I know all of us on the IF journey are strong women, but days like these make me think I am just not strong enough to keep going. I know I have to take some time, and talk to my clinic tomorrow, but part of me really just wants to take that money and move to an island for a year or something. I knew there risks with fresh donor, but never thought this would happen at this point. I'm honestly getting to the point where anything fertility related gives me serious anxiety... I guess there is nothing to do but to take some time and figure out what next...

@businesswife- you are definitely the meme queen and those are some good ones for today. I wish I could meditate but I have tried a few times and just can't shut off my mind ever. After every piece of bad news (and there has been alot of the past 1.5 years of IUI, IVFs, and delays), I have yet to find anything that helps me get through the greiving process. I just have to sit on the couch and cry it out until I feel better and come up with the next plan. I just really really thought I was 3 weeks away from being PUPO finally, so this is just hitting me SO hard. The extra slap in the face is now I am supposed to go to the pharmacy and pick up birth control tonight. Not to mention that $200 of lupron we have now wasted and probably $800 on legal fees.. I need some good news so really hoping that good news is a great embryo update for you tomorrow

Oh @JamieH2000 I don't have any words. I am so so so sorry. What an awful situation. Surely, she has to be responsible for some of those fees or something, right? I really hope you're able to talk to your clinic today and get some answers and/or next steps. We are here for you!!
@20T- thanks girl. I wish she was responsible, but we are actually responsible for BOTH of our legal fees.. so I guess that is the risk we took in this. You need to start our group off with the first FET and BFP!
Both my RE and the program director called today and that helped. My RE says the whole team is here for me, cheering for me, and that she won't give up until we get this to work. The program director took the list of donors we had come up with and gave us some stats and availability info, as well as a few suggestions. I just got to go through it with the DH tonight. I think we are really going to focus on proven donors, even if it means less of a physical match. They aren't going to look just like me anyways, so I would rather have higher odds at this point. I can't take any more heartbreak. I worked from home today and will again tomorrow. I still just cry randomly, but hoping I will be able to get off the couch by Monday and go back to work. I hardly slept last night, so its time to pull out the nyquil i guess.

AFM: My donor is scheduled for her medical screening on 9/22 which is exciting. The nurse told me I can anticipate the cycle starting in early Nov which is what we were hoping for. The scary news is that when she was going through my paperwork she couldn't find my insurance authorization so someone may have dropped the ball there. She promised she would follow up with the financial coordinator right away so hopefully that is squared away soon.
Also, I had to call again to get this information and only then did they contact my donor to schedule the screening. Apparently, they were waiting on me to pay for the screening and I was waiting on someone from the finance dept to contact me about the specific amount. I got impatient and called today to follow up and then everything fell into place. If I wasn't so organized and willing to constantly be checking in would anything ever move forward?

@laurad75- gosh that is frustrating that you have to manage this whole process yourself so far! Hopefully once she is medically cleared and it really gets going you will get more managemnt from your clinic. Good for you for staying on top of everything! @laurad75 yay for your donor's screening appointment but how annoying to have to ride your clinic that way! Maybe have a chat with a nurse about it?
AFM, I had my baseline this morning. I have a cyst (of course) but was told that it didn't really matter as long as it wasn't producing estrogen. I knew it was there because I could feel it and because this always happens on BC. I start Lupron tonight and my nurse said that should take care of it. I go back next Friday to see if we're ready to start patches and estrace!
@20t- cysts are sooo annoying! I wonder why it would be a problem even if it was producing estrogen since for an FET, they want your ovaries quiet and just give you estrogen to build the lining. Estrogen producing cysts are definitely a problem if you want to stim since estrogen suppresses FSH, but that would be ok for you right now. Maybe they are worried you would somehow ovulate the cyst or something during the FET cycle. Lots of prayers that the lurpon takes care of it!!
AFM, we did select another donor based on all the info the clinic sent us yesterday. It isn't as close as a match physically, but she has donated 3 times before (once with amazing results at our clinic with 7 PGS embryos!). Our clinic said she is great to work with, so now they are just calling her today to confirm her availability even tho they just talked with her 2 weeks ago. This is thing has just brought up the greiving of not being able to use my eggs, since that is still what we (and anyone) would really want, but hopefully in the plan of our life, this next donor is the one meant for us. Hopefully we are only delayed 1 or 2 months, and i will be able to cycle with the rest of you lovely ladies

I heard back from my clinic and they were able to talk to the donor today. They explained my journey and it sounds like she is very excited and committed to donate again! Now my RE just has to officially sign off (which hopefully shouldn't be an issue given her last cycle results at my clinic). Then next week we have to pay a little more $$ and sign a contract to retain her, and then start all the legal and calendar stuff all over again. I guess at least this time I will know what to expect, and since this is her 4th cycle, hopefully she will be quick with her legal too. I would like to say I am excited, but also still feeling pretty jaded still haha. Hopefully time will get me back to the excited/hopeful camp.

