@amynico I got my chances from our clinic's SART rates for women my age using their own eggs. The unfortunate thing is that they don't differentiate between tested and untested embryos, and honestly no one there ever gave me a specific number. I found it at https://www.SART.org. I know two people personally whose fresh transfers worked the first time but neither has my uterine issues so I play kind of fast and loose with my odds based on what the SART number is. I truly hope it's higher but I'd rather prepare to do this four or five times than think it's one-and-done (but fingers crossed anyway!).

They didn't measure my lining at transfer, which I found kind of odd, but I'm hoping I was still in the range I was on Monday (9.86, which I am still BLOWN AWAY by). 8.5 is still a really good number, so don't think about it! I was told to start thinking and acting pregnant because so much of our health and well-being is mind-based. Easier said than done :)

@Magallyta I was told to avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners but otherwise eat normally. My acupuncturist said to eat a lot and eat frequently. I had a bunch of pineapple a few hours after transfer and also some soup, then I snacked on rosemary triscuits and cheese. Dinner was steak and broccoli and I had ice cream for dessert. Eating my feelings, clearly

@Mewkie you are correct. Heat is not allowed on the stomach. But it is okay on the butt. As long as its local to the butt!!!

but try the ice packs. That's what helped me reduce the bruises and whatever allergic reaction I had.

@Crystal321 so you're transferring one? do you know the gender?

@Medicallyblonde yaasss!!! keep it up! congrats!

@Magallyta congratulations on your transfer! I was told to avoid caffeine and alcohol. And no sex :/

@Hopeful_mom I can't believe you took 1mg instead of 2  :D But hey, even 1mg did the thing! you are on the Lucky September Board! Woohooo Im so happy for you

@Magallyta it really depends on the woman, I was cramping and one of my friends wasn't and we both got BFP. Her BFP is actually 8 months old now.

@sarcasticowl I went on that website and it gave me 49% for life birth. Are you kidding me? Im 30 and I don't have any issues, my RE gave me 80% or something. Its all bs, don't go there anymore

    ----------------------------------------

You guys, ok I understand that some of you don't believe in astrology. But I'm telling you, the whole eclipse thing and the way stars have aliened  - September is a REALLY lucky time for new beginnings. Not only its good for all sorts of surgeries, healing and health improvement - its also good to change a job, get a house (I remember someone mentioned it on this board) and for new beginnings, (like new lives <3o:) ) in general
Oh, forgot to mention: if we all make it to month 9 (and we all will), our children will be Tauruses - which is the BEST zodiac sign for a child - they are calm and learn to behave well fast

    ------------------------------------------

    AFM today:
    Negatives - I have a fever and a temperature of 100.1  :s
Positives - My bbs are growing :)

@cinnamonn glad it's going great for you  Love your astrology analysis!! So true this board has a lot of positive energy.

Did you do bed rest after transfer? I've been up & about I haven't felt much , walked around , took a drive to acupuncture. Just nervous didn't get enough rest. I plan to rest all day tomorrow before going back to work Friday.

@Cinnamonn we only did one and did not do PGS. If all 3 fail, we will be foing pgs with the next ivf though

In other news, I keep having phantom symptoms that come and go and it makes me crazy. I am only 5 days past transfer so I know it's nothing, but nonetheless it's annoying

@Hopeful_mom awesome news on all accounts!! Estrogen, lining, and RE that will do transfer.  In the spirit of @cinnomonn's theories the stars are aligning for you!  You got this.
@Cinnamonn love the positive vibes and hoping you are so right about good luck surrounding the recent eclipse.  Sorry you are feeling so lousy but yay for growing boobs!

AFM went for pre transfer blood work and US today.  Fluid is gone and lining looks good.  Hopefully estrogen levels are good and we will be ready to go tomorrow!  Come on little embryo, thaw and do your thing.

Hey guys, I totally get what you're saying about SART. I'm just the kind of person who would rather think I have a lesser chance than be super disappointed, you know? Like, if I'm going to a restaurant and they tell me the wait is an hour and I get sat after 30 minutes, I'm going to be happy LOL. That's just how I am. I'm sure I have better odds, but the thing is, uterine issues are somewhat rare in the relative scheme of infertility, so none of the percentages likely apply to me anyway :)

@Cinnamonn I totally dig that astrology analysis. I'll take it!
  • Options
@Magallyta I did have cramps the first day but I was told it might be because of the catheter. I'm having a hard time differentiating the pain of cramps and these damn PIO injections. They make it hard to walk and lay down and heaven forbid my DH slap me on my bottom. ( I think he has gotten the point now) anyway as far as symptoms go... everything that might be a sign of pregnancy is also a symptom of all the medications so we will have to wait and see. Good luck to you! How are you feeling?
@Hopeful_mom omg! I'm so so excited for you! I'm so glad you got the go ahead!
@Cinnamonn I love your thoughts on the luck with the stars! It's a beautiful way to look at it and to give the rest of us lots of hope. Thank you for that! I hope you feel better soon!
@Mewkie sounds like things are aligning perfectly for you! Good luck to you tomorrow! Best sticky vibes I got, coming your way!!!
@Crystal321 I forgot if you filled it in or not on the spread sheet. Are you gonna take any HPT before beta or when is your first beta?
@Medicallyblonde I think my cramps were early though, I'm only 2 or 3 days post transfer. Not sure if you count day you transfer or how you write it with the numbers and letters?? Can someone tell me how to do that?
@prudence9-2 I really hope your right about using heat on your booty after transfer because I sure did. I'm struggling with those shots. I take one every morning at 6:30am and by 2:00pm I can barely touch or bend that side. It gets so sore!

