You guys were vicious today, I can't even go back and address all of that.
UO: Soda is bad. Not like unhealthy, not concerned about that. I don't drink it because I think it tastes bad. All soda tastes bad to me.
I have crazy sensitive sinuses and carbonated beverages burn and itch, and that throws off the taste of the actual drink. I've apparently thought this way since my first sip as a child.

I was never much of a soda drinker either. Now that you mention the sinuses aspect of it I had a physical reaction to reading that and remember that pain. I'd completely forgotten that was a thing! It's almost like getting chlorine in your nose...
@ladystinson puppymills are a whole other can of worms that can get me going on a tangent that will bring an unholy, ugly monster out of me. If I had a dollar for every coccidia positive puppy fecal I have done out of a puppymills or pet stores I would be rich. I have seen puppies so sick it's not even funny because the husbandry is so deplorable. It kills me!
@wishiwaspreggo I agree with you whole heartedly about breed research and kind of love you for it. Lol I have seen so many dogs in bad situations because people don't research the breeds. Sooo many rottweilers, sheperds, or huskies who are in homes who don't properly socialize or train them. My favorite is "I had one as a kid and it was such a great dog!" It's always an instant red flag. Lol
@ceridwen77 What I meant was that if your kids' behavior is bad enough to make you become dependent on alcohol, besides seeking professional help, maybe you should realize that their behavior is that way because of the way you parent. General you, of course, not you, specifically.
Let me first say that I don't drink and find drinking culture really annoying. But, I personally try really hard not to judge people based on the behavior of their children. Some children really are harder than other children, regardless of how they are parented. Raising multiple children sometimes makes me wonder if I have any impact on the way they are at all! Not to mention, some kids have disabilities and/or disorders that are no ones fault but make life WAY harder for everyone. And you can't always tell from looking. How do you know they aren't seeking professional help?
This discussion is part of the reason I don't have a dog and if I get one I would like a golden retriever. And I will pay for the training. I like cats more than dogs generally.
On the flip side UO: I think 1st birthday parties are unnecessary because they're for the parent. I'd rather save the money and just have the grandparents over for dinner or something.
I live in the southwest. The tacos I can get here are amazing. Taco Bell, Moes and Chipotle are just awful. I will miss this the most when we move again.

First birthdays here are a celebration for us parents. Like, high five, not only did the kid survive but so did we.