AFM, i transferred my last two frozen embryos with a BFN. I had my donor consultation and am moving forward. I've chosen a donor and am waiting to hear back from my insurance about which portion they will cover. I'm hoping I'll be ready to transfer by November. It seems like a long time away but I know the time will pass fast and then finally maybe I'll have a shot.

@radmom27. I'm so sorry. (((Hugs))) I think you're right tho, November will be here before you know it... ;) I think I may end up looking at November transfer afterall, too.
@radmom27- so sorry to hear about your BFN. Hopefully donor eggs will give you the success you have been waiting for so long for. It's not an easy choice, but at some point, I think all of us on this board are just ready to be moms and be happy and put all this dissapointment behind us. Are you doing fresh? I really hope everything goes smoothly and quickly for you over the next few months! Please keep us posted. I'm thinking oct/nov are gonna be good months for all of us!

Hey Ladies- wanted to share our update. We are officially matched with a new donor! Really anxious to get our new calendar (next week hopefully) and get through the legal stuff. Hoping this hiccup only cost us a month and a can at least get started on the lupron in a couple of weeks.

I had a bit of a scare this morning when I went in for my U/S, as my cyst is still there after a week of Lupron. They said it would all come down to whether it was producing estrogen, and if it was it was going to have to delay us. They wanted my E2 levels to be < 60 and they came back at 11 so I slapped on a patch and we're still moving forward!
@radmom27- YAY for insurance approval and getting going! Remind me- did you choose fresh or frozen? Hoping for no delays for you, and I really think we could be cycle buddies
@20T- cysts are so annoying, but soo happy yours wasn't producing estrogen! Yay for starting patches! You are gonna be the one to start our next few months of transfers off with a BFP, I know it

@JamieH2000 I hope we are cycle buddies!! I'm going with a fresh donor but will likely freeze and PGS test and then transfer. My clinic will sync me to be ready about 10 days after donor retrieval so I will have the PGS testing back and can transfer. Are you doing fresh or frozen?

@radmom27- We are doing fresh again, though we had a bad experience with the first fresh donor. For us, its worth it to potentially get more embryos and possibly be able to have two children. Our first donor had got 6 blasts, and now our second donor just had a cycle at our clinic where she got 10 blasts (7 PGS normal), so really hoping we can repeat those results. We won't be doing PGS, as our clinic does't generally reco it for donors and I have my skepticism of it (see the article I just posted in a new discussion). Have you got your donor confirmed and legal done yet? We plan to exchange names/emails again, if this donor is willing to.

Well I got my calendar, and its not that far away, but I am sick of waiting, so of course it feels far away. Start lupron on 10/1, baseline on 10/9 and then estimated transfer between 10/29-11/2. Its only 6 weeks... but after waiting 2 months for the donor, and then another two months for her schedule to work, 6 weeks just feels like a longggg time. I'm sure I'll feel like its closer once I start lupron and its October. kinda sad to keep wishing away the months like this....

@JamieH2000 I've picked a donor and she is screened and ready to go. We both have phone meetings with the clinic this week to sync cycles and finalize details including legal things. I'm really conflicted about PGS testing too. When I used my own eggs, I never felt it was worth the financial benefit since I had so few make it to day 5. My donor had 13 embryos in her previous cycle (I think 10 PGS normal) so for us, it's really just to hopefully narrow down the choices and transfer the ones with the best shot. Still sort of on the fence about it though... The waiting is really rough. I totally understand how you feel about the wishing the time away. I try not to let myself do it but with infertility, it's so hard. Everything is about the next period or the next two week wait.

@radmom27- soo exciting that you have your donor and it sounds like soon you will have your calendar and timing too! I hear you about being torn on PGS too. I reallyyyy don't want to go through another failure or worse, a M/C. I guess given the cost and the time delay and since my clinic doesn't recommend it, we won't be doing PGS. But hoping I won't come to regret that. I think we are leaning towards transferring two, since we won't be doing PGS. I am scared of the risks, but all the delays are pushing me towards it since I am so ready for this to work!
@20T- hows the lupron treating you? only a few weeks until transfer right?! I really hopeee this all works for us! We will have to connect maybe on FB and create a little DE pregnancy group

Lupron has actually been ok @JamieH2000! I had some headaches and moodiness lol but things got better when I was able to add the estrogen patches on Friday. Although Thursday night will be my last Lupron shot and I won't be sad Today I am meant to add estrace but I'm a little confused about how much. My calendar says 2mg but the pill bottle says take 1 pill twice daily (which would be 4mg total)... I sent a message to my nurse via the RE's portal so we'll see what they have to say. I'm a little nervous about estrace as I've never taken it before so we'll see! I go back in on the 26th and hopefully will get a narrowed down transfer date then!
@20T- glad the lupron isn't too bad! Its crazy how different doctors do things differently. I believe I stay on lupron until I start progesterone and we do patches and only add in the pills (vaginally) if the lining needs an extra bump. Your instructions do sound confusing- glad you are checking! Have you had a lining check yet? For me, we have a baseline, then 2 lining checks before transfer. Hoping things look good on the 26th and then you can get your final FET date!!

