@elcd458 I was actually wondering last night whether the laparoscopic surgery I had about 13 years ago would in any way impact my belly button's innie or outieness during the pregnancy. Right now it's kind of flat and shallow, but definitely still an innie at 25w!
@leilagphillips YES! Still an innie but like, if I stick my pinkie finger in it (LOL) it doesn't really touch the sides because it's gotten so... wide? Ack belly buttons are so gross to me
@clovelyone and @KathrynJ088 my shortness of breath is just sitting even it's terrible! Last night I think I got my first bit of heart burn. I seem to be craving candy..
My rage is out of hand tonight. I had an extremely incompetent cashier at Walgreens and it eventually got figured out (but in a less-than-ideal way). Normally I'd come home, vent to DH, and get over it but I'm just stewing about it lol. I feel like I want to go and be alone because I'm just so generally irritated with life now.
@MJDsquared Yesss!! I wouldn't even say I'm in a bad mood most of the time, I'm actually super happy/excited, especially when baby is active, but I definitely have a hair trigger and zero tolerance for BS. The morons people I work with would tell you that pregnancy has made me constantly irritable and impatient, but it's being around them that makes me that way! Once I step outside the office, I'm smiling and chatty. (Well, until we get to the customer service counter at Home Depot and they completely ignore me even though I know they saw me and then the rage begins again...)
@djd0404 I'm so glad it isn't just me! I was trying really hard to not snap at DH and once we finished dinner I was like, "I'm taking a bath!" and ran upstairs to relax and read in the bath, which helped, thankfully.
I'm somehow both extra angry and extra whiny. Having the flu has apparently improved my grumpiness, since I don't have the energy to get angry about thing (according to DH).
I went through this stage end of first tri/ early second tri when I couldn't stand anything touching or compressing my belly. It's back again. I don't know if this is because of 3rd tri rapid growth/stretching or the flu. I'm kind of hoping it's because of the flu. It sucks. I have an adjustable desk at work and I had to raise it about 2" today to clear the bump.
@djd0404@MJDsquared Yes!! My BS tolerance is so low right now, and the general target is my boss. Literally everything he does annoys the crap out of me lately! I count down the minutes until I'm home and back in my "safe space" again away from him.
@dkizz82 funny you ask that, because I actually had one of our MA's at work take my blood pressure. It was on the low side and in the normal range for me. Definitely wasn't close to being high at all. I had that thought too!
I'm 28 weeks tomorrow (ftm). Anyone's bump getting harder? Like whenever I press it's so much more firm than it used to be - is this just baby getting bigger?
I also can't get a handle on whether I'm feeling BH or not. I feel like I had one maybe on Saturday? And this other firmness is just baby?

@whiska I noticed that too that my belly seems much firmer. Sometimes more so on the right side so I'm thinking that's where she's most comfy. But then today it's all around tighter. I also felt yesterday the craziest stretching sensation of my skin from the inside out. It was really bizarre. (Above my belly button) I am also 28 weeks xo
@ShyTonia that stretching above your belly button could be your abs separating (scientifically, your linea alba stretching) to accommodate baby's growth. It can be exacerbated by bad posture/alignment or doing exercises that put pressure on it. Try doing some 'baby hug' (or belly pump, google it!) exercises and see if that helps!
[snipped] I also can't get a handle on whether I'm feeling BH or not. I feel like I had one maybe on Saturday? And this other firmness is just baby?
I've also wondered whether I'm feeling BH or not. There have been a few occasions on which my belly gets super tight and I feel uncomfortable, but it usually happens after a big meal so I'm left wondering if it's just limited space due to baby+full stomach. Last time the tightness also decreased dramatically as soon as I sat down. So I don't know if BH is one of those things that "you'll definitely know when you have them" or if it's possible I am experiencing them and they're just... weird?
@whiska@ShyTonia I definitely feel like my bump is more stretched out/tighter. I feel like my little guy grew hugely in the last week and my body's just trying to keep up. It's getting harder to find comfortable ways to sit or lay down, too, and I find I lean back a little further when I walk to make more space. I'm 28+5 so there's plenty of stretching and growing left to do. Oof.
@djd0404 I've also had those few times where I'm not in pain at all, but SUPER uncomfortable because it suddenly feels like I ate a 9-course meal and my stomach is going to EXPLODE! I never even thought about that possibly being BH and now I'm wondering. I always just assumed it was because of eating, but I know it's happened after I get in bed a few times and I normally don't eat much that close to going to bed.
@whiska@shytonia I'm experiencing the same thing. Certain times of the day, one side of my belly will get firmer (usually the right side) and it'll feel like the baby is stretching out my stomach from the inside. The movements are becoming stronger and more alien/worm like. I'm 25 + 6 weeks. I don't know how to tell the difference between this and BH contractions.
Here's a new one - my 'bigger' bras have been getting a little spilly over the last couple weeks, so I tried on the bra i bought at the end of my pregnancy with DS, and it fits, perfectly... So there's that. I just hope my nursing bras will still fit when the time comes!
That's so funny we're all having that firmness on the right. For about 4-5 weeks now that spot (just to the right of and below my belly button) gets really hard from time to time and I always assumed it was baby snuggling in right there. Because I would gently press on it / feels the edges and it would go away.
@ShyTonia I've had a few of those - about once every few weeks for the last two months -- I told H it feels like the scene in Alien where something is about to burrow out from my stomach! Mine's always above the belly button and to the right. @kvacmak muscle separating would definitely make sense with that sensation!
I've been having the bloating stomach after eating too much feeling for months now. It's like my whole stomach/abdomen is a balloon if I eat too much - so taut and like it could be popped with a pin lol. But this is a bit different; like I just have this hard bump jutting out from my abdomen now, instead of that general all over bigness/squishiness I had before.
My therapist told me that BH for her felt like 1) baby was moving, like pushing out against her stomach and making it hard 2) it was pretty uncomfortable and 3) she would get flushed when they were over. She said it wasn't even until her 2nd pregnancy and she happened to be hooked up to a monitor and they were like "Hey, that's BH!" and she was like "What? I always thought that was just baby moving!?"

I had BH a lot with my twins. How I can explain it is that it feels like a tightness that lasts for about 30-60 seconds and then subsides. Then it happens again. It keeps doing that. If it's just general tightness all the time, that's probably just your uterus expanding to accommodate the baby. I feel tightness currently, but not BH. If you feel a lot of BH drink something cold and lay on your left side. That should help. If they keep happening do not be afraid to go in and get monitored. Mine actually ended up being small contractions that were pretty consistent when I got monitored.

Anyone experiencing pinching in the vagina? The best I can describe it is that it feels like when the Dr is cranking open the clamp down there during an exam. I called my OB and she told me it's likely baby hitting a nerve in uterus. 3rd trimester is bringing along some fun new pressure and pain for this FTM.
I'm 25 weeks right now, and I have a 17 month old daughter. She's such a snuggle bug and wants to be held a lot. I've noticed that it feels like my stomach (uterine) muscles have a pulling sensation when I hold her. It's not braxton hicks, but it is uncomfortable and I can't hold her for very long. Lately any kind of pressure on my stomach yields the same pulling, uncomfortable sensation. Anyone else?