I could save all of this for FFFC but because I'm driving to Texas tomorrow I'll just set myself on fire for y'all now.
1. Give me all the wine. And beer. Occasional marg. But I don't get drunk. Because hangovers and parenting isn't fun. I have a glass that says Mommys Sippy Cup that was bought for me by my bestie. But I like to relax with a drink at the end of the night. But I also have a shirt that says "Motherhood is being someone's snack bitch" so that's just my sense of humor.
2. Target is my happy place. And now that Joanna Gaines is bringing in a home line there...my wallet is done.
3. Chipotle > Moes. But we don't have a chipotle here so thats
4. Every party is a Pinterest party to me. But so is my house. If you came in, you wouldn't know kids live here. But that relaxes me and I'm huge on DIY so I'm not spending $1k on parties.
5. I have a purebread white English lab. I also have a mutt thing that I got the day before I found out I was pregnant with my first. From petco while I was getting dog food. All made more sense then. I love my dogs even if they are a huge commitment and a pain in the rear.
6. Obviously I love LLR but I think it's unnecessary to rag on direct sales companies all day. We don't sit around and discuss our hate for Kohls or something. Maybe I'm just sensitive about it because it's literally how I feed my family. (ETA I know the clothes aren't for everyone. But a lot of us are moms just trying to do something for our families so we can stay home)
Okay so now that I'm on everyone's bad list:
My UO: I don't understand people who blame their kids for their messy house. Your 2 year old didn't leave all those dishes in there.
@yesthisiskim0401 - LOLing over your "this is where God gets his burritos" comment
@Poppy715 - you and MW would get along famously. She was a Pinterest Mom before Pinterest was even a thing and she's been a Disney Mom for at least a decade. And yes, I still describe her as a "mom" before she had kids because she always has snacks, chap stick, and tissues in her purse no matter what. DW also loves a clean house. And honestly, cleaning up after our animals is much, MUCH harder than cleaning up after the toddler. The animals shed, poop, pee, chew, scratch, and leave trails everywhere. The child, while he makes a clutter mess, doesn't make the house dirty. I think I spend 20-30 minutes cleaning up after the animals, 15-20 after ourselves, and 10-15 after the toddler. I hate cleaning, though, so I often take DS on an adventure while DW scrubs down the house. Everyone wins!
I live in the southwest. The tacos I can get here are amazing. Taco Bell, Moes and Chipotle are just awful. I will miss this the most when we move again.
Lol I am not a wine person, and I am not a perfect parent, but some of my BEST parenting days have lead to alcohol. Why? Because my best days were the days when I found it in myself to sit patiently while my kid threw fits to try to get what they want. When I got down to their level with a soft voice only to have them scream in my face. When I held my stuff together, knowing this kid just does not know how to deal with a bunch of emotions or because they are exhausted from a full day as they collapse on the floor crying.
Boundaries were tested, children were awful (in that moment) and I kept my cool while being firm with my lesson/discipline. Beer me!
That being said, I hear you. It is a thing now to just talk about drinking wine all the time. If it is being used as an every day coping mechanism for stress, that is not healthy.
As a former consultant pissed off over their new policy regarding returns, and basically the lack of ethics from Mark and Deanne, I completely fucking agree.
I totally get this. And I should explain more I guess. They're not for me. I can't wear them to work 90% of the time because I only have so many long shirts and they aren't thick enough to constitute pants on us bigger girls. I also do enough nature walks and hike with my boys that they're too thin for so my fall back is my thicker danskin yoga-type pants/capris. And personally- whether lularoe, fabletics, danskin, it doesn't matter- I am not big on the busy patterns. Some are really cute, but the majority are just to loud for me.
Now, with that being said, I am all for supporting friends who sell it. I am part of a LuLaRoe group that my friend from high school runs. She's a SAHM of 3 girls age 2-7. Do I buy from the page? no. But anyone that I know who is looking for leggings or is interested in even asking questions, I send her way because she runs a great business and I know she's doing it for her family (as well as supporting her own LLR addiction lol)
So when I say I hate LLR, I mean the actual leggings, not the company itself and certainly not those who are using it to support their families

@ladystinson Have you tried any of the shirts or skirts? I like the solid leggings and have three or four pairs and only two with a pattern. I don't like the loud obnoxious patterns either. I like the solid shirts too. I only have two with a pattern and they are subtle. So I can understand those reasons for sure. But leggings are only one thing they offer.
@sparkymcgeee I have. The solid black leggings are really comfy but too expensive and hard to come by to have very many. And the shirts are too clingy. I have too many lumps and bumps lol I dont want to have to wear spanx under something so relaxed
edit to add: I only wear skirt on special occasions. if my thighs touched anymore I'd be a legit mermaid lol so no skirts are comfortable to me. I also used to be a zoo keeper and a park naturalist, then I was a chef for a while, none of those really lend themselves to skirt so I've always just been more comfortable in pants