Isn't it crazy how many different protocols there are @JamieH2000? You would think that by the time we get to a FET it should all look relatively similar! I was on bcp for 21 days, and towareds the end of the bcp, added Lupron for 14 days, then overlapping added patches (1 at first but will end up with 4 at a time), and oral estrace. I know I will add in PIO at some point, but that seems to depend on when my lining is ready! I had supression checks before starting Lupron and before starting patches but only have 1 lining check scheduled. I think they will add more if necessary?

Hi Girls! I just got back from vacation last night and now I'm catching up on everything. It's so exciting how we are all moving along and @JamieH2000 I'm so happy this new donor is working out and it didn't delay you too much.
My donor is going in tomorrow for her medical screening and I emailed the attorney we are using this morning to schedule our phone consult. She will go over with me all the options we will have in the contract and then draft it up.
@20T I have completely wished away the last year of my life and luckily I am very busy this fall so time is flying by. I just can't wait to get started again!

Both my RE and the program director called today and that helped. My RE says the whole team is here for me, cheering for me, and that she won't give up until we get this to work. The program director took the list of donors we had come up with and gave us some stats and availability info, as well as a few suggestions. I just got to go through it with the DH tonight. I think we are really going to focus on proven donors, even if it means less of a physical match. They aren't going to look just like me anyways, so I would rather have higher odds at this point. I can't take any more heartbreak. I worked from home today and will again tomorrow. I still just cry randomly, but hoping I will be able to get off the couch by Monday and go back to work. I hardly slept last night, so its time to pull out the nyquil i guess.

AFM: My donor is scheduled for her medical screening on 9/22 which is exciting. The nurse told me I can anticipate the cycle starting in early Nov which is what we were hoping for. The scary news is that when she was going through my paperwork she couldn't find my insurance authorization so someone may have dropped the ball there. She promised she would follow up with the financial coordinator right away so hopefully that is squared away soon.
Also, I had to call again to get this information and only then did they contact my donor to schedule the screening. Apparently, they were waiting on me to pay for the screening and I was waiting on someone from the finance dept to contact me about the specific amount. I got impatient and called today to follow up and then everything fell into place. If I wasn't so organized and willing to constantly be checking in would anything ever move forward?

@laurad75 yay for your donor's screening appointment but how annoying to have to ride your clinic that way! Maybe have a chat with a nurse about it?
AFM, I had my baseline this morning. I have a cyst (of course) but was told that it didn't really matter as long as it wasn't producing estrogen. I knew it was there because I could feel it and because this always happens on BC. I start Lupron tonight and my nurse said that should take care of it. I go back next Friday to see if we're ready to start patches and estrace!
AFM, we did select another donor based on all the info the clinic sent us yesterday. It isn't as close as a match physically, but she has donated 3 times before (once with amazing results at our clinic with 7 PGS embryos!). Our clinic said she is great to work with, so now they are just calling her today to confirm her availability even tho they just talked with her 2 weeks ago. This is thing has just brought up the greiving of not being able to use my eggs, since that is still what we (and anyone) would really want, but hopefully in the plan of our life, this next donor is the one meant for us. Hopefully we are only delayed 1 or 2 months, and i will be able to cycle with the rest of you lovely ladies

I heard back from my clinic and they were able to talk to the donor today. They explained my journey and it sounds like she is very excited and committed to donate again! Now my RE just has to officially sign off (which hopefully shouldn't be an issue given her last cycle results at my clinic). Then next week we have to pay a little more $$ and sign a contract to retain her, and then start all the legal and calendar stuff all over again. I guess at least this time I will know what to expect, and since this is her 4th cycle, hopefully she will be quick with her legal too. I would like to say I am excited, but also still feeling pretty jaded still haha. Hopefully time will get me back to the excited/hopeful camp.

AFM, i transferred my last two frozen embryos with a BFN. I had my donor consultation and am moving forward. I've chosen a donor and am waiting to hear back from my insurance about which portion they will cover. I'm hoping I'll be ready to transfer by November. I had a bit of a scare this morning when I went in for my U/S, as my cyst is still there after a week of Lupron. They said it would all come down to whether it was producing estrogen, and if it was it was going to have to delay us. They wanted my E2 levels to be < 60 and they came back at 11 so I slapped on a patch and we're still moving forward!
@20T- cysts are so annoying, but soo happy yours wasn't producing estrogen! Yay for starting patches! You are gonna be the one to start our next few months of transfers off with a BFP, I know it
