If it's your first, I would wait. I got a few pairs of pants with my first but didn't need much tops. Most of my Pre pregnancy tops fit until like 8 months in.
I got lucky with my first: I got by with leggings and the hair-band trick for my old pants/shorts plus one pair of maternity jeans. I got a lot of tops used for dirty cheap at resale stores.
I have an incredibly important, life altering question: does anyone from Texas know of a service that delivers whataburger? Because mamma is stuck at work and needs some onion rings stat.
Edit: I opened the edit to change "dirty cheap" to "dirt cheap" then realized the typo was more entertaining so left it.

@fishsticks-n-custard DoorDash delivers it to lots of locations in Houston area. Have you tried that one? And thanks: now I really want some Whataburger.

@allowachick We have a store here called "Once Upon a Child". I think it's a chain but not sure how wide spread it is. It carries used children/baby stuff but also has a small maternity section. I also ordered from a website, but I think they may have changed their name. thredup.com looks to have a similar set up though.
My mom is also a big salvation army and goodwill shopper. She found me a few tops too.

Anyone who wants cheap maternity clothes should hit up Old Navy. I'm always basically their walking advert when I am KU. It's a good price, and they cut the shirts long, which is life-saving for me since I have a long torso to begin with.
In terms of buying cheap maternity clothes, you can always search "maternity lot (your size)" on eBay. It's just lots of women trying to get rid of their maternity stuff and make a little money off of it. But I really love eBay: it feels to me like online thrift store shopping and as long as the seller has plenty of good reviews, I feel comfortable buying from them.

@allowachick Our Old Navy used to carry maternity in stores, but when I went back to look recently, they said they only carried it online now. I don't know if that's everywhere or just around here.

FTM question--I was told by my u/s tech last week that I have a tilted uterus. She was nonchalant about it and said it wasn't a big deal but it might be more difficult to find the heartbeat from the outside. Any of you have this issue too? Did it cause any problems at any point?

I have one too and I don't remember it ever causing a problem.

I assume she meant a retroverted uterus, in which case, I also have one. Didn't cause any problems last pregnancy.

I bought some things at Old Navy and I agree they are great and cheap!! Definitely look for the 40% off sales. If I see one, I'll post it. The side panel pixie is great for work. Unfortunately, most of my old tops don't really fit I was just interested in Stitch Fix as a treat really - didn't know if anyone else had used them before.
I agree with @danjoly I had a limited selection of maternity shirts, I mainly bought a set of shirts that were one size bigger than I would wear or tunic shirts that were long enough to cover the bump. I needed the pants but had trouble with jeans; they never fit me right.
If you're shopping online at Old Navy you can also keep an eye out for sales at the Gap, since the websites are linked you use the combined cart total for your free shipping minimum. Normally Gap would be way out of my price range, but I got a few things on clearance, like 70% off. Also, I have gotten some stuff off Zulily - while the price is right, the quality can be a bit dicey.

@mcg920 around 16 weeks when you uterus will expand its gonna "flip" in the right position so it's not gonna cause any problems. It's a little harder to get a heartbeat with an outside Doppler until then because your ute is deeper into your pelvic. a well trained OB will find the heartbeat anyways. Don't freak out if it takes a little longer!
@g_amoss I need new bras SO bad. I'm 11 weeks but really a few weeks overdue for maternity bras - I'm basically spending my life stuffing my boobs back into my bra cups, or trying to get away with wearing the one super comfy sports bra I have! Will probably be my mission this week to find one I can wear now and hopefully keep for "4th" tri. Gonna start at Target first because.... Target.
@mcg920 I also have a retroverted uterus so I was expecting to be disappointed at my 8 week and not be able to hear the heartbeat... took a while to find it but we did!!! I guess once your uterus pops out of your pelvic cavity (so technical rn) it tilts up to a regular position, and might even settle to an upright position post-partum. My doc said there's nothing wrong and it's just a random thing, like being left handed vs right.
@hedgepig I actually bought a pair of maternity jeans on zulilly and they were cute but they really don't fit. They are tight in the legs but somehow keep sliding down. I hope its just the brand and not a function of all maternity pants.

This is how it is in my state too. I was totally bummed. I really like Target's maternity section.
Hey guys, just floating an idea, and let me know if this is already active, but my last BMB had a "Deals and Sales" Thread that people would update. Have we done this already or are you guys interested in starting one?
Me: 35, Hubbie: 33 Married DH: 2013 DD: Dec 2015 BFP 8/14/17 --> Due 4/27/2018
@fishsticks-n-custard I like that idea too! There's a "PSA: warnings, recalls, etc" thread that I thought could also include deals and sales, but I'm also fine with it being a separate thread. I say go for it!

So I'm planning to tell my bosses at work this week. Thoughts on whether to tell HR first, or boss first? Does it matter? I don't anticipate any crazy legal issues or problems but wondering if it's smarter to do one or the other first. I'll never get them all in the same room together so all at once is out.
Follow-up question, am I way over-thinking this? Gonna go with probs.
@frenchiekinplusone i'm planning to tell my boss first around 12 weeks. Mostly because I don't know what I really need to do HR wise and i'm hoping he can help me navigate.
@allowachick@ekendall09 thanks!! I was thinking HR first would be the thing to do but wasn't sure. My bosses would have no clue what to do HR wise (they are clueless) so unfortunately won't be relying on them for that!