@mileswithmyles haha I hate baseball and don't care who knows it!
@gildah yes! I am so perplexed by the idea of being antivax. Yes, please give me the vaccines!
@lincbeesmom agreed! I knew someone who only cared about bringing children into this world and she was very open about how she felt that was her sole purpose in life. Needless to say she had 6 kids in less than 5 years....
@sandbar517 yes, thank you! Sorry, but just because you have a human you take care of, it doesn't automatically make you a good mom who is "doing her best"....you could do better.
@Ceridwen21 agreed! that was my UO last week...I have so many words for how I feel about "gender" reveal parties.
My UO: I despise this whole "gofundme culture" of people asking for money via social media. There are very few that I find actually legit (such as illness or death in the family). People need to learn the difference between actual unforeseen circumstances and just being bad at budgeting your life. Asking people to "sponsor" your daughters competitive dance team fees, or pay for you to fly your dog for your cross country move but then take a trip to Italy with your boyfriend a month later....
@kpc914 I only donate to serious misfortunes like illness, death (specifically seriously tragic and unexpected), and I've considered loss of property because of natural disasters. Everything else just because you don't want to work for it or you manage your money terribly is not my responsibility.
@ladystinson TOTALLY understand that!! Like I said, it's absolutely not for everyone but I love that you support her on her page! Some of my biggest Supporters have never bought a thing from me. I don't care how much money someone spends. I care if they pop in to say hi on a live or comment or something. That makes a big difference!!
@sparkymcgeee I went to high school with a girl who uses a gofundme for everything. Flight to a friends? Gofundme. Dental work? Gofundme
but what takes the cake for me. My ex husband and his then fiancée who he had known for 2 months had a gofundme for their wedding (not even honeymoon. The actual wedding) BEFORE PAPERS WERE DRAWN. I laughed for weeks over that.
My OU: I can't stand product parties. Someone just invited me to their purse party, and on the invite it said to bring a snack or drink to share, and I got more annoyed by it than I should have. I feel like if I'm going to your party where someone is selling something so that you can get free stuff, the least you can do is feed me.
Also, I don't wedding and baby showers. I think all of those games are dumb.
@yesthisiskim0401 as I current consultant, I 100% agree with you. I didn't even see the new policy until you posted. That is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
My UO: I hate the phrase "living her best life". Where the hell did that come from? I see it everywhere now and I can't stand it!
I can't stand direct sales. I hate being invited to in person or online product parties. I don't want your jewelry, leggings, books, tastefully over expensive, or wraps that really don't work. I hate the pushiness and the guilt built into the whole pyramid scheme. And I really don't want to be a consultant for any of it, so don't ask. I've had to block several friends on Facebook because all they do is market their sales crap. That's not what I friended you for so make it stop! And I kid you not, as I was typing this I got a Facebook message for an invite to one friend/colleague's jewelry business sales event.
I love my rescue pup. She is the smartest kindest dog I've ever known and she adores my daughter. Breeder dogs can be amazing too, but I'd never spend that money on a breeder dog when so many good rescue pups need a home.
Qdoba> Chipotle or Moe's
I love good craft beer, wine, and cider. I drink a glass a few nights a week when I'm not prego because I love the taste. I told DH I wish they made good truly NA beer because I love the flavors. I would so go for a coffee stout right about now. I don't drink because of my child.
@yesthisiskim0401 as I current consultant, I 100% agree with you. I didn't even see the new policy until you posted. That is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
I don't know any consultant that is happy with it. It makes me so worried for all my current consultant friends and old downline. So many feel so insecure knowing they can change the rules without notice or care. The whole "blessing women's lives" tag line doesn't exactly work when you do this to people who have been in the process for over 4 weeks and had to click buttons and send emails saying they agree to the 100% buy back policy.
I wish you the the best with this company. I truly do. My hate for the company is more geared towards the high up people.
@yesthisiskim0401 my sponsor's husband just got assigned overseas so she has to leave and I've been stressing out about that with her. I love love love what I do for my customers but I was pissed when that all came out. No one is happy with it.
I don't think twice about vaccinating my kids. I'm sort of crunchy when it comes to birth and I'll try herbal remedies and stuff, but seriously, I'm so thankful that modern medicine has wiped out so many childhood illnesses in this country
i can only pray that this is not an UO on this board
UO: while I understand on the main boards why people might get annoyed by drive by posters creating a topic that has already been discussed, frequently multiple, even ridiculous amounts of times, it doesn't bother me in the least to see it on a month board where things move a bit slower and the chances of rehashing things ad nauseam are lower.
We don't have to open or respond every thread that is posted, if you don't want to contribute, leave it to others that don't mind repeating themselves or contributing to a new conversation. if no one wants to then that's the original poster's problem.

I feel like since there was no argument that no one disagrees. I have no qualms telling people I will not allow them to see my new baby if they are anti-vax. It is not my job to make you feel better and reward you for your terrible and selfish life choices that affect so many more people than just yourself.