  • Options
@amynico I didn't fill out the spreadsheet. I guess I should.. I am trying my best not to test because I have a history of CPs and early loss (up to 5 now), so there is no use getting my hopes up until I see the numbers from the doctor
  • Options
@crystal321 oh, I'm so sorry that has been your past but not anymore, right?! This time it will be different! You are gonna have great numbers at your appointment! When is it? I'll be sending you lots of positive energy and praying that this is your lucky month!

Hey all, I found this on a fertility clinic's website, just in case you're wondering what your embryo is up to. I'm sure it's not written in stone but it's a good idea of what's happening when :)

    Step-By-Step

Here's what happens to the Day 5 embryos ( blastocysts) after their transfer is complete.

    • Day 1 – After the embryos are transferred, the cells keep dividing. The blastocyst begins to emerge from its shell and this process is called hatching.
    • Day 2 – The second day is crucial because this is the time when the embryo begins to attach itself to the uterine lining. The blastocyst continues to grow.
    • Day 3 – On this day, the blastocyst invades into the uterine lining and implantation begins. The woman may have light bleeding and spotting on this day
    • Day 4 – On the fourth day, the blastocyst continues dig deeper into the uterus Light bleeding and spotting may continue on this day as the embryo invades the endometrial blood vessels to nourish itself through the maternal blood supply. However, the absence of any bleeding, cramping and spotting does not mean that implantation has not occurred so don't let your mind play games with you.
    • Day 5 – On the fifth day, implantation is considered complete. The embryo is developing vigorously.
    • Day 6 – The growing embryo triggers the release of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) into the blood stream. This is a hormone that is produced by the syncytiotrophoblast, the specialised cells which will form the placenta later on
    • Day 7 – The fetal development is in full swing and the embryo continues to develop quickly. As the placenta begins to take shape, it continues to release more hCG into the blood stream
    • Day 8 – More hCG is released into the blood, as fetal development continues and the placenta begins to function.
    • Day 9 – By this time, the levels of the hormone hCG, are high enough in the blood stream to be detected. You may take a home pregnancy test today. If the test is negative, it could still be a false negative. Wait for another two days and take the test again. The blood test for beta HCG is much more relaible and is usually done about 10 -12 days after blastocyst transfer.

@amynico every time when they told me no heat after transfer they said but it's ok local heat pad on your butt after PIO.

So I wouldn't worry about heat on the butt. As long as it local and doesn't raise your body temperature which it shouldn't.  :)

Lovenox, to me, is far worse than PIO. It might be because I have a fat ass, but PIO doesn't really bother me that much. My husband gives me the shot and he's awesome at it. Lovenox, though, BURNS TO HIGH HELL. I can't wait to not take that $hit anymore!

@Hopeful_mom oh wow! PIO every 3 days. That's great. I feel that the worst part with PIO is when you do it every day and sometimes it takes more than 48 hours for one side to recover. But you have to inject again. So now you can do on each side once every 6 days. Not too bad! How much do you inject? I usually start with 0.5 for few days. Then 1.0. But then it is 1.5 for few months.  :|

FX I'll be on PIO until 12 weeks this time around!!!

@Hopeful_mom the Lovenox is a blood thinner you take daily in your stomach.

@sarcasticowl I have gotten so used to it that it doesnt bother me much. I found that if I tightly squeeze a bit of fat on the side of my belly it really helps, and to inject the medicine slowly to counteract the burning feeling. Also I do them myself so I can control the pain, so to speak. The progesterone shots are a bit much for me though since I insist on doing them myself. It's not the needle part that really gets me but the plunger is so hard to push down

@hopeful_mom it's been used specifically to counteract a clotting disorder where blood cannot make it through the placenta.  My RE said he has had good luck in the past putting unexplained MC patients on it. TW, I used it while pregnant on my IVF cycle and had a smooth pregnancy. Not sure if it helped, but it didn't hurt either

ETA - my blood is thick, but not necessarily thick enough to call for the Lovenox. He gave it to me anyway as a precaution, if that makes sense

Crystal321 i have to say i'm nervous that mine could've been just that since my MC is unexplained and was so unexpected!! Now having a new RE I guess I need to ask them...have to remember this on transfer day.

@hopeful_mom it's interesting how every protocol is different. In my case I think it is: first 3 days 0.5, next two days 1.0 and from transfer day, 1.5 daily until 12 weeks (yep, I'm trying to be optimistic as well).  :D

@amynico cool, so your transfer is in few days?

I'm active on the October FET. But actually since I already started preparation for it few days ago, I feel like I belong here too. Haha.

My medicated cycle is very long and takes about 4.5-5 weeks.
