 3 days.  Ask to do 2mg at night vag You'll totally be on track as you're already over 200.

    @Cinnamonn, how are you feeling?

@Medicallyblonde great beta bring on the US!!!  yes!!!  I give you all the credit in the world pushing through your job and this at the same time!  Not easy for sure!!

Crystal321 sorry you're not feeling well!  really hoping its a new symptom for you this time around!

  • @Cinnamonn I'm in accounting which is why I'm trying to stay away from the beginning of the month. Always a busy time in accounting.

@Hopeful_mom Woohoo! So happy to hear your transfer went well. Do you know the gender of your embryo?

One of the first things I thought about after they told me they wanted my estrogen higher was your bloodwork rollercoaster. When I looked back and saw your clinic only wanted 200 it made me feel better about questioning needing a whole week. I think my clinic can be a little picky from what I've seen. It might be for the best but part of me wonders if it's for their numbers. I started questioning that when I found out they don't even like to freeze "fair" embryos. I'm not sure why they don't do vaginal estrogen. She didn't say anything except no just do it orally. I'm kind of thinking of maybe doing some vaginally but maybe I'll just do that if Friday doesn't work out.
