I know we're all way too early to know what we're having and lots of us are still super paranoid and nervous. However, I also know that for most women we think about names before the lines appear.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it?
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with?
What style of names do you like?
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind?

This is really just for fun and to take our minds off the first tri worries and awfulness. Also I can't guarantee this will be flame free.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? Chloe. I just love it! DH doesn't.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? We've had baby names down for years. Since this is most likely our last, it will be hard to chose one of our top names, knowing we won't ever use the others. We usually keep the name under wraps until birth.
What style of names do you like? I don't think we have a style, just normal names. We do have a thing for A names for girls.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? DD1 is Aubrey, DD2 is Ansley. If this baby is a girl, her name will also start with an A and end with a Y.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? Mary and George or Jonah. My family flamed me pretty hard when I wanted to name my daughter Elizabeth. They thought it was too old fashioned. So can you imagine what they would say about a Mary or George? It would never end. But really, Elizabeth was my ultimate dream name and I have a beautiful six year old with the name so I win. I can't use Jonah because it rhymes with our last name. I don't do that to people I love.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? Elinor is pretty set if it's a girl. Boy is still up in the air but I like Peter, Lukas (Finnish spelling), and Michael.
What style of names do you like? I like classic names and bible names. Obvi. There is just something timeless about it and no one is going to give you the side-eye if your name is something classic. Freakonomics people.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? Elizabeth and Isaac. It just kind of worked out that our children both have names starting in a vowel. If we have another girl the trend will continue. I don't know if we will break the trend by having a boy but probably.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? My top girl name has always been Hadley. I BEGGED my husband to let me use it but he's a jerk and makes fun of all the times I love (maybe I'm a little sensitive).
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? Realistically? Whatever my husband and I can semi agree on. He doesn't like names out of the top 10 and I don't do common names (my first name is Sarah like everyone else in the 90s). We've pretty much settled on Ford for a middle name for a boy because my grandfather was Clayford so that's at least progress.
What style of names do you like? classic names that aren't common and family names. And apparently everything that my husband hates.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? DD is Caroline Rae.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? I don't really have one single name I love for both genders. I like M names for girls and D names for boys. Most of the names I love DH hates so I probably won't use anything I love.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? DH loves to run the show with names and strikes down everything I suggest but we did find some common ground on Nova for a girl.
What style of names do you like? I love unique but not completely out there names. Names you don't hear every day but not something made up.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? No current children but when I was little I had two little twin dolls and I called them Benny and Jenny. That's my silly story for the day.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? I always liked Cody for a boy, but that is DH's name. His mom's side of the family is Jewish and it's bad luck to name someone after a living relative, so we won't use it.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? I have no idea what we will name this baby if it is a boy. We had such a hard time finding a boy name for DS. When I was in the classroom I had mostly male students and it was hard to find a name that didn't evoke some type of reaction. Now DH is a teacher, too, so naming this time around will be interesting. I like Sadie for a girl.
What style of names do you like? With DS, I wanted a name that wasn't too common, but not too uncommon either. But in his small preschool class, he already has a classmate with the same name and spelling.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? DS is Myles Robert. I don't have a sibling set in mind.

My nephew is a Miles. I also have a friends with a Miles. It's interesting that it's grown in popularity so much in the last few years.
Although I didn't realize how popular Isaac was but there are a lot of little boys with the name.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? I love the name Hazel for a girl and Cullen for a boy. My DH despises then both so we found others that we could agree on. We both love Booker but it rhymes with our last name so we probably won't use it.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? We've settled on Emery for a girl and Finn for a boy.
What style of names do you like? I like names that are unique. We have a very common last name and very common first names so we run into people with our same name all the time.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? No sibset here. Cason is our first.

Willow Elizabeth (it would make her initials wet)
Rowan Elizabeth (SO hates Rowan)
Andrew Raymond (my ex's first name was Andrew. I already wish I'd never dated him, and now that name is ruined)
Christian Liam (We're not Christian, and SO thinks it's too ironic, and he has a cousin he hates named Liam)

2. Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with?

We're leaning towards Lily or Lillian Elizabeth for a girl, and Jameson Matthew for a boy.

3. What style of names do you like?

I like classical names that are unique. (Not that Lily is a good example of that) I guess for girls I'm more a fan of "plant" names... I won't choose a biblical name for a child though. (Pagan)

4. If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind?

Jackson Allen T
I guess Jameson Matthew would kind of play into that? They'd both be named after their dad then.

@jbeckley120 Please consider the spellings of your choices. Some of your choices are so great. Bryceson is less so. Bryce is fine and Bryson is a more common spelling while still being an uncommon name.

Penelope/poppy a friend snatched that name up first.
Clementine- same friend named her third child this. Bitch is taking all my favorite names.

I will preface with the fact that I'm a teacher and cannot fathom naming my child a name of a student I've had. And I'm the art teacher so I see A LOT of kids. Here's the list I've been compilating on my phone for years.

