Anyone starting September FET?

@prudence9-2 I have no earthly idea why I'm on Lovenox. I have no history of miscarriage or blood clotting disorders, so I'm thinking it might just be standard protocol at my RE's office? @Crystal321 I give myself the Lovenox shot (DH does my progesterone) and I try to go really slowly too but man it burns no matter what I do. I will try to pinch harder tonight and see what happens. Only one time did I not feel it at all and it was soooo nice.

@sarcasticowl yeah it's no fun at all. Sometimes you don't even feel it and sometimes it's just awful. I find that my left side is less sensitive for some reason

Hey I just opened the chart and noticed some people's betas are scheduled before the end of the TWW. Is that common? Mine is on 9-22 (it's wrong on the chart but I cannot edit from my phone.)

Hopeful_mom So excited for your transfer! Hoping for a super glue baby! I had my beta today. Update below.

Cinnamonn Girl, we are so alike! I had a fever last night. Slightly lower than yours. I hope you are feeling better.

Magallyta Try not to worry about the bed rest. Many clinics want you up and moving to have good blood flow.

Crystal321 It's nearly impossible not to symptom spot. We all do it!

Mewkie So excited for you! Transfer is a Huuuuuuge step and makes it all feel so real.

2nd Beta today and more than doubled. I'm at 402.6. @Cinnamonn you do have a lot of HCG up in there! I too had a fever last night and been super tired. Boobs are feeling sore and I had some nausea last night and this morning.

I have an ultrasound next Friday just to put myself at ease to make sure the baby implanted in a good spot.

@JaeJayStark great news on your second beta!
@Crystal321 my clinic always does beta 9 days after a 6 day transfer.
Thanks for all the positive vibes for tomorrow!  I'm so nervous it might not survive the thaw.  I have to really work on being positive and give this last little embryo a good shot.
@amynico I have heard of some women being on 2ml of PIO.  I'm don't think it's unheard of.  I would imagine they have checked your levels and would adjust accordingly if they had to.
I am on 1cc of progesterone in oil.  No estrogen because I stimmed with Gonal-F so my estrogen levels are good.  My doctor thinks maybe I react better to making my own estrogen vs taking synthetic.  I've tried medicated, natural, and now this stim cycle.   I think I technically could have taken the vaginal suppositories because I did ovulate during this cycle but I had a dang reaction to those last time too!  Again, I have taken them once in the past years ago without issue then bam out of nowhere reaction.  Strange.

@Mewkie best wishes tomorrow! I hear you about being nervous about the thaw. That was my biggest worry as well. When the nurse let me know he made it, I cried. Such relief! I'm sure things will be great tomorrow!
  • Options
So again about these PIO injections. I know they hurt everyone and I am placing a call today to my nurse but just wanted to check with everyone here. I woke up this morning with a bright red swollen lump that's hot to touch on my left side. Both sides have been lumpy lately but not like this, it's visible. My husband massages the injection site at night almost like a knot I might have in a muscle to move the oil around. I use a little heat for a bit everyday as well. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. I'm struggling hard with these! I'm sure it's all normal but just checking in.
@Mewkie how did it go? I hope smooth as possible! Super sticky September!!! Fx
  • Options
@amynico Have you ever warmed up the filled syringe before injecting? I wrap the syringe in my heating pad for about a minute before my husband injects it and it feels like it goes in much easier and I've read it helps thin it out and get absorbed more quickly. That's my only advice. I'm so sorry it's been such a bad experience for you. I feel like the only person who doesn't have issues with PIO. I have a slight ache like I worked out too hard the next day but hardly any bruising and no big knots. My coworker who went through this 9 months ago had a bruised and lumpy butt so I assumed I'd have the same thing. Guess I'm just lucky :(

@amynico is it a new bottle? Sometimes they use different additives and it can cause a reaction. This happened to me last month but the nurse I spoke to said to just take benadeyl. I had an itchy rash for over a month. When I spoke to the doctor about it prior to the next FET he told me about the additives and said that I can return that bottle if it happens in the future.

I wish I would of spoke to him sooner. Call your RE office!

Happy Friday everyone! How's everyone feeling?

So I've had slight cramps & very light spotting. Back to work today but lower back is sore guessing it's the PIO shots.

@Cinnamonn I follow astrology and am so with you! In August my horoscopes said the two eclipses would allow me to move forward on what I have worked very hard for this whole year. We did our first cycle in Feb so we have been working on IVF all year. Around the first eclipse we had our retrieval and our best fertilization. The day of the big eclipse I got the call that we had 5 normal embryos so could finally do a FET. Fingers crossed that September will be just as great. Unfortunately since I'm transferring at the end of the month I'm more likely to have a Gemini. My husband is a Gemini so I know how difficult they can be sometimes. Haha!

@Mewkie Good Luck on your transfer!

@Hopeful_mom Yay for your estrogen finally getting on track! Nothing stopping you now!

@JaeJayStark Woohoo! Liking your beta numbers! Keep it up!

@amynico Sorry you are having a hard time with the PIO shots. I will be starting mine soon and I'm not looking forward to them. I do all my own shots but my husband will be doing them so I hope he does a good job with them.

