WTF Wednesday

Mine is aimed at my car.  I really hate you!  You aren't even that old and you have so many problems.  I will never buy another Chevy again.  I am a Toyota girl, so guess this is what I get for buying another brand!

  • @peppersmith22 Wow sounds like it lasted a while at least!  Ours is only at 85k miles and having issues.
  • @sparklingdiamond I hate Chevy never again will I own one.

my WTF is my lazy co-worker.  I get that not everyone will have a strong passion for their work if it's not their dream job.  But seriously don't take something that others have worked so hard on and don't give a crap if you are doing it right or not.

  • @sparklingdiamond Yeah we are lucky! Jettas seem to last a really long time. That stinks that yours is only at 85K and having issues already.
  • My wtf is to myself... I have a professional exam.coming up and I need to get my butt in gear and get it together... it's crunch time and I just want to go to bed early and just get through work. I cannot fail again, this exam is getting sickening!
  • We bought it used from Carmax a couple years ago and it's a 2012.  It somehow loses oil super quickly even though there is not a leak.  Which must mean it's just burning it way faster than it should.  And now I am having some kind of weird transmission issue, but no one can figure out what's causing it.
  • Wtf cold...why are you still here? I am so over this.

@sparklingdiamond that sucks so much. I'm also a toyota girl. We actually just bought a certified pre-owned highlander a month ago. I loooove it!

  • @kmalls My husband drives a Silverado too and he loves it! Prior to the Silverado he had a Colorado that ran great too, we only upgraded to get a truck that could fit a car seat. DH is sold on Chevys.

I was a Subaru girl for the longest time, but I found a great deal on a Ford Escape earlier this year, and I freaking love that car.

My WTF goes to the ultrasound thread. I generally avoid it, but I scrolled through it just now to clear out the new posts notification. Holy randos! Our board is practically dead 80% of the time, and yet there are 458538 one-off posters that AWd their ultrasound. What gives, people?
Really though - come out and play! I need more material to procrastinate with
  • @beach_mama  Ahh a Highlander is like my dream car right now!  I am hoping that after we pay off this loan we are working on paying down, that we can trade the Chevy in for a Highlander.  I just really like not having a car payment!
  • @kmalls - totally agree. I didn't even post my US b/c no offense to my baby, but it's little dot shape isn't really post worthy IMO. Now the anatomy scan, I'll post the SHIT out of that. We need people to post, it is what builds the community. JOIN US LADIES!

WTF self - I lost my phone for 3 hours today at work. I eventually had to leave for a meeting and then come back to do a full scale search party. Found it, in the cabinet where the coffee cups go. WHOOPS. Sadly I missed a call from my niece's school saying the gal supposed to get her was late. Luckily, she was picked up shortly after the missed call, but tots dropped the ball on that :|.

I'm cringing at the Chevy hate up in here! We've had two Traverse's in a row and looooove them! Sorry for all the bad experiences! ETA: and my husband drives a Chevy Silverado, lol. Forgot about that.

I KNOW. I was thinking about starting weekly bear GIF call outs on that thread. So all the randos from that week get tagged and called out all at once. There are too many of them to do individually but I did try to nicely suggest to one poster that they intro and participate on other threads. I don't want to be "TB bully" or anything but seriously, come on people! We could try adding a sentence at the top of the thread that says it's for contributing members but I'm sure that will be ignored like everything else.
  • I seriously can't even make this up... I just posted on another thread that I am waiting for someone at work to call me out and ask if I am KU and it basically happened 5 minuets later. I was in the break room getting tea and I casually said to my co-worker "man I'm so tired I totally crashed after lunch" and she goes "ut-oh your not pregnant are you?"   s Since when does being tired automatically mean pregnant?! My blump is totally giving me away...
  • @ngolimento Haha I'm down for that idea.
  • @ngolimento I love it!  Especially if it's called bag o beans.
  • I was all gung ho on the preggie pops until I got to the unfortunate flavors. WTF if I am nauseous and reaching for a sucker to help me lavender, ginger, spearmint, and peppermint are the last things that sound good. Traded them in for the never disappointing jolly ranchers.
  • @thisgirlagain  I ordered a 3box pack from amazon.  And ew...I should've just gotten the ones that only have the 3 good flavors!  I pulled one out thinking it was the Sour Raspberry and it was definitely Lavender.  I hate spearmint flavor, and the other ones sound like my stomach doesn't want them, lol.  Jolly ranchers is a good idea!

  • I announced to my bosses on Monday and the news is trickling out to the rest of the office now. I felt like I had to announce (earlier than I would have liked) because it was getting harder and harder to hide the blump and I didn't want to strain relationships by making coworkes feel like I was keeping a secret from them. Since people have started finding out, three of them have told me they've "known for awhile". Dude, I've barely known for "awhile". Couldn't they at least pretend to be surprised?

  • @psuxray07 Did you try the ginger ones? It has like a weird burning thing going on. I started gagging and tossed it. I don't plan to attempt the others.
  • @kaymaroo i know just how you feel and it sucks! I told my boss on Friday and all I did was close her door and start to walk in and she jumped out of her chair and said "I already know!!" And gave me a big hug. I mean it was nice she was so happy, but come on. At least let me get the words out!!
  • @thisgirlagain  No I couldn't bring myself to try it...it just sounded like such a gross flavor, lol.  I'm not adventurous!

  • @Puddlewonderful It's so awkward, isn't it? Like what are you supposed to say to that..."Yep, stomach's really bulging out there, huh?"

UGH. What a pain, @sparklingdiamond! I hope it was a one off and doesn't happen again.

  • WTF Principal, why did you tell the Assistant Principal? She is the most gossipy woman ever.

WTF AP, you don't get to tell me I'm having a big baby because I'm big already. I am barely pregnant and the baby is jack sized. I'm bloated and wearing baggy clothes. You don't know what my belly looks like.
  • @sparklingdiamond Once every long while our lab/pitt mix will eat part of our wall. It's like a once a year thing. I don't know why she gets a hankering for drywall but whatever.

@thisgirlagain lavendar???? who would ever think that's a good flavor?
  • @sparklingdiamond holy crap! I'm surprised there's no blood!
  • WTF another one for coworkers not pulling their own. No it's not okay that you want to leave early again and not do your bus duties and make others cover for you. No you shouldn't think you get a pass on other responsibilities because you're to busy.
  • I was surprised too!  I really hope he didn't eat any of it. I will already have a repair bill, I don't need a vet bill on top of that. This is making me so stressed for vacation in a week and a half. Now I'm stressed about spending the money because we had so many expenses come up lately ugh.

  • This study is a major WTF. I am in no way anti-vaccines - all my children are fully vaccinated as am I - but I guess I may wait until after first tri to get a flu shot:

Interesting...Work requires me to get a flu shot or get a waiver due to working in health care. Glad they don't enforce it for a few more weeks.

  • I saw that report about the flu vaccine during pregnancy and when I read this, it seemed like a stretch to conclude that getting the flu vaccine two years in a row would cause miscarriage:

"They found 17 of 485 miscarriages they studied involved women whose vaccinations followed that pattern. Just four of a comparable 485 healthy pregnancies involved women who were vaccinated that way.

The first group also had more women who were at higher risk for miscarriage, like older moms and smokers and those with diabetes. The researchers tried to make statistical adjustments to level out some of those differences but some researchers don't think they completely succeeded."

I plan to ask my doctor about it, but I'm not concerned about getting a flu vaccine this year.