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? I love Silas and my husband doesn't. I also love Thea for a girl but it sounds AWFUL with our last name.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? We've agreed somehow on Della Josie for a girl and Dax Joseph for a boy.
What style of names do you like? Clearly ones that aren't common... lol. Working in an elementary school I really want one that's not going to get ruined for me by a kiddo that acts less than angelic or choose one that they will share with three classmates.

We wouldn't use either because of the rise in popularity recently. I haven't considered boy names yet, we had a difficult enough time figuring our DS's name last time around.

I love Penelope witht he nickname Poppy (you have great taste @justsuzie ) but we have a three syllable last name that begins with "Pop" and ends with a long E sound, so it sounds ridiculous. I also love Philipa/Pippa and William but I have a Kate (Catherine), so I can't use any of those. I can't use one of my other favorites, Henry, either because she's named after Catherine of Aragon, first wife of Henry the VIII.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? For a girl, we are liking Miriam, Rosalie, and Iris, with Éponine as a middle name because I played the character and fell in love with the story of redeeming love and IDGAF who side eyes it. For a boy we love Leo and Gabriel with the middle name Constantine.
What style of names do you like? I love older names, especially if they are "strong names", and have a historical background. I am a self proclaimed name snob and an etymology freak, and pay close attention to name meaning. Even if I love a name, I won't use it if I don't like the meaning.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? Catherine Victoria and Andrew Richard. We also have a baby in heaven who we strongly felt was a girl, so we named her Natalia Ann-Marie.

1. If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? I have a list a mile long of names that are too weird for DH, like: Hawthorne, Tiberius, Achilles, Draco, Ariel, Valentine, Octavia, etc. Sigh.
2. Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? Before our first was born we agreed on Penelope for a girl and Theodore for a boy, but by the time she came out we changed our minds! Those are probably still on the list.
3. What style of names do you like? Pretty uncommon but clearly not made up and definitely spelled correctly. Any time I hear a name I like, I check on the social security birth record and if
it is in the top 100 it's auto an veto.
4. If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? I have a Cecilia and a Matilda. I like constants for girls and vowels for boys.

DS1 is Gabriel and I still adore the name ( and the shortened version Gabe.) we also love the name Henry for a boy. We have 2 boys already so have made our short lists before!

For a girl I love the name Nia. It's Welsh and means Brightness. DH wasn't so keen at first but has warmed up to it ( I've been working on him since our first pregnancy lol) For middle names we always use family names and I really want to use my mams: Rhianon. So if we have a girl she will be Nia Rhianon Elysabeth.

Wehave used a lot of family names with DS1 and DS2 so if we have another boy I'm not sure what we'll go for. I also love Rafael for a boy but we already have a Rafi in the family.

I looove the name Benjamin for a boy, but my oldest sister has had dibs on that name for a baby for years now. I love the name Grace but that was my Grandpa's girlfriend's name and nobody in the family liked her haha.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? For a girl, we'll most likely name her Joanna. That was my aunts name who passed away from cancer a few years ago, and she was my favorite person in the world. I also like Mia Jayne. For a boy, I like Lucas, Henry, and Thomas but DH isn't sold on anything yet. I can't think of a middle name to go with any of those.
What style of names do you like? I like strong classic names for boys. I like fairly simple names, nothing too crazy or out there. We have a long, horrible to pronounce last name so I'm trying to give my kids a break with easy first names haha.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? I have one DS, Ryan James. I don't plan on any sibsets.

@Cerisrichard I love the name Nia! I worked in daycare in high school and there was a little girl named Nia and she was the most adorable well-behaved child I've ever met, so I think that makes me like the name even more haha.

@Cerisrichard I just had to look and see where you're from with those name choices. Love them, but I was like "those are decidedly British type names" and yep! Rhiannon is also one of my favorite names, but it sounds too much like Rihanna for my SO.

For as long as I can remember I've loved the named Micah for a boy. Then a friend went and started dating a Micah (still is) and he's a huge douche- canoe and now that name is ruined for me.
Our daughters name is Stella.
No ideas on what we'll come up with for 2.0.

Crazy enough I haven't thought about t at all yet. I think it's bc last time we had a list of names before we were even pregnant and I hated them all by the time I was 4 months.

One thing I do know is that we aren't sharing names with anyone this time. Too many opinions of people who's opinions don't matter.

We go pretty traditional with names. I hope this one is a girl, if so I'm going to lobby hard for Morgan. IDK about boy, we've already fought through twice to name two boys, a third would be tough!

If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? Dorothy for a girl, after a dear friend of my grandmother. However, it SO. doesn't work with our son's name (Theodore), as it's basically the same name.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? I love Mabel for a girl, and possibly Bearett for a boy, but not sure on that. We had such a hard time choosing a boy name last time.
What style of names do you like? Generally classic, old - fashioned names. Nothing in the top 100 if possible.