AFM - Just moving along. I up my estrogen pills again tomorrow and then have my lining check on Monday. Crazy to think by then I will only be a week out. I looked at the spreadsheet and I'm the last on the list. Hoping I can close the month strong!

Thanks for the well wishes ladies.  I'm home now and transfer was fairly uneventful.  My doctor had a little trouble getting the catheter inserted but eventually was able to.  Our last embryo of the batch wasn't hatched yet (I guess which is why it was last) but right before transfer it started hatching in the incubator!  Was cool to see and hopefully a good sign.
@amynico hope your office got back to you about the PIO.  Sounds like what's happening with me!  Red/purplish welts with huge lumps underneath.  Benedryl cream had helped minimally.  I'm hoping it gets better with time.  Last nights shot doesn't seem to be as reactive.
@Medicallyblonde congratulations on your Beta!!  Awesome!

@Crystal321 @sarcasticowl @HottLemonade2886 @Medicallyblonde @Mewkie so glad everything went well. My office did get back to me and offered to switch the oil with a different but she said others had more of a reaction to it, so it kind of scared me. She told me to continue everything I'm doing. I got a sharpie this morning and mapped out my butt. I gave DH a much larger target. I'm hoping that will do the trick. I feel like such a weeny harping over these injections when everyone has to do it.
@Magallyta those are some pretty awesome signs!
@Medicallyblonde awesome number! So happy for you!

@sarcasticowl looks like your up next with the beta! Are you going to hpt? If so, when?

Hey @amynico, beta is next Thursday. Hubs said I should only commit to doing an HPT the day before if I'm going to do it at all. I'm dying to. I hope your new PIO is much better, and definitely try warming it up a bit in the syringe before having your husband give you the shot. :)

@Mewkie our embryo was nearly half hatched. It almost looked like it was splitting but it was just popping out of the little hole they make to help them escape. SO crazy. She just couldn't wait to be free from that shell. Hope it means she's a robust little thing and implants.

This board is getting more and more exciting with each day, as people get on with the transfers!

Also, the more I read about people's experience with PIO, the happier I feel about doing suppositories instead - hopefully they'll work just as good!

Today was my lining checkup. It's 8.5mm, and according to the clinic it's "textbook perfect" - yay! Estrogen is also nice and high at 362, so I'm given a green light for the transfer on Sept 20th.

I'm lowering my daily Estrace (orally) from 3 pills back to 2/day and starting on the Progesteron today. I'm also directed to take Medrol for 5 days starting tomorrow.

This is all getting so much more real! I haven't even had a transfer yet, but I'm already dreaming about HPTs and when I'll take my first one. My blasts are 6d, so technically I should be good to test on the 28th :) The Beta is on 30th, but who has the patience!

Let's continue with the September momentum of BFPs!

@Magallyta I am trying to take it easy but I'm antsy.  I don't have orders for bedrest but I'm trying my best to lay low.  You do have amazing willpower to not test!   Yikes!  I can't stop myself.
@FuzzyDust great news about your lining and estrogen.  You're on your way!
@amynico how's the bum?  Mine is soorrre but I'm getting used to it.  I can't wait for you to test tomorrow!!  You will use first mornings urine?  I can never sleep when I plan to do that but it's probably best this early.
@HottLemonade2886 good luck Monday with lining check.  You are almost there!
@Hopeful_mom in the home stretch!  1045 sounds like a great time to transfer!  So excited for you that it's almost time.
AFM I'm a mere 24 hours post transfer and dying to test.  Haha.  I have no patience.  No symptoms really.  Maybe slight cramping but I think I'm just looking for it.  TMI definitely some real cramping with a poop this morning.  I'm guessing progesterone is to blame for that?

@hopeful_mom the nurse gave me a good suggestion on warming the shot... stick the whole vial (not the needle of course, but the glass vial) under your boob in your bra. Just let it stay there for 30 minutes and you are golden

I have a question to all of you ladies.
How did you feel when you first started taking progesterone?

Last night was my first suppository, and this morning I was a crazy PMS-monster. Plus, I was physically shaking until getting some breakfast in me. I also took Medrol with food, and later on my stomach wasn't feeling that great (which is apparently a common side effect of each of the drugs I'm taking - Estrace, Progesterone, Medrol). I had an intense conversation with my husband (unrelated to baby business, we're in a middle of selling/buying a house, and it's generally intense time), and I just broke down crying. Usually, I'm quite able to compose myself and stay calm, but I couldn't this time - just full on bawling, way more intense than the situation called for.
This all very uncomfortable for me, because I usually don't have cycle on my own, so I don't have normal monthly hormones fluctuations. When I complained to the nurse about my estrogen bloating and mood wings (before even starting progesterone), she laughed and said - you mean the way most of women normally feel?  :D

@FuzzyDust I was on progesterone suppositories for a few years (3 tablets a day) and I am currently taking the shots instead. I never really had a reaction to it either way, but I do not really get hormonal at all.

Has anyone given in to the POAS monster and tested at 5dp5dt? I did this morning. BFN. I know it's early but I was hoping since our embryo was already hatching that I might see something by now. I sometimes wish HPTs didn't exist :(
